Kay- good to hear that you are well! BP isn't spiking when you are scrapping? The family chat sounds fun even if you ended up sideways! Every once in a while, I have that issue with the front-facing camera on my cell phone. No matter what I do, I am sideways or upside down. Def. a funny thing for your family to see
I am terribly jealous of your weather, winds and all. It has been miserable here. Hopefully, this means May is going to be gorgeous. *fingers crossed*
Is your allergy season almost over by now?
Trudy- good for you for walking in the rain! If it would stop downpouring or get over 50* it would be so nice.
How sweet, I love hearing how you play and read to the boys. One nice thing about quarantine is that you get to see Mason so much more. Canada's Mother's Day is this weekend? Ours is the 10th this year.
Glad that your Walmart trip went well- when Cait and I drove to the pick-up area yesterday, we were shocked at how many people were on line to get inside. And they were all so close to each other. *shudders* My town now has 310 confirmed cases and 18 deaths. Our mayor has been very good about updating us every night.
Ok-- I will keep doing the breathing and stretching
Nancy- I was happy(ish) to hear that NJ's County and State Parks will be open this weekend. A little nervous but happy at the same time. Cait and I can't wait to take the dogs for a hike. We think Ringwood Manor will be less crowded than the NJ Botanical Gardens and we can't bring the dogs there anyway. I think Scott will be happy too. They closed the Applachian Trailheads in my town, I wonder if they are open? Are they considered State or Federal? :noidea:
Poor Luther that the bridge was closed. He is such a good boy.
Whew!!!!!!!!!!!! That is great news about your sister!!!!
That is too bad that you couldn't see the jets by you.
I really love helping Caitlyn study-- I do learn a lot, especially with the Black Studies and Multi-Cultural Psych. That wasn't really a "thing" when I was going for my Psych degree. last month, I read an article about how the govt was running a study on one of the meds for COVID in Detroit hospitals. My jaw dropped-- really?? Detroit?? Distrust of doctors in the black community is very high due to centuries of "unconsent" - Tuskegee and Henrietta Lacks are the most famous but these things have happened for decades upon decades, even into the 1980s and 90s. I sent her the article and we talked (yelled) about it. hehe.
That reminds me-- good thoughts for Caitlyn tomorrow, please! She was supposed to be placed with Child Protective Services for her internship for the next year. CPS had to drop her spot b/c they are out of funds for regular staff and will not have the resources to take on a student. There were no other options for her in the 45-minute radius that her school tries to accommodate- all for the same funding shortages. She was able to get a potential placement on the Ramapo Campus working with undergrad students. She will be interviewed tomorrow and while I don't see that as an issue, I know she will appreciate good thoughts.
It is really crazy how CV19 is affecting literally every aspect of life in some manner.
One more side note: Writing literally made me think Lit-r'lly which made me think of Rob Lowe's character in Parks and Rec-- the COVID episode is on NBC at 8 pm tonight. They are raising money for Feeding America - I am pretty sure that is the charity.
Jean- It has to be good signs that trees are getting buds, spring weather has to be close by. I am so with you-- feels more like March!!
Gary got a photo of the robin's nest-- three bright blue eggs. When do they usually hatch?
I will be continuing the stretching for sure-- so happy that it helps. When I meditate at night, I am always shocked at how tense I am too.
I haven't heard of any planned O-Chats but I can ask Ona.
I also proud of Caitlyn, she has taken yoga back up again and already is seeing a difference in her flexibility. I will pass along the hugs! I am really glad that Scott doesn't mind me hugging him. The other night I went to give him a hug, thought he would be annoyed, so I gave him a high 5. Which then insulted him. hahaha!
He got some really exciting news however yesterday. Not about his future but about his favorite dinosaur, Spinosaurus.
He has loved that dino the best since he was 4, 5? years old. He is taking Paleontology this semester and his research project thesis has been based on how Spinosaurus has changed from land to most likely aquatic through fossil records. His presentation in his research is today- so imagine how happy he was to see right before hi finalized that-- they found tail!! A flipper-like tail! That changes all of the calculations and makes Spino more aquatic than previously thought.
He has been over the moon since the research was published and cannot wait to include it in his presentation today.
Oh my goodness. I have blathered on wayyyy too much today about my kids. Good thing I love 'em
Have a fab day! xo
