Happy Thursday to all of you who are keeping track. And if you still are keeping track :yo: Keep up the good work!

Mini update on my mom-- she was admitted last night and no one was surprised. It was a smart move and I wish she had gone in sooner. But it is what it is. Her BP was low and she was dehydrated, but heart seems good, O2 is good. They are concerned about her kidneys again which doesn't surprise me either since she has never been good about drinking water and since she has been throwing up, that will only make it worse.
I got to talk to her last night after she got settled in her room and she already sounded a bit stronger. She will talk to the drs about the tests (CAT Scan and U/S) they ran yesterday and go from there. It sucks that I can't go and visit. My dad was allowed into the ED but wasn't allowed to leave the room, except to go home.
He talked to her this morning and emailed to say she sounded good.

yesterday was one of those days where I couldn't get myself settled. I was cleaning the pedestal fan in the LR with a toothbrush. I popped the front piece off and cleaned that in the tub but scrubbed the blades and back piece with a toothbrush. Maybe today I have some grout to scrub? hehe
Caitlyn and I were going to make avocado eggrolls for dinner but 3/4 of them were bad. I got them yesterday and they were rock hard. 11 am they felt good. 4 pm-- all brown. Thankfully, I had chicken and chick'n (fake) nuggets and fries in the freezer.

It is cloudy and cool right now so I am contemplating cleaning my office today. I also have to keep an eye on Ray- she has been very wobbly on her feet again. And paces, just walks in circles from the LR, DR, kitchen and LR again. We stopped the pain meds, maybe she just can't metabolize them properly. She does better off of them than on. So *nothing* to worry about here. (The GROUT!! Where is the toothbrush and grout!!)

Cait finally got the re-opening plan information for Ramapo U. It will be basedon the stages, depending on what is happening in the state. But it will be mostly online, and some small group classes with masks and social distancing required. She seemed pleased with that. I am am too.

Wishing everyone a fantastic day!

Trudy- how was the hike? Good thinking to wear long pants and use DEET. DEET is my BFF. What cool wildlife did you get to see?
Thanks for the good thoughts for my mom. We are heading back into the 90s this weekend so the cold weather is only here for a little while. Looks like the US is not going to be allowed *anywhere* for a long time and I can't say that I blame anyone. We should be considered pariahs. I read that Okinawa is upset that US troops stationed there are spreading and adding to Japan's cases. :(

Jean- I am bummed that you aren't able to go to Pittsburgh, I know you were so excited for that. Are you able to get any breeze in your house?
Stupid suggestion and forgive me for butting in (it is what I do best!)- Can you contact your local social services dept and see is they have any programs to get ACs for seniors? My county has something like that for seniors and disabled people. We haven't needed that since we have window units, but it might be something to check.

Nancy- How fun to talk to your neighbor and Devil's fan! That is cute that he enjoys the wildlife by you. Leah's first time up here- she joked that it looked like Alaska compared to where she is from (Wayne). How does your hair feel? Nice and fresh? Did you decide to do color? *jealous* :p
ITA with everything you said to Cheryl. Thank goodness NJ is doing so well. Not great, but steady. It is all we can hope for under the circumstances. The worst has to be how asymptomatic people can spread it for up to 14 days. That makes it so hard to trace. I am really relieved that your DS is better and that you and DH didn't catch it.

Kay- ugh, sorry that you lost another post! I obsessively Ctrl-A/C after every few sentences LOL
 I cannot get over what they GI Dr did!!!! OMG!
Whew! Thank goodness the monitoring co will get you the sign for free- how ridiculous of them to not want to. SMH.
Your gov sounds like she has been on top of things too. NY/NJ/CT has 20+ states that need to do a 14 day quarantine too, it makes so much sense. NJ has a mask requirement for outdoors too.-- And then you have GA gov who is not allowing mask requirements *at all.* Do they not see what happened a few months ago andhow is it being slowed? :frusty:
I am glad that you are being safe and careful.

I think it is time for me to put long long pants on, I have goosebumps!

Hugs and love to everyone!
(and please ignore my rambling and frustrations today)

good morning - it is mostly cloudy and only to get to high 70s. What a feel of fall but it will not last as summer is back for the weekend. I am so happy with my hair. I did not color it but there are streaks of brown still left and she cut it so that they are highlights. It is funny though because brown they are actually lowlights. Ah but to have the hair cut is so good! I was so happy as she and the other stylist both said that my hair is this pretty silver not a dull grey LOL. Maybe they have to say that but I like it. Then came home and decided I did not like what there was to eat in the house and went to the store. I am happy now. I got my frappachino and lemon cake from Starbucks that is within the store. So today I will walk and scrap.

Chris I hope you can settle down today now that you know your mom is in good hands and they are working with her and she is listening! Sending more good thoughts. That is good news for Cait. I think that is how my DH's university will work - Online and in person. They had the Westfield Daycare center on TV this morning. My sons went there as youngsters. It seems like they have a real handle on how to open it safely and then keep the kids and teachers safe. I bet Cait will make it work.

Trudy as Chris said hope you saw lots of animals and had a great time!

Kay OMgosh that doctor should be reported. I feel like the more tests the more money in his pocket. Glad you primary doctor will not put up with that and love the note at then end of the referral. These days we have to be our own best advocate and you do a great job!

Jean I am so sorry that you are not going in purpose to your genealogy classes. I hope you still learn a lot online. No I know you will pick up lots of great info! Baseball is coming soon!

Quick in and out.... have my bone density test in less than an hour...
Just popped in to say that the Monitoring company dropped off the sign yesterday afternoon. Need to decide where to put it then water the area as the ground is so dry and harder than a rock right now. Was a bit shocked that my BP was up this morning [before taking my meds] but upon thinking about it... not so surprised. Will keep a close check on it.

I found an old white Queen sized flat sheet so swapped out the twin gold sheet in the bathroom window. The gold sheet reflection made the bathroom look 'warmer' even though it wasn't really. But now the white reflection makes it look cooler. Not going to worry about getting a rod and curtains for that window as the sheet is doing a good job.

Gotta run... CYL

Morning ladies... It. is a bit cloudy here this morning, the temps are a bit cooler too. Yesterday's hike was so pretty all along the creek and then up the mountain, but the only wildlife we saw were all the Ravens who have their nests in the trees, lots of chatter going on between them all LOL. I guess with our group of 20 hikers we were just making too much noise and scared away any other wildlife that would have been around. By the time I got home it was very, very warm and so into the tub to soak my tired legs and then I felt much better! One of the ladies on our hike had to stop for quite a while as she was dehydrated and was feeling pretty badly! So out came the first aid kit and they got some electrolytes into her. So important to keep those fluids in your body while you are hiking, especially when it is that warm! I got Mason's painting finished and now have to varnish it and get it out in mail today. I will run out to the Old Farm Market today too and see if they have some local strawberries and raspberries :hungry: Should do my online shopping today too. So I will just quickly be in and out of here. Heather and the boys face timed with me already and they are all excited to be going on a little tree day vacation to the beach. They have rented a little cabin that belongs to Jonah's Auntie and so it will be a nice private area for them to just get away for a while. Then at the end of the month Heather and the boys will be going to our son's place in Ottawa and spending 2 weeks with them! So happy that they will be together and Jonah will be joining them for the last few days there to bring them all home again. Poor Jonah doesn't get many days off from his work.

Chris - Yes Deet is my friend too, so far, so good, no ticks to be seen! Good for you Mom for getting herself to the hospital! Yup she needs to keep hydrated that is for sure! So many things can go wrong with our bodies if we do not drink enough water! MIL was admitted last year for the same thing! It is a worry and the kidneys really can be damaged from not enough fluids! I told her that wine is not considered a good fluid LOL. I hope that you find some grout to clean today LOL!

Nancy - It is too bad that your son will have to wait to properly propose to his sweetie! Hopefully it won't be much longer of a wait! So nice that you got your hair done and that you are happy with the low lights and now will not be spending so much money on getting it coloured anymore. Wish I was ready for that, but not there yet and I don't have a nice grey, its mousey!! Enjoy your day of scrapping!

Kay - Good luck with your bone density test today! I am so happy that you will not be seeing that GI doctor anymore! He should be reported! Happy that the sign got delivered to you, but it should not have taken the threat of leaving them to do it! I wouldn't blame you if you changed providers! Glad that the sheets are doing the trick for your heat! Take care of yourself and watch your BP, but now that you don't have to deal with the bad doctor, perhaps it will get better!

Jean - Sorry that you will have to do your classes in your too hot of a house! I think you should look into what Chris suggested. It wouldn't hurt to find out about it! Hope that the temps are not too bad for you today!

Ok I better get going and get this painting varnished and ready to go! Have a great everyone!
