Good morning, I am not hiding behind the couch anymore. Instead, I am merely flopped on it, like an old coat. That is an improvement. Really!

I will try to make this brief since, like I said yesterday, no one should have to deal with my grumpiness day in and day out. My mom is not getting the procedure done today, it will be tomorrow. The hospital gave her an Rx for some medicine that would "coat" the kidneys but none of the pharmacies carry it. when she called the nephrologist's office, they told her that she doesn't need the medicine, it is antiquated. My mom needed a day to get her head straight so the procedure is set for tomorrow.
My brother is not giving her space (Italian men, stubborn and bossy!! Ugh!!) and they ended up fighting. OTOH-- my wacky DD had her laughing her butt off, with my mom calling her a little s***head and the rats tiny s***heads and that I am am the big s***head. hahaha!! That sounds much more like my mom and she needed that cheering up from Cait.

Gary is still working on my computer. It is up and running today but we need to start re-installing things which is where it might get tricky. So far, the only thing I lost was all of my Firefox Bookmarks. That might be a good thing since there were so many that are completely outdated. It will be good to start fresh.

Do you remember that I planted a pack of marigold seeds into the planter on the patio? They are getting ginormous, I had no idea that they got so big. I have been transplanting them in the yard and yesterday, I saw the cutest little - larvae? It was fluorescent pink. No idea what it was but I snapped a picture. When I get all of the camera and stuff installed I will upload and share it. I also got to chat with a little toad as he was hopping around. ( Maybe it was a she, I didn't ask for their pronouns :) )

I felt like crud all day yesterday and somewhat better today. Not a plan to do anything today. I already want to take a nap but you know that I won't. hehe.

Gratitudes:
-my kids. My goodness, I look at them and am so full of love and how proud I am at how they have grown up, how they value and love their g-parents, all of them
-that my mom is going to get the procedure done and isn't fighting it. that is HUGE!
-that my mom can talk to me, really talk and that I know it helps her (even if I get bossy and stubborn at times as well.)

Hugs to all of you!!

Jean- COVID restrictions are making the worries so much worse. I feel like it's I could go go see her, talk to the Drs with her, it would be easier for us both.
yes, thank goodness for the outdoors!
I am so thrilled that the classes are helping you with your research. It is very humid here too so I hope it cools a bit for you today.

Trudy- How was the hike? You were really productive the day before. Send some of that my way ;) hehe, I feel your pain about what to cook for dinner. Every darn day!
I know that the hospital is short-staffed (FIL said the same thing) and I am *sure* that the nurses have some level of PTSD, but one thing happened was that she accidentally pulled the IV out of her arm and blood spurted everywhere, all over her and they were more concerned about the blood on the floor while she was standing there with blood on her face and arms. Eventually, they gave her a couple of wet wipes to clean herself up with but she had dried blood between her fingers for over day. She felt humiliated and inconsequential. Just makes me sad and angry. Cait told her to first take care of her health and then she would help her "get vengeance." That had my mom LOL-ing

Kay- I hope that your family issues resolve quickly, sending you BIG HUGS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope the AC is fixed!

Cheryl- thank you for the good thoughts too, how is your family doing, is everyone better? 2020 has been so difficult for everyone. :(

Rae- Thanks Rae!!! Happy shopping!

And thank all of you for your sweet words and good thoughts-- means the world to me!!!!

Yesterday was a crazy class with exercises that I needed way more time to do than we had and then in the pm using a program to map the land in a deed, free version, needed four or so layers, but could only get two. Guess what I did - snipped images at the same scale and put them in PSP to do my thing there. It worked too. Many frustrations with being virtual, but most of us are still really happy to be able to take this course. Got to get going as today's session starts soon.

Chris, yay for mom agreeing to the procedure and Cait for getting her in a good place. Glad you got outside. The marigolds must be a pleasure. Looking forward to the creature photo. Good luck with the computer.

Kay, yikes, hope the A/C is fixed!!! Hope everything else is getting smoothed out.

Cheryl, good to see you and hope you have a good day.

Rae, nice you're getting to Anna's sales!

Have a good one, everybody!

Another quick in and out...
The A/C is fixed!!!! It was a worn out capacitor that quit. Took the repair guy about 30 minutes to find and replace it. Then blessed cool air was flowing through the vents. Cost $$ but well worth it to have the A/C working right.
The family situation is still on-going.... not sure when things will be resolved.

Chris... so sorry about what happened with your mom. Hope she gets the stents put in and that will help her. <<< hugs >>>

Jean, sounds like that is a very interesting class. Glad you are learning more.

Cheryl, good to see you pop in.

Rae, great seeing you pop in, too! Yes, Anna's stuff is a big draw!

Got to go close the house up as the temp is going up. CYL

good morning - whew did I have a wild night. Finally my girlfriends and I decided it was safe to eat outdoors at a local restaurant. Of course we selected last night. We are having a nice conversation under a tent when the worst thunderstorm of the year came through. It was lightning and thunder like I have not heard this summer. The rain came down in torrents, the wind blew rain sideways and we were getting soaked. Finally to top it all off the wind blew the tent roof apart and we were rushed inside the restaurant. We all had on our masks and we waited it out. Others ran to cars. We took our food as take out. The was flooding in the town and trees down. The fire department had to rescue cars and the river is high. The little creek at the end of my street flooded. It took my husband over 2 hrs to get home from flooded roads. I felt bad that Luther was home alone but he seemed to be ok when I got home. It was crazy. Today is good as I have already walked. The sun is not out. It is humid but at least the sun is not out.

Chris I am so sorry life is dragging you down! I am glad your mom has you to talk to to keep her on track. Cait is such a help! I am glad she got everyone laughing! And you are not dragging us down. Amazing you did not get the storms.

Jean glad you are getting stuff out of your classes! Glad you are getting a reprieve from heat. Have fun! And how cool to see the hummingbird and hear the wren. That does help the day along!

Trudy hope you had a great hike!

Rae so nice to see you popping in!

Cheryl thanks for the nice comments on my pages.

Kay OMgosh hope that AC was fixed! It is too warm to be without it!

Morning ladies... It is overcast and this morning and looks like it will be that way until afternoon. Our hike was very nice yesterday, but more of a really long walk!! It was all along the Trans -Canada trail and was just about 12.5km so a good way to get out in the fresh air and still be able to be socially distant! Today I have lots of watering to do, the plants along the back fence are looking very thirsty and my Hydrangea out the front seems to be a wilting a bit also. Other than that I need to get to my sister's and pick up some eggs and drop off a birthday card for her DH. A pretty quiet day, so it will be nice to have a visit with my sister!

Chris - That is horrible that your Mom had to feel the humiliation! WTG Cait for putting her back into a better mood! I hope that you can all find something fun and productive to do today! It's so nice that your marigolds are growing so well! They are great plants to keep the mosquitoes away, I think that next year I should plant some, the mosquitoes seem to really be loving me this year. They never used to bother with me and always went for my Gary instead, but this year I have all the bites and he hasn't had any :mmph:

Jean - How great that you got the program to work for you in PSP! Nice to have the extra time to get that done! Sounds like although your virtual classes might be frustrating at times, you are still enjoying them!

Kay - So happy to hear that the AC is now up and running again! Whew!! Hope that your family situation does not last too much longer and that things get resolved!

Nancy - Yikes!! That storm sounded like a pretty bad one! It's amazing how fast they come up like that! Too bad it ruined your night out with your friends, but at least you got to take your food home with you! So scary to have all the flooding and thank goodness your DH made it home through all of that! Sure hope that today is a much calmer day for you and Luther!

Rae - Have fun shopping in Anna's amazing store, I hope you land some great deals!

Ok face time call coming in from Heather and the boys so I gotta get outta here :bolt: Have a great day everyone!
