The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I honestly don't know why you put up with me.
*laughing at my post from yesterday*
If I am not complaining about something, I am blabbering about Toad Friend or some other critter I saw in my yard. Talk about a very uninteresting life. :p

I was busy yesterday but still felt like it was a relatively unsuccessful day. Shopping was fine other than I still have no big ideas about dinners. Speaking of which, I destroyed dinner last night! What a mess. hahaha-- a literal mess. I was making crispy bean and cheese burritos and after I rolled them all up, I realize I forgot the cheese. I tried to unroll them but because they are filled with refried beans, I could only unroll them halfway to add the cheese. Then all of the beans and cheese leaked out when I put them in the pan to fry them and they stuck to the bottom. I am trying to scrape them up while getting splattered by the coconut oil and they are sticking and collapsing and tearing and more filling is everywhere. I ended up getting a second frying pan and scraped as much of the filling off of the tortilla and tried again. Now I have two frying pans soaking and a stove covered in oil to scrub.

Drs apt was ok- she is very accepting of individuals' decisions, when she asked me if I ever had a colonoscopy I told her I was still dragging my feet on that- she suggested since I am low risk to try ColoGuard instead. That was cool- also said that I should consider the shingles vax but thinks that to wait at least 6 months after the COVID vax so my immune system doesn't flip out. I can do that too. Got a mammo Rx for when I am due for that so I can cross the Gyn appt off my list.

Looking back, aside from dinner, I guess it was a decent day. Hmm. I will take it. *High fives myself*

I was supposed to clean today but my friend fell and is not feeling well so I am rescheduled for one day next week. I think it is going to rain the next few days so I guess need to move my plants into the greenhouse. heh, that sounds so official- The Greenhouse... I mean- the shelves covered in plastic? yeah, that greenhouse LOL

Hoping everyone has a fab day!

@tanteva how is the brain today? I know that the news here can be unsettling and that makes me get thrown off my plans. Good luck (???) to the new govt. May they only work for good.
Bwuhahahah-- can't type that with a straight face!
Hope you have a good day at work.

@Cherylndesigns Awww, thanks! They are very cute together.
oooh, you are bad, plotting to get out of a wedding... I think my brother is trying to do that too. Christopher is in the wedding but it is in CO? MI? Somewhere he has to fly to and he does NOT like to fly.
Hope that your foggy brain is better today too

@felis One thing I love about cleaning other people's houses is that I don't have to make decisions on where to put things. Pick it up, clean underneath, put it back down. I can clean a three Bedroom/3 bathroom house in three hours. Trying to clean my house, even just downstairs since the kids are in charge of upstairs, takes me forever. I am sending you good vibes to win that yarn!!
Thanks for the sweet words about the photo- I have to a that I think Cait is gorgeous too.
Maybe I will name Toad Friend Tif. Tif. Tif can be unisex. I haven't seen them (I will use They/them pronouns when I remember) in the house I made, but maybe they are still in my bag. I bet they are!

@nancyr I heard the thunder banging on for hours the night before but we, thank goodness, didn't have any problems with electricity. My parents' went out for a few hours and there were two main roads in my town that we closed due to trees down. A tree fell on Tom's chicken coop but all of the chickens were OK.
Poor Luther-- we are on Day Three of using the Adaptil collar for J and she seems to be barking less but I will have to see how she is with more storms coming through. I got it on Amazon if you think that Luther might benefit.

Eva-- what a FUN lo-- anything you would add to it since 2012?

hugs!

Hello all,

My brain is still a little foggy, but not too bad.

Chris, @faerywings LOL about your brother trying to get out of the wedding. I did think about what you said, Nancy @nancyr - the couple will be so happy. I'm considering - I have two months to make up my mind. The wedding will not be here - but I won't have to fly - I wouldn't go if I had to fly! I think the location is 2 hours away, so it will be an overnight thing, at least - probably a weekend thing if I can guess. UGH

Chuck went down to get the "community mail" and brought Lila back with him. She's like a little furry rocket. LOL Daisy is relatively calm, so when Lila hits the door, it's "let the wild rumpus begin". I always said that when the grandkids came "rolling in" when they were little, now I say it to the dogs. FUN FACT: do any of you know what book that quote is from???

Well, I'd better do something - so far, I've done nothing besides sit at my computer. That's not nothing, is it??? LOL

Hugs all around.

Good Morning O-zies!! It is cooler and quite cloudy out there this morning. A break from the heat won't be a bad thing! This will be the last post from me for a while (at least 2 weeks). I am so friggin excited about our trip, I can hardly contain myself!! Today I have to bring up the suitcases and get the car washed and vacuumed out. Then I am going to put a fun sticker on my luggage to spruce it up a bit. Not sure what I should put on there but I want it to stand out and say hey I can travel again!!! We will be getting up super early on Friday morning to travel to Victoria to catch our early flight. Sure hope that there is not much traffic that early and that there are no accidents on the Malahat!! Keep your fingers crossed for me please! I am hoping to be more active here at the O by the end of summer, the grands will be here with us for a bit into August and then DH and I will be doing the Cowichan Valley Wine festival and hopefully lots of visits to the beach too! Yesterday when DH got home from work, we sat out on our upper front deck and chatted for a bit. I looked up the hill and saw smoke, OMG I said there is a fire burning. DH looked and quickly grabbed the phone and called 911. Sure enough a fire in an old abandoned Heritage house not far from us was going up in smoke it is tinder dry in the bush and if this got out of control the whole side of the mountain would go up in flames. 5 Fire Depts were called out and thankfully they got it put out before it had spread too much further into the bush. Here is a link to the article about it. https://www.cowichanvalleycitizen.com/news/four-halls-battling-blaze-on-maple-bay-road/
So that was our excitement for the day LOL. Pretty scary to think what could have happened!! Had a nice Face time with Heather and the boys this morning, everyone is pretty excited to be together again!! They leave tomorrow morning so they will be all settled in at Jason and Jackies by the time we arrive. Then Hunter's birthday party on Sunday, we are so happy to be able to celebrate his 4th birthday with everyone! Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can have a great time around the pool!

@faerywings - Chris I had to laugh over your hot mess of a supper you made last night!! I have had several of those disasters over the years!! Glad to hear that your Drs appt went well, sounds like you have a very understanding dr. and ya if you can avoid the colonoscopy then that is a relief for sure. I have never had to have one and after seeing DH having to drink that horrible drink before the procedure I hope I never have to have one! Hope your friend is feeling better soon! Nice that you are back to being able to clean again! Hope you have a nice day today, its ok if its boring, its better than than having something bad happen during your day!

@tanteva - Hope your brain fog is better today! I often have that feeling too, seems doing something different instead of the same old thing everyday seems to help with that. Glad that you got some better sleep and you will be able to relax and scrap some more! Your layout is lovely!

@Cherylndesigns - Oh dear you have brain fog too?? I can't imagine not liking to fly, but if you have another way of getting to the wedding than I suppose that is what you should do. It is such a long distance from here to where our kids are living that I can't imagine ever having to drive there! It would take over a week at least. Ugh!! Flying is so much faster!! No idea where that saying comes from, but its probably some cute Disney Movie?

@felis - keeping my fingers crossed that you win that yarn!! I sure hope that your summer is going well and that you are finding fun things to keep you occupied! I will try to be better at keeping in touch once the summer is over, its a busy time for us in the summer with lots of yard work and spending time with our family at the beach.

@nancyr - Wow Nancy your storm sounds like it was really bad! Poor Luther, hope he doesn't freak out too much with the big storm coming your way! Saturday is looking like it will be the nicest day for the week that my Gary is with us in Ottawa, the rest of the time it looks cloudy and thunderstorms darn it! Hopefully the forecast will change a bit and we will get the sun once in awhile! Your son was very lucky that he did not have damage to his eyes! Scary, but so happy that he is ok! Nice that you could all have lunch together!

Well I better get in the shower and get this day going. Hope you all have a wonderful few weeks ahead and I will be popping in again in a few weeks. I miss you all and hope that you all keep busy and stay healthy!! (waving good-bye)

@tanteva Eva, I had to laugh at your comment about your brain.

Trudy @taxed4ever I used to like to fly back in the day. My hubby had thousands of air miles and we always upgraded to first class or business class if that was available. I don't think a lot of planes even have that available now and I have to have an aisle seat and I have to know where I'm going to be sitting. I have terrible anxiety and claustrophobia as well as air sickness. Get the idea of why I don't like it? I'll only get on a plane if I absolutely have to. I think the last time I flew was when my mom passed away, in Indiana and we lived in Florida. I only had a short time to get up there. About "decorating" your luggage, for years, I've put great big bows or ribbons on our luggage handles. We can see them coming onto the conveyer belt. I put them on both sides of the handles and miraculously, they never came off. Anyway, I'm just weird like that!

Chris @faerywing good news about your doctor not giving you grief about having a colonoscopy. UGH - I'm planning on NEER having another one. There's a new test out that's newer than that ColoGuard thing. Can't think of the name, but I've seen the commercial.

My brain has gotten a little better as the day has progressed. The family came over for dinner - I know, I thought that Monday was maybe the last big dinner, but they aren't going to be in their house now until next week. The boyfriends didn't come, but Braden's girlfriend did. I went up to their house this afternoon and hung out with Adrienne. There's still so much to do that it makes my head spin. I helped her do a couple of things, but most of it is heavy lifting that we can't do. She's just doing laundry and things like that - they finally got water, plumbing and today they got their wifi and TV! Roger and Braden have all of the TV's on the walls -the guys have been doing stuff like that. I'm not sure when the furniture is coming, but they have a cleaning crew coming next week to clean before they move in.

Well, I thought I'd pop in and say good night. I'm going to get ready to go to bed earlier tonight because I didn't sleep very well last night.

Waving
