Oh wow, it was so nice to not be woken up by alarm. Of course, that doesn't mean that I slept super-late or anything. ;) I was awake at 6, and rolled out of bed at 6.30. But even so, that is way better than 5 am, for sure!!!

For some reason, it seems to be taking me longer and longer to clean each house. It doesn't really matter, since I get paid a flat rate, and I usually don't have anything pressing to do when I get home. I guess my age is catching up on me. hehe!
But I got the house done, snuggled with their dog (Irish Wolfhound, gorgeous, sweet and gi-normous!!!), and got home by 12.30. I spent some time talking with Scott. He has to do Current Event articles for one of his courses and he didn't want to do the typical ones, such as Ebola or the Elections. He wanted to do one about the SC Prosecutor's stance that Stand Your Ground cannot be used in a Domestic Violence Defence. (ugh, really??). I had texted him earlier some ideas about the release of the Snowden movie, Citizenfour, and the the Climate Change March in September. We got into a really good discussion about stuff that is happening in the world that a lot of people might not be aware. As he was getting ready to go to Leah's for the weekend, he thanked me for helping him get ideas rolling and a good discussion.
That morning I had a pretty deep discussion with sexting (ick) and how she needs to be very careful with things she sends to her BF- as he is 18 and she is underage. She said that she doesn't do that stuff (hope that is true!) but is aware of the "legality" of their relationship. But she also thanked me for being able to have these discussions with her and not have them be uncomfortable.
I love that I have such a great relationship with them.

Cait brought Charleigh home yesterday too. (That is the flour baby:baby:). She is cracking me up, she is taking this seriously, and adorably too. She has the baby clothes hanging up in her closet and was dressing her in the halloween costume too. I took some pics on my camera so I will have to share them. Proud Grandma, of course.

Not too much to do here today. I told Gary to force me to take it easy and he just laughed, and laughed, and laughed.

Who has good plans this weekend?

Hope you all have a great one!

Phyllis- your cheering made me laugh!!!! I hope that you will still do that when I get nervous before it is done ;)
So happy to hear that the meds are working. OMG, what a nightmare about your well. I remember naively thinking when we first moved in here that it would be so nice to not have to pay for water and sewers. I think I would rather pay that then have to deal with septic and well issues. So far so good with the well (knocking wood furiously!!) but the septic has been a nightmare on occasion.
Is your groundwater level ok?It makes me so nervous when we have drought conditions.

Nancy- that sounds really cool to be at practice.
I know what you mean about not wanting to start a book because they become consuming! That is one benefit to listening to them on audio, so I can do that while I am working or out raking leaves/gardening.
How big will the puppy get?

Trudy- has their been any motive on these killings or any connection between the 2? Some days it feels so hard to be optimistic about life and the world. *sigh*
But then you get to Skype with Mason and that makes it all better!

Jean- we finally have some sun here today too and it makes me happy as well. LOL about your pre-menopausal records!!!

Hi to all of you who stop by and chat! Or read.:)

good morning - well my Devils lost in a shoot out to the Dallas Stars. It was the 18 straight SO loss. A record that probably only my Devils can break if they continue to lose in SO. But the good part was that my team tied the score in the 3rd to even get it to overtime. They play in Ottawa tonight and it will be the first game to be played in Ottawa since the soldier was killed. Should be a very emotional as there is going to be a tribute along with Canadian cities Toronto and Montreal. I am proud my Devils will be a part of it. Last night was also a special tribute to our long time analyst Chico Resch. He gave an awesome speech. This weekend nothing special planned. Have to rake leaves but the weather should be awesome sun and in the 60s.

Chris I know what you mean about having talks with your kids. Charles and I will have these conversations. I love that he is paying attention to what is going on in the world. The puppy will stay small maybe 5-10 lbs. My son and I went over yesterday and he is a ball of energy.

Trudy bet your skype time was so fun. That grandson must be learning words so quickly now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Saturday all!! Very wet and :rain: here today. We are headed to the City of Victoria to take in a date night, probably dinner and a movie as we have free tickets. First long drive in our (new to us) CRV. We will see how she handles going over the Malahat! Other than that not much happening around here, DH was up super early and is now back in bed trying to catch up on some much needed sleep  It is quiet and peaceful this morning, just the sound of the rain on the windows.

Chris - You really do have two wonderful children and it is so nice that they are not uncomfortable talking to you about anything!! As for the shootings well they believe they are ISIS related of course, but this latest one was mostly because the coward was denied a Passport to go to the Middle East. Here is a link to a wonderful video of one reporters opinion of this shooting. http://www.upworthy.com/this-is-how...ported-i-want-to-hug-this-reporter?g=3&c=ufb1

Nancy - Sorry that your Devils keep losing in a SO!! Hopefully they will break this bad luck soon! We will have to watch the game tonight for sure, but I guess we will have to PVR it so that we can watch it after our night out tonight. Always fun to Skype with DD and Mason, he is still not saying too many words, but it will come I am sure and then we won't be able to get a word in edgeways LOL.

Better get some kind of breakfast going for DH and myself, not sure what I have left in the house for food, will have to do some digging around in the fridge. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Another lovely day here. DH out raking leaves. I have to go to historical society to get correct data to cite records in my article. Should have done better originally! Was looking forward to another world series game tonight, but Ohio State football on at the SAME time! DH is big fan.

Chris, your kidlets do sound great with their current conversations and activities. Hope you relax at least a little.

Trudy, date night sounds super. Bet the CRV does fine.

Nancy, despite the SO, sounds like the Devils are looking good.

Phylis glad to hear there's some progress with meds.

Maureen, hope all is going well.

Wonderful weekend to all!

hello and happy sunday to ALL!!!!

Did everyone enjoy their day yesterday? I had a pretty low key day, which made me happy. I got stuff done in the morning, and then scrapped in the afternoon. The second page I made and posted is one of my new favorite LO's. Don't you love it when a page just comes together for you and you have a really fun time doing it? This one was a blast.
It is here if you want to check it out.

https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=319689

I also scanned some photos from when the kids were little. I have so many just lying loose and most are duplicate to ones I have in albums. You can see how the glue in the albums are dying out so it seems like only a matter of time before they all fall out. I want to try and add as much details to the metadata to them so other people will know the whos and whens of them

Today should be some more of the same. I still need to deal with office stuff. And now I have photos lying about to add to the mess.
The sun is shining too- and I want to rake a bit more. The leaves keep burying the dog poop and I almost stepped in a big pile. ick!

Have a fantastic day!

Nancy- 18 SO losses, ugh, that must be so frustrating. I imagine that the Ottawa game was very emotional during the tribute. I saw pictures of the highway as they drove his body home, and the amount of people there honoring him was astounding.
Yes, totally a good day to rake and to connect with our kids, glad that you can do that too.:)
I want to snuggle puppies! And babies!!!!
There was a dog adoption at the feed store around the corner from me yesterday and I was so tempted to go. But it is not the right time at all. Some day. My BFF is getting a new puppy as soon as they are old enough to be weaned. A Maltipoo, I think. I have no idea on the "designer" breeds, but they are supposed to be smart and stay small ~15lbs.
Do you have any pics yet?

Trudy- how was your date night? What movie did you see?
*%@$ to religious extremists. Don't they understand that God-- any version of God-- would *not* want killing is His/Her name?
ITA-- when Mason starts talking that will be the end of it. Cait didn't have any words until she was well over two. We called her Static b/c all she would make is a static sound. (Ok, she did say mama and dada, but that was about it) Now look at her!LOL

Jean- hope that you were able to get all of the citations done right. I did get to relax a bit, at least for me hahah!!!

Phyllis, Maureen, Sara, and to everyone I know I am missing-- hope you are all having a wonderful day. To all of you lurkers, I wish you the same!!!! ::grouphug

Good morning - yesterday was such a nice day and I had to spend most of it indoors. I have been needing to get a second car and now that my son is settled into his new job it was really time to find that car. It was funny during the intermission at the Devils hockey game on Friday Zach and I went to their website and looked at the cars. We found a really cute Ford Focus in the correct price and low mileage. So Sat morning we went to look at it and drive and then bought it. But my gosh it takes all day. Came home though and did get in a short walk. I needed to be outside for a bit. Turns out the car was originally 16K but we got it for 12.9K. That made me really happy! But what really makes me happy is to have my son not driving my car! Then watched the Devils defeat the Senators but not before OT and after a beautiful pre game ceremony!

Chris hope you had a great day!

Trudy how was the date night. Did the CRV meet your expectations as you drove in the rain.

Jean it must be so fun to have your article just about completed. I must rake leaves today even though it will be very windy!

Have a great day all!

Hey ladies... pouring rain here again this morning, but they tell us that the sun will arrive sometime this afternoon. I will believe it when I see it :mmph: I really need to trim the dead flowers off of my one rose bush and then DH can take all the lawn waste to Bing's Creek recycle. Movie night was great, we watched "Gone Girl" I wasn't expecting too much from it, but really it was a great movie, many twists and a very unexpected ending!! I highly recommend it!! Of course it was even better because we got to go for free. Our Scene debit cards are the best thing and give us free movies that we have enjoyed many times!

Chris - Good luck with your scanning, I finally took all of my old photos out of albums and put them into photo boxes, organized by date and different boxes for each of the kids, grandkids, mine and vacations oh and one for reunions. Not sure if it was the best idea, but it works and takes up less space than the big albums. There are far too many for me to even think about scanning and putting on an external hard drive, if the house goes up in flames all will be lost I guess except the for the last few years that have been uploaded to another site. I loved your page BTW!! Always fun when you enjoy putting a page together and it makes you smile the whole time you are doing it!!

Nancy - Darn I forgot to PVR the ceremony before your hockey game last night, but I am sure I will find it online somewhere! Congrats on the new car!! Great price too!!! Hooray!! The CRV handled beautifully, holds the winding roads perfectly and was great on the rain sliced highway, so fun to drive!! Hope your new vehicle is as much fun for you!

Ok DH is anxious to get things going with the yard work as the rain seems to be stopping for the time being. Gotta run! Have a great day everyone!!

Good to hear you're having good things happen this weekend. It is beautiful again today though windy a bit. Leaves make it look like DH never raked yesterday! He's watching football today. I just heard from my friend who reviews my writing and she had only a few small areas of question, so think I can finish it and send to our editor well ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline. Even got a page scrapped last night.

Nancy, congrats on the new car! Sounds like a great deal.

Trudy, hope you get that sunshine today.

Chris, that page is adorable! What a super photo too. Scanning the photos is work, but I think really worth it.

Happy Sunday to ALL.
