Happy Thursday! How is the O-Fam today? I hope that you are doing well and having a calm, restful kind of day.

As for me, I am not sure what I even *did* yesterday- it is all a blur. LOL I got up, did some housework, made the falafel mixture. That itself took about an hour. My mom stopped up on her way to PA and I sent up another bag of groceries and toiletries. I think I should have us pretty well stocked.
In the afternoon, I worked our by the street clearing out the grit form the soil. There was inches of the stuff- no wonder all of my plants died. made the appt for Cait at the allergist, cooked the falafel for dinner, and collapsed on the sofa after all that.

Today I have to call the dr for a referral to the allergist. Do you ladies in CA have to deal with referrals? For Caitlyn to see any dr, she needs a referral from her Primary Care dr. If you don't have one, the specialist won't see her or the insurance co won't pay.

Still waiting on tests from Monday, and to hear what is up with my car from yesterday....:twitch:

That is about it from me, another day, another dealing with drs... hahahah!!!!

Muah!

Trudy- all of my fingers and toes are crossed for you that you get nice weather for the party. Darn that SIL- I hope that she will help with all of the prep/cooking/cleanup and that you don't get dumped with it all.
we all miss you here but want you to enjoy this last week. I know how sad you will be when the house is quiet- wish there was some way to bottle the love and laughter up.

Rae- Love the description of Taz's eyes when he saw he was at daycare! what a good feeling it must be to know what he has someone he loves to be and that they love him back. Good luck with the work load- I am sure that the money will be nice, esp if you will be down a bit later on.

Nancy- ugh about being mad at your son- but I bet walking and working got the angry energy burned off a bit.

Jean- sorry to hear that the movie wasn't funny :( Tina Fey is so funny- must have been a disappointment.

*sighs* I guess I need to get off of my butt and get my day started.

good morning! The weather yesterday was awesome! Luther had tons of energy. LOL. Not much else just scrapping and Haven. Did watch the USA women's soccer team win their first game. It is very nice to have the games on at our time with Brazil in our time zone. Today is more of the same.

Chris I used to have insurance that required referrals but I changed plans so I no longer have to have referrals as it was too much of a hassle. It costs a bit more but it is so worth it for me. Hope you get some answers soon.

Trudy so glad you are having fun Hope the birthday party turns out well in spite of there being so many people. Sure hope the SIL helps!

Rae sounds like you are starting to get back to the normal work load but as you said the extra money is fun.

Jean thanks for the comments. It was an amazing trip even more than I could have expected. I was worried my DH would not have a good time as this was his first time with Viking but he had a great time. And I read the book and I am surprised she is a writer as the book was not what I was expecting. It just hard for me to explain but it had no depth maybe she was trying not to get those that remained in trouble but I felt it was just one long run on sentence!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. It felt good to have a shorter work day yesterday. I managed to finish up by 7:00 and had a nice message from the doctor, thanking me for working so hard these past weeks for her. She will work sporadically now for the rest of the month and says she will try to divvy up the workload between both of us so hopefully that means a bit more work but not as much as these past weeks. I think she's gone for a couple of weeks in September too. So a quieter schedule and hopefully the money will be ok. Ava's owner is not working much right now so he's home with her, so Taz and I won't see her at all this week. He came home from daycare last night so tired and happy. Last night the coyotes were howling like crazy out behind our house. According to the neighbor, they have a den in the bushes out back, just down from our property. Good thing we have a completely fenced in yard to keep them out. They stand behind our house and howl which is really irritating, it's such a freaky noise. Last year a bear broke one of the sections of our fence but this time it was our neighbors fence. He was out there trying to get it back up b/c it's important to keep the coyotes out. They have a small dog too. Once dark comes, Taz will not go out back, his ears flatten and he gets nervous b/c of the coyotes. So every night now I have to go out in the front yard with him on his retractable leash and wait for him to wander around and then take his pee. I'm just glad he recognizes that they are not friendly animals and wants nothing to do with them. The sun is shining and I'm going to get Taz out for a run around the park later this afternoon. I can't believe it's Thursday already. The week flew by.

Chris - we need referrals for specialists here in Canada to have insurance coverage. We get the odd visitor to Canada that has heart problems so the clinic I work for will see them if needed and bill directly to them but it's expensive so most don't do that.

Nancy - scrapping and watching Haven sounds like a wonderful time. I still really miss that show. I loved Nathan, Duke and Audrey.

I'm going to get some laundry going and then tackle my job, I see that my boss sent a bunch of files through last night. So glad to see that the workload is getting back to normal. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

I think it's going to warm up more than I like today and tomorrow but at least tomorrow afternoon I'll be in A/C at the historical society. I'm doing a brown bag lunch group and then staying to research. I've got a too long draft of an article that a friend is currently reading. Hope she can help me with it.

Chris, sounds to me like you got things done yesterday! Hope today is good but peaceful.

Nancy, your description of the book sounds a lot like the movie. Guess we'll be seeing lots of Olympic sports soon.

Rae, how scary having coyotes and bears at your fence! Glad Taz knows they're not friendly. Work sounds like it'll be less crazy, hope that's OK.

Trudy, we're pulling for a great party and a helpful (?) SIL.
