Happy August! I still have well over a month of summer weather and that is what counts.

I am soooo darn tired. All of this running around wipes me out. I wonder if I will ever get my "normal" activity level back where it was before I got sick. Until then, at least I have coffee.

Yesterday was busy. I survived food shopping and cleaning. I spoke with my mom after her Drs appt with the ENT. I am teasing her that she doesn't need to go to Drs because everything that I tell her is correct. I just need a prescription pad (JK!!). This Dr told her that she has laryngeal acid reflux (OK-- I missed the laryngeal part), aggravated by post-nasal drip and an anxiety disorder. He suggested that at some point she might want to try an Rx of Xanax where I would see if Buspar is better (non-addictive).
I have dealt with so many medical issues within my family that I guess I recognize a lot of the common issues in others.

Some good news about Caitlyn's medical issues-- her Trypatse levels came back within normal limits which means depending on her base levels (still waiting on them) Mast Cell Activation Syndrome is less likely. Whew!!!! Still no ideas of what is causing the hives but this is good news.

Today is my last day of PT and I am thrilled to not have to keep driving back and forth. But wouldn't you know, yesterday my ankle was hurting really badly. M and T were fine, W not so much. I guess it is what it is.

Then Cait and I are taking her rats to the vet in the afternoon to check the lump that Cordelia has. It is scar tissue from her abscess but it is getting bigger. Since she will be away next week, she wants them checked out beforehand. But what a difference from last year. I was so stressed watching Muffin and Clover while she was camping. At that point, their tumors were so large and they were well over 2 years old. I was terrified that they would die while she was away and she was too. These girls are 9 months old and healthy. I gave them chickpeas last night for the first time and they *loved* them. I had made chickpea and cucumber salad for dinner and put aside some of it before I added the dressing. Ii let them pick out what they wanted from the bowl and they definitely prefered the chickpeas over the cucumber bits.

I am still waiting for my two mugs of coffee kick in. Ugh.

HAGD!!!

Nancy- oooh, nice to have that new cut and color! Bet you laughed your butt off at dinner with your friend. Even using templates, I could never scrap as fast and beautifully as you do. The book will be done in no time!
It rained here but we didn't get bad T-storms. The temps dropped here fast in the afternoon. I turned the AC off at 3 pm-- it was cooler outside than in. Hope that was what you had too. Did you have the same ups and downs with pain in your knee? I know that your surgery and PT was waaaay more intensive than mine but this is making me crazy.

Kay- I hope flipping the calendar to August helps your mood continue to improve. How fun to get a perm! The curls will loosen a bit as it grows in too? My hair was a huge poofball yesterday and I couldn't even care. It was that bad. LOL
OMG! You scrapped 45 pages last month? Whoa!!!!!!! :first: :hail:
I was thrilled that I scrapped 6.
Makes me happy to know that it helped you get through the difficult month. xo

hugs!

Morning, gals. Yep... it is me again. 2 days in a row to chat with you!!! Woke up at 5:30 instead of sleeping in.

Chris, I hope you are right that Aug will help with the moods. So sorry your ankle is still hurting even as PT is ending. Glad your mom saw the Dr... hopefully some meds will help her. LOL over the story of rats liking the chickpeas but not the cucumbers.

Nancy bet your Alaska trip was wonderful. Look forward to seeing some pages with photos from your trip.

Felis, hope the heat is less for you now.

Been busy getting some of the new pages for Aug challenges posted on FB and other places. I did make it over to the Post Office and both libraries yesterday afternoon. Waiting until Friday to go to the grocery store and produce market as they both have some good sales then on fruit and veggies. Good thing it is tomorrow as I am out of most of them!!! Sliced my last tomato yesterday and had the last of the grapes.

 Hello girls,
I delay my comment, because I prefer to start directly the new month. The problem with me is that I don't have strict schedule, for two weeks stays up to late watching TV series, then one week wake up before the sunrise to can have quiet time for scrap, then something other. This confuse me a little. I hope in August to be more flexible and can do more things.
As September is very hot too, so I count this as a middle of the summer. But last few days I let with impression that it's getting dark earlier. So let's enjoy the summer as much as we can! I started the month with watching vlogs and Instagram's of beautiful people, which brings me lots of positive vibes. And some envy too LOL. Work day here.

I'll come back with personal's after a while, as I have to help because we prepare barbecue when this hotness calm down. Excuse me :yo: .

good late morning - yes windows are open. It is so nice now that the rain and cold front went through. The humidity is so much less. Had a great time with my girlfriend and her daughter. Great to catch up. Funny how much you can miss when only being gone for 10 days. We did laugh a lot. Got some scrapping done. Now is the hard part narrowing down the photos. Got in my first walk with Luther this am. It was cool enough that I was sure his paws would not hurt on sidewalk or pavement. It was good to be off. Also called my orthopedist as I really need to decide what to do about my left knee. My right knee feels so good but now my left knee is the pits. If it is not one thing it is another.

Chris yes the heat can really get one down. And I don't think you should compare your lack of energy to before you were sick. You were younger then. You had less to worry about. I think for what you have been through with your DH and the kids and now with your parents aging I think you have a remarkable amount of energy. I think you should stop selling yourself short. Glad you are more comfortable with these young rats while Cait is away. And yes it is great to be cooler. Luther is now laying on the kitchen floor but I have the AC on for him. Poor boy!

Kay so good to see you here and read you are feeling better. Wow 45 pages! I am impressed. Not totally surprised you pages are so wonderful. Glad you got your printer back working for the new memory pages.

Felis I hear you about it getting darker. In Alaska we had daylight until 2 am. Now in NJ we are getting dark around 8pm and I don't like it at all. Glad the vlogs and Instagram make you happy!

Have a great day all!

Nice day today. I had a doctor's appt. at 2pm in the middle of art class but I had agreed to it as the next available was the middle of Sept. But this morning got a call asking if I could come earlier, like noon. So I was very happy to oblige. Saw a gastroenterologist for a follow up (the one I originally saw has left) and she says I don't need to come back as all looks good. What we all want to hear! Then I got to class just a little early and had a lovely time. I've finished the piece that was in an in progress photo last week and it is now on my blog. Weather here like NJ is lovely.

Chris, hope the ankle was better today. I'm sorry PT is ending already for you. Will you keep doing your exercises? (Think what you'd tell your mother if it were her before you answer! :decision:) And the word you got on being older now is true, but you can feel better when the today's model is tuned up as much as possible. Also true for your mom (and remember, I'm only about 2 years younger than her). I remember the worry over the other rats when Cait was gone. So nice you've got these youngsters this time. What darling stories about their treats. Glad C got good news, but wishing there was a clear answer about the hives. We want miracles here!

Kay, how lovely to see you here two days running, and that you've been running around a bit. That was one heck of a lot of scrapping last month and what I've seen here sure looks good. Know you'll be stocking up on produce tomorrow, and wow, sounds like you need it.

Felis, I too have begun to feel the earlier dark. Boo! Yes, we need to enjoy the summer we've got while we can. Hope August brings you to a nice mix of schedules and lots of scrapping and fur baby hugs.

Nancy, your Alaska trip is so interesting with the novel places you visited. I'm enjoying seeing them in your pages already. I do remember coming back and wondering why the heck it was dark (we went in June and ended up in Barrow above the arctic circle, so sun never went down). Hope you're enjoying the *#@! Yankees. The Indians have a good team this year, but not good enough, I'm afraid. Your Wed. night dinners out always seem so rewarding, so nice that you got to catch up after the trip.

Later.
