Helloooo and Happy Weekend! I am feeling good and (mostly) relaxed. I have no major things on my To-Do list today and nowhere I need to be.
Right now, my only issue is with that bubble on my conjunctiva. It feels like I have gunk in the corner of my eye but other than that it doesn't hurt or itch. It is just there. As soon as I put Visine in, it goes away. I am trying to limit how many eye drops I use since I know too much can't be safe. I might try to not put my contacts in today or maybe only for a short amount of time if my glasses bug me too much.

My day was boring, for the most part, yesterday but that was fine. I felt like I accomplished stuff and I can see the results so that makes it a positive thing. Raking was actually relaxing. The weather was nice and I ended up sweating quite a bit with my long sleeves on. I will still need to do more raking over the next few weeks but if it makes it easier to scoop the poop, it is worth every minute being out there.

I also scrapped a page with et designs new Mini-O kit. Everything came together so well. I love scrapping when I am not fighting over a page. I also started to take things down from the walls to get ready to spackle soon. We have so much clutter. I think I might not want to put everything back when I am done. Maybe I will update some of the photos and leave a lot of the stuff boxed up If I miss it I can unpack it. Or not. LOL

Today will be quiet. I am sure I will be playing with the rats. Caitlyn had them out a bit before she went to school yesterday and my goodness they are adorable and make me smile. Did you see the research study and video of the rats learning to drive little "cars?" Seriously, rats are the best creatures ever and in all ways.
If you haven't seen the article, (I'll find a link in a bit to share), they created a little car with levers for the rats to press to go left, fwd, and right. As the rats learned how to drive the car and get food (Fruit Loops! They gave them Fruit Loops as a reward. Adorable!) , their stress levels went down. However, when they were the passenger in the car, they didn't have the same response- just like anyone who has ever taught their kid how to drive:rofl:

Cait and I were joking that Livvie would be the craziest driver. She would probably learn the quickest and then zip alll around the room. We want to hook up a Car Cam like they do in Nascar to watch her.

Seriously, rats are the *best.* And you all know how I feel about dogs... They are a close second, but still second. haha!

Enjoy the day!!

Videos are in the article. Go see them now! I promise it will make you smile.

Kay- I saw your LO with Erika's Mini-Os, gorgeous! Have a fun time with your girl and good luck with the earrings. My brother asked me about Thanksgiving the other day and all I want to do is :lalala: This year's holidays are going to be a little more complicated than usual. And they are complicated even in a good year ;)
Oh, yeah, I am not choosing the paint just by looking online. Even between my two monitors that Gary calibrated as best as he could, the colors are off. I am trying to get an idea of what color tones I am looking for. I want cool grey, not one with warmer undertones so I have a few names to get me started. BFF offered me some samples that she has from when she painted her bathroom grey. I also have some paint chips by Glidden- I am not using that brand but I have some idea of what I am looking at in my house's light. But there are really so many to look at, makes my head spin a bit.

How sad am I? I am honestly starting to get excited by the project! Remind when I am knee-deep in it and am cursing at myself for even thinking I could do this. ha.

Trudy- You are amazing! Four turtle painting commissions already- that is fanatstic!! And you only started selling these a few month ago?!

Oh right, you got nothing accomplished?? Pfft!!!! Just your hike was more than I do in a month.
The heart failure value on my mom's bloodwork was what bothered me the most. I guess no one wants to see that their loved one had heart failure. But she is in good hands. She called last night and asked to come up with bagels tomorrow. That will be nice.

Jean- I bet Scott would love seeing your sketch of the beetles. He loves his bugs unless they are an invasive killing the trees. But that is a different issue. Did you see that they named a new beetle species after Greta Thunberg? I think most teenagers would be offended but I bet she is honored by that.

The pearlescent paint must be fun and pretty to work with. I am going to check out your blog next to see what you have posted.

I do feel like I am treading a fine line with my mom and it is one with a lot of twists and turns. More like playing Chutes and Ladders. It was hard being down the shore and not thinking that it could be the last time. But it is what it is, life and all that.

Thank you all for listening as I try to figure it.out.

hugs and love!!

Morning everyone! I am up early, even before DH which is very unusual on the weekends! He is usually up at 5:30 am but it was me awake and out of bed before then. I will crash and burn later on today I am sure. It will be our usual busy Saturday with grocery shopping and other running around to various places. Not sure how two people get so many errands to run every weekend :noidea: I guess because of the price of gas we try to do it all in one run instead of going here and there everyday. My gosh the cost of fuel has really skyrocketed the past few weeks! With two vehicles to fill up it is scary to go to the pumps these days! I will try to get all my cleaning done on Sunday as Monday brings company for a couple of days. It will be nice to see our old friends and we plan to show them some of the local sites while they are here, so keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be as nice as they are forecasting! Yesterday I had a lovely 2 hour lunch with SIL Linda and we did our shopping in record time, then home to get a bit more done on my latest turtle painting. Hoping to have it finished this weekend.

Chris - Sounds like you are having so much fun with the rats! Thanks for posting the link for the study of the rats, how cool is that!! It is amazing how smart these little critters are! I hope that you are able to decide on a shade of grey for your walls, we went with a very light grey for the bathroom in the suite, but it just looks white to me LOL. I think once I put some new floor mats and towels in there it will pick up more of the grey tone that we were going for. It must have been scary to see the heart failure numbers for your Mom, but it sounds like she is on the right track to getting that all under control. How nice that she wants to come to your house and bring bagels!! Hope you get to be outside and get more raking done. Watch out for those little piles of poop while you are out there LOL.

Jean - Ohhh pearlescent paints!! They sound like they would be so beautiful to paint with! I might have to make another trip to the craft store and check those out! I will have to check out your blog next. Sure hope you are not coming down with a cold and hope that your hubby is feeling better soon also! I tried to get my flu shot again the other day and everyone is out of the vaccine darn it! I guess I will have to wait a bit longer for it.

Ok I suppose I better hit the shower and get DH his breakfast this morning! Have a wonderful Saturday ladies!

good morning - yesterday was again a catch up on sleep and watch hockey. Had my last in home PT and he said I should walk as much as possible without cane. That makes me happy but I still use the can when Luther is getting frisky. My Devils scored and my rookie Jack Hughes is looking really good but they lost to the Coyotes. I did not think this team would make it to the play offs but it still is the pits to see them lose. Now they don't play again until Wed. I don't know why they keep having so much time off. It will catch up with them later when games are every other day. I am not sure who asked but my next trip is a Mediterranean cruise and then perhaps a trip with my girlfriends to Scotland. So I am working hard to be able to walk.

Chris glad that you are having free time. Glad that your mom's PT is going well. It is hard to look at blood results but I know you have confidence in the doctor. Yes it is getting to the time where leaves have fallen and need to be raked up.

Trudy how nice to have company coming and especially old friends. I think they and you will have fun seeing the sites. Glad you are doing so well with your turtle paintings. They really are gorgeous.

Kay wow below freezing - yikes! Your PJs sound comfy! Glad you found the earrings and how fun to have the daughters over to help put them back in! But I imagine the best will be talking about trip to visit your son. That should be so fun with all the family!

Jean pearl paints sound so pretty. I am only some what watching the World Series but I really am hoping the National win as it would be their first.

Felis waving and hoping you are having a great weekend.

Have a great day all!

Not a nice weekend here with DH sick and me still feeling like it's about to hit me too. At least he had Ohio State's noon game to get up for and we're watching that now. If you want to see my goofy beetle drawing, I used it in a LO: https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/s...9848&title=annacolortry-something-new&cat=all

Speaking of LOs, Chris you did a super one with Cait's leaf photo. (Can't remember if I commented.) Nice that you had good weather yesterday for raking. Here we're starting to get some rain that will apparently increase during the day and night. It's encouraging that your mom wants to bring bagels tomorrow. Enjoy. Haven't looked at the rat link yet, but sounds like just what I need to see today.

Trudy, we know you are always busy on the weekends, but I guess more so this time needing to be ready for your guests on Monday. It will be fun showing them the sites in your beautiful part of the world.

Nancy, your rehab is going so well, we're all so impressed. A Mediterranean cruise and a Scotland trip are sure great incentives! We'll be getting to see some more exciting travel books. When a team is rebuilding, which I guess the Devils are, having a good young player is one of the things to give hope for their future. The schedule does seem a little strange. I'm watching the WS as it's the last of baseball, but I don't have any real feel for which one I want to win. Each has recent Indians on the team so that doesn't help either.

Felis, wishing you calm and good weather for the weekend and Sunday shopping.

Happy Sunday-- a rainy one here which is good/not good. Good in that we are going to get rain to help with the water levels since September was really dry. Not good that all that rain will be in my basement.

Looking back to yesterday, I have no idea whatsoever what I did. Huhn. I did some laundry. Packed a few more things away to prep for painting. Played with the rats. Cooked dinner. Where did my day go? :noidea: Wild how that happens...

My parents are coming up in a bit and I hope there will be no bickering. The last 2 days my mom hasn't complained much about him so that is a good sign.
Gary is bummed with the rain. He has to bring a lot of the Halloween props onto the patio if it is very rainy and windy. Looks like it is going to rain on Halloween too.
Other than breakfast here, I have no other big plans. I need to do a few things to get ready for the week, but a quiet day aside from that.

HAGD!!

Yesterday was a busy day. DD#1 and DD#3 came over and visited for several hours. Was so much fun to catch up on what was going on with them. DD#1 was able to get my earrings in with no problems and very little pain on the one ear where the hole was closed... the other one was still open! Just have to get used to wearing earrings again. LOL :whoo:

DD#1's hubby wanted her to bring my hubby's computer to their house so he could clean it up and get it ready to transfer the stuff from my computer. I will feel much more relaxed when that is done. DSiL won't have to time to do it for a couple of weeks - just hoping that he can get the transfer done before we go to DSon#1's for Thanksgiving.

The girls helped pull out some stuff from DH's office closet. Been meaning to get it done but no energy to tackle it. They took a bunch of stuff home with them. Now if my pest control guy will buy the Bowflex next month and get it out of the office - then maybe I can get that room straightened out and sort and store the paperwork elsewhere. Plans are for me to start using the office instead of my craft room for computer access.

Chris, glad you have some paint samples so you can get an idea of what gray you may want to use. It is amazing how a color can look different depending on where it is applied. My house interior is a soft sand color but at times of the day it looks like honey [with gold tones] and later on it will looks like it has a gray undertone. I know you will so happy to get the painting done so you can sit back and bask in the new look.

Nancy... congrats on finishing the in home PT sessions. Whoo... on not having to use the cane most of the time. Glad this surgery seems to have gone easier than the first one. I know you are happy to have this behind you.

Jean, that is a great drawing of the beetle! Love the page you created.

Trudy, I hear you about gas prices... never know from one week to the next as to the price for a fill-up. Glad your friends will be visiting.

Going to enjoy the temps today (mid-60's) as a cold front will be here this evening... with the possibility of snow on the mountains outside of town.

Trudy- How was the rest of your day, I hope that you didn't crash and burn. I also hope that you were able to sleep later today. It does make more sense to do as many errands as you can in one trip. Is there a reason why your gas prices went up? I hope that ours didn't. I have needed to fill my tank for a week.
Are you ready for your company tomorrow? It will be so nice to reconnect with old friends.
I am nervous about finding the right shade of grey. I would hate to go through all of the hassle and having it not look any different than the white I have now. But then I am also worried if I go too dark. Then... I mentally throw my hands up and say it is just paint. LOL
I am sure that once you get the new mats/towels in your bathroom it will add a lot of depth to the walls.

Nancy- congrats to getting upgraded to being able to walk without a cane! The goal of more travel has to be a huge incentive to get walking. Both trips sound fantastic.
Enjoy hockey and the WS today.

Jean- I love Loft and Swoop! I enjoyed getting my impressions of it as a thumbnail and then again as a larger image. Felt like two different paintings in some ways. I bet seeing it IRL gives even more ways to "see" it.
The beetle drawing was a cool focal point of your LO too. Very dramatic against the dark BG.
TY for liking the Leaf LO--Cait takes such great photos.

Waving hi to all of you!

good morning - It going to be a grey, cold, windy and lots of rain day. But as Chris said we do need the rain. I watched the start of the Heritage Classic which is the Canadian hockey outdoor game and this year between Jets and Flames. They did such a great job! There were flurries and it was at night so it just sparkled. And the game was good. I love it when the goalies where the beanies on their helmets. Today is football, baseball and hockey.

Chris have fun with your parents and bagels. Sounds like you were busy even if you do not think so. I do that too wonder where the day has gone.

Kay that is great to have your daughters over. Must have been such fun! Enjoy the temps today. We should have a good day tomorrow with sunny skies and mid 60s temps.

Jean you page with the beetle is awesome! Enjoy the baseball.

Trudy I am sure you are so busy but rest some today so you will be rested and can enjoy time with your friends.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... it is very cold and frosty here this morning! Sure glad we got the heat pump all fixed up and it is running so well now! A morning of bottling a white wine that is ready and then some cleaning and hopefully this afternoon DH and I will be outside raking and cleaning up the backyard! We both had a wonderful sleep last night and did not wake up until 8am!! I did not have a nap yesterday and I managed to stay up until 11pm watching a movie "Hotel Mumbai" It was so good!!

Chris - I know that you have Amazon Prime, so if you get a chance to watch Hotel Mumbai please do, or perhaps you have already seen it? I sure hope that you can get started on your painting of the dining room soon! Like you say, its only paint and if you don't like the colour you can always paint over it, or get the paint store to add more of the white or the dark to the can of paint. Yes gas is a horrible price right now for us and no real reason for it. :noidea: It did drop a few cents yesterday, but not enough to make us all shout Hooray!! LOL . Enjoy your visit with your parents today! Hopefully it will free of conflict between them!

Jean - Hoping that you and your DH are feeling better today! At least you got to see the game together and perhaps you can do something fun together today!

Kay - How lovely to be able to see your DD's and have a great visit! Hope that your Son-in-law can get the computer back to you in good time. It will be nice for you to have a new place to work on your computer and you can keep the craft room separate, nice that your girls helped you to clean out the closet too. I imagine it would have been a big job for you do to on your own! Great that you are now able to start wearing your earrings again. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday!

Nancy - Wasn't the game last night in Regina fun to watch?? The Saskatchewan fans are such great people, we used to go to the football games in Regina and always had the greatest time! It looked pretty chilly there, but magical with the snow glistening everywhere. Glad I was home in my warm house and not in the stands though LOL. Love that you call the Canadian toque a beanie!! It was pretty cool that the goalies kept theirs on through out the game! Sounds like lots of sports for you to watch today!

Felis - I hope you are having a great weekend!

Well I better get a move on and get into the shower, lots to do today and then I can rest just visit with our old friends, DH is taking Tuesday off so we can show them around, so tomorrow afternoon will just be spent catching up and getting them settled in. Have a lovely day everyone!

Really gray here but rain and wind seem to be subsiding. And it really is fall as the poinsettia is now putting out reddish leaves, a certain sign that the days are shorter. DH is feeling a bit better, at least his temp is normal. I'm not doing so well but still a milder version than his cold. He's realized it means no H&S tomorrow but I've got to get to a meeting Tuesday where I need to work with updating flash drives with cumulative data.

Thank you all for looking at my beetle and your comments. Really enjoyed them.

Chris, also thanks for looking at my blog and drawing. That one was also trying new things I think. Glad you saw it different ways. Your day yesterday sounds pretty normal to me and not nothing. Hope you get to enjoy the aged Ps today and their bagels.

Kay, the Ds were such a help yesterday, company, earrings and getting things cleared out. Hope DSiL can get to the computer and get you transferred. Having a room for computer use will be great. Snow in the mountains there is nice to look at but doesn't mean any for you does it?

Nancy, that hockey game sounds fun. Cute that your beanie is Trudy's toque! Today we're watching football (probably seeing the Browns trounced by New England) then WS. Odd how the visiting team has been so in control so far.

Trudy, oh, bottling more wine is good. Weather for raking leaves is also pleasant. That good sleep you each had should help get you ready for the visitors. I know that will be a treat.

Felis, waving!

Hello girls,
uhh unpleasant weekend. I get cold again. I don't get it, I live healthy and should not get sick so easily  . In additional my parents bickering the whole time. These two are married only to torture one each other. Thank goodness they are in good health, so they aren't like Chris' parents when this is dangerous, but mostly like Trudy's jerk neighbours.
Also the Winter time changing have no logic. Who cares when will sun rise, but to be dark so early is dangerous for so many people! At morning there are mostly people who hurry for work on the street. This not affect so many, as at evening when there is kids come home from after school activities, pets owners go to the park after work, people go home after work, a lot more cases who have to be outside at dark in dangerous to be hit by a car, or even worse attacked by drunks or maniacs. It's totally no sense for me to change the time so to be dark so early! As far as I understood The European Parliament has voted to end daylight saving time in EU in 2021 and every country will choose in which time to stay. I hope that here we will stick to the summer one!
Oh, but I don't want to stay in this complaining mood, not at all! There is some good things too! The weather continue to be unusual warm at the afternoons, and with the kids we enjoyed it. Also I'm told you before for my acquaintance, which is massive movie fan, and ofcourse she have DVD of "Brassic'', the TV series I want to watch, and she give it to me for the weekend. I will light the fireplace and wearing knit socks, will try to give myself warm recovery evening watching it.

Chris, the rat article is so cute! Thank you for share it, was interesting for me! I'm always know that rats are very adaptable and smart, but like I told you before, I was watch on them as something wild, which live separate from us, but you really shows me that they could be pet too. I hope your eye is better! I got really bad allergic reaction to contacts and I'm not able to wear them. Actually this was long ago and I'm wondering did this will happens with the new types that are available now, as contacts are changed a lot, but I never get the courage to try again. And honestly I did it only to looks more attractive, but fortunately past few years the fashion industry rehabilitated eyeglasses as sexy accessory. Yey!!!
oh, So now Gary will have to do Halloween arrangement for a rainy days? That sounds limiting, but I'm sure he can handle it and come with new creative ideas!

Trudy, have fun with your friends! Hope weather to cooperate for really nice tour around! You are so right, at some reasons weekends always looks more busy than other days, I guess because of the routine of the weekly schedule?! It sounds as you have bottled lots of wine this year. Do you have one of these ground-floor cellar rooms?

Jean, the beetle drawing is so cute! I love any kind of insect (alright almost any), and they are so beautiful made! Actually its reminds me to these animal brushes that some O designers do. I hope that we will see the poinsettia in some of your pages soon! :) Hope tea and rest to makes you feels better and to happen on time for your meeting! Sorry that your hubby will have to miss H&S tomorrow, wish him to get well soon!

Nancy, bravo for the end of home rehab! When you will drive again? I'm agree with Jean, we waiting for your new trips and the scrap after them!

Kay, it's always easier to split with some stuff when have someone to encourage you to do it! So nice from your daughters side to do this for you!
