:cold:Do you see the Feels Like?????

:thud:

How many days until summer???
Too many. The answer is: Too many.

However, in spite of the awful temps, I have good news to share! Sit down for this, you are not gonna believe it.
I spent 3 1/2 hours with my parents and they only started bickering right before I left. I told them both "Not today!" and they stopped.
You can pick your jaws off the floor now. :p
It was a birthday miracle.
I had to share this with you since you always hear me complain about how they drive me up the wall. It's a super nice change of pace.

My dad got my mom a new printer with refillable ink tanks. I was hoping that I could set it up for them but the best way to do it was through an app. They weren't comfortable with that so I left it for Gary to figure out the workaround. The old printer works but will not connect to their wi-fi. I'll bring them a cable to connect directly if they want to keep it as a spare.

Lucky me, I am cleaning for my friend this morning and she keeps her house colder than I do. Mine is set at 66 and she keeps hers at 60. I have to layer and layer since I start out very cold. But once I start vacuuming, the layers do me in. The worst part is working up a sweat and then having to get in my ice-box car which takes the entire drive home to warm up. The next car I get will have a remote start. (The next car I get will be whatever I can afford, most likely not one with a remote start LOL!!!)

What good plans do you have today?
Sending good weather thoughts to whoever needs them and no wind thoughts to LA/Southern California.

love and hugs!!

@LaurieW Nope, no snow here, other than an inch a few days ago. The weekend storm also seems to be staying well south of us. That's good since it would be miserable trying to shovel the snow in this awful wind.
I hope the home seller/house prep were better than expected.

@AK_Tracy How is the weather by you, are the roads any easier to navigate?

@Terri M *waving madly* The holidays take so much out of you, don't they? I hope that you start to feel more energetic soon. The weather can't be helping either. Are you counting the days until you get back on your bike? Good luck getting your G-DD's Disney book done!

@bcgal00 Quiets days?? You?? Hahaha! Hope you had a fantastic day!

@vickyday I'm so sad to hear that your family get-together looks like it isn't happening. Better to reschedule though than to have everyone on the roads. :(

You are too hard on yourself, Faery!
Who me?? never! :haloslip:

@BrightEyes Hope that my hugs are still getting to you ~~~ ♥

@Cherylndesigns Are you feeling better yet? It sounds absolutely brutal. Hugs, chicken soup, and some extra cozy blankets heading your way!

xoxoxoxo!

Glad your parents gave you a break yesterday!
Our car has a remote start but doesn't work. Probably has something to do with the engine light problems we're still having!

Yeah, I pulled the plug on the gathering today. We're trying to reschedule for later this month but my youngest won't be able to make it, unfortunately!

Good cold morning,
20 feels like.....not sure, but in the teens, I think is what I heard. Brrrrr!
We cancelled the gathering with family for this weekend because of the weather forecast. Snow would be ok, but the possibility of ice is the deal breaker. So, I'm spending the day with Ilene. We're at her doctor's office now for a follow up on her pre-diabetes and swelling in her legs. She turns 85 on the 18th and amazes me!
We will go to eat after the doctor appointment and then go back to her house to play Qwirkle.
Have a great day!

I am here!!! Woke up just after 6AM and it was dark... Now @ 7:20 it is still dark!!! And we had snow and very low heavy cloud cover with more snow to come. 22*F and feels 18*F! Brrr. Definitely time to pull out the long johns. :brrr: Layer, layer, layer! At least the wind has calmed down to a breeze.

@faerywings - I don't keep my house as cold as you (My house - 65 at night and 70 middle of the day then back down to 65 in late afternoon). So glad you had a good visit with the parents and NO BICKERING from them!!! Yes, your hugs are still arriving and are most welcome. As I said.. yesterday was a bitter-sweet day. I decided since my hair was looking good (after my shower that morning) to put some make-up on in the late afternoon and take some selfies for a new avatar. . . . and for Momma O's Jan Challenge. It perked my spirits up and had me :floorlaugh: as I sat in front of the computer/camera and snapped away. Oh, yes... there were several "bloodies" which gave me the giggles. But I did manage several good ones. Need to sit down this morning and winnow through them to pick out the one to use. And I did manage to get a couple of CT pre-release LOs done. So the day ended on a fairly good note.

@Cherylndesigns So sorry you and the family got sick... hope you are feeling a bit better today. Saw some of the photos from your outings with Susan... knew you would get along like 2 peas in a pod!!

@vickyday Sorry your family gathering is delayed but no sense in them traveling when the weather is bad.

@bcgal00 You... quiet??? :rotfl: Glad you and hubby are making friends and being active. You make me want to dig out my beading supplies again!!! I loved making jewelry to compliment my clothes (which I usually made). Alas - not sewing any more.

Need more :coffeedrinker: and time to get dressed. HAGD

Good Morning everyone! I am finally back home and settled in to my home once again. Missing my kids and grands, but mostly missing my brother Tom! It will be a long time before this heartache becomes less intense! I have lots of catching up to do here at the O, so I won't post a long drawn out chat with all of you yet. I have missed all of you, but my heart is just not in a good place right now and I don't want to bring you all down! I need to change my avatar and get some coupons out, so that should keep me busy for today. Poor DH got a terrible cold on the last couple of days out East, but of course he is back to work (shouldn't be though). He says he is feeling much better, but he is still coughing like crazy. Hopefully I do not get it passed on to me! So far I feel healthy. Anyway I just wanted to pop in and say :wavinghello:I will try to be more active here in the coming days! I hope you all have a lovely day and try to stay warm!

Good Morning!!!

Lucky me, I am cleaning for my friend this morning and she keeps her house colder than I do. Mine is set at 66 and she keeps hers at 60.
That is WAY to cold! We keep the bedroom at 65 but the living room is 69.

I'm so sorry the plans got canceled. I'm sure its a huge disappointment.

@BrightEyes cant wait to see these layouts with your beautiful face. Glad you had a good day yesterday.

@taxed4ever Welcome home. I'm sorry youre in a blue mood and missing your brother. :heartpumppink: Hope you dont get sick.

Yesterday was a good day. Busy though and several helpers sick so it was a long day but very rewarding. Today will be recovery and I hope to do nothing. Except pour more coffee into my cup. :coffeedrinker:

Good morning ladies. I'm off to mahjong today and Darrell will now start coming too. I told him to make sure he tells his table that he is new to the game so they can help if he makes mistakes. We'll come for for a bit, hang out with the dogs and then head out for pub night with the group. The weather has been good. I don't know what the rest of Jan and Feb will bring but I'm glad that this month so far has been warmer than this time last year. Typically Jan/Feb are the coldest months here.

I had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner last night. I always enjoy that old childhood fave. I got out my soup mugs with the handles, don't know why they were in the back of the cupboard and hadn't been used in ages. I moved them to a new spot so they are easier to grab when needed.

@faerywings What a much nicer time with your mom and dad without the bickering!
@taxed4ever Sending hugs Trudy. Keep busy and take it one day at a time. It's not an easy time to get thru.
@AK_Tracy Enjoy your quiet day.
@BrightEyes Sounds like yesterday ended up being productive. Yes, I do really enjoy making jewelry to match my clothes. I need some more storage for my pieces though, it's a mess now with so much jewelry and not being able to display them properly so I can see what I have. I will also have fun taking apart old jewelry and re-purposing them. Garage sales will be fun in the summer, looking for old jewelry to use.

I have to hop in the shower and get on with my day. bfn

I agree, Kay! We're going to try for the end of the month.

I'm sure it will take quite a while to get over your loss. Hugs to you and your family!

I think we have your normal weather, Rae! Brrr! You can have it back! ;)

I crawled to my computer a minute ago. I've had a pretty rough day, but that's how this virus works. It just goes from one "thing" to another "thing" until it runs it course. Got medication today, so I feel like it's kicking in a little bit.

I just wanted to let you all know I'm still kicking, but not very hard. LOL

Trudy @taxed4ever I'm SO incredible sorry about your brother. You told everybody while I was in the throes of the virus and I just saw that you were on here. My heart goes out to you and your family. Hope your Gary gets over this cold soon and that you don't get it.

Chris @faerywings feeling a little better than I have all day. I've been pretty nauseated today (just another step in this horrid virus). It HAS been brutal, and it's called Norovirus and none of you want it, trust me! We dropped like flies from it. The chicken soup and cozy blanket were received - thanks so much!!!

Kay @BrightEyes glad you made it through yesterday and that you're feeling much better (emotionally) today. Yes, Susie and I hit it off from the minute we spied each other. It's so awesome to meet a fellow scrapper, and online friend, IRL.

Hugs to ALL, and try to stay out of large gatherings, if you can.

XOXO
