I won a million gazillion dollars!
Ha! I wish! Nope, but I *did* make an appt with a dentist, filled out all of the digital paperwork, and am ready to go on Monday. The office is highly recommended and in town, just a 5-minute drive from me. Hallelujah!
[OT-Grumbling: It should be a 5-minute drive. It would be if not for the stupid detour on the street that I use to go just about anywhere. The "center" of my town is a big square and the four main roads are connected by Stop or Yield Signs. It's much easier to go around town making all of the right turns but with the detour, I have to go opposite and make all left turns. I know. So silly to grumble about it, and first-world problems and all that. But it is going to be a PITB for 6+ months. :tongue3:]

Back to being happy about the dentist! :D
I was happy about that and happy that I had Scott and Sam here for dinner. They brought a card game that is fun and ridiculous and doesn't require much thinking or energy so it was the perfect end to the day. The two of them visited my parents for lunch and came back saying what a nice time they had. Cait spoke to them on her way home from work and said the same thing. I'm definitely calling her today to get in on that "happy with each other action." LOL!

No plans today so I should work on cleaning the laundry room and packing the old towels to donate to the animal shelter or wherever needs them.

Sending all of you big hugs! xo

Digital decluttering here. I'm going to delete my Facebook & Instagram account on Saturday.
 Good job! I switched to Bluesky (no algorithm) last year and deleted IG. I wish I could get rid of FB but between CT work and actual work, I need to keep that one. I wish I didn't "need" it but have limited how much scrolling I do. FB is mostly ads and "recommended" pages anyway, so I focus on getting in, uploading my LOs, and getting out.
I started to go through my mail. Unsubscribed from tons of news letters, and I deleted over 14.000 e-mails yesterday.
:bowdown2:
That is awesome! I'm trying to do a little unsubscribing here and there and you have inspired me!
Do Cait and Tom eat dinner with you every night? I know you love it when your son is there!
Cait is here almost every night. Tom works until 9 pm most nights but is here Tues and Sun. Scott and Sam are off Tues/Weds so we try to have them here on Tuesdays when we can. I love having all my kids here. ♥
Good to hear that you are taking care of your back.

@BrightEyes Hope you stayed warm yesterday while you were out and about on the errands. I am done with these cold and windy days myself.
Granddaughter is 22 till May. She is our first grandchild and only girl so it is special and we are very close. I just wish we had warmer weather but it is still warmer than Connecticut so she will like it.
I bet you are going to have a blast! My friend was in Orlando visiting her DD for Christmas and said the same, It was cooler than usual in FL but was *wonderful* compared the the temps in NJ.
Sending good thoughts to your friend and that she continues to recover quickly.

@vickyday Hmm, I wonder if Ilene was ok with going to Olive Garden with you :thinking2: LOL!
My brother's obituary was in the paper last night, another shock to the system seeing that!
(((((((hugs)))))) I can't imagine :brokenheart:
I hope that the hike was wonderful and helped you get out of your head for a little while. Nature is such a huge reset for me and I know it is for you too. xo

@bcgal00 Good for you on the meal planning. I like how you scheduled it, that you just have to fill in the open slots with the right type of recipe. I looked for The Grace Year on Hoopla and Libby and they don't have the ebook. I rarely go to the library and now I won't want to-- *grumbles some more about having to make all left turns through town* :D

@AK_Tracy I was wondering where you were yesterday, glad it was just "regular busy" and nothing medical for you or more power outages.
What I hate the most is news info is on fb only. Even the news websites (small town sites) dont put everything online but they sure do on fb.
FB was the only way to get updates when my town was on fire a few months ago. That irritates me b/c you get so used to the instant flow of information that you want it all of the time, whether it is relevant or not. YKWIM?
Also, I've started to read more, to re-learn to use my brain (Shut up Chris! I know what you thought!) in other ways. Now I start my day with a book & a cup of tea.
I love your brain. It's your taste buds that I have issues with. :rollingpin1:
The hardest part for me will be to not share. It's like stuff isn't really done, until I've posted about it. To battle that feeling, I've started a project that I've named "Revisiting my stash" - meaning I make layouts with old designs, that I no longer can post on-line since the designers aren't in any stores. (Yes, I know there are places where I could post if I want to, but I'm limiting myself to three store galleries nowadays). It's a great challenge for me.
That's really cool!! It will force to you be creative for yourself, not to promote anyone or anything. I'm happy for you!

Kay- that's such a long day for all of the errands and crowds. I hope you have no plans other than to read and scrap today.
Psst: I say you should ignore the chores, they can wait until tomorrow.

I don't mind clothes shopping if I have someone tagging along - I appreciate the brutal honesty, and the collapse into utter silliness about some of the fashions out there. It's something my mum and I used to do together when we lived in the same town.
That would make it fun. I hate clothes shopping so the "making fun" part would be a good change of pace.
Sadly, patience is something that I seem to have less and less of as I get older.

The back is not better today. Unfortunately. I feel a doctor appointment in the near future.
Ilene would be happy eating out or in! She just loves to eat!

Quick in and out.
The back is not better. I might just have to go to the doctor.
Just not feeling great. Prayers would be appreciated!
Have a good day.

We are on our annual Florida get-away. One week is always to whatever beach place I can get a timeshare trade into. Last year we were in Ormond Beach and I was SO IRRITATED that it was too cold to go out on the beach so I worked hard to get us someplace farther south. This year we have a delightful place in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; I love it! Although it's been cloudy some days, I've had a couple beautiful beach days and am looking forward to meeting an old friend for lunch today in Fort Lauderdale. After this we will be off to Ft. Myers to see my mom for a week, then we will be on a coast-to-coast bike tour, 250 miles from St Pete to Cape Canaveral.

And whoo-hoo for me! I got my first Project Life page done for 2025. Took me hours to figure out how I want to use a new template style, and I'm sure I'll be changing things along the way, but I've started.

I switched to Bluesky (no algorithm) last year and deleted IG.
I went to Bluesky a year ago when you had to wait for an invitation, and I love it. No ads! No algorithm except what you choose! I've never been active on IG, so thanks for the reminder to delete that. I'm ruminating on how/if I can get off of FB, but it's the only place my mom, sibs, and cousins post. Also, it's where the organization of which I am president puts social media, so I have to keep tabs on that page. But I agree -- if I just go in to scroll the feed it's all ads and stuff pushed at me that I don't care about. Remember back in the day when you could look at FB and it was people you knew? I miss that, as my Bluesky feed is interesting because it's topics I've chosen, but it's not the personal stuff.

It's chilly here this year. My inlaws used to live in Lauderdale so we went to that area..it was nice just very busy.

Well yesterday we went to Tampa airport to pick up our granddaughter and out from behind a wall jumps our daughter "SURPRISE"
I am so happy to have both of them so we are off on adventures , so much fun. Today to Tarpon Springs for shopping and lunch then facial night at the club by Mary Kay. Tomorrow to Lowry Zoo for the day it should be pretty warm with some great photo-ops. Saturday breakfast with on old friend from CT by Sunday we will be ready for a quiet day.

@vickyday sorry to hear about your back. good luck. I will be thinking of you.

I have to use FB to keep in touch with friends/family. When we travel it's one place to post pictures/info so our Florida friends, our Connecticut friends/family and everyone in between can follow our adventures. It's a nice way to let everyone know where we are and make plans to see people along the way.

Have a great day ladies.

Good Morning O Fam.
Quick morning for me. Remember way back when the sunroof was leaking in my car? Yeah they finally (I think) have the. parts to fix it. They didn't call and. remind me of my appointment so I am a. bit unsure but its only 50/50 if they call. anyway.

Yesterday felt like winter. Was so beautiful to be in the. church kitchen and the snow swirling all around. Felt like being in a. snow globe. We didn't get much, just 3" but its now white and bright again. Was so nice driving home with more light reflecting.

Sounds like everyone has busy days planned. Have fun! Off to get coffee and take the car to the dealer.

Good morning ladies. I'm home for the morning and then out for lunch with the ladies. I took a steak out of the freezer for D's dinner (I'll have a buddah bowl). I'll get groceries later so I can make a ramen noodle dish for the potluck game night tomorrow. We finished Dune Prophecy and hope they make a second season.

I'll keep this short. Remi is whining softly at me and I just realized that she can hear the coffee maker gurgling (2nd pot) which means "doggy training time". Gotta go LOL.

Morning O friends! It is cloudy and grey out there this morning, but the sun is supposed to shine in the afternoon. I hope to get out on a walk in the sunshine later today. Yesterday's hike was amazing, everyone gave me a big hug and lots of condolences. Some of course do not know who my brother was, but most do as he and Veronica used to be very active in our hiking group. Lots of new people have joined and there were 30 of us on the hike yesterday. Some of us think its getting a bit too big and its hard for the Hike Leader to keep tabs on everyone. Not sure what we should do about it though, unless we start having two hikes with two leaders?? I managed the hike very well and was surprised that I did not find it difficult at all. It was a beautiful day with full sun and warm temps for January and we had a snack beneath some old huge satellite dishes that have been decommissioned. I remember them being built way back when I was in high school, it was a pretty big deal back then.

This is one of them there are many more scattered around the mountain. Anyway I have been face timing with Heather and need to now get going with my day. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! :waving3:

Wow... had quite an unsettling evening... went to bed and fell asleep before 9PM. I was startled awake at 11PM by a phone call on my landline. Caller ID show "Emergency Alert Action Call" with a 800 number. But when I answered there was silence.. no voice or recording. Our city does have a "Red Code" system to alert in case of fire, gas leak, crime or other emergency near by. I was going to call the number back but accidently hit erase from my caller-ID instead of redial. I then got up and checked on TV and on-line to see if there was an emergency near... nada. Needless to say, I had a hard time falling back asleep... and I woke up before 5 AM and checked the news. NADA... Been feeling unsettled all day!!!
