Well, today is the day. At least it is supposed to be, since the last "day" fell apart. Scott is supposed to be getting his wisdom teeth out, this time for real. He is not nervous, more aggravated that he has to go back and all that. If something gets botched up this time, i think he will take them out on his own with some needle nose pliers.

Gary and I made it through Shop Rite and I didn't start shaking until I was about 2/3 of the way through which was *much* better than last time. We bought frozen pizzas for dinner too. :D

Then the four of us watched Maleficent together. I liked it and was surprised that Scott stuck it out but he seemed ok with it. I know Cait liked it and thought that Angelina Jolie is gorgeous. I have such mixed feeling about her. I used to think she was a total kook when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton. And I also have mixed feeling about her breast/ovary removal but I like her stances on a lot of social issues and she has done a lot in developing nations. And she is pretty, in an unusual, striking way.

Not much here (again). Blood work (again). Cait is getting her hair colored by our cousin. She is going a deep brown/plum, with silvery-lilac peek a boo highlights. It is going to look so cool and I am so jealous!

Gotta run-- not to the bus stop this time, but I have to get the dog back inside.
Have a wonderful day!

Sharon- I will have to add that book to my Goodreads list. I have a lot on my To-REad shelf but my library never has them in, so unless I plan ahead and place holds, I never see to have any luck. I should sit down one day and add a bunch on hold but then you know what will happen-- they will all come in at once. LOL I hope that you had a nice time at Panera.

Trudy- We still have not had much in the way of sun, it has been drizzly for the last several days. This weekend should be nice here, hopefully. Probably a very good idea to wait a day at the pool. Did you go yesterday?

Everyone is so quiet, I remember that Nancy is away, Phyllis is still MIA, I miss all of you guys!

Morning everyone. We had quite the storms last night with more on the way today. I have about 30 minutes before it starts raining and since the ground is saturated, I am going to head outside- it is in the 60's already- which is why they are predicting storms for later today and tonight! So far, no sump pump noise which is very exciting to me!!

Morning ladies... so quiet in here lately!! Guess everyone is resting up after all the Birthday Celebrations! Well so far the weather man is wrong and no rain in sight yet. I am not complaining because the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day! I would love to send you some of this sunshine Chris!!

Chris - Sure hope all goes well with Scott's dental appointment!! He will be glad to have it all over and done with!! Glad your shaking is getting a bit better also! I want to see that movie that you watched, but I know my Gary will never want to see it. I will be watching it on my own during the day one of these days. I have always had mixed feeling for Angelina Jolie also, I hated her when Brad left Jennifer for her, but you are right she has done a lot of good things in her life. I did get to the pool yesterday and then my sister came here to have a cup of coffee with me later in the day. She brought her daughter with her, such a nice girl and just the opposite from my other sisters girls. But that is another can of worms!!

Laurie - Keeping my fingers crossed that you do not hear the sump pump noises, but also hoping that there is no sign of flooding anywhere near your basement ever again!!!

So a very quiet day here, I am refinishing a little table for my living room and will be putting on the last coat of stain this morning. Then I have a stand alone antique mirror that sister brought here for me, she was purging her house and knew I always loved this mirror. So now I have another job of refinishing to do. More stain to buy, but it will look so pretty when I am done with it!! Skyping with DD and Mason this morning, hoping that they have got some good news about the washing machine finally!!! Hopefully some scrapping and a walk today. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!!

A little more news on DD's house situation. The appraisal was done Monday, and the value came in at a little less than the agreed upon sale price. That is GOOD NEWS! The appraiser was impressed with the house, and didn't find anything that needed fixing. WHEW. DD saw picutes he took, and saw that the current owners are practically all packed up...garage full of boxes...no pictures on the walls.... They should know by the end of next week. This is one of those weeks I am wishing away! LOL

We're expecting a SUMMER day here today. Hoping for our first bike ride of the year.

Do any of you like Indian food? I found a PERFECT jarred sauce at Target of all places. It is yellow curry sauce by Archer's Farms. It is nice and spicey without being too hot. I just use pre-cooked chicken strips heated up in the sauce, and add rice to it. I think it would be good with cauliflower pieces in it too. Just my little FAST MEAL tip of the day.

I am having such a fabulous time as Romy's guest CT-er! She has such gorgeous products. It's taken me to her gallery where I have discovered a lot of wonderful pages I somehow missed before (probably while on one of our trips), including several by you, Chris. And I'm discovering what a nice PERSON Romy is. I've had a lot of questions, and she has been so kind and patient with me (I am NOT the brightest bulb in the Techie Box!).

Another day with no QOTD??? Okay. I have one: Do you still wear a watch? I haven't worn one since I quit my last out-of-the-house-paying-job. I stopped wearing one even before packing a phone around all day (with a clock). I have one "friend" who is irritated by people who don't wear watches and always ask if anyone knows what time it is, so I NEVER ask her. But for the most part, there are clocks everywhere you are, and at my age, exact time is usually not that important. I'm asking because DH still wears a watch, and Sunday his died after 25+ years of faithful service. And he bought a new one.

hagd everyone

Hey Sharon, Keeping fingers crossed that this week sails by for your DD!! It sounds very promising for her!! Wish DH and I had bikes still, we used to ride a lot but since we moved back home we have not been bike riding at all. There are so many steep hills here where we live and the highway behind us full of curves and twists and people drive so fast on it, that we are afraid we will be killed if we try to bike it. We really should get some bikes and a rack and just get out on some of the very nice trails around here. Could-a, should-a, would-a blah, blah, blah!!! :blah: Oh well perhaps one day??? So glad to hear that you are enjoying your CT time with Romy, yes, she is a sweetheart!! I love her products also!! Your new currie sauce find sounds very good!! I will look for it, I love curry, but DH can take it or leave it.
QOTD - I used to wear a watch everyday and my last one was a beautiful Mickey Mouse watch that DH bought for me at Disneyworld, it had bling and everything!! I still love it, but it needs a new battery. I really don't wear it anymore though and find that now I am not working, I really don't care what time it is anymore :becky: DH wears his watch faithfully everyday!!

I hear ya, Trudy, about the bikes and traffic. We used to ride road bikes...on the roads. What was I thinking???? I had kids at home who would have been left orphans had we been hit. When I got frightened of the traffic, I sold my road bike. A few years later, DH sold his. We now have "comfort bikes," (https://www.google.com/search?q=gia...in-bicycles%2Fgiant-sedona-dx-women-s;700;467) and we only ride on designated bike trails/paths that are pretty much flat. We got a trailer hitch and a GOOD bike rack, which just stays on the car during biking season. It is so good that we feel comfortable taking the bikes with us on road trips, and have ridden some fun trails in Utah, Idaho, Oregon....

PS: I hope that link takes you to a picture of a comfort bike.

Oh man. I've gotta come to this Safe Place to vent. I belong to two Facebook sites to which people post their iPhone photos and art. Some days all I can do is shout at my monitor, saying "YOU DON'T HAVE TO POST EVERYTHING YOU DO!" Cutting slack for different tastes only goes so far. One of the things both teachers first said was, "Only post/publish your BEST work." Even on the scrapping sites, we don't have to post everything we make! =:O

All that said, I'm sure I'm just as frustrating to many people, and they wonder why I'm posting! LOL

Thanks. I feel better.

Sorry to be so quiet, but have finally buckled down to work on the project that should have been done in January. Also have to finish taxes. As a result I'm home with "stolen" days instead of attending a conference. Hopefully I can get everything done by Sunday as have commitments next week.

QOTD: years ago DH and I both told folks, "yes, we have watches" sitting in a jewelry box, etc. but we've neither one worn a watch in decades. He does use a pocket watch and I finally found a really sturdy one - Swiss Army brand. He just has to replace the battery once in a while. I can't stand wearing a watch. I do sometimes borrow his when I need to time a program I'm giving.

Hope you'll forgive lack of personals, but wishing everyone a good day.
