Happy Weekend! It is a 3-day one here in the US, is it a holiday weekend for you in CA?
It is freezing here, I cannot seem to get warm. My toes are probably gray under my fuzzy socks. *shivering*

Yesterday was another odd day where I got nothing major done. Caitlyn and I were in the attic looking at some of the things we can throw out or perhaps sell at a garage sale. There is so much junk up there and it seems too much to deal with. We did gather 2 small boxes of things to get rid of. And we found a stuffed pig to give to the dogs. It took Jaida no time at all to tear into it and throw the stuffing all over. I took some pictures of her with her entire face buried in it. I wish that black dogs were easier to photograph but I think that they are adorable even they aren't focused all that well. I am sure that you will see at least one of them in some future scrap page. ;)

Not all that much happened here other than that. So boring! We never made it to the Botanical Garden or the dog park. Cait wasn't up to it and I was "meh" about it at any rate. I thought that if I stayed home I would get stuff accomplished, but nope. I need Rae's help in time mgt. Ha!!!

Today is the FP and then nothing else really. Cold and drizzly today so I can't get outside and I am not in much of a mood to do anything inside. Oh well!

HAGD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trudy- when will your busy schedule end? At least it is all family oriented so it has to be all good times. Hope that you got your pork rinds (Blech!!!! LOL) at the market. Those are really crazy home prices- how can people afford them? SMH!

Rae- I hope that your back is feeling a lot better today. Scary how one wrong move can make it hurt. Yes, the weight loss must be a huge help to all of your joints. Enjoy the weekend away with Jen and Darrell.

Jean- if you are a wimp about the cold weather than I am too! haha!! BFFATS was at the lake yesterday and I don't know how she did it. when the kids were little and the weather was like this, I would take them but be bundled into sweats and wrapped in the dry beach towels.
Can you see a lot of the air show from your house? We can hear the air show by us but the trees block our view. Scott was able to see a lot of it where he works.

good morning yesterday was busy - talked to my sister in the morning then played with Luther - his ears still not well and his skin is irritated dry and itchy so he is getting fish oil with food and special washing soap. Think goodness I have a wonderful place that does a great job with washing him. Son got off work early so I was able to pick up my car which I take to my favorite gas station and have them do the car inspection. Costs but I don't have to go and fight with the State Inspection. It passed so I am good for another two years. Yea! Cooked an awesome dinner, steak and mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat was so tender. So yummy forgot to take photo LOL. The day before made an asian flavored dish - pork bowls with jasmine rice. Again it was so good but it also made eggplant roasted spears and I like eggplant in food but not so much on its own. And then Apple sent me a link to a new author of romantic novels and they are fun so I have been reading her books. They are very short and end in such a way as to make me have to read the next in the series. Today already got Luther out for a walk and he met lots of dogs but none wanted to play so he was bummed but now he is back and sleeping. Oh the life of a dog! Not much else happening.

Chris I know what you mean about the blahs. It is cold and damp and cloudy. I know it is Sept but really. We need and deserve a long warm Indian summer. Looks like Sunday and mostly Monday will be terrific days!

Trudy wow you are going to be one busy bee this weekend. It sounds like fun with all the family time. Bummer about the spreader. Hope it did not ruin lawn.

Rae I knew you would be at the trailer. Have fun! Cant believe how warm it is out West. I am sure Taz will be happy.

Jean glad the clouds left. I am a wimp with cold weather especially when I don't think it should be cold.

Have a great day all!

If anything, colder today! Slightly rainy, just the tiniest edge of Harvey passing by. Got good word today about nephew who lives in suburban Houston. We knew he and his family weren't in Texas, but learned their house never quite got flooded. Now the trick is trying to get a flight back from Michigan where they're visiting his in-laws. Neighbors used their rubber dinghy in rescue work and an evacuee from Katy, TX, is currently staying at the house. Can't imagine what it's like to be there!

Chris, did you really need to do more yesterday? I think you should have quiet days like that at times. About the air show, no we can't see from our house either but we sometimes go to parks where we can see the big finale with either the Blue Angels or (this year) the Thunderbirds. Maybe we'll do that if it really is sunny tomorrow.

Nancy, poor Luther, to have problems and then no dogs to play with. But as you say, then he took a nap. Your dinners all sound so yummy. I don't know what it is about eggplant. I used to like it, even made an eggplant parmesan long ago, but now mostly avoid it.

Trudy, Rae, hope you are enjoying the heat while we shiver. Have a good one everybody.

Good afternoon, ladies. I was offline for 24 hours...that almost never happens LOL. We left early yesterday and it was worth it, to beat the big lineups at the border. Jen is heading out in about an hour and I think she'll be in line for quite awhile. We had a BBQ, watched all the episodes of Manhunt: Unibomber and am caught up now. I think there are 2 more episodes to the series. Put my oil blend on my back and did some stretches this morning and the pain is almost gone, plus D used it on his knee which he somehow twisted a bit and it took the pain away for 3 hrs or so, so he is using it now too. Now he wants an oil blend for his sore hands (joint soreness). Any ideas Chris on what to use in a blend?

Tonight we'll BBQ, take Taz for a long walk and maybe watch a movie or two. Tomorrow morning Jen & I are going into town to check out Whole Foods as neither of us has ever been and do a bit of shopping. Today I got lucky again (ongoing clothing karma), I had over $100 credit already from the sale of some of the clothes I dropped off last wkend and found another jean jacket, some sweaters, shirts and scarves for just a bit more than my credit total...yay! Then we popped into Fred Meyers for groceries and they had their storewide sale on for clothes so picked up some fall/winter shirts and sweaters for about $4-6 each. What a great shopping day for so cheap! D even found shoes at FM for $12.

Chris - yes, we have our long wkend, Labor Day on Monday. Sorry you are having such bad weather, we are in the middle of a heat wave again for a few wks, high 80's or more.

Trudy - hope you are enjoying the family time and are at the water today.

Nancy - What author are you reading now? I don't read historical romance usually but do like contempory romance.

Jean - we never go to the air show but often see a bit of the thunderbirds as they fly as we are driving home from Washington.

I'm going to go watch the last two episodes of The Sinner before Jen gets here b/c she hasn't watched it yet and will want to start at the beginning.

Have a great afternoon/night, everyone.

good Sunday morning - Luther is at the doggie wash and he will come back not smelling not a wet dog as today is rainy and cloudy but I am hopeful it will not be raining as the day wears on. Watched a lot of tennis and that was fun as Federer won. I finally bit the bullet and ordered my printer. It is supposed to be wireless but it is not connecting to my router so I guess now the router will have to be updated but it is old so not surprised but the printer prints just fine using my usb cable. Actually it prints better than fine it is gorgeous. I am really happy. Funny how my son who knows this stuff really does not want to do it at home. OH well! Made dinner last night a from scratch ramen noodle bowl and it was really good. Both boys were very happy. Today I am not cooking LOL.

Chris your trip in Sept to the shore sounds awesome. Cant worry about the weather! At least here in NJ we should have an awesome Labor Day with sun and 80s. Hope you are not too cold.

Trudy hope you are having fun with family and yard work.

Rae I am reading Abbi Glines and she is contemporary romance as the series I am reading has rock stars as part time parents and their adult kids with their problems. She is evil though in that the books end in such a way as you have to read the next to see how the adventure ends. You could stop but you can't well at least I can't. I am on book 7 LOL.

Jean I used to go to air show when in Yuma at the Marine Corp air station. Yuma was small so it was not too crowded and you could climb on planes. I loved those shows.

Have a great day all!

I am here, better late than never! I must have been super exhausted because I slept until 8.30. When I woke up I could tell it was light-ish out and I figured I had slept in but I thought it was only a bit after 7. I probably would have slept even later except Jaida jumped on the bed with me.
My parents came up with bagels on their way to PA and then I had to do a bit of housework after they left. I still have more housework to do but decided I still felt too lazy to do it.

I am just going to do Saturday's personals for now and will catch up with everyone's Sunday tomorrow.

Nancy- Poor Luther and his ear. Does he scratch at it? I hate that Ray will not stick licking at her leg, she has a lick granuloma that she will *not* leave alone and of course, it only gets bigger and more irritated which makes her lick at it more...
Hope the fish oil and wash clear that up. Haha!! Too funny that he was bummed about the other dogs not wanted to play. It was that kind of day!
All of your dinners sound good except the meat part. ;)
Not a great day up here, cool and drizzly again. Yesterday we put the heat on for an hour it was that cold inside. But yes, tomorrow is supposed to be nice and I am hoping that Scott will be able to tell me where he thinks the plants that he brought home will do best so I can get them into the ground.

Jean- that is a relief to hear about your nephew's home. It must have been hard for him to be away and not know what was happening to it.
Your air show sounds much, much bigger than the one in my town. This one is more dedicated to old aircraft, WII types, plus the ones that do 'tricks" and also windwalkers. I don't think my tiny airport would be able to handle even one Blue Angel.

You are all crazy! Eggplant is delicious!!!!!!!!!!!! :hungry:

Rae- how nice that you didn't get stuck in the lines across the border and hope that Jen didn't take too long to get through too.
You are amazing on the clothing karma!!! Wow!!!!
Glad that your back is feeling better- some oils for muscle and joint pain- off the top of my head- ginger is a nice warming oil and peppermint helps with pain. I make a muscle and joint pain salve and massage oil, but darn if I canrememberr what else is in it.
I just searched my files-- peppermint, ginger and Eucalyptus- I used citriodora so lighten up the scent a bit, but any of them would work the same. HTH!
