I survived the snow day grocery shopping trip with *both* kids. Aside from getting run over a couple of times by Scott pushing the cart, it went ok. I didn't end up with too many extra bags of junk food at all.
And I was good too- I got off my feet for about an hour and read my "Between the Plums" book from the library. Gotta love Stepahnie Plum for some light, funny, and quirky stories.

Off to my MIL's to work today, yay! (I meant that sincerely too.)

Laurie- i hope that the salary to hourly change works out for you. I think it will from how late you always end up staying. At the very least, hopefully it will help you to feel like you are not being taken advantage up but having to put in all of those extra paperwork-hours.

Linda S-- are your reports almost done for work? Hope so b/c it cannot be good for you that you get up at 3 am to get work done.Not good at all
WTG on getting your photos taken every day! I wish instagram had an app for Windows phones. I had it on my old android phone but this windows phones doesn't have it.
Are you taking pics of the house as it gets painted too? Would love to see!!

Trudy- yay that you are feeling better!!! Not so yay for the dentist but IMHO, eye exams are worse than pap smears and dentists are behind both of them LOL Of course I haven't been to the dentist in years, so the next time I go it will be brutal.
Your DD is 21 weeks already??? Wow!!!!! How has she been feeling? Is she getting really excited/nervous/both? How about you?
Party is tonight? Get stinking drunk and then try to teach him about Math skills and People skills that are necessary for making people's work schedules. :madgrin:

Oh, Laurie, I missed the salaried to hourly thread. I sure wish for hourly when I am up at 3 in the morning working. :-( But don't know how I would feel about it in the long run.

Trudy, I need to check out the gallery to see if you got a layout made with your daughter.

I'm sure that the half price tickets for the hockey games helped to make up for the fact that they have ruined your winter Nancy.

LindaS, i actually was thinking about you in the middle of the night, wondering where you were!! working at 3 a.m. is too much! when i'm up at that hour, i'm not working at ANYTHING! take it easy, wherever possible.

Nancy, i'll believe the Penguin predictions when i see how they come back to the season. a lot of crazy people (like the new arena was totally FULL) turned out last night to watch a scrimmage!! it's so cool of the Devils to do halfprice tix.

Trudy, HOORAY!! yay that you're feeling better AND that you had a day off AND that you have the opportunity to get boozed up as you (in your head) tell the old manager not to let the screen door hit him in the a## as he leaves. i really hope you tell the NEW manager what YOUR rules are for staying, right at the outset.

Laurie, take care about the "hourly" thing. it could be an entry point for them to begin TELLING you how many hours you're ALLOWED to work. that seems to be the way of things these days.

Terry, did you find out where your son traveled to?? kids. i swear. they think they're so smart. you'd think they'd understand eventually that Moms have radar and a Sixth Sense!

no, Chris. i haven't tried to lie down in a bed for about a week. i have a gastro apt. in Feb. hopefully this will eventually resolve itself. i really think one of my numerous adhesions from surgeries got ripped when i turned over. although i doubt there's anything that can be done about that, i'm placing my faith in TIME, the Great Healer. if not, it's the recliner for me, ad infinitum.... :mmph:

got some errands to run and strange pieces of things to try to find in hardware stores.

Morning all - up and about cleaning. I am not sure what will happen with it(salaried to hourly). I need 36 hours to be salaried (which I already work to get my paperwork done) but was salaried at 34. My guess is once they figure it out, they will salary me at 36 hours. I am not too worried, as I already took a non-paid lunch so my actual time at the job will not change. I guess they will find out how much I have really been working. As for accruing time off at a lower rate, well I already have 4 weeks worth accrued from last year, so unless I get really sick or hurt- which could happen, I will be okay with that too. I have a reputation as being excellent at my skill set of pediatric therapist and know I could get a job elsewhere if need be. So that said I am planning on having a marvelous day- sadly MMG called to tell me he is feeling sick- guessing two bedrooms/two beds may be a good thing-grrr

Morning everyone!! Actually feeling human again!! So nice to not have the coughing spells they were exhausting !! :faint: Dentist appt took almost 2 hours, had the full treatment , xrays, cleaning, bone loss measurements, and exam. Have to have a filling replaced and more scaling done. My cost??? zero dollars, gotta love my hubby's dental plan!!! Got a lecture for waiting for so long to go back to the dentist, its been over a year. I couldn't believe it!!! Well won't let that happen again, because my mouth was very sore for the rest of day!

Chris - Say hi to your MIL!! She sounds like such a nice lady!! You are lucky to have such a great MIL! Hope my DIL thinks I am great too, but I don't get to see her often enough to really know what she thinks of me?? :sad: Love your Maxine cartoon!! She's one of my fav's!! :becky: Isn't coffee grand!! Looking forward to saying hast a la vista to my boss tonight, should be interesting to see what everyone else will say to him too! Yes my little girl is halfway to her due date already, still working on that layout but hope to have it done in a jiffy. Did you see the one I did in Challenge 5 ?

LindaS - Please come and be my new boss!! I think you would be awesome to work for!! I bet my old boss never, ever got up at 3 in the morning to do anything!! You are so dedicated, although I think maybe a bit crazy too for getting up that early on purpose LOL

Phylis - Ha, Ha, would love to really tell my boss to not let the screen door hit him in the ass on the way out!! I love that saying, guess I better watch my alcohol intake or you never know, my mouth might get me into big trouble, the owners of the store will also be there and for some reason they seem to really like him???? Oh well I feel sorry for the employees of this new store in Revelstoke! Hey I could help you find those strange pieces you are looking for in the hardware store! :becky:

Well gotta get that layout done and then bathrooms to clean today, but not much else going on today, looking forward to just enjoying another day off and then back to work friday, weekend off!! Good afternoon ladies...

Well I never made it yesterday...I started out with an 8 am appt with the Eye Dr...so...all the tests they always do, my eyes were tired and I was tired...so I took a nap and then just felt BLAH the rest of the day...


Today...I went with Sharon to take Savannah to the Dr....she had an appt at 8 for a recheck on her ear infection....it's still infected.....another round of abx!! then we rushed next door to the hospital for OT....Savannah's first appt for her anxiety, social and emotional stuff going on....I got to see what Laurie does That was a 2.5 hr session....I learned a lot myself....maybe to help with the kiddos here.


Now I am waiting for the bus....they are getting out two hours early today....it's been raining all day and temps are falling....so they are worried about freezing....

Nana I am sure there is much you will learn, one of my kiddos has an emotion chart with smileys that change from happy to volcano-the ultimate meltdown. Caregiver is now bringing the chart every where the pt goes. I asked the pt yesterday when I messed up and was not perfect if I should be a volcano- sadly the answer was NO! I hope you get tools that will make life better for all of you.

Ooooh...I don't think I could list the kids under volcano...that would be ME :laugh:

We definitely did learn that with Savannah, we have to figure out how to keep her focused and not get frustrated because she can't be in control of everything. She gave me a pattern to make the "Heavy Cozy Blanket"....she used that on her for about 30 minutes and that did help her stay calm...and the simple tool of CHEWING GUM.....I think Sharon and I will be investing in a lot of gum for all these kids!! And the ankle weights during play time....Jaiden could benefit from those tremendously.....I told her about our situation here and that I do have all four kids at times...she suggested to me that I get the small trampolene for the house....she said she uses it at her house almost every morning to help her kids get off to a good start for the day.

She said she would like for Savannah to come for about 5 sessions, more for Sharon and myself to learn the tools....then see how she is doing and decide if she needs to keep coming back.

Was going to say good morning--but it's afternoon! Where has the morning gone?

Chris--glad you get to work at MIL's today. Your days always sound so busy. I often wonder how you do it?

Phyllis--the kid said he just went cruising. The way I figure it, it was 150 miles of cruising.

Laurie--getting paid by the hour is good and bad. Good so you don't get abused by working long hours and not compensated. I'm a salaried person here. Sometimes I wish I were hourly.

Nana--don't see how you do it. It's tough raising kids but even harder when they have issues. Even harder when you are the nana! You are a saint!

Had my eyes examined yesterday. It's been forever since my last exam. Now need to make time to go get new glasses.

Started work early (6AM) cause I want to golf this afternoon with a buddy--one of my docs. Tonight Craig and I are attending an Emmaus gathering at 6:30--40 miles from here. Have missed the last 3 gatherings so it is about time we go.

Need to pack my motorhome tonight. Heading out of town tomorrow at noon to go visit my son and his family. We try to see at least one basketball game per season--my son is the varsity basketball coach.

Oh--bought a book on amazon--how to use my new camera. I'm hoping I learn something!!

Gotta get back to work! hope your day is wonderful
