Even though Feb is several days shorter than January, it felt so much longer to me. Anyone else feel that way? Jan flew by, Feb took twice as long. pleasepleaseplease let March go quickly.

I always dread going to the FP, I guess I still feel weird even though it has been two years. But as soon as I call the Office and speak to the women who is a total doll to me, I feel so much better. My name comes up on the Caller ID, so she even answers the phone with a Good morning, Chris!!! She was alone in the office so I was able to get a couple of extra things, some cheese and crackers and more coffee. And tiny little pasta that looks like 1 cm lasagna pieces. Why I got such a kick out of these, I dunno- but they are cute.;)

I started my taxes and I am going to have to track down the kids' tuition forms. I have always gotten them in the mail and I should have three this year since Cait went to 2 schools- the 2-year and 4-year. I think it has to do with the new tax bill since you can't claim a lot of the old deductions? I will have to do some research to figure that out. After a couple of hours of that, I ended up with a headache and gave up.
I read for a half hour in the afternoon and teased Gary that I could get used to that. I think that I feel guilty since the only place that I can usually read in peace is in bed. But man, it felt so good snuggled under the covers with my book.

Today I am going to scrub out the fridge since I didn't get to it yesterday. I also need to make an appt to get my hair cut/colored. It is in *really* bad shape. Last time I had it done was in August. Yikes.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Nancy- good for you for getting to go for a walk! Even though it must have been freezing, I bet it felt amazing to be moving. That is a hard line to follow of doing stuff but not overdoing it at the same time.
BA must have been a savior in your house since your surgery even more than it was before :hungry:
I watched a little of the Cohen hearing while I was working on the taxes. All I can say is that if one small thing he said was about Obama, what a different situation it would have been. I hate playing the "Can you imagine if... Game" but darn it when I do... *sighs*

Trudy- that isn't wimping out, that is being smart and wanting to stay warm and dry! I am glad that you finished the LO but I understand the "emptiness" that you feel when your creativity is kaput. I am living that every day.
That is a bummer about not getting the meal that you were wishing for, but maybe he can bring you there for Mother's Day or your birthday. You are an inspiration and it must have made you all happy inside to hear your kids say that.
How is Hunter doing, no bruises?

Rae- I wish I had your energy levels and org skills. I say it all of the time, but I seem to have no luck/motivation to get there. Three weeks until Spring!

hugs to all of you!

Hi everyone.
I had a bad day yesterday, which ended in a horrible headache. I don't often get headaches, but when I do it will last for at least 2 days. The third day it will be gone. It's tension from my neck, the muscle's there cause the headache. I've put some pain ointment on my neck, hopefully that will help too. At least I know it will be over Saturday.
Next I will start a fysiotherapy called haptonomy. Maybe that will help me to get some of the tension and pain out of my body.
I did not get through to the second round of the job application I did. I have 1 more going, think I will here from that next week, but I don't think they will invite me either. Really sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it.

But enough about the bad stuff. Does not do anyone any good to cry about it for too long. I always feel that when we reach March life is getting more sunny and a lot lighter. January and February are long months, so I can relate to your feeling Chris.

I will also have to start on taxes. Hate it, but there is nothing special for us, so it will be done in an afternoon. There is not much anymore to deduct in the Netherlands. The Government rather received money then give it to the people.
I also watched a bit of the Cohen hearing. Must say, American politics have never been so exiting as these last two years, but I think that will feel different for you. Don't forget though, American first, but the Netherlands come second. If you don't know what I'm talking about I will explain tomorrow.

But I feel I'm still not very cheerful. Taxes and politics are not topics to get a lot of joy from.
So I will end with sharing some spring flowers I have in my house. I don't know what it is, but everytime I look at them I do feel a bit happier :)

Morning ladies... It is a blah day here, clouds and still very chilly. Today is the last day of February thank goodness!! This month has dragged on long enough!! Yes Chris I know exactly how you feel!! It has been the coldest February on record for us here on the Island and we are all ready for the warmer weather to come! :gaah: hurry up already!! Not much happening around my house today. I will hit the gallery and hopefully find some great inspiration and maybe, just maybe I will work on a page for the upcoming March challenges. I also want to try mixing some more colours for Heather's painting. I just can't seem to get the colours right for this one. :mmph: I will go swimming tomorrow as the pool seems to be a bit more quiet on Fridays. I should make a list for our Costco run on Saturday too. I am looking forward to also going to Michaels to pick up some more canvases and paints :bliss:

Chris - You should not feel weird about going to the FP, it is wonderful that you are able to have access to it! It sounds like the woman who works there is a lovely soul! I am happy that you got to get the things that you needed! Good luck with cleaning your fridge! Such an awful tedious job! One that I put off for as long as I can! I hope you are able to track down the forms that you need for your taxes, another job that is no fun, but it's gotta be done! Oh and Hunter is fine, no bumps or bruises, but man that kid sure can cry LOUD!! He is a real drama queen too, if he doesn't get his way he just flops down on the floor and wails away!! It's actually hilarious to watch!! Hope he gets over that soon LOL!

Heather is calling me for a facetime with her and Hunter so I will come back later to catch up with you all in a bit

Good morning, ladies. Going to get to work soon b/c Jen is coming by for a visit later so I'll take a break then. We have a family mtg with the hospital team on Tues morning so we want to discuss strategy. They still don't have any idea where to put her and want to release her home so they can wipe their hands clean of her. So sad. She needs a lot of care and no one seems to be able to provide it.

Later I'll take Taz in for a nail clipping if I can squeeze it into my day. I meant to do it last wk but still haven't had a chance to bring him in.

Chris - it's lovely that the woman remembers you and is so kind. The fridge reminder...I need to do that too. The older I get the less house chores I want to do....ugh.

Jeannette - for your headaches, have you ever tried a drop of peppermint oil on your temples? I find it helps when I get a headache. Flowers make me happy too.

Trudy - I agree with you, this month has dragged on, time for some warmer weather (unfortunately that'll also mean a lot of rain...ugh). If it does warm up and the snow all melts then at least Taz and I can get back out there jogging again. Have a good FT chat with the family.

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

good morning - I am back from pt and she gave me exercises to do at home. She is really helping me succeed. I am glad that we are having more daylight! Hard to believe that Feb is over. I have been watching this new channel I found by accident as I just flipped through channels. Anyway it shows the old westerns I grew up watching on TV as a kid. The High Chaparral and the Virginian and every once in a while I find Laramie. Yesterday on the High Chaparral Kurt Russel is a 17 year old. And then on the Virginian they main guest star is now the main character Victor Newman on the Young and the Restless. It cracks me up to see them so young and then I remember how old that must make me LOL. But I love these westerns. The High Chaparral still has some of the shows outside stuff in Tuscan and you can visit. Well my poor Devils have so many injured forwards that one of my defensemen had to be a forward. I only had 3 veteran NHL players as forwards and the rest were AHL call ups. But still they played well and the final score was 2-1. The only horrible part was one of my players ended up crashing into the boards and was knocked out. They ended up stretchering him off the ice. The news though is good and has complete feeling and was alert but they took him to the hospital as a precaution. We don't have another game until Friday but the next two games are against stiff teams Philly on Friday and Boston on Saturday. It is good to see these young kids getting their chance. A rebuild is interesting. I like seeing these young hockey players get their chance to succeed. My DH is home sick again. He went in because he has a class but today nothing. Poor guy!

Chris you should not feel bad about going to the FP. The woman who runs this is amazing. It is starting to get lighter earlier and soon it will be daylight savings. Glad you had some me time reading that book. I cant even imagine doing my own taxes. I would have a headache before I even started. We ended up with a dusting of snow, did you get any? Sounds like more on the way. But I still believe spring will be here soon.

Jeannette your flowers are beautiful. I hope your headache fades soon! Thanks for saying that about walking - it is hard to find that line between too much and not enough.

Trudy that is an awesome hiking group in that if you show up they are happy. No pressure. Glad you have swimming for exercise too! I am loving all those painting. Cute LO of your shy grandson. He is a cutie. Also I hope that Boston is not too hard on my poor Devils on Sat. Cracked me up that your DH wanted to watch the end of the game. I would have been the same way. In fact I was at the Rock watching the Devils defeat the Rangers in OT on Adam Henrique's goal for the Devils to go to the Stanley Cup Final. My DH is awesome about that.

Jean sounds like you really are improving! Enjoy spring training games.

Waving! Have a great day all!

Rae your busy day always makes me smile. You are as I have said many time the most organized person I know. Love see Taz photos.

Some sunshine today is very nice though it is still cold. I'm still feeling OK but wish it were a lot better. I will certainly be glad when it isn't Feb. any more.

Chris, good luck with the refrigerator cleaning and finding form for taxes. What a pair of icky tasks! Hope you get in something nicer or some more reading.

Jeannette, so sorry for your pain and headache. Hope something will help end it before Sat. Thanks for sharing those lovely spring flowers! Really enjoy the photo.

Trudy, have fun shopping for canvas and painting stuff! Hope you get the colors to cooperate soon.

Rae, wishing you all a better family meeting with help for B and not apathy from the powers that be.

Nancy, glad you're able to enjoy this rebuilding phase. It does sound exciting actually, or at least as you tell it. The PT sounds positive and you seem to be doing so well.

Quick pop-in today. Slept in until 8:30... but that was because I read until midnight! I read "In Pieces" a bio by Sally Field. Let's just say that I read it from start to finish in one sitting. It certainly kept my attention all the way through.

We are having above normal temps this week... into the high 50's - mid-60's. I see a few buds forming on the trees so spring might be arriving soon. Must admit that it was nice to be without a jacket on yesterday afternoon. But we have winter weather in mid-to-late March before. Oh, right... daylight savings time will be here soon. Not looking forward to adjusting the bod to the new time. Hoping our state legislature will pass the bill taking us off the change.

Chris, sounds like you got some good stuff from the FP. Ugh on cleaning the fridge. Not one of my favorite jobs... and I need to do mine soon.

Jeannette, so sorry about your headache.. and that it lasts so long. Hope you get some relief from it quickly.

Nancy... so glad the PT is helping. Yes, trying not to over do is the big thing.

Jean, sending you a hug and hoping you get back to feeling normal.

Trudy, glad you get some FT with Hunter. They grow up so fast at that age.

I am off to fill out more paperwork. Have to change number on the withholding forms and get them sent in. Not looking forward to seeing how the taxes end up this year. Maybe next year things will be settle down on that front. So many changes the past 2 years.

:sorry: I have been busy with the completion of the stairwell, putting the final coat of stain on some very hard to reach places. It will be officially done later today when it is dry and I can take off the tape. :bliss: I don't want to see another spindle or can of stain again for a long time!! Actually it really does look awesome and I am so happy that we did this! A huge job, but oh so worth the effort. Pictures tomorrow! I am off to have a visit with my sister Wendy and so I will not be able to catch up with personals, but will spend time doing that tomorrow for sure! Have a nice afternoon everyone!

Oh man I haven't been around for 3 days! I just pop in to check on any new info then pop right back out. I have been working on masking and texture skills which has may attention fully.

I am the landscape person for the complex and that has me busy organizing spring stuff. That's it. That is all that is new with me.
