Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! I love you all! I really do  This is another of the days that I don't "celebrate" - Hallmark Holiday and all that- because every day is a good day to say I love you.

You know that you have had too many MRIs in the last few years when the guy who administers the test recognizes you right off the bat. An ankle MRI has to be the easiest one ever. They gave me headphones for some music, a heated blanket and I only had my feet in the tube.

The roads were fine but darn my driveway was a mess. It only has space for 4 cars but has a steep incline which makes it hard to get out of if it is icy/snow covered. I can't tell you how many times I almost fell on my butt trying to shovel the snow/ice. I couldn't even grab onto the cars for balance because they were covered with almost an inch of ice/snow. NJ has a law that cars must be cleared of all snow and ice before you get on the roads which always is fun when I try to reach the roof of my car. I wish they had the same rule for ice on tree branches, however. It was really freaky driving under the trees. Every time the wind blew a bit, the trees dumped chunks of ice onto my car. Made me jump every time even though I could see them falling down ahead of me.

I don't have anything happening today other than cleaning this afternoon. Well, I have to pay bills. Boo. Yesterday was Social Security Day but by the time I remembered that my brain was too pooped out to deal with numbers.
Does anyone have special plans for today? Cait and Brendan went into NYC last night for a special date. Scott is a Valentine's Day grump like me.

Wishing everyone a happy day no matter what you do!

Jeanette- haha! that would be brilliant about the wet kids and towels if it wouldn't get somehow thrown back at you.
Hope that you had a wonderful afternoon - did you read or scrap or maybe both? I don't think I even remember how to scrap anymore

Kay- how nice that you had a big group of friends (and leftovers!)
When my kids were little, they loved to run around with "nakey-butts" but I don't think that they would like that anymore LOL

Trudy- I am still in shock over how much snow that you got. Did the plows ever get through? I hope that you can get out a bit today, I would be stir-crazy too. Even if I didn't have anywhere to go, I get batty when I don't have the *option.*
I don't like the ice either but we will be abover freezing the next couple of days so hopefully, it melts and doesn't refreeze.
The last puzzle we did was only 500 pieces and we thought it was going to be so easy. The pieces were the craziest shapes. Cait has a "system" where she calls the parts nubbins, paddles, or flippers. We had a really hard time trying to figure out what to call the different parts b/s they were all so non-traditional. heh.

Nancy- When do you think you will be able to get out and about?
Sorry that the flights to Alaska are expensive.
My dad was always resistant about taking pain-killers before his PT but they said it is really important to be able to do the work. I hope that the pain is not too bad for you.
OMG- that is crazy and scary and thank-god it happened that way about your SIL! I bet that she is so happy to have had that mistake!

Felis- hope that you had a wonderful day!

Rae- what is wrong with your dog???????? LOL Why would he want to go into the water? I am shivering over here just thinking about it. He is such a nut and I love him. I am glad that someone is happy about snow hee hee! I love seeing all of the pics of him playing. Must make you so happy too.

Better get going... xoxoxo!

Morning O-zies!! So pretty outside, but dang it I am sick of all this snow!! More on the way today, so they say. :mmph: Then rain on Friday and more snow on Saturday!! :gaah: I think the groundhog lied !! Looking at the long range forecast is not good either with more snow coming on Tues and the rest of the week! Enough already!! Last night my sweet DH took me out for supper, guess he realized it was time to get me out of the house and see that there are other people out there LOL. We knew that we would never get into a restaurant on Valentines day so took a chance and went to our fav steak house, lots of others had the same idea, it was busy!! Talking to our waitress, she said it has been getting more like that the past few years. Busier the nights before Valentines Day and not so busy on the actual day. Who knew?? :noidea: So today I will be putting on the final coat of white paint on the spindles down the stairs. I have to say that it looks pretty good!! I am very happy with the way it is turning out! I will post a photo either later today or tomorrow. I hope to do another challenge page today also. DH is taking the day off tomorrow as he is going to his pre-op exam with the Dr. (eye surgery in April) and he is going to drop me at the pool before he leaves. Hooray I will finally be getting some kind of exercise other than shovelling :bliss:

Chris - Ugh on your slippery driveway!! It sounds like your driveway is like mine, such a horribly steep incline and no fun to try to maneuver when there is a bit of ice on it!! Yes the ploughs finally came to our hill yesterday, but just made a straight run up and down and scattered some ice melt. They did not do a area for turning around at the top, so we were all out shoveling that yesterday too :mmph: Oh well I know that they are overwhelmed with the amount of snow that we have! Love Caits names for the puzzle pieces!! I tend to think of them like that too, but I will have to remember what Cait calls them LOL. My Gary and I do not do Valentines Day either, we know how much we love each other and say it everyday!! We have worked too hard to waste money on Candy and Cards and Flowers and never could afford any of that stuff when the kids were little. I know I am a Valentine GRUMP!! LOL. We used to love making special things with them to give each other though. Hope your day of cleaning and paying bills goes smoothly!

Nancy - That is terrible that the prices for your flights are so expensive and that there are no direct flights!! Makes planning your trip so very frustrating!! :frusty: Hope that your PT appts go smoothly and with little pain! The story of your sisters mistaken MRI is incredible! What a miraculous mistake!! I had no idea that Maui had snow too?? I will have to check that out! Hope your Devils can start to win some games for you! Take care of you!!

Rae - OMG your Taz is just the cutest!! He sure does love the snow! Is the forecast for your area the same as ours for next week?? More snow today and then rain tomorrow and more snow all next week?? Hope you are not bogged down with work today and that this weather will not keep you from see B this weekend!

Felis - Sounds like you are busy with work and other things too! Hope you have a good evening!

Ok Heather is calling so I will come back later on this morning!

Good morning, ladies....Happy Valentine's Day! We don't go out and celebrate but we spend the evening hanging out and having a dinner together, so I won't be working late tonight. I'll pop over to our local butcher and grab a steak for D and chicken for me (or maybe fish) and I'll make a big salad. I'll find a dessert for D too. If I have time I'll pop a banana loaf into the oven for me. We'll watch a few movies together tonight. It'll be a nice relaxing night together.

It's still so cold here but the sun was out yesterday and melted a bit of the snow. We're supposed to more later today so I'll pop out in a few hrs and run my errands before it starts up again. It feels weird that I haven't driven my car in a week so it's about time I got out there.

Chris - glad the MRI was pretty easy to get thru. Enjoy your quiet day.

Trudy - hope you don't get too much snow. I'm like you, I enjoyed it at first, enjoyed the clear weather and no rain but I am getting tired of the snow and ice and want warmer temps (so I can complain about the rain again LOL). Interesting that a lot more people go out the day before VD than the day of. Makes sense tho. Have a good swim today, bet that'll loosen up the joints and feel great.

I'd better get to work for a bit before I head out shopping. Have a great day, everyone!

happy valentines day ladies

icy snow is finally going away but wouldn't you know it they say snow for tomorrow . even though i am in midwest now i am hearing so much about my old town Seattle on the national news with their snow. that city can not handle more than an inch or two and to have 14 inches - its gotta be real bad there but the dogs are loving it though( and so would have cooper if he was alive)

Finally had time to pop in and see how everyone is doing. Been a busy day for me. Got a couple of pages done for one of my designers... after I got my shower and dressed for the day. Then over to the Seniors' lunch at the church. It was lots of fun with lots of good food. Then next Friday, the seniors will be going across down to a barbecue place for lunch. Love their food there so hope I can make it. Then that night is a game night with others. Wow... sounds like a busy week.

Rain is on the way this afternoon/evening. But no snow or ice, thank goodness. May have snow by Monday and Tuesday. I sure feel for those of you dealing with all the snow... what a PITA.

Chris, we used to have a steep driveway and I hated to drive onto it during snow/icy weather. The one I have now has a slope but isn't real steep. Good thing as I am not up to shoveling the driveway. I usually just stay home when there is snow until it melts enough for me to get in and out.

Trudy, glad you are almost seeing the end of the stairwell painting. Know you will be glad when it is done.

Rae, an evening at home with your sweetie sounds like a wonderful way to spend time together. My DH and I didn't celebrate Valentine's Day as we told each other we loved each other every day.

Will be going out to dinner at Red Lobster on Sunday to celebrate DD#1's birthday. Haven't been there for over a year and a half. That used to be DH's and mine favorite place for dinner. Looking forward to it so much.

This is very late - I want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes. My family all did the same so it was very sweet. My DH got me to PT we were a tad late as he forgot he had to clean all the ice off the windshield LOL. And wow some of the exercises were the same but some were very different and yes she did make it hurt but that is ok I guess. I think that I did sleep better last night without the tramadol. I took it before PT and sure it was helpful. Today my Devils play the Blackhawks. Not sure how that will turn out. But I will be watching.

Chris glad the MRI was so easy. Sorry though that the tech recognized you. Your driveway sounds terrible. Where are your kids not getting out there to help you? The ice falling of branches does sound spooky.

Trudy sorry you are getting all this snow. Just so shocking that you are getting so much! Cant wait to see the photo of the banister.

Rae I love the photos of Taz in the snow. He is such a cutie!

Zanthia I too have seen the photos from Seattle and you are right they just cant not have that much snow. Glad your dogs like the snow.

Kay bet it was fun at the luncheon. You sound like you are going to be a busy lady!

Have a great day!
