Uh-oh, I am running kind of late. I was awake at 4 am again, but I was able to fall back asleep for a while and got out of bed right before the coffee pot beeped at 5. But trying to catch up on the news this morning was, how shall I say?? *Insane!* There is absolutely no way to keep up with it all. But even just skimming some articles and reading a few in-depth, it is all too much.

I had a non-stop day yesterday. Gary did go and pick up the groceries yesterday which was so helpful. I baked the dog cookies while he was out. I just need to print out ingredient labels in case the dogs have allergies. The human cookies are very obviously not nut-free. Cait and I socialized the rats too. I think I said this recently, but they need to be handled for a minimum of 20 minute time periods to become used to being handled and to bond. Three rats are a lot to handle for one person and it is always fun when Caitlyn and I tag-team so they can run from one of us to the other. I even got peed on by two of them. Before you all say "eeewwwww!" it is a good thing. It isn't a urinating pee, it is marking dribble and means that they feel safe on you and lets them know to go back to that spot if they are threatened. I also got some baths, chuckles, and Cordelia likes to nibble on my ear.

Caitlyn and I finally finished the FAFSA application. That website is a mess. It kept crashing or not letting us log in even though we had the correct info. Scott and I still need to finish his and then both kids have to apply for State Financial Aid.

When I got home from my neighbors, I got a text from my friend asking if I could help her with her house before the holidays. I said I would try to squeeze her in over the weekend. I got in the shower and then throught WTH are you thinking???? As soon as I got out of the shower, I texted back saying exactly that and that there was no way I would have time. She laughed at that.

This morning I am dropping off some cookies for the woman who helps me at the food pantry. Then I have to go to Shop Rite, the cucumbers I ordered online are too small for my dad's pickles I am making. I also need to get mozz sticks. That was a request from the kids as a "must have" for when we watch A Christmas Story together. Then, I hope to find the last few things I need for gifts but I have to find them in town.

The packages came in yesterday (whew!!) and today I am going to finish the basket that my neighbor needs tomorrow. I am SO mad at myself. I had an idea of how I wanted to put it all together one of those nights I woke up in a panic-- but guess what? I have no idea what that was.
This afternoon, Caitlyn and I have to run to a vet up in Vernon-- they are the ones that will do the spaying for the rats. Caitlyn got a free exam voucher for each of them from the rescue so that is what she will use for a pre-op exam today. On our way out, we are stopping at our regular vet to give them cookies and to show off the new babies a bit.

Do you all think I am going to collapse into a heap on the 26th? It wouldn't be the first, it won't be the last haha!!!

Have a great day, drink some coffee with me! :cof3:

OMG- I really blabbered on... :sorry:

Trudy- one news/weather article that I read this morning was that the polar vortex might get split in two at the end of the month, resulting in colder temps for the eastern N America but wetter for the western part of the continent. That will be great for Cali but not so good for you guys. You already have had so much rain.
Today... well I won't say I will get anything done in particular as it seems there is always something that interrupts me or distracts me. LOL There are so many things going on inside my head for projects I want to do, its no wonder I rarely get a good night's sleep!!
OMG!! Yes!! That is exactly what I am doing too.
How was the Christmas concert, bet it was very festive. DId Heather take any video to share?
You are a great mom to order the right thing for her. Bet she appreciates it so much that you helped.

Rae- how is B doing today? I really hope that they have a microwave, I imagine that it would mean the world to all of you to have a nice Christmas dinner together. But even if it is sandwiches, you will be together and she will be in the proper place. I am so happy and relieved!!

Kay- that is such a long day, bet it felt amazing to put your PJs on and relax. Hah!! That is what I do too, back and forth, up and down the aisles. And I still forget stuff. My shopping list is a spreadsheet that I made, in the order of the aisles. And yup, still I miss stuff.
woo hoo and the new slacks and that they match your sweater too. Hope you had better luck with your errands yesterday than I did the day before.

HAGD!!xoxo

Hello ladies,
looks like last working days are harder, because you feels the taste of freedom, but have to wait. I had only boring days and nothing that deserve to be mentioned here. At least the christmas music makes everything to looks a little bit more festive! I'm very pathetic stalking one of my favorite celebrities till he was preparing his Christmas at Instagram. And to be even more ridiculous I watch sweetened Christmas movies. But hey it is forgiven to act silly at holidays time. Or at least I hope it is! It's too cold, so cats mostly sleep near the fireplace in something as hibernation mode, which I found it is very contagious.

Chris, lovely creative girl, all your gifts projects are so beautiful and cute! Thank you so much for share the photos! Please, don't put all this pressure on yourself! It's great that you try to do so many sweet generosity gestures!!! But you need to come down and not put too much on plate! (This phrase sounds very strange, hope I'm using it correct.) What I mean is that you can allocate some things for after the Christmas, I bet that the people will like your cookies for New Year as much as for Christmas. You needs more rat's time ;) . I start to thought that on The Nativity Scene is had rats with sure, because there is they lives often - stable and hay.

Rae, I hope that the new B's place will be better, not just in comfort but in specialists too! Sorry that they wasn't able to appoint you a therapist and a nurse for a home environment. I guess this is too expensive to be covered, huhh it's so unfair. At least new place is closer for visiting.

Trudy, bad that your hike was canceled! But you sounds as a person in creative mood so this additional time will come good for you! Have fun on a Linda's party!

Nancy, I hope your weather will become better! Do you have snow already?!

Kay, we all are in this situation of 'forgot what have to shop' because of the throng in the stores at this time of the year. As I always tell: make a list and don't think it too much, dear!
You told me that you read sci fi books too, so I'm wondering are you read "All Flesh is Grass" by Clifford D. Simak?! (I didn't like how premature was the end, even I love the message, so I need to hear opinion from someone else who is read it.)

Jean  !

Have a lovely lazy time you all!

Morning, gals. Sounds like everyone is busy with their 'to-do' lists. One of my 'to-do' appointments got cancelled. Got a call from Social Security that the office would be closed on Dec 24 [day of my appt]. We did a phone interview instead and I don't have to go there after all. Whew... glad that is off the calendar. I made it to both libraries and have a few more books to read now. Actually got my gift buying done... and all the gifts are packaged and tagged and under my tree. Was happy that I had enough of the large holiday bags on hand so no need to go to the store for them.

I still need to finish unpacking the canned goods from the commissary trip. May get to them today. I made Apple Crisp dessert a couple of days ago - ended up having that with ice cream for supper Tuesday night. Didn't feel like cooking but needed to eat something.

Chris, glad you came to your senses and texted your friend that you just didn't have time to help her. I keep telling a couple of my friends that there is that 2-letter word - NO - they need to use more. Glad the rats are getting used to being with you all. Never realized how much care they take. I agree that the cookies, etc could wait until after Christmas... you need to lighten your load a bit.

Rae, hoping that B is now settled in the new place and it has a microwave so the family can enjoy a hot meal together. So happy it is closer so it easier for the family.

Felis, I think I read that book awhile ago, but can't remember it well enough to comment on it. I have read most of Clifford D. Simak books - along with most of the giants of Sci-Fi... Asamov, Auther C Clark, etc. My hubby and I both enjoyed Sci-Fi so bought a lot of their books. I am an omnivores reader as I like a lot of different genres. I did buy 'Written in My Own Heart's Blood' by Diana Gabaldon from the library book store - it is #8 in the Outlander series. I am missing #7 - "An Echo in the Bone" but will add it when I find it.

Think I will pull out one of the turkey/dumpling bowls I have in the freezer. It has been above average temps but the wind has been bad and it cuts right through a person. Hot stew sound like a perfect meal for days like this. Then will top it off with Apple Crisp dessert and a glass of eggnog.

good morning - I am waiting for my son to call. My car has a short and when cold gives me these strange messages that my son assures me that driving is not dangerous. It is like 4 wheel drive not connected and hill assist is not active. So he said is to get me a loaner car while they work on mine but to come when he calls. My therapy I think might really being helping but I hate to say anything in case I jinx it. LOL. My Devils play tonight and I hope tonight they actually play as the last game they lost to the Maple Leafs 7-2. Our GM gave a long interview to discuss what has happened to the team. And every team gets better and some at a faster pace. And when you have subpar goaltending well my team will not win much. But there is a lot of hockey left so I can only hope for improvement. He did say something interesting - he wants NJ fans to not have to listen to Ranger fans bragging. Getting a lot of scrapping done so that is good. And thanks for the nice words. I have finished Jan-May.

Chris you are so busy. Glad though that you are having such a good time with the rats. Good for you for realizing you don't have time and speaking up for yourself. Glad all the gifts arrived on time. Have fun finishing up the gifts.

Trudy so sorry for the rain. Sure makes outdoor activities come indoors. Glad you got your artsy painting done.

Rae I am so glad to hear the news about B. Closer and a rehab that seems to want to help their patients improve. That is great. Hope she is not too agitated.

Felis my son feels the same way. Just get me to Friday so I can have 4 days off. I love my Hallmark movies - they are silly but it is fun.

Kay whoa you were busy on the base. Awesome when online buying matches so well. Congrats on the pants.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Got to rush to get started on work today. I've got a busy day. D is taking my car in so I might have to go pick him up to bring him home if they take more an hour or two to replace the front brakes (didn't even know they were almost worn out except that discovered it yesterday when D took my car for an oil change). Then I need to figure out grocery list today so I can get supplies before the stores start running low on things (low carb chocolate is hard to find here). Also need to get to the pet store for Taz's stuff too.

So, quick update (I'll come back later to read all the personals). B got transferred. The facility looks great, staff seems really nice. B got settled in, happy and no problems. They have a microwave so we can make Xmas dinner on Xmas Eve and bring it all up the next day for dinner with B. Yay. They also had a big round coffee table outside her room so we brought that into her room and now she has a table to do her jigsaw puzzles on. And, it is a locked unit so she is safe...whew...that is sooo good to hear.

Gotta go but will be back later. Have a great day everyone.

Morning ladies... OMG it is pouring hard outside! They say this is the last of the 5 storm systems we have been getting this week and it is sure bringing in the :rain: Such mild temps though, so at least the heat pump isn't constantly running. I think that by the end of this day the streets will be flooded and poor DH will have to take an alternate route home. He is still not done his Christmas shopping :mmph: always leaves things til the last minute, I don't know how he can stand that!! LOL I am hoping to watch a few Christmas movies today and do not plan on doing much of anything except finish off a few of my projects and take some photos of them to show you what I have been up to.

Chris - Ha, Ha... yes I said Ewwww about the pee :pound: but it sounds like it is a good thing. I am so glad that you came to your senses and said no to your friend and cleaning her house! Funny how we make our best decisions in the shower LOL. Yes another day of not really knowing what I will do or get done, wish my head would clear out all the blabbering that is going on in there :becky: Heather did send me a video of the Christmas Concert, but it is not very good so I will see if she sends another from the evening concert today. Mason did so well and is really coming out of his shell, he was up there singing and doing all of the dance moves. This proud Grandma might be a bit biased but I think he had much better rhythm then a lot of the others

Anyway it was so nice to see him so happy and having fun and not being too shy to partake in the event! Thank goodness your parcels arrived yesterday, such a relief! You have another busy day of dropping off goodies and being such a kind and caring person, I hope it all comes back to you three fold!!

Felis - Yes it seems we are all overdoing it and I hope that you are enjoying some quiet time with your cats and dogs! Wish I would learn to just relax over the holidays and just kick back and enjoy the time with family and friends! I have been obsessing over the craft projects that I am doing so perhaps it will be more peaceful in my head when those are all done with LOL.

Kay - Your turkey dumpling bowls sound like the perfect meal to me! Sounds like you got a lot of things accomplished yesterday and hope you manage to get the canned goods all put away today! You are such a reader, wish I could get through a book as fast as you do!

Nancy - Yes those darn Ranger Fans are the worst for bragging!! Still not as bad as the Habs fans though LOL. Hope your team manages to find their mojo and start to win again! Ughh on the car issues, hope that you don't end up having to trade it in on a new model, especially when you have so few miles on it!

Rae - OMG!! such wonderful news about B! So happy that she has adjusted so quickly to her new surroundings and the that there will be a microwave for you, so now you will be able to have a real Christmas meal together! Sounds like they have finally found the next best thing other than her living with her Mother for her. Hopefully one day she will be well enough to be on her own again. It took 10 years for my Heather to be able to be on her own, but now look at her, she is healthy and happy with her own beautiful family, I pray that your B will find the same happiness one day!

Well this post took forever as Heather and Hunter facetimed during the middle of this. So now it is time to hit the shower and get going with a few things here at the O and doing some catching up. I don't plan on leaving the house today, it is one ugly day out there! Have a good Thursday ladies!!
