hahaha! I almost gave myself a heart attack! I glanced over at the time/date on the bottom of my screen and I got the numbers mixed up. I almost typed that it was December 19, not 9. The time was 7:19.
Well, I am *extremely* relieved to know it isn't the19th. I would be on the floor, fetal position otherwise. :D

Coffee was a huge part of my morning yesterday. Grateful for the small things. I was able to pay bills, and not freak out over that too much before we realized that the washing machine is dead again. This is the 4th time the same valve has broken while under warranty. Unfortunately, that means the company will most likely not repair it but give us a check towards a new one. Which is bad--it sounds good, a new washer-- but bad in that we got this washer on sale and there is no way we can get a new one for the same amount. Add in the supply issues and who knows how long it will be? We can't even get a tech in any time soon because there are none available.
Scott is going to have to bring laundry to Leah's and I am going to bring some to my parents when I head down next week-- when I am supposed to be cleaning for them. Blergh. I can also run laundry at my friend's house when I clean for her too- thank goodness she is so understanding.

I am going to *fingers and toes crossed* be making the coffee butter today. it doesn't look like it will be difficult to do, just very time-consuming. I hope that it all mixes up the right way. If not- what can you do? I will figure something out.

Just so you don't think that everything is 100% Gloom and Doom, I have a couple of pics to share:

Good morning. Wow--yesterday just zipped past and I didn't even log on to the computer. Must be that I accomplished so much...uh, no I didn't. Oh well. It happens.

Today Syd and I are driving to Tallahassee to take a campus tour at Florida State. We have never been to Tallahassee so I wanted to spend the night but she had no interest. It's a 3 hour drive over but it is all interstate. The tour takes 90 minutes and then we drive home for 3 hours. This old mama is going to be tired. LOL But the good news is that Syd is a very good driver so I may share driving time with her. After all, if she were to go to FSU, she would need to do the drive back and forth whenever she came home.

Shaun came down---no work, no school---but set his alarm to 7:30 so that he can get Brian and I out for a walk. Kind of like taking the dog for a walk--except he takes his parents because he thinks we don't get enough exercise. And, of course, he is right.

@tanteva yay for getting the letters done and in the mail! Hope that you didn't buy all of the "wrong:" food at the store while you were hangry. Have a nice day at work.

@Cherylndesigns Did you sleep any better last night? Hope so. I sent hugs to everyone. It was such a crummy day for the family. I hate that I can't make it better/easier for them.
The hair appt had my stomach in knots esp since I was at Arlene's just the other day. Arlene and Leah were saying that the wine glass I got Arlene for her b-day is kept in the "good china cabinet." When I asked if that was unusual, they joked that there was some everyday stuff in there, but so is her family's china that was luckily smuggled out of Germany before her family was rounded up. It is really hard to hear those kinds of comparisons and not say anything. Nauseating, honestly. :(
Caitlyn had a small meltdown yesterday and had to sit on my lap while she cried. She is taller than me and we weigh close to the same so it had to have looked ridiculous!
Hope you had fun being an elf a bit and got all of your CT stuff taken care of. I am still sort of behind in all of that, but I did get the Scraplift LO posted.

Hi Buddy!!! We *always* behave here!!

@bcgal00 ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) How is Taz??? How are you?? Poor pup.:(
That is always scary. Give him some gentle pets and snuggles. When he is able to eat, give him a treat from me too.

@BrightEyes that is pretty neat that you have a lot of Making Of DVDs to watch. We watch the Talking Dead after the Walking Dead and I love getting to see behind the scenes how they do some of the makeup and stunts. But even more special for you to have a connection to the filming of Top Gun.
Seems like we all needed that extra Brain Boost :D

The boots look very soft Cheryl

@faerywings I am so sorry that Tuesday was such a terrible day. Poor Scott, things were just not good for him were they? And Cait's day wasn't that good either. So, of course, as the mama, your day was miserable. And then, when it sounded like Wednesday was going to be better the washing machine breaks down...for the fourth time. Good grief! I hope today turns it around!

@tanteva did you wind up with lots and lots of groceries? That always happens to me when I go to the store hungry. The other thing that always happens to me---anytime they have BOGO (Buy One Get One) in the front of the store, I always find something that I need. And when I say need, I really mean don't need but who can pass up something free?

@bcgal00 I am so sorry to hear about Taz. That vet bill is going to be so pricey but what can you do...they are family!

@BrightEyes Top Gun is one of my favorite movies of all times. When it first came out, I saw it 3 or 4 times. I remember going to the theater alone one Saturday afternoon and sitting there watching it. I loved that movie. Last year, during the pandemic, we bought a screen and projector and would sit out on the lanai and watch movies. Introduced the kids to Top Gun and they sat and complained about watching this old movie! What is wrong with my kids? LOL

@taxed4ever that hike sounds amazing. I get what you are saying about finding your soul again. It's hard in the craziness of the world.

@cherlyndesigns both the boots and the bow look fantastic!

And wasn't Buddy the Elf a talkative fellow yesterday? I loved it!

Now off to the gallery to get caught up...well that might not happen for awhile but I can get started. Tonight when we get home and tomorrow, I am 100% committed to scrapping

Hi, @LSlycord Thank you for hoping that the day turns around but it looks like J is off the vet again. She had a small growth in her ear when Gary took her in last week because of the vomiting. But he saw right now that it is much bigger and bleeding. Ugh!!
Have a safe trip and good luck on the tour!!

Hi. Lunch at work right now. Managed to both behave and not buy too much yesterday. Yay for me!

Came to work today, and got called to a meeting. Wondered why, but it turned out, they wanted me to work tomorrow as well. So, long day tomorrow, nice for the vallet, tiredness for me. Lol

Finished the poncho before I went to work, at least I look good. :)

Morning, gals... I should be going to the base to pick up Rx refills but don't feel like going today... plus cold front has arrived plus another stronger one going to be here sometime today with rain/snow. Will wait and go next week.

Trying to get caught up on CT work but still have a few more to do. At least I am staying caught up on the games. :D

@tanteva Beautiful poncho. I had one similar to that several years ago. Hope it helps keep you warm.

@faerywings I nearly fell out of chair LOL over the pics of Braxton and the pup! Knew you would work them into the holiday decorations some how. Oh, NO... not the washer going out again!!! If the manufacture gives you a credit for a new one, I hope you can find one on sale.

@LSlycord I hear you about younger ones not appreciating the movies that we enjoy. I still waiting for Top Gun II: Maverick... it will be released in May 2022. The release date got push back a year due to Covid.

Off to do a few chores.

Morning everyone! I had a half decent sleep last night, so it should help to have a more productive day today! Yesterday's hike was so nice, it was chilly, but so beautiful! We were a very chatty group and I think I spent time talking with all 19 other hikers. Tough climb to the top, so the chatter stopped for a bit as we all needed our breath LOL. The views were amazing and we stopped for lunch at the best view point. However the wind had picked up and it was far too chilly to stay there so we moved on to where we were out of the wind. Next weeks hike is in my old hometown and then we are having our Christmas luncheon afterward at the pub that is directly above my Gary's parents house. So my DH will be taking that day off of work and joining us after the hike. He is not able to hike with us as we are not allowed to have drop in hikers yet. (Covid rules). Oh well he can have a good visit with his Mom and Dad and I will call him when we are ready to meet for lunch. Should be fun and one of the hike leaders has put together a slide show from all of photos that have been taken over this hiking year. Today is catch up day and I hope to get some layouts posted and more commenting done here. I also need to finish my son's Hoodie, I have some of what he wanted on the front of the hoodie but still need to add one more thing. I need to start wrapping gifts and send out a few Christmas Cards. My Gary is taking tomorrow off so he can get the new bedside tables put together and do a few other things around here. Saturday we go to my brothers for a Christmas fondue, that should be a good time! We will spend the night with them as it will be crappy driving weather and a good time to be off of the highway! Saturday is also our son's birthday, so we will hopefully have a good face time chat with him before we head off to my brothers. He will be 43 years old, my God how did that happen???

@faerywings - Love the photos, nice that Braxton is helping out with decorating LOL. Oh nooo, not the washing machine again!! I do hope that you will be able to find one on sale and that you don't have to wait until March to get it!! We found a new kitchen table and chair set we want, but if we order it, we have to wait until March to get it!! o_O. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that the coffee butter turns out amazing! Nice that you have such a good friend who will let you get some laundry done at her house! I hope that today brings some good things your way!!

@LSlycord - What a nice way to spend some time with your daughter! Hope the drive is pleasant and the traffic is light! The tour of the University should be fun and then you will have more time to talk on your drive home! Too funny that Shaun takes his Mom and Dad out for a walk LOL, hope it was a good one!

@BrightEyes - Probably a good plan to stay home if the weather is not going to be very good! I too am trying to get caught up on CheeryO duties, but its not going very well LOL. Too many other things on the go and I am like a dog that suddenly sees a squirrel and off I go to some other place .

Good morning ladies. I'm exhausted so will keep this short. Taz is still being medicated and given oils, pumpkin and yogurt in the hopes that he passes the obstruction today but they don't expect it to happen. He'll be going for an ultrasound later today or tomorrow morning, whenever they can fit us in. I'm guessing that surgery will be booked for the next few days. I have to take him out every 20 min and walk around the yard with him to try to get things moving. No luck so far.

I'll take all the prayers and positive thoughts for him, thx.

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work, which is piling up b/c I am dealing with Taz a lot throughout the day and not working.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi Trudy!!
Awwwwwww, I can just see Cait on your lap, crying. I have the best picture of Ava sitting on Adrienne's lap. She's taller than Adrienne, too and her feet are hanging all the way across. I love that they still do that! I hope you're both better today.

Yes, Buddy had a fun day yesterday, didn't he? Hahaha He was a busy little elf. He wore himself out. Had to go back on the shelf and rest up for today.

I'm glad you like my boots and my bow. That sounds like the title of a song. "My boots and bow". LOL

Your tree looks beautiful, BTW! Braxton must have been a big help.

I'm going to do a few personals then I need to get to work on something. Our power went out about an hour ago. The power on the property is apparently out. They've been trimming trees to keep them out of the power lines and must have cut one of them. How ironic, huh? I'm glad I have decent natural light in my office, but it's still hard to see my black keys. I keep saying the next laptop I get is going to have a lighted keyboard, then I get sticker shock!

I'm running on my phone's hot spot - oh shades of the past!!! I figure I have about 3 hours on my laptop battery and my phone, then I'll have to use the car charger. We're going to get our boosters today, then I have my last (hopefully) appt with the ortho.

Thankfully, it's 73 degrees today, so we don't have to worry about getting cold. They're working on getting the line repaired but they're not sure how long it's going to take. I'm hoping by the time we get back home, it will be fixed.

I'll try to check in later, but I need to get a few things done while I have juice.

Waving to all.

Well, I'm back for a quick check in. We went to get our boosters today, after the ortho and they were OUT!! We were told to just come on in and they'd have them - well, no. Apparently, they ordered them over a week ago and "the government" hasn't sent them yet. I yi yi yi yi yi

So, we're going to try to find another place to get them tomorrow. My ortho appt went well - I don't need to go back unless I feel it's necessary. I hope I don't. The doctor was shocked at how well and how quickly it's healed. He said I could do anything I wanted to do now - as long as it felt good.
