Good morning, O-Fam :D

Considering I slept like you know what last night, I am in a decent mood-- I think it is leftover from laughing so hard. We played a new game after dinner and it was totally fun and bonkers. I think I posted about it last month. I got it (actually, Santa brought it *wink*) for Christmas, it is called Ravine, a cooperative survival game that has lots of little tricks up its sleeve. One of the things you need to do is Forage but as you pick your Forage Card, you might get one that is called an Uh-Oh Card. Scott got an Uh-Oh Card that made him not be able to use his arms for a turn. I got one that made me go "mad" and I had to take a Madness card. I had to throw all of my Supplies Cards "in a rage" and only keep the ones that landed face up.
It went faster than we expected so we threw in a few more rounds since we were having fun.
What are my chances of getting the kids to come back over for games after they move out?

I am off to clean for my friend today, then I need to call my mom about her b-day. She talked to Caitlyn yesterday and apparently is planning on coming here on Sunday, wish she let me know as well. ;)

have a wonderful day!!

The weather was really warm yesterday-- we hit 60*!- and I decided that it made more sense for me to run errands rather than wait until next week when it was most likely going to be colder. I got all of the dogs' meds from the vet. I also made it into the attic with almost the last of the holiday decorations. I am on a roll! Go Me!

@vickyday It's awful how hard it is to get assistance when you need it the most. Sorry that you went through that when your DH was so ill. :(
My dad is 84 and my mom is 81. My dad is still very active- he volunteers with the fire dept -- going on 57 years now. Fishes, hits the gym to walk on the treadmill. My mom had heart and kidney problems but still loves to shop :D
What did you end up doing with the rest of your day, did you pick out a new pattern? I restarted the scarf *again* and I think I have it all worked out. It looks a lot neater than the one I had going,
This is what I am working on:
Moss Boss Cowl Crochet Pattern

@bcgal00 Your quiet days are still way busier than my busy days. Why is cauliflower scarce? I hope that you are able to get some soon.
Did you make your muffins?? Or am I resetting the clock to see how long it takes again? *G*

W needs to go. BRB!

Good morning ladies! Today is haircut day! And it is supposed to hit a high of 78* here today. Then we go to highs in the 60's for the rest of the month. Which still isn't too bad...I think that I can live with that.

Yesterday was another day of just doing nothing. Went to the beach and sat around watching Sydney play in the water. Having an adult child is definitely different...but it is growing on me. @faerywings I'm sure that your kids will come back to do game nights with you. My cousin and his family were always big game players. They still are and their kids are in their 30's and 40's. When they gather at the lake, everyone gathers round to play games...sometimes card games, sometimes board games. Since it is just me and Sydney that play games at our house, I can imagine us playing cribbage when she comes to visit me at the nursing home. ;) Your parents are doing great for their ages!

Shaun is back to complaining about school so it's all good here.

Since I did personals last night, I guess I'll just wait for later in the day again. Or maybe not...who knows. Surely not me!

@LSlycord I saw the pics of Syd in the ocean and while I am still 100% jealous, it looked cold! I wish I could give you a hug on Sunday in person, I can't imagine how much you are going to miss her :(

@Cherylndesigns I hate it, my mom and dad are both depressed and seems like I can't do anything to help. No more than they could help me when I had Postpartum Depression, I guess *shrugs*
I am sure that the birthdays don't help and they both have lost a lot of family and friends in the past year, many of them younger than they are. It has to play into it all.

I am running late, better wrap this up xoxoxo

Somehow I missed popping in here yesterday. I spent the morning doing some CT work and scrapped a challenge LO... only to discover that I used a kit from the wrong designer! Haven't done that is ages! I uploaded it to galleries as I really like the LO... but not to the challenge. <<< shakes head over mistake >>> Shut down the computer and decided to read for awhile to get my mind down off of that mistake. Finished the book - "The Search" by Nora Roberts - last evening. It was a re-read but enjoyed it as it kept my mind occupied. I did stop reading for a bit in the afternoon to think about organizing new financial files for the new year only to discover I am short file folders! I like the different color folders so will pick up a box of them the next time I am down near the mall. The last box lasted me 4 years so was well worth the cost. :D I did dig a bin out of the garage for last years folders to go into... Yeah - it is time to think about making sure I have all the income tax papers I will need in one place. Always feel better once I have the new folders in place in the standing file early in Jan so this month's paperwork doesn't get mixed up with last year's paperwork.

Guess my body was really tired as I slept in until 8AM! It is COLD... only 25*F but the sun is shining in partly cloudy sky. Saw a hot air balloon up in the sky. Brrrr... no way would I want to be out in the cold. Looks like there won't be any snow in our area for the next week to 10 days and the temps will be up into the 40's or low 50's. Have a brown bag lunch with the gals next Tuesday. Only thing on the calendar until the end of the month - primary care doctor's appt. My niece let me know that she might be coming my way near the end of the month. Always glad to see her. She has a motorhome so will stay at the park she has used before. Hope she stays for a long visit.

@faerywings So sorry your parents are having some issues. At least your mom told Cait that she will be coming to your house for her birthday so you can do a bit of planning for it. So glad that your family had a blast planning the new game. I remember when my family all lived near by we would have at least 2-3 tables of Pinochle going... so much laughter and fun! I am sure the adult kids and SO with come back to your house for game night once they have moved on to their own places.

@LSlycord I also the FB pics of Sid at the seaside. Brrr... it still looked cold to me. But, then again, I remember living in Jacksonville and wading in the sea in wintertime. Of course, I was in my early 20's so was brave (and probably fool-hardy at the time)!! LOL I know you all are going to miss Sid once she is back at college. Hope you get your hair cut done today.

@vickyday Your DH is really coming along on the cabin. What are the plans for it once he has finished with it?? Don't blame you for moving on to a different knitting project after the different size socks. Your DH is so sweet to take you out to eat so you don't have to cook. My DH was so good to do that too.

Gotta go... DD#1 is calling.

Love that your dad is still so active! Ilene is like your mom in that she loves to shop, but she has slowed down some. I love/hate going shopping with her because she has to stop and look at EVERYTHING.....especially at COSTCO! I have my list and want to go to those items and get them and leave!
I did find a pattern: Tulip Chevron Baby Dress
And I love the Moss Boss Cowl! I want to make that eventually!

It probably depends on where your kids move to and their work schedules. Our kids were always scattered so the only time we were able to play games together after they left home was when we gathered for the holidays. And then it was guys against gals when we played Balderdash and one other game that I have forgotten the name of. We always played games with them when they were still home. Friday was family night. We ate out/ordered pizza in, split a half gallon of UDF ice cream 6 ways and played board games or hide and seek. We lived in a house that was 3 stories, including the basement, so the only rule was you couldn't go outside to hide. We had a blast! Once, my oldest, Jessica, and I were hiding together in the tub. While we were standing there waiting to be found two of the "legs" that were totally rusted broke and the tub dropped! We screamed and clung to each other as we thought we were falling through the floor into the basement! Michael, child #2, used to scrunch himself up into one of the side doors of our antique sideboard we had when he was about 8. The first time he did that we looked for the longest time. I think he finally had to come out just so he could straighten himself out! The space was about 12"w x 18"h x 24"d. Can you imagine?!
I hope they live close to you when they move! I miss my kids! Makes me sad. And even though one of them is only 20 minutes away they are so involved with school and sports that I still do not see Elisabeth and family very often!

If I were at the beach with you yesterday I would NOT be in the water with your daughter! I don't do ocean water, unless I'm just wading in the edge. I don't like how the sand always reaches those unmentionable places!
Have fun with the haircut! I need one, but am going to wait til Spring. We want to see pictures of your new do!

I can only imagine how cold it is up in a hot air balloon if it is that cold at ground level! I agree with you; there is no way I would go up in one on such a cold day! Actually, I'm not sure I would go up in one unless it were tethered off, LOL!

Yes, Mark is a sweetie! However, I would like to go out to eat at supper time rather than lunch. I rarely eat much during the day with my IBS. One good meal a day is really all I can handle! But suppers out are usually pretty expensive unless we find BOGO coupons!

The cabin is for our pit parties so the church ladies/older relatives have some place to get out of the cold. He is planning to have a heat source of some kind for it. We will have a table or two set up in there for people to eat at, too. And I still have a dish hutch at the parsonage that we want to put in there for storage. The finish is in bad shape so it won't hurt it to be down there, LOL! Other than that, he plans to have a hammock in it to "listen to the rain" on the tin roof and even spend some nights down there. I said to him, "I hope you are not expecting me to spend any nights down there!" He isn't, LOL!

Good Afternoon!!
I've been answering personals, but just realized the clock is now in the afternoon time frame, LOL!

Still no mojo to do any scrapping! I did start another crochet pattern for Ilene's great grandchild due in May. I posted the link above in a response to Chris.

I woke up with a headache but it seems to be going away. I've been out of caffeinated coffee this week so I'm thinking that might be part of the problem, but who knows with me, LOL! I need to eat something, too, and that might help!

I want to clean out the cabinets in the bathroom today so I can clear off the counter! That's the only real goal I have for today! So I'm going to go ahead and close this out and get busy......after I eat! Meatloaf is on the menu for tonight, but that is questionable at the moment! I'm not a big meatloaf fan but DH sure is! So was Tim! The Lord blessed me with 2 good husbands! Both alike in a lot of ways.....hearing problems, hard workers, big time "meat and potato" eaters, love of family, kids and grandkids.......yes, I am blessed more than I deserve, that's for sure!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I need to shower and get dressed, then get on with my day b/c I have some CT stuff to do and chores. This afternoon the dogs go to the groomer for nail clipping. No photo walk today but I'm happy to stay home.

Took Jen to the only organic natural store we have here. It's not as big as the one we used to go to in Vancouver but not bad for a local store. Prices of course were insane but not much we can do about that. I loaded up on keto bread, bagels and buns. I then found a jar of parmesan spread/dip that I tried out at dinner last night. I put buttered keto bread in the air fryer and crisped/browned it up and then spread some overtop. What a yummy addition to my dinner (konjac noodles, mushrooms, beef and spicy spaghetti sauce). I've got enough for leftovers tonight. D can have a burger and salad. Super easy.

@faerywings It seems random as to what products don't get here to Kamloops. Things come and go. We never know what we will or won't find. We found organic cauli yesterday for $3.50 a head. So, cheap for here, organic and WTH? Why did that store have it and no other? Makes no sense but happy to have found some LOL.

@LSlycord I saw some of your beach photos. Looked like a wonderful day. Having grown children is great, I love to hang out with Jen and always have fun with our other 2 when we see them too but unfortunately one is far away and will probably never get out here and the other is back on the coast so will only come out a few times a year. Thank goodness for FB for keeping connected.

@BrightEyes I can relate to the scrapping mistake. I can't remember all the times I've goofed, it happens.

@vickyday I'm sure the scrapping mojo will come back. Caffeine withdrawal is nasty. Hope you feel better.

I'd better get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Good afternoon.

It's 49 degrees and sunny here. I wish it would get back up in the 60's again. Looks like it's going to hang around in the 50's for a week or so though. I'll take that over cold and snowy.

It's been quiet around here. Adrienne and Ava had to go back to work Tuesday and they've been slammed. Adrienne popped in early yesterday evening with some yummy chicken tortellini for us and then Alyssa walked in about 8 with some chocolate pecan pie for Chuck. I just smelled it, but I can't eat anything like that - I'd have been up all night. He loves sweets and they all know it. He got a fork and started eating it before Alyssa even left. We were both laughing at him.

Chris @faerywings that new game sounds like a lot of fun. We need to get some new games. We'd have a ball with that one - throwing cards - yes! LOL We get very wild and crazy like I know you all do. I hope your mom's bd visit goes well. Maybe she would open up more to Cait? Has Cait tried really talking to her? I know they have a special bond like Ava and I have. Ava has always said that we just "get each other".

Kay @BrightEyes I'll bet you all had a ball - two tables playing cards. Oh boy. When we all used to go to Mom and Dad's - there were a bunch of us. We used to play "Spoons". That really got wild - we used to literally be fighting over a spoon. We bent so many spoons up - it got vicious.

I hope your niece gets to stay for a few days.

Linda @LSlycord I loved seeing your beach pictures on FB. We loved to go to the beach in the wintertime. They were packed during "season" though. It used to be such a pain to be able to enjoy the beaches when it wasn't blistering hot, but they were so jammed that we couldn't even find a place to park - especially Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel! It used to gravel me that residents got no breaks at all. We lived there year-round but were chopped liver during season. We even had to pay "season prices". I bitched to one of the parking lot attendants one time and he said he totally understood, but his hands were tied. They really price gouged.

Waving to everybody. I need to get off here and get a few things done. I finished up Vicki R's pre-release before I got on here. That's probably going to be about it for today, I might try to do a challenge later.

HAGD
XOXO
