So happy its Thursday ;)

5 am came way too quickly again. I still don't understand what make my body impossible to get out of bed on weekdays but bam! Weekends, I am wide awake and can't get back to sleep. Its sooo weird!

So yesterday was an oddly productive yet unsatisfying day. My client is a flake! I got my neighbor's son off to the bus, then headed over to her house. She comes to the door, looking at me like I have two heads. (I do get that reaction quite often, but this time it was different). She said that she had me down for coming on Thursday. I had made it very clear to her that I have a client that I have on Thursdays but I had Wed's open. I said that it was the day the kids go back to school after break. You think that with all of those kids, she would be very much aware of when they went back to school. She wasn't ready for me, so I turned around an went home. :(
But that gave me to opportunity to work on my house. Tree is down, all decorations are in the attic, and I stripped the beds and did three loads of laundry. Didn;t make any money, but at least that is done.

I am kicking myself too. I knew she was a bit flaky and I should have contacted her the day before to verify the time. But I didn't. Now I know better. I am thinking that this one just might not work out.....

Today, my mom is coming up. She is getting me new dishes for Christmas. The ones I have are in two batches- one is from when we first got married, the other is about 15 years old. Those are my Mickey Mouse dishes and I only have a few left. She was able to track down a discontinued pattern of Mickey dishes but doesn't order stuff online so that is the plan today. Yay!! They are really cute (how can anything Mickey not be cute??) and it will be nice to eat off of something new for a change :hungry:

I also get to go to the pharmacy- new year and Gary is not in the Medicare donut hole anymore, so yippeeeee! All of his meds that ran out at the end of the month will be at co-pay price, not full price! (Its the little things that keep me going.... haha!!!!)

Temptation on Thursday:
I want to grab Nana and take that vacation to Florida!

Oh my Laurie, you have more exercise dedication than anyone I know! I haven't been on a scale since before Christmas and I am not sure I want to do that right now either.

Nancy- High fives to your son!!!!! Scott helped me get the boxes into the attic yesterday and wow, that felt great. Hope your son sticks with it longer than mine most likely will.

Phyllis- your day sounded heavenly!! The alone part!! LOL Both Gary and I were crabby yesterday and it makes it tough on both of us. I think I drive him crazy too, so I guess we are even.
Hope today is fun, whatever you do.

Trudy- you have a nice attitude about work- being wioth your friend and then only the one weekend. Hope inventory goes quickly!

Idiot computer...just lost a long and happy post. Now grumbling to myself that Trudy is right...I need a Mac! I really would like to have an audience with Bill Gates today! This Microsoft 8 is stupid!

Anyway back to a short but happy post...
 
Kids go back to school today...the next couple of hours will probably not be pleasant.

But 5 weeks from today I wake up in Maui for my first day on the beach. And 6 weeks from today, I am still there. I need to find a beach smiley.

I bought a Dyson last night. Opened an email from Best Buy and they had it on sale...normally $650 and only $300 last night.

I also had an Instagram made into a 12x12 canvas at CanvasPop. Very anxious to see what happens. They had a special offer...and a coupon yesterday...so the price was good. I'm now anxiously awaiting the opportunity to see the real thing!
 
whoa, is it COLD!!! my humidifiers can't keep up with the furnace, for some reason, so can a nosebleed be far behind? eeeeeep.

Chris, jettison The Flake. i have the feeling you're going to be getting that "who the heck are YOU??" look fairly often....

Linda, i will NEVER upgrade to Windows 8. if i ever "have to," that's the point at which i change to a MAC. i have HAD it with upgrades and "improvements." they're making me crazy. i STILL haven't installed PSE 11.

i have no idea what i'm going to do today. maybe tackle Hubby's closet. my son sent an email telling me he's going to SKYPE me later, but, of course, with no time mentioned, so i have to hover near the computer this afternoon, waiting.

wow, do i hate January. it's SUCH a letdown after December. and it's guaranteed that the weather will immediately take a dive after Christmas around here. i keep telling myself: just get through January and February and it's all downhill to spring from there!!

Phylis, my mom used to say, "If we can just make it through February, we will have made it through winter." She didn't care if we had snow in March because it was going to melt and give us spring. I think that is why I have taken February vacations both years since her death...it's my way of making it through February!
 
Morning O's!

It's January and feels like it.................brrrrr! Funny how we are all ready for those spring temps!

Got motivated and put all the Christmas decor away yesterday. I like that it is now down and put away, but hate that empty feeling in the rooms now that always lingers for a bit.

Today I'm finishing a painting project and cleaning my scrap room...............it is time to part with more of the paper items and will pass them on to a few paper scrappers who are excited to be the recipients.

Back on the exercise schedule again.................just like all the other people who showed up yesterday!!:)

Off to check the new O challenges for January.

Good morning - again I was up at 4 am to watch hockey LOL - I am crazy - good thing I am retired and can nap in the afternoons. But the game was AWESOME (sorry Trudy) the USA defeated Canada 5-1. And now Sat they play for the gold medal. I am happy I got my last page done for my project 365. I even have about half of the pages printed and in a binder. Still going to be taking at least a photo a day. Not sure what other project I am going to do but thinking of 13 photos on the 13th of each month. And yes it is cold here in NJ. I do want summer to come but I love Feb as it has so many holidays (my birthday, my sister's birthday, Valentine's Day, Lincoln Birthday and Washington's birthday) and is a short month. And this year for the first time I can ever remember my birthday is Ash Wednesday.

I can say that having a MAC is the way to go. Sorry about all the Windows 8 problems.

Chris yes I hope our sons continue to be helpful. Your client is a flake!

Linda your upcoming trip sounds so wonderful.

I'm off to take the car in and then to the doctors appointment with hubby.

Morning all... brrrr its cold and foggy here this morning, hubby had to take my Van to work, his truck has to be parked outside because its too big to fit in the garage and he could not get the doors open on it, they are frozen solid!! So I guess I am stuck home until the temps warm up a bit and the doors can be opened. My sister Wendy's birthday today and would love to go have a visit with her, perhaps lunch with both of my sisters would be nice, will have to see if we can arrange that today. Otherwise not much on the agenda today. Still waiting to see what hours I work for this inventory weekend :mmph: wish my boss could get his act together!!

Chris - I say dump the flake!! There has to be many other clients that would love to have your services!! Your Mom is awesome for getting you new dishes!! You will have to show us a pic of them when they arrive! Nice that you got your own house nice and clean and tidy yesterday, sorry that you and Gary were grumpy with each other though, it must be hard to stay out of each others hair when you are together every day!! :hug:

LindaS- Sorry that your new computer gives you such trouble! Hope you get windows 8 figured out !! My hubby won't use my Mac, I think he is afraid of it, but I love it and was happy to hand over my old computer to him. How wonderful that your holiday is quickly approaching , you must be so excited to go!! February is a great time to go somewhere warm, it really helps to get over those winter blues!! Now if one of us could just win the lottery we could all join you there for a Mai Tai or two!!

Phylis - Hope your son doesn't keep you waiting by the computer all day long!! But that must mean that you get to talk to the grandmen right? I had a nice long talk with my grandkids last night , so sweet!! Little Sadie is always running around the house without any clothes on, darn girl hates to wear clothes!! Isaac told me all about his ski lesson, what a lucky boy he is!! I hate January too, but it means that we are getting closer to spring, hope you find something fun to do today!!

Donna - Nice to get Christmas all put away for another year! It does seem bare in the rooms though doesn't it? Good for you for getting back to your exercise routine, I need a good kick in the butt to get going on one, no motivation to do anything lately!!

Nancy - Wooot !! Congrats to your team USA! I know that you must have been jumping up and down in your living room :becky: There will be many unhappy Canadians !! We love our hockey here and it will be disappointing, but I am so happy for you! Wow! lots going on in Feb for you! Busy month for us also, with hubby's birthday, DD's birthday and our anniversary. Morning O fam- I stayed away so I would make myself work in the basement- I can't wait for my room to be culled so I can put it together and then play/work in it. Despite the cold - did you see that Santa's face stuck to the storm door? I posted the pic on facebook - I have been in the basement with sun streaming in the glass block windows. I have been finding treasures, learning to let go and sorting into function - stamping- papers- memory book stuff- photos and give away. I am getting ready to do a live exercise program online, then lunch, more cleaning - MMG is staying on the road till tomorrow, so I won't have to stop at a set time today. I am also taking some play breaks and need to upload today, too tired when I got home last night.
 
mornin' beautiful ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to pack up all the kids and take a run to town for errands. I made it back in once piece. WOW what a chore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm feeding the baby... "Look Mommy, no hands!" LOL hahahahha good thing this kid is latched on good, I feel so talented after having so many kids! If it wasn't so obscene, I'd video this, so you could appreciate how I am using both hands to type whilst the little one is drinking his fill ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I'm THAT good. Canada has talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, ok, wish I could do some scrapping but it took me a couple of hours to do stuff up town this morn... so now I HAVE to clean the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KIDS ARE BACK AT SCHOOL (yesterday) :whoo: Mike and I have been getting all the Christmas stuff put up and cleaning the house and running errands....So now I think we can relax just a bit....good thing....none of us still feel very great...that stomach bug must have been a real man hater, because Mike is still messed up from it...so is Geoff (Sharon's husband)....and I am a very raw sore throat and horrid cough...SINUS!!! Kids are good though...they feel awesome...and are happy to be back at school.

I need to mop the floors and last thing to take down from Christmas, my Christmas cards...all the wonderful O cards from around the world, I hate to take them down!! I think I might just leave them up through Jan.....I have been thinking on a scrap page for them....scanning them and doing something with them....Keep sake forever...because I am no pack rat and I will eventually throw them out....will be a few years I am sure, but I always do.


Oh....forgot to share the Christmas HOME DISASTER...seems to be a yearly thing....one year is was our hot water heater went bad, one year the drain from the kitchen and bathtub both clogged up so bad, we had to get professionals to come in and fix it...and so on....this year....the washer sprung a leak...flooded my laundry room floor (glad I have my laundry room in the basement with a drain)...new washer for us. Wasn't in the budget, but what can you do?? got have clean clothes.


Despite all...I am very optimistic and feel good about the new year. I am ready to start scrapping again...but gotta take some photos first...well, I even need to edit and download my December photos..yes............I am a little behind!!


Well...I am off...need to take some more cough medicine...and get Jesse ready for his basketball practice!!

Horray Nana you get to scrap again!!!!!! That is great news! Sorry your yearly disaster happened again this year!! But a nice new washing machine is great! Hopefully your dryer lasts a while longer!!! Just got back from a very late but delicious lunch with my sisters, had the shrimp and avocado sandwich with side salad..... oh so goooood!!!!!!!!!!!!!
