It is New Year's Eve (day) and who is ready to celebrate!!!??? <~ that is about my limit of celebrating but it is going to be nice to flip the calendar tonight. I know that realistically 2021 isn't going to be off to a great start but each day will bring a bit more light into the seemingly never-ending nightmare of 2020. And yes, that is a reason to celebrate! I have always disliked NYE and resolutions and all of that. Too much pressure for a relatively arbitrary act. And wow, last year we got *burned.* My family thought that 2020 was going to be lit- and it was, just not in the way we expected. :pound:

What did I do yesterday? The tree is out of the house and in the woods and Gary put the LR furniture back in the regular places. Now I am only tripping over some things, not *all* things. After Scott and I put the ornament boxes into the attic, I found some more. pfft. (Every. Darn. Year.) I scrapped another page-- I have three LOs ready to go for January. Go, Me! I have a few more putter-y things to do around the house and then figure out what to do for dinner. Leah is supposed to be coming here today, but Scott had a terrible sore throat last night so I guess it will depend on how he is feeling.

I hope that whatever you do today/tonight brings you joy. Here is to a happy and healthy and calm New Year! ::champagne

Kay- We noticed the moonrise at dinner the other night, it was so bright and beautiful and a bit eerie with the clouds over it. That stinks that it woke you and you couldn't get back to sleep. What are you reading right now? I got several books for Christmas and the one that Scott ordered finally came in the other day and I am LMBO reading it. A few years ago, I got the book "Hyperbole and a Half" which is kind of an autobiographical comic book and is hysterical. Literally, laugh out loud funny. I read so many parts aloud to the family, both kids read it too. The author came out with a "sequel" and I am already texting pictures of pages to them. I also got a book on women's rights/feminism/anger so this is a good balance for me.
Hope the enchilada sauce helped your sinuses. I made sesame noodles with loads of fresh garlic and ginger and I hope that helped Scott too.
Thanks for being proud of my Spooky Pook aka Caitlyn. ;) She has no idea how smart she is.

Trudy- I bet the warm water and swimming felt amazing. Are you going to keep going as long as the pool is open? Good luck with the client, I hope that maybe a few emails will get her on the same page. I always prefer emails over talking since that way I 1. can frame my speech better and 2. have a record/paper trail and a way to refer back to what was said. Thank goodness you can re-gesso the canvas to start fresh.
How is Hunter? I told Scott that I gave you the tidbit of geologists "tasting" rocks and he questioned my judgment. Telling a boy that he can put rocks in his mouth is not a good idea- and he is living proof of that LOL
I miss nature and fresh air.

Rae- I am so happy that B is home! I am keeping all fingers and toes crossed that there will be no lasting damage. Having to deal with diabetes is not fun when you are sick and I know from experience how hard it can be to convince someone to eat when they don't think they need to or not eat because they really can't. I also understand how hard it is to get diabetic-knowledgeable people to care for a patient. This was before me, but Gray was in a coma when he was a teenager and his mom had to regularly freak out on the nurses because they weren't testing his blood and administering insulin properly/regularly. This was before he was on a pump and he was taking 3 shots a day or two different types of insulin. Is B on a pump? When Gary would have trouble regulating his insulin when he was very sick from Lyme it was much easier for me to deal with the pump settings than trying to inject him. I feel so bad for Jen, I can't imagine how hard this is for her.
I am so glad that you got Cait's card, I can't wait to tell her when she wakes up! I really hope that it makes B smile!

Felis- I love making lists and plans. Love it! I should try to get back into that, since quarantine started I really slacked off. I love your enthusiasm too, and I am cheering you on. Do you think that you will be vaccinated by the spring? I am sorry that you had two hard lessons this past year but I am proud of you for seeing them and sharing them. It isn't always easy to look back and admit where we fall short. I know I am ignoring my mistakes and failures of the past year and it isn't healthy. But at least I am aware that I am doing that-- it is a start haha!!
OMG- the cursed socks! She still has them! Maybe they will revert back to "good" in 2021. Enjoy the cake and evening!!

Cheryl- I am going to look at your links as soon as ai post this, I have them open in new tabs. Thank goodness you do your best work at night- if people stayed at my house until 10.30 pm, I would be able to do nothing more than crawl into bed. LOL

C- it is beautiful!! I love how cozy and rustic it feels. Love your slippers- they also match Daisy! And Ava looks thrilled and overjoyed with the Bible- worth all of the work and love you put into it.

Hugs to all of you!!

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! It will be a quiet day for me and hopefully we can celebrate over Zoom or Face Time with the rest of the family tonight! The moon is still out in the sky this morning and it looks like it is still very full. The fog is lifting and there is blue sky out there, so strange to see the moon out in the blue sky! I am happy that it will be a sunny day today! Swimming yesterday was great! It did feel good to stretch these old muscles out a bit! I slept like a log last night too, so that sure has put me in a much better mood today!

Chris - Sure hope you have a great NYE with your wonderful crazy family! I will raise a glass to you and your family this evening and hope that 2021 will bring only great things to you all!! :champagne. Hunter is doing better, Heather has stopped letting him have any kind of sugar before going to bed and that seems to be helping him, guess he just does not process the sugars very well. Not a good thing to have at any time of the day, but try to tell a kid that LOL.

Rae - How nice that you got that card from Caitlyn! I bet your B will love it! Hope you are able to have a nice Face Time with her! Yes, I had to re-do the painting, it did not turn out the way either of us hoped it would and after a bit of pouting on my part, I will try again!

Felis - I am so glad that you are feeling good about the New Year! I hope that 2021 brings you great joy and that you will be able to get back to work very soon! I am also proud of you for seeing the two hard lessons learned from this past year! A good attitude is what we all need for the near future! Thanks for the link to the puzzles they are all so cute! Hope you and your family enjoy your cake and Happy New Year to you all!

Cheryl - Thanks for the photos! Your new home looks amazing and I know that you will soon be done with living out of boxes and will get all settled in to your new beautiful home! Enjoy and hopefully this new Year will bring more happiness to all of your lives!

Ok DH called and needs me to go and pick up a couple of things for him. We will have a nice relaxing day tomorrow and are planning on having that Prime Rib Roast now that the oven is working again!! Keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't decide to quit again half way through. Wishing each and everyone of your the Happiest New Year, may it bring Health and Happiness to us all!

Have a happy New Year everyone. I'll keep it short today, it's a sad day for us. We'll be taking Noel to the vet this morning. It is time. He is getting weaker and weaker and has lost 4 lbs this month. I have been feeding him bits of turkey, snuggling and kissing him and in a few minutes will take him out for a last roam around the yard. It so hard, we are so sad but we know it's time.

On a positive note, Jen is going to actively search for a cavapoo pup, hopefully we'll find one in the next few months. I think it will lighten all our hearts and Taz will love having another dog here.

I'm looking forward to 2021 hopefully being happier and healthier for us all. What a crap year.

Beginning to look like another PJ day...and that is okay by me. Just spend a couple of hours scraping my year end letter to my darling hubby. I have been doing one since DH died. It gives me a chance to look back over 2020 and reflect on what has happened since the year began. Although it has been a tough year... looking at some of my scraped pages, I realized that I have accepted my life as a widow while the memories of my life with him sustains me and brings me happiness to remember. I posted it on FB.

Yes, the enchilada supper seems to have helped the sinus as they are better today. Think this will be a non-cooking day for me... will just look for something when I get hungry regardless of time. No planning - just graze around for something. Yes, I will be reading a good portion of the day. Been re-reading Dee Henderson's books as they keep my mind occupied and draw me right into the story. If all else fails, I will pull out a Nora Roberts book or series as they always keep my attention. I will be in bed and asleep long before the ball drops in NYC. Saw the celebration in Sydney, AU so will let that count as seeing the New Year arrive. LOL

Rae, so sorry that it is time to let Noel go... just glad he made it through the Christmas time. <<< hugs >>>

Kay, you made me feel so warm and fuzzy, reading your year end letter to your hubby. That's just a beautiful thing to do and I'm sure it's very fulfilling to do it for yourself. Sending lots of love and hugs to you - the holidays are especially difficult.

Rae, I'm SO sorry to read this. I know how difficult this is. SO sad, but I love that you're looking forward to a new little one. Not that they can ever replace the pet you lose, but that's a great thing to do. It sure does help fill that hole. Sending love and hugs to you alll.

Trudy, I hope that sugar is the solution to Hunter's problems! That can really mess kids and people up.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the photos! We're in and that's the main thing! We absolutely love it here and feel so at home. I'm sure that's because I've been so invested with every little decision and detail (albeit it Facetime) since the ground was first broken.

Chris, you just made me LOL. I DO do my best work at night. Right now, with all the extra company, that's the ONLY time i have to work, so it's a lucky thing.

Sounds like everything is going well in your household and I hope you have a wonderful NYE!

Love and hugs

I know for some of you it's already a new year, but we have a few hours to go. Hope you'll all have a better year!

Felis, I don't think I'll do a project 52 or anything similar for 2021, but I can't rule it out. I got a coupon for a free 20-page book and decided to but together LOs from 2020 to have a record of some of my events, thoughts, and feelings. It wound up 25 pages, but I think it will be interesting to look back on. I also have made sure to take at least one photo a day for the month of December. Doing that, no matter how uninteresting the subject, requires a certain degree of presence. I mostly haven't done anything with the photos, but at least I did it. You did great compressing 2020 into one LO!!!

Hugs and best wishes to you all. :champagne
