Happy Thursday to all of you!

Another day post-Christmas down and a little less chaos in the house. Whew!!!
I survived food shopping since the store was empty. The weather was pretty brutal- 11* and I think today it is even colder.

Unfortunately, it is going to stay this cold for a while. Caitlyn's rearview mirror has broken off her windshield a few times and it broke again yesterday when I went to move it so I could drive to the supermarket. Gary says that it is too cold for the glue to adhere so she will be driving my car until it warms up. Who knows when that will be. :noidea:

I was able to get a few papers cleared from my desk and paid a couple of bills. Then I scrapped a page for a Jan challenge which was fun.
Today I am cleaning and this should be interesting. This is the family that Caitlyn babysits for and she will be there with the 2 younger ones while the oldest gets her wisdom teeth out. she is heading over there around 8 and I usually get there around 9. I am guessing that it will take me a little longer than usual this time. Maybe I can put the rest of them to work for me? ha!!!!

The other thing that I need to do is figure out why my computer keeps rebooting itself with absolutely no warning. I tried doing a system restore since it started after a Windows update. I scanned for malware/ran CCleaner. It stopped for a little while (or I was not on the computer enough to notice) but has done it twice in the last 2 days. grr.

That is about it from freezing cold NJ. Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Another quiet and nice day at home, I start to like this so much! Past few days I catch up few new for me Christmas movies. Nothing special today. Maybe I'll go out for a while.

Chris, this for the computer is bad. I want to try new editing program that friendsrecommend me for the next year, but I'm so nervous, because every new program can bring problems to the PC. Hope today's cleaning will not be much harder! It's good that you'll have Cait there even only for moral support. I guess you would like the warm weather that we have here, but I hate it! Except the muddy, this so unusual warm probably is awful for the wild animals which will wake up from their winter sleep and will be hungry in one naked forest. At least the street dogs are happy.

Jean, I want this snow so much! The only disappointing thing this Christmas was that it's muddy, and not white. Scraping and keeping warm indoors sounds very good to me. It's mostly what I do these days and I definitely like it. Congrats for finishing your missed 52 pages, I knowed you'll be back to the schedule.

Rae, so you are grandmother, who to knows, this must be something wonderful! I thought you have only two daughters Jen and Bailey, and the LO with the youngest girls are their previous photos. So nice to know that you are have lovely Christmas time after so much work previously. Hope you are relaxed! Would be fun to have a snow play with Taz, but I hope the snow to be enough for that but not so much so to become dangerous.

Nancy, hope you have a lovely day!

Nancy- you are a brave woman to be out there in this weather especially on the water. Brrr!! I hope that the pics all came out ok and that the black line on the bottom is "cropable." ITA- he needs to have that camera figured out before the cruise. It must be so exciting to talk about the plans.
Hope that the walk at the Rock wasn't too bad for you and the rest of your hockey games were fun to watch.
Can I borrow your son to teach my kids that having food is enough? LOL They don't really complain about what I cook (not too much at least) but I wish they didn't have to eat every darn day.

Thank you for the info on genetics. It makes a lot of sense, esp with the XX. I will pass that along to my IL's too.

Felis- Yay for getting cat food for Christmas! We have enough dog food to last us a couple of months. I am so happy to hear that you have time to relax and are happy- even when the cats decorate your cabinets with torn paper.:p
Sorry that your book is not what you expected. I tend to skip over those parts when I read- you know how it is going to end hahaha!!!!
The snow isn't near me thank goodness, but some areas got 50". That is crazy.
Thank you for the DNA info as well- I understand it better too with how litters are different.

Caitlyn came home with another game last night from the mall. Fake News Headline is the name if IIRC. You get cards with a single word on them and you have to create a "Fake News headline" from them. That should be fun to play too.

Jean- thank goodness you aren't getting that lake effect snow, I would be bonkers by now.
All of you have been so helpful with the DNA info. I was reaching back to HS Biology class with Mendel's pea experiments so it isn't any wonder why I had it so messed up.

Rae- how fun to play out in the snow with Ella and with Taz. It sounds like you had a busy but lovely day with family. *love*

Hugs to everyone and I hope that Trudy is having a wonderful time with her family too.

good morning it is so cold. Only 13 and wind chills even colder. I have to take my car in for servicing but at least the waiting room is heated. Last night was awesome. My team often (at least in the eyes of this very biased fan) had to not only defeat the Redwings but also the horrible penalty calls against my Devils. They called our rookie Nico Hischier for 3 penalties. It was sad but the Devil were not scored on during the Redwing power plays. The Nico also scored 2 goals and we also got an ENG (empty net goal) so the Devils won 3-1. It was so fun. It was a sell out attendance and that was awesome. The only bad thing was the escalator stopped working so I had to walk down LOL. My knees were not happy! So my team remains in first place. My DH cooked the Blue Apron meal last night that was so nice. Today other than the car just a few errands.

Chris glad you survived the shopping. Have fun cleaning while Cait baby sits. Sorry about the computer but that rebooting must be a pain. I hope you don't lose any info. And this cold is the pits!

Felis your Christmas sounds lovely! Sorry about the book. But the other sounds wonderful. Love the story of the cats! As expensive at apple computers are at least I know when I get a new program it will work with the computer. Enjoy the relaxing time until the new year! Felis if you look at a map you will see the Great Lakes and when the cold air from Canada goes across those Lakes the cities in the US get what is called lake effect snow and poor Erie has gotten 53 plus inches. But that is far from me.

Rae how wonderful to be spending time with all the family. Always fun when you get to see the grandkids. Hope there is not too much work! And have fun in the snow! I am sure Taz will be so happy!

Jean glad you did not get all that snow. That is way too much.

Ok I am out of here. Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm working a bit today. Then I'll get some organizing done around the house. D is still home this week on holidays and Taz is snoozing in my chair, worn out from all the activity around here LOL. We had a few inches of snow yesterday so it was a fun afternoon to get outdoors to get pics of my youngest granddaughter in her snowsuit. On the way home last night it turned into slushy snow/rain and today is just rain. So the heavy snowfall they predicted has passed us by. We're back to rain now and it's warmed up.

We picked up a new suet feeder yesterday. We realized our woodpeckers weren't coming as much, I guess they don't care for the new suet I had picked up last week but it attracted 3 new types of birds to our feeder so that's fun to see. Now we'll have 2 feeders on the porch, with 2 different suets.

I want to work on my challenges today. I miss scrapping (don't usually go this long without it) and am looking forward to some "me" time today.

Chris - sounds like a busy day for you. Brrr.....you can keep that cold weather, that's a bit too chilly for me. We're back up to almost 40 this morning and looks like that is going to stay for awhile now.

Nancy - how nice that your DH made you dinner. Hope your knee is ok after having to walk the escalator.

Felis - I have 2 daughters from first marriage, 1 step-daughter, and 4 grandkids. Only one daughter and one grandchild live close by, the others are a bit further drive to visit and we don't see them as often. Glad you are enjoying your relaxed schedule right now. Me too :)

Jean, Trudy, and everyone else....hope you are enjoying yourselves.

Got to get back to work now, the sooner I get finished, the sooner I can get to work on my house chores and hopefully scrapping later. Have a great day, everyone.

Last night I discovered that when your car has heated seats and it's running while you clear the snow off in 13* weather you get in to a warm seat. Pretty obvious, but never thought of it until it happened. It may not snow today but it continues in the teens.

Chris, must be interesting to clean where Cait is babysitting. Don't wear yourself out. (But what cars are you driving if you and Cait go at different times?) I am so glad none of us have Erie's snow, but the cold is hard, especially for you.

Felis, thanks for the encouragement on the weekly pages! Your comment about the cat puzzle made me think to do a page just of the cat puzzles we've done this year - at least 3 that I remember. Glad you are enjoying this free holiday time. Hope you get up the courage to try the new editing program.

Nancy, yay for the Devils! So sorry your knees had to do stairs. I would have been very unhappy. How neat DH did the Blue Apron. For you and Luther, keep warm.

Rae, how did it get to 40? Thought you and Taz would be playing in the snow. Guess you're also enjoying slower work time.

Trudy must be having a "grand" time!

Jean - how nice to have heated seats. D has them in his truck but my cars have never had them. Our weather has been crazy, down to low 20's, then up to 45 a day later, and then back down again LOL. The forecast changed late last night to say we wouldn't get the 6" of snow and instead we'd get a torrential rain downpour. The school yard behind us is like a lake now and the weather is holding around 43 so far. Crazy weather. Living on the west coast, our weather changes frequently and drastically.

Felis, here is a page of our 2017 puzzles with cats.

It's just so adorable layout, Jean! Thanks for share it!
The Christmas gift from me for my sisters was a puzzle with Santa Claus playing with puppies. We make it now, but I'm not good in that, especially on a lamp light. The link to the puzzles was first in her 'Letter to Santa' and I was very surprised, because we wasn't do it puzzles from children, But it's really funny and nice for the winter nights.
Hmm, I show your page to her and now we are wondering when someone borrowed puzzles, how the senior library check that you're bring back all the pieces?! I don't think here could exist something like that.
