Yes, I am here, I am alive and I survived the mall. It actually wasn't too bad. I got to the Christmas Tree Shop a little after 9 and it was quiet at that point. But by the time I left ($80 later, eeep!!!) , it was getting a bit crazy!
But thankfully, I got some good sales and I finished a few more people on my list. My favorite gift so far is for my BFF. I always have a hard time for her b/c I want it to be personal and perfect. I walked past these hand-painted wine glasses with funny sayings on them. One said "Drinks well with Others" and the little picture was of a frizzy haired blond and a brunette holding up wine glasses together. It was so apparent that this was *us.* :pound:
So I got a neat wine stopper and beaded coasters to match and I love it! My kids are done for the most part, just need stocking stuff. And the rest of the stuff I need I think I can get online and around town. Whew!!!!

Big day for Scott-- he has his On-Site Decision Day Interview for college. He will find out if he is accepted, accepted conditionally (IIRC) or not at all. I think that the not at all is really not a concern, its a 2 year community college. While his grades are not great (actually pretty bad. :( ),he is very intelligent and will hopefully interview well.
I am also working on his Financial Aid application so it is becoming very real.
To top it off, we watched Toy Story 3 together last night. Andy goes off to college. I told him that I was really glad that we weren't watching it next summer. Not that he is leaving home yet, but it is still another big step. For me. ;)

Temptation on Thursday
Order pizzas for dinner cuz I don't feel like cooking. Again.

Hope you have an awesome day!!!!!!

lOve the O!
Morning Chris and the rest of the O fam! It is 60 out here- no wonder people keep getting sick. I have to go into work this am and then hair at noon errands and back home. Guess I should make a list so I do not forget anything. I am busy scrapping for a project that I talked about a while back. I am making layouts for 10 modules of a course called the Fearless Living Training Program. One layout for each module. The program is one of many that Rhonda Britten of Starting Over has. No pay involved, but what an honor to be asked to do this based on a layout I had shared with the group when I started the program. Plus I need to get this house in order- we are decorating on Saturday and I still have boxes from the closet sitting in the hallway!

Hi laurie- hope that work was good to you! Enjoy today!
And I guess I need to get working on cards too... boooooo......

Phyllis- I do have oak trees but they all lose their leaves. We live on a down slope so everything from "up-slope" gets blown into my yard. It wouldn't bother me except it gets hard to find the dog poop!
I heard they are talking snow for us this weekend or something. I really hope that they are wrong again. Did you ever get into your closet? hey, at least you are thinking about it. baby steps!!! LOL

Tee hee, Nancy! Good warm clothes shopping-- and yes-- it is like now that we have a generator, we will never lose power again!
You would have been a good teacher Nancy, just maybe not for teenagers. At least that was my conclusion. I used to teach preK and we took the kids on a lot of trips-- even the Bronx Zoo once. I never lost a kid until the incident with Scott 2 years ago!

Trudy- how neat to see the hummingbirds that close! But ITA-- if I could fly, I would be somewhere warm!Scott has something like a jumparoo- and he loooooved it!!!!! and 6 months??? Already?????
That is too funny about the bear compost bin!!!

Heather- hugs to you!!! I am in Nj too- if ya need anything!
You are more than welcome to pop in for coffee, and if you happen to bump into your son, well, what a coincidence!:)
Do you know what town in NJ he is in?

Andrea- Catzilla-- oh man, she is cute but so annoying!
It is horrible having to take some down time and then having to deal with that catch-up. Please pace yourself so you don't overdo it!

Hugs to all of you!

Laurie, that sounds like such a cool program! congrats on getting your art recognized, too!

Chris, well at least i don't have to worry about the dog poop. i am getting inundated with really CUTE puppy photos on facebook. i seem to have a few friends who are totally into dogs. and i'm remembering how much i loved having my German Sherherd. and i am fighting with my emotions re: getting a dog. i know i will NOT get another dog. too much work at this point in my life, and i don't want bugs being brought into my house. i know my property has to be crawling with deer ticks, since my property is crawling with deer. so i will just dream about German Shepherd puppies and get on with life. :hurt:

that wine glass sounds so cute!! and a perfect "personal" gift. i just went onto Amazon and bought a lot of books for The Grandmen, since there doesn't seem to be a quota on how many of THOSE i can buy for Christmas gifts.

we're suppose to get between 1-6" of snow tomorrow evening. so forget about the optimism that a 63-degree day in December brings. (that's for today.) looks like another weekend to hunker down inside. i have cabin fever already, and it's not even the worst months of the winter yet!!:hurt:

today i'm clearing up all the Christmas card-making stuff that's been out on my work table for about 3 weeks. i DID get out some of my Christmas decos yesterday. i decided to go minimalist this year. (even more minimalist than usual....) i think this is a hallmark of "getting old." my Hubby said he wouldn't care if we didn't even decorate. how sad is THAT?? give me a few things that light up nicely and my Santas here and there and i'm good.

here i go. doing Thursday the best i can. have a Happy One, O-zies! :becky:

Morning ladies... Another chilly day here today, got the hummingbird feeder out a bit earlier than yesterday. Guess the little guys are still in bed, because I didn't get buzzed this morning :becky:

No vehicle for me today, so I guess I am staying put! We are supposed to get some :snow: today and because hubby has not put the winter tires on the truck yet, he has taken my Van to work. Oh well no where to go to today anyway. I am going to watch Polar Express today, I have never seen it and MG will not watch anything animated so I will curl up in front of the fireplace and watch it alone.

Chris - You gift for your BFF sounds perfect!! I know she will love it!! Keeping my fingers crossed that Scott gets the good news about his college!! Hope you find everything else you need for Christmas online, its so much better than fighting those Christmas Crowds!!

Laurie - Hope you do not get sick from the crazy temp changes!! So nice that your wonderful scrap art got recognized and that course really does sound interesting!!

Phylis - Do you use a Cricket or other Machine for your Card Making? I have always wanted to start making my own cards, my Aunt does her own cards, but she has a very expensive machine and all the other gadgets for paper stuff, stamps, embellishments etc. I don't think that I could afford to gather all that stuff together, nor do I want the mess that comes with it. But sometimes I miss working with paper! Ok I don't know what I want :loco: I am not looking forward to dragging out all the Christmas decorations!! When DD was home it was a fun thing to do, because it gave her something to help me with, we baked and decorated the days away, it was fun!! Now it just seems like a chore! But having the grandkids come and share it with us will be great!!

Ok I am off to the T.V. and will spend the next couple of hours watching my movie. Hope everyone has a fabulous day, keep warm!!

good morning - it is so foggy! so strange for a Dec day. You can barely see across the street. Glad I don't have to go any where today. Yesterday I made it to Staples to get my calendar printed. I can't wait to get them back. She printed out one page and it looked really good if I do say so myself lol. Then I went to the NJ Devils game and it was so exciting and then such a bummer. My team scored with 1 min 6 secs to take a 3-2 lead and then allowed the Canadiens to score with 30 secs left in the game and then my team lost in a shoot out. But because I am a half full girl the good thing about my team is that all the call ups kids from the AHL are all doing so well. Reid Boucher got his first point and scored the Devils one and only shoot out goal of the season! So I enjoy that part. Made it to the train on time and rode home with my DH. Had a great talk with my sister this morning. We want to visit my Aunt in Kansas and we want to do it together but we were not sure how to get there if we would meet in Denver or if I would go to Phoenix and then drive from there. Well we decided we are going on a road trip. She is going to fly here and then we are going to drive west. I want to surely hit Graceland and then she has seen nothing so maybe I can get us to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Glacier. Any way something fun to plan.

Chris good luck to your son today! It is such a stressful time for parents and kids. Glad the mall trip was successful! Those wine glasses sounds so cute and perfect for you two.
Enjoy the pizza.

Laurie congrats on creating the art work for this program. I know you will dazzle them!

Trudy how did the painting go?

Heather I can do a casual flyby any time LOL

Andrea so glad you are finely starting feel back to normal.

Have a great day all.

Trudy, how did you like that movie?? it creeped me right OUT!! there was something so weird-looking about it. i think i don't like the animation style that tries to look really realistic. plus, i never understoof that story. the book is absolutely BEAUTIFUL-looking, but as unintelligible to me as The Nutcracker! no, i don't have any expensive gizmos. all i do is basically make a page and shrink it down. then i print it out on photo paper, mat it, make a tag of some sort, add some bling, print something inside, and Bob's your uncle!

Nancy, sending more crappy and strange weather your way. it's rained buckets all day today, and looks like some ice mess coming at us for tomorrow. sorry!! do get up to Glacier if you can. it is amazing. Yellowstone, too. but ever since i watched the Yellowstone Supervolcano show on "How the Earth was Made," Yellowstone scares the heck out of me.... :scared:

Evening- my hair appt was canceled again, poor hairdresser- has this job, going to school and just had a miscarriage. I will wear my hair in a barrette until she is able to cut it. We are supposed to be getting a storm tonight. I am not getting my hopes up. I will have to go to work anyways and no one will come and then I will have to drive home in it. I guess I should charge all my devices in case we have a power outage!
