Mark it down, we have gone about 30 hours without the AC! Not even last night when I had the oven on for a bit, we decided to use the ceiling fans only. That might save us maybe 10 cents or so on the electric bill, perhaps?

Good news- I broke my scrap drought with a humdinger of a LO. I can't post it yet but when you see it, I guarantee it will make you smile. Or roll your eyes and say that Faery is a total kook. #crazy

I am so excited, I am going to meet my BFF for a day of sun and gossip by her pool. I have to get gas first, and as long as I am going down the highway, I have to stop at BJs and pick up some contractor bags. There goes the cash I got for cleaning pfftttt

@BrightEyes That is such a relief, that your BP is back to normal. How is the fatigue? Hopefully, that is also gone. Very good timing picking the plums, how sad it would be to see them on the ground after the winds came through. The animals wouldn't be sad- they would be thrilled

@bcgal00 Yikes, did you ever hit 100* where you were living before? It must be a shock to the system.

@Cherylndesigns What a great idea to have a "sitting area" in the pool. The family is going to love having it! Pretty soon you are not going to have any reason to leave the compound LOL

Good morning ladies. A real quick in and out. It's nice this morning...not nice enough to turn off the air. But nice enough to sit outside and enjoy it. Wish I had a few more hours to indulge in that...

Syd works today through Sunday and then she is done working. They asked her to switch shifts today so she could train someone. She showed me the message from her boss. It said "I know I tell you all of the time that you are my best employee and how much I will miss you but it is really true. I don't have anyone I can count on like you!" I told her that she should really feel good about that!

Ok, going to get myself into my office. I haven't showered or cleaned up this morning...guess I'll need to fit that into my lunch hour. We don't use cameras for our meetings so not much incentive...

Yesterday turned out to be a good day. Sister called in the morning and we talked for over an hour. It was good for both of us to get caught up on what is going on with us and the families. Then DD#1 called in the afternoon and we had a nice long chat, too. Both calls really boosted my spirits. I made it to the Post Office, library and to the grocery store in between the 2 calls. Caught a sale on fresh fruit... grapes, peaches, nectarines and oranges. For some reason, oranges were in short supply the past few weeks - so delighted to see them again. Had one for dessert last night and it was so yummy! We had rain showers all around but not in my neighborhood in the late afternoon. It cooled down enough to open the house up. I even went out and sat on the patio swing and read for almost an hour between 7 and 8PM. Haven't been able to do that for over a month! Noticed that daylight is getting shorter... had to come in as the light was fading.

Was feeling well enough to stick my toe back in the scrapping pool this morning. LOL ... It is much different working on DH's computer and using the ExHD where photos are kept now. I set up a 'working scrap' folder on the computer to download and unzip kits plus make LOs. Will move kits to the HD once I have uploaded the LOs to the forum/sites. I am sure the process will get to be 'normal' after a short while. Finding that some of my passwords/links/etc are missing so having to stop and go find them. Need to clean up the bookmarks, too. I didn't make it over to get the new mouse so working on the old computer won't happen until I get it. I know taking a short break from the computer stuff was the right thing to do as I am feeling better... less stressed.

Morning ladies... Another hot day here and only one more sleep, then a full day of airports and flights! Wish us luck that nothing gets delayed, cancelled or lost!! Heather, Jonah and the boys will be on the road already, a long drive for them, but they will be happy to arrive and see everyone I am sure! I was MIA from here yesterday as I had to leave very early for our hike and drop a few things off to the In-Laws before meeting everyone at the trailhead. The hike was lovely and we were in the shade for the most part, except the last couple of kms, by the time we got back to the cars we were all pretty hot and in need of air conditioning! I went back to the In-laws and had a nice swim in the lake! It felt so good! SIL Sharon was there visiting too, so we had a long chat out on the wharf. Then home just in time to make supper and enjoy a glass of wine with my DH. I was in bed and sound asleep before 9:30. It was very warm here yesterday and a bit humid we got up to 35C with the humidex it felt like 40 thats 104F. A bit too warm for my liking and it is supposed to be the same today and for the weekend as well. So glad we got the drip system for all of the plants outside. The neighbours son is going to water the pots on the deck for us and is quite excited to be making a bit of money for doing so! Hopefully everything will still be alive when we get back home! Today I am doing a bit of behind the scene stuff here at the O and then getting my suitcase out and figure out what to pack. I have to water the houseplants and do some laundry, it should be a day of doing this and that.

@faerywings - So happy to hear that your mojo has found its way back to you! I wish I had time to play with the Colour Play for this month, they always help me get some scrapping inspiration back. How fun that you and your Mom will be going to the shore soon! I hope that you have a great day hanging by the pool with your BFF today!! What a great way to spend the day! Enjoy!!

@LSlycord - How lovely that Syd's boss loves her work ethic so much!! She should be very proud! I know that you must be so proud of her also!! Hope your meeting goes well today! The great thing about working from home, you can stay in your pj's all day if you want LOL.

@BrightEyes - Happy to hear that you were feeling well enough to start up scrapping again! Yes taking the break from the computer was probably a wise decision! How nice to be able to sit out on your swing outside and some reading! It is sad to think that the days are already getting shorter, the summer seems to fly by! Sounds like you had some very nice phone calls yesterday, glad that they lifted your spirits! Hope you can get your new mouse soon!

@bcgal00 - Yup its stinkin hot here too! Hope that you had a fun time at the pub and that the air conditioning kept everyone nice and cool! Happy Birthday your Jen today!! Happy Birthday to your DH too!! Carrot cake was always my fav too!! Sadly I can no longer have it. Hope you find a great bakery that makes a delicious one!

@Cherylndesigns - Wow that pool looks massive!! It won't be long and you will all be splashing around in it! How wonderful!!

@taxed4ever I am so excited for you and this trip. Hoping that the luggage travels with you and that there are no flight delays or cancellations. Wish we didn't have to think about that but we do.

@Cherylndesigns I love that pool...I agree, it looks huge! Can't wait to see it filled. And that's going to be so sweet to sit in the pool on those loungers.

@bcgal00 I just keep thinking about that Alaskan cruise. I love the idea of the whale watching trips. We have been to Maui twice during prime whale watching time. I'd love to see them in Alaska too! I've never been in a helicopter but I might be tempted if it meant seeing those glaciers.

@BrightEyes good for you for taking a few days off from the computer and getting yourself de-stressed. I think that computers stress us, even under the best of circumstances.

Ok...I'm on lunch break and I'm going to shower and have some lunch... Have the best time Trudy!

Good morning ladies. We had fun at dinner last night. When we got in the car the temp was 50 (122)...yikes. I couldn't sit in the seat for about 5 minutes until the A/C cooled things off. Enjoyed a low carb beer and an amazing hamburger (topped with bacon, a large smokie, mushrooms, cheese, onion rings and tomato. Yum. I had no bun and salad instead of fries. Almost keto friendly. I was so good, I said no to dessert and the birthday gal had a yummy deep fried mars bar and ice cream dessert. I didn't even take a bite. Got home to watch the two final episodes of Joe vs Carol before bed.

I'll be in the pool every day now b/c the temps are staying around 40 (100F) for the next 3 days and then finally drops down a next week. Our pool is warm like bath water. I'm loving it.

Today is Jen's b-day so will make burgers and salad for dinner and give her a few gifts. Rather than get a full cake where there would be leftovers and then we'd be tempted to keep eating it, I got a single serving piece of gluten free carrot cake and brownie cake. Her and I will each take a half. D won't eat any, he opted for pastry turnovers.

I'll have to make a trip to the bakery again tomorrow to get a dessert for D and a few groceries but other than that I am not going out until the temps drop a bit.

Just popping in quickly to say hi. Been working all day & with all the stress this week, I'm really tired. Just wanted to tell you Mårten is fine. He's eating, peeing & pooping like a King. LOL We will start him on medication tomorrow (antiinflammatory) to make sure his bladder is fine.

Will be scrapping all day tomorrow. Need to play catch up with challenges for this month!

Good afternoon. Finally made it in here. I've had company on and off all day. I thought it was going to be a quiet day because Daisy is gone all day having her teeth cleaned. Of course, it hasn't been and now Lila is here with me. The pool crew started at 5:30 this am!! There are so many trucks up there - they're pouring the pool today! I can't believe how fast they've gotten this far. They've been pretty loud and even worse for poor Adrienne - trying to work. If they're this loud here, I can't imagine how loud they are there. I'm going to go up and look at it as soon as the maze of trucks clear out. Of course, we haven't had any water today - just a trickle now. Roger isn't here, but he told them to get the water to mix the concrete from the pond - not the house and of course, they aren't doing it.

Chris @faerywings I'm so glad you broke your scrapping drought and I know which one it is - I can't wait for the reveal, either!

Trudy @taxed4ever sending you good flight/no lost luggage vibes - hoping things go smoothly for your trip. I know you're so excited!

I'm going to scoot off here - I'm getting a super late start. Adrienne came down for dinner last night and she's coming back tonight. Chuck cooked for both of us and she got a real kick out of it. It was just the 3 of us.

I'll try to sneak up there and get pictures of the pool progress!
