The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Wow. December 12. I am not not not not NOT going to freak out. Not.
Just because Christmas is in 12 days. Nahhhhh. I got this.

Narrator voice: She does not "got this" but she is trying.

Guess what I finished yesterday??? Cait's album!! And guess what I found out after I ordered it???
My local Walgreens now does same-day printing of photo books. :thud:
:rotfl:
After all that stress trying to give myself enough time to have it uploaded and printed, it was ready in two hours. The local Walgreens used to have same-day printing of some items, like mouse pads and wall prints, but the books always took a little longer. Two hours. SMH! I could have not made myself crazy while I was so sick last week. But it's done and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Whew! I'm all caught up on laundry and bill-paying. Plus I made another batch of cookies so I am making progress on things other than shopping and wrapping.

BFF texted me around 4.30-- the surgery went well and she wasn't feeling too badly. She actually texted that she was feeling pretty good so I warned her to have the pain meds nearby when the anesthesia wore off. LOL I am incredibly relieved that it went well and that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Caitlyn and I are doing some vegan baking today. I found vegan copycat recipes for the two traditional "must-have" Christmas cookies. She took the day off from work so that's for now. Saturday will be the *big* full-day baking for the two of us when we start around 8 and finish up around 5 pm.

Hit me up with some more coffee, please!

Not like that! (what a waste of good coffee LOL)

:coffeedrinker:
Ahh! That's better

HAGD!

I will keep your BFF in my prayers today, especially around noon. :heartpumpred:
Praying for the surgeon AND your BFF!! :praying2::praying2::praying2:
Thank you soooo much!
I always feel odd that I will ask for prayers even though I am not religious. But good energy is good energy no matter what and obviously you ladies are doing something right. I am so very grateful for all of you :lovey3:

@vickyday That is really important to share that part of even being married now, you still consider yourself a widow. It has to be reassuring to them that not only do you understand where they are right now, but also that it's ok to fall in love again.
PJs and scrapping sound lovely. Myself-- I am all scrapped out for now. I can't even think about it.

@AK_Tracy Thank you for describing the enchilada casserole, it triggered a memory. I have a similar recipe and IIRC, the family enjoyed it. Even for a small family, rolling up the corn tortillas is frustrating, I break them more often than not.
Be careful on the roads, that sounds awful with everything icy.
Overall, how are AK drivers in the snow and ice? NJ drivers-- as I have complained before- are aggressive and awful on a good day and the snow/ice makes them worse.

@bcgal00 You must be having such a good time with your jewelry-making. Will you work on earrings eventually?
That's awesome about the smoked turkey!

@BrightEyes How did DD#1 do with her surgery? Is she home?
Lots of good thoughts to her too. I imagine her recovery will be much more complicated than my BFF. No PT is needed for a boob. :giggle4:

@Cherylndesigns :hug1: I'm so glad to see you here, we all have missed you. It has to be a difficult time of year and I am happy that your family is so close, physically and emotionally. Please share my hugs and love with everyone. xoxoxo
PS: Walmart?? Are you kidding me?????

Love you all!

Morning...just finished uploading Day 12 Challenge LO! Whoo-whee managed to do all the challenges and most of the games. I spent over an hour yesterday commenting on the latest LOs in Day 10 Border Challenge. So many fabulous LOs... and so many different takes on it. I have been amazed and delighted to see them all.

Thanks for asking about DD#1 - she came through the surgery just fine. She texted me a photo of her leg (in sweats and bandages wrapped up in bandages like a sausage). She goes back today to have the cast put on. She also posted it on FB this morning - along with a photo of the knee scooter she will be using for the next couple of months.

I almost spit out my coffee when I read "No PT is needed for a boob. :giggle4:" Glad your BFF came through her surgery just fine, too. Great that Walgreen does the same day book printing and you got Cait's wedding book done already!!!

No PJ day for me... I finished reading "The Mirror" and need to get it back to library as there is a long "hold" list for it. Will drop off the mail at the Post Office (same parking lot as the library). Will be a bit warmer today and not as much wind so may do a few other things while I am out and about.

I hear more "chipper" in your voice today! ;).
You've got this, Baby Girl! (said in my NCIS Derek Morgan voice to Penelope) ;)
So glad to hear the surgery went well for your BFF! She will be celebrating for sure this Christmas!
Have fun making the cookies with Caitlyn today and again Saturday!

I know you are not religious and you may not believe me when I tell you that God created all of us with a God-consciousness of a higher power.......that longs to worship. We all worship something! It isn't always something divine, but it is meant to be us worshiping the creator God........so the fact that you ask for prayer is not odd! You've heard the saying, "there are no atheists in foxholes".....even they will cry out, "Oh, God!" I hope you don't think I am preaching to you.......that is not the purpose of what I just said.......it is just what I believe to be true. And I am bound to speak it. I will always allow you to believe/not believe what you want! Doesn't change the fact that I still love you no matter what! ;) :lovey3::lovey3::lovey3:

I understand about being all scrapped out.....I'm kinda there myself.....I really have to make myself scrap right now! But I don't have nearly as much as you going on, so I totally get it! Once the first of the year rolls around maybe you will be able to get back into the scrapping mode! That's what I'm hoping for!

And what a lovely page it is for my Day 12 Challenge, Kay! Thank you for participating! I'm going to be working on yours today. Your sample page inspired me so much that I got Lynne's Elfin Magic kits to work with!
Be careful as you are out and about today!

Good Morning,
Baby, I's Cold Outside! My feet are cold today! I guess I will put on some shoes with my PJs today :giggle4:

No word on the car yet. We drove to Ruth's house and then drove her car to church. She doesn't drive after dark. We had a good meal at church last night. 4, maybe 5 different soups. The vegetarian vegetable soup I made specifically for the new couple attending the church was well-received and they took some leftovers home with them! His wife told me the other day that he only likes 2 soups.....and one of them is mine, LOL! So, I couldn't NOT fix it for him! ;)

I'm home alone today. My throat is feeling kinda scratchy and I have a headache. I hope I'm not coming down with something! Ilene was going to come over, but I told her not to come in case this turned into something not-so-good. I've had a runny nose this week, too!

My Day 12 challenge is really hopping today! Love it! I'm getting ready to work on Kay's Day 10 border challenge. I'm going to have to use my other laptop. Either this Mac is having problems, or the EHD all of my digital files are stored on is acting up. I keep getting an error that it has not been ejected properly.......when I haven't even tried to eject it! Oh Brother!........But first my tummy is telling me it is time to eat something. I brought home some leftover pimento cheese sandwiches last night, so I believe that is what is on the lunch menu!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I'm getting dressed, getting Remi out for a min and then will meet some friends over at the center for a cookie decorating class, followed by my usual Thurs afternoon mahjong. Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone! I was MIA for a bit and feel bad that I haven't gotten much time to spend here at the party, but I guess I have until the 24th and after that it will be chaos and mayhem for two weeks. It sounds like our son and DIL have a lot of things planned for our visit with them! Yesterday was fun as my Gary joined in on the hike, which was more of a lovely walk through the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day and he was chatting it up with all the other guys on our hike. We parted ways at the end of the hike and DH went to the Notary to sign some papers and then joined us at the Christmas Party which was held at the Curling Club. There were fun games and good food and guess who won first prize for the ugliest Christmas Sweater??? Yup it was me and I was thrilled to find out that it was two tickets to the Butchart Garden's Christmas light tour. We have never been and I hear that it is absolutely stunning to see! Oh here is a photo taken with one of my hiking buddies at the party.
Christmas Sweater copy.jpg I was happy to turn off the lights and get out of it on the way home, it was a bit heavy :giggle4: . Today it is chilly and the roofs are all frosty in the neighbourhood. I hope to get the last couple of Christmas Cards made today and then get busy with some wrapping. I am feeling like Chris and not in the mood to do much scrapping, but perhaps once everything is done and we are ready to pack our bags I will be more in the mood! I better get personals done as I know that Heather will be calling soon! First I need one more coffee, so I will BBL.

Good Morning!

Woot Woot! Good job!!! That's awesome your Walgreens can get it printed so quick too.

This is wonderful. God is good. Hope her post surgery recovery is good and she doesn't have too much pain.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: I read the hit ya with coffee and immediately imagined the cup flying through the air then almost :coffeescreen: When I read the second line!!!!

I use flour tortillas for enchiladas. They roll way better and way less delicate. I dont do corn in the casserole either as they tend to mush too much.
Alaska drivers are a crazy group. They drive like idiots. The first snow people go "ditch diving" all over the place. Like they forgot snow was slippery and you needed more stopping time. Its crazy that first snow. The rest of the season everyone is decent expect the young 4x4 drivers who think 4wheel drive makes them invincible. They forget that yeah they got good get up and go but they dont stop any better on ice then the rest of us. Overall people are good and leave extra room.

This was a fun challenge Kay. I loved all the layouts I saw too. I love the birthday and Christmas celebration as so many people participate that I dont normally see in the gallery and its extra fun.

My answer (not doctor) is always more C and D. I have taken a C every hour before to keep the germs at bay. Last month it took my family down but I didn't as I took so much C it killed all the germs. Hope you dont get sick and its just a rest day that's needed.
My Day 12 challenge is really hopping today! Love it!
cant wait to check this out!!!! Sad its the last event of the celebration as its been so fun. But I know its tons of work on your side.
will meet some friends over at the center for a cookie decorating class
Ooooooohhhhhhh this sounds fun!!!! Wish I could go with you. Have fun and dont eat too many cookies.

@taxed4ever Your sweater :floorlaugh::coffeescreen::floorlaugh:
Oh man I laughed. Its no wonder you won the contest. Its awesome.

Today is mostly a relaxing day, which I need. I will leave for bible study but the rest of the day is home. Feeling it after yesterdays busy day. It was a great day but oh my body is screaming. Slept amazing until 5am. when hubs alarm went off. Then I tossed and turned for two hours. Main roads are now summer dry which is nice but the side roads are still extra fun. Wanna learn how to control a slide or spin, nows the perfect time. Just know there no snow berm to stop you if you cant correct the movement :floorlaugh:

Chilly, but no snow, thankfully! I sure hope the weather clears before you have to take your trip on Christmas Eve!
No worries! You've got a lot of time yet to get to the challenge! It's pretty easy! I tried to make it easy because of all of the December activities I know are extra for everyone! But if not, I won't spank you, LOL! :spanking:
