Daily Ooo's: Thursday, August 30

This week is going by pretty quickly for me, for you as well? It has been somewhat busy so maybe that is why. The weather is going to be nice today but the next few days we might have rain.

Nothing exciting happened yesterday. Cait and I were able to take W for a walk before it got too hot. I spent an hour and a half cutting down the bee balm and monarda that was dying and overgrown. Ripped up some mint that was invading the little area where I have the cucumbers and lavender growing. And my goodness, the morning glory seeds are starting to be ready for collection. It really is the end of the summer.

Caitlyn called me to her room and we spent time with the rats. Clover is really at the end of her life. She is still so darn happy and doesn't seem to be in any pain. She is eating and drinking and snuggling with Muffin. From her shoulders up, you would never know that she had tumors or that she is 2 1/2 years old. The lifespan for rats is 2-3 years so they are both old rats. Cait knows that she might have to make a decision to euthanize her if she doesn't pass on her own. Damn, this is going to be brutal. We were both crying the entire time we were discussing this. I don't know how to help her. How to comfort her. I know that I really can't except to be there as she cries and mourns. I started a scrap page about grief yesterday. Probably not the only one that I will do.

She and I will be spending a lot of time together today but out of the house. I am going with her to the college so she can find all of her classes and then tonight we are going out for "Back to school" ice creams with BFFATS and her daughter. We started doing that when the girls were in preschool and we stopped for a few years in HS. We started up again when they were off to college. It should be fun. In between that, I have to clean for my friend. Busy day.

Nancy- I don't think it rained here last night but the humidity is much lower. Much nicer outside than inside right now. I am with you-- dreading having to take the dogs outside with hats and coats and snow boots (ahhhhhh!!!!!) Today will be a much nicer day to take Luther out for a walk. I got to see some of your Alaska photos, beautiful!
Poor DH having to mow yesterday. Scott had to do the neighbors 2 lawns on Tuesday and he had to take some breaks to come in and get water to drink.

Rae- hope that D's procedure went well and that you were able to get all of your work done in between trips to the hospital.

Jean- good luck at the dentist today. The custard combo sounds delish! You deserve some more today if your mouth can handle the cold

Felis- Jean's comment made me laugh too. LOL Hope that you had a nice time with your friend.

good morning - the humidity has dropped a bit but it is still a warm day but the sky is much bluer today. I have had Luther out and the walk was nice. He is now resting. My DH did not get to mow the lawn as the lawn mower is not working. The poor lawn looks so bad. Last year I had the neighbor's son do it but my DH said on no I can do it. LOL Watched tennis and the matches were pretty exciting. Got more pages done for my album. Had a fun dinner with the girlfriend. Today will be more of the same.

Chris so glad you had a day outdoors with walking the dog and cleaning up your plants. I am glad you are spending time with the rats. I am sorry this is so sad. I guess the cliche is you remember the good times. Have fun with the ice social. What a great tradition! Bet you are glad it started again! Thanks for the follow on Flickr.

Rae hope the procedure went well with D. Thanks for the favs on Flickr. I think I would have been inconsolable if I would have lost my Alaska photos. Glad you were able to recover yours. I have got to get lots of my photos off my laptop. Hope that you soon have positive news about B.

Jean that it too funny about being too hot! I know the feeling! Your dessert sounds so tasty! Hope it is cooler for you and the tooth removal was not too bad!

OK, this time is official this was the last page that I'll upload here for a long time. I can stop run my 52 project but that's will be all. It was my name day yesterday and I have this special and happy feeling of creativity and come here so happy just to find that: I noticed that your page didn't really meet the challenge rule :frusty: . My Karma's page, can you imagined?!
I'm pretty sure that my garden is part of my home, at least last time when I check it still was. And most of the kits that I used are MiniO. this was exactly what I answered her and I don't know what more I should do to be clear that I don't want these stupid points. I'm clearised it after every page I post. Maybe have to underline it in red. And this condescending tone it is quite easy to misunderstand things every time when they banned me. Chris, L O L, but my joke was actually for second day to stole someone else's post and to copy/paste it as mine. Jean is write it so cute and was available for here too so why not :naughty: .
The Clover situation just break my heart. I wish I could to support you at some way, but there is no such a possibility, it's always hard. I'm did both choices so many times and still can choose. What can I say, be strong dear, unfortunately love have the highest price! Hugs to you and Cait!

Nancy, I'll tell you one secret, I'm left one part of my lawn to grow wild too. I love to watch it, it's so pretty, isn't it?! Like we are at the woods!!! Will have to remove it today, because mom hates it and I don't want she to to get tired mowing it (dad's hand still hurts, so we separated his part of the yard between two of us).

Hmm, I think, that's it. Kind of sad that today was only two of you girls, but however.
