Daily Ooo's: September 21-22: Weekend Edition

It's my baby's big day! Caitlyn turns 21 and is ready to go out on the town to celebrate. It was very funny listening to last night. She doesn't drink really at all. A few times in HS (and yup, I know about them because she would 1. tell me and 2. call me to pick her up with water bottles and Advil LOL ) and a few times since. If anything, she will drink maybe a half of a hard lemonade. So last night she was saying how she wants to get drunk tonight. Any bets that she gets a bit tipsy and decides that is good enough? That is what I think but who knows, maybe she will want to celebrate being legal. OTOH, she is going to be in NYC where one drink is probably more $$ than a week's worth of groceries or a few tanks of gas. :laugh:

I cleaned a bit more here and am starting to low-key decorate for the party/Halloween. That is big on the To-Do list for today. I should get started soon. We went to the diner last night which was all fun and games until Gary knocked my water glass over and it spilled all over me LOL At least it was at the end of the meal so I was able to go right home and put PJs on. The worst part of it was that the restaurant was cold and the water was mostly ice. Brr! My legs were frozen.

So lots of work to do here. As always, I guess *wink*

Trudy- it felt 100% like fall this week but the weekend here is going to be awesome. Did you have luck with getting the painting to dry?? I would be in panic mode too but I am sure that you were able to get it all to work. *fingers and toes crossed*
I completely relate to the flitting with one thing to the other. *nods*
Enjoy (hehe!) running your errands and have a great visit with your cousin! The library sent me an email this morning that Season 4 of Outlander is ready to be picked up so I am going to have to run out for that today. That will be perfect for us to watch together.

Nancy- how was the game, exciting??
Tobias Menzies played Captain Jack Randall, IIRC? I hope that you can make that mental switch too. I have a hard time separating actors from characters too and would have a very hard time with one like that.

L O L, sorry Chris, but sometimes you sound little naive, first there is two for one hour, and most important pretty girls never pays, the crew around her do it for the privilege to stay in shine of her smile! NYC is the second best place in the world to be young and reckless (actually after London).

Everything with me is excellent, love you girls, but I'm just busy and very exhausted. :wave: Will get back soon!

Good morning, Lovely Os~!
I am so darn cold, but I know that it is much warmer outside than in here. Yesterday I was chilly but when I would walk to an open window you could feel the air was much warmer. Anytime I needed to take the pups out, it was a huge difference in temps. We should be in the 80*s today and tomorrow. I only wish that it looked like summer. My plants are all dying and need to be cut back and leaves are on the ground. Yet- the sky is clear blue!
I was able to deep clean Gary's bathroom yesterday and a bit more around the house. I cut down all of the morning glory vines on the patio and pulled all of the impatients from the bucket. I might cave and buy a mum for the front steps. They look so bare. I always end up not getting them since it seems silly to spend money on plants that will only be alive for a month or two. Caitlyn and I are determined to get pumpkins this year and then I get to roast the seeds. :hungry:

I got a few texts from Cait last night-- she ended up only having a few drinks after deciding she really doesn't like alcohol and prefers juice or chocolate milk. Called it LOL Although she sent me a video of a drink she had at Beetle House which was green and - why can't think of the word- misty? It was in a cauldron and had what looked like dry ice "steam" coming off of it.
I have more cleaning to do today and I want to be outside for a bit too. And get ready for a busy week. The party is coming up fast!
Scott and Leah will be here at some point today too, can't wait to hear about their time.

good morning - busy day yesterday. Had fun at the Devils game as they defeated the NY Islanders 4-3. It was such a fun game. Sat with my DIL, it was just the two of us as I let my DH stay home. They Devils let a few of their players mingle with the fans so got to see PK Suban and Wayne Simmonds. That was cool. PK did not take photos with adults only the kids LOL. But glad he did it for the kids. Simmonds was fun in that he says he dislikes the Rangers a lot. So far all the games I have attended have ended in wins for the Devils. Next home game for the Devils will be the start of the regular season. Having fun watching preseason hockey games on the NHL channel. Had a great walk with Luther this morning and usually we walk around the lake twice but today he is too hot and just went back to the car LOL. Today the town pool is have a doggie plunge before the pools are drained and cleaned out. The large dogs go at 12:30 so it should be fun to see Luther. We had not done this before so it will be interesting. Both my sons seem to be having good weekends. My oldest is doing the BBQ for charity event in northern NJ and my youngest seems to have fun at the wedding. My youngest also managed to check himself in for his flights home. Yea! It has been a quiet weekend without him home.

Chris please send my birthday wishes to Cait. Turning 21 is a big deal. So glad she had such a lovely day weather wise. She sounds like me I just don't like the flavor of most drinks but I finally found margaritas and those I love. And the weather outside is awesome! And yes Tobias was Capt Jack Randall.

Woke up yesterday feeling horrid.... headache, stuffy nose and aching. I had planned on going to the movies that morning with DD#1 and SiL... but I cancelled and stayed home. Finally got dressed in the afternoon - then wished I had stayed in PJs. Was feeling blue too. Feeling slightly better this morning but am staying home and hibernating for another day or so.

Woke up at 7 AM to 52 degrees!!!! Wow.... first time it has been that cool since last spring. Also saw some hot air balloons in the air. The 10-day Albuquerque International Balloon Festival will start the first weekend of Oct. Always love it - hope that the wind is right so we get a lot of balloons floating over our neighborhood. Always feel that fall has arrived when it starts.

Need to get some breakfast soon. Nothing sounds good but will force myself to eat today. Hate it when I am feeling bad as I tend to skip meals as it takes too much effort to make something.
