Happy weekend to all of you!

It is going to be a wonderful weather one, even better than the last couple of days. The weather down the shore was perfect! The sun was stronger than I realized and the side of my face and arm got red. I had sunscreen on but didn't reapply as soon as I should have.
We had packed a lunch so we didn't leave the beach until we had to head home. But darn it, we got stuck in traffic and it took us an extra hour to get to my mom's. Then I had another 45 minutes to get back to my house. My poor butt was asleep!
yeah, I might be complaining *wink* -- but it was so worth the trip. I wish we could have stayed over like we did last month but we are planning on doing that again in the spring.

Today, I am taking everything out of my Faery-Wings supply cabinet to take stock of what I will need to order. I have a list of things so far, but I know that I will need more things like bottles and jars.

I would love to get outside later on too.

Have a super day!

Felis- that must feel weird that you can smell the cold and snow but the sun is so warm. I am like you, trying to enjoy every last bit of sun and warmth.
Thanks for the good thoughts about my and Gary's Lyme results. You are doing excellent with your English, I understand almost everything you say.:)
I don't understand that crazy man in the White House either. I apologize on behalf of those of us who care about the air and the climate and environment. It makes me sad and angry too.

Nancy- yay Devils!!!!!!! So happy for you, hope the game last night was fun and ended in a win. Did they win? Poor Luther-- all of those allergies. What in the world can you feed him? if you want me to repost the recipe for the oatmeal/sweet potato treats, let me know.
When I left my house it was 47*, and I had on capris, a t-shirt and a hoodie. I packed a long sleeve t in my bag but I didn't need that at all and it was 76* when we left the beach. Crazy!!!

Trudy- oh no, I am so sorry that MIL is being screened for Dementia as well. I don't think that it is selfish at all, it is totally human. Do your ILs have a long-term care plan? I am very lucky that both of my parents have that, my dad is very lucky since he is able to go to the firefighters 'home," while my mom had to purchase insurance for herself.
How is Heather doing today, any better?
We have horrible color here-- and further south, it was almost all still green!

Rae- happy birthday weekend! Mini-golf will be so much fun! Are Jen and Bailey going to be going with you?
Thanks for the input on the nipping, it is good to know that I am in the right direction. she gets herself so wound up playing with Jaida that I think she thinks that she can play the same with us.
You are such a good clothes shopper! Enjoy the new boots.

Jean- hope that you get as much done as you can with your 30 days, but if you can get it all done, be proud of what you did. My ILs did their DNA and MIL screenshotted hers to Gary- Mostly Irish/British with a smidge of Western European which is what she expected. We haven't gotten to see FIL's but she said his results were more "interesting." We are waiting impatiently to hear that. :wait1:
Have fun at your group today!

xoxo!!!

good morning - my Devils lost last night - they were shut out for the first time all season 3-0 by the Sharks. It was the second of a back to back but no excuses. They were in the penalty box too often. But it was sad every bounce went the Sharks way and we hit the goal posts 2 twice and a puck rolled just to the outside. I know you can't win them all but I wonder if I keep thinking based on past years if my team will fade. Now my team has no games for 6 days. Weird schedule. But tomorrow we have an open practice we get to see so that will be fun. Today should be fun for walks as the temps are lovely in the mid 70s.

Chris so glad your day at the beach was so fun. The traffic on the parkway was crazy yesterday. My son says it has been bad for the past two days. You had better get outside these days are not to be wasted. And thanks for asking my knee is getting better and that does make me happy!

Trudy I am so sorry to hear about your Inlaws. I completely understand how you feel after all the care giving you have done. Hope you had fun at the with cut and color and it does make one feel so good to be pampered.

Felis hope your weather stays warm for the weekend. Have fun with your dogs!

Rae so sorry you are still feeling down in the dumps. I am glad to find out that Luther is not the only dog with allergies. I thought German shepherds were supposed to be tough dogs LOL. But he is even now much happier. We found some food which should be fine and the treats we gave him are fine so that is good. But my son is so funny he was giving Luther hotdogs as he thought they were pork. My son definitely needs to read labels better.

Jean have you gotten the new car yet? Glad you are having nice weather. Tonight is game 7 - such an interesting series where the home team is winning all the games.

Have a good day all!

Good Morning ladies... stormy, rainy and very windy here this morning! The rain is going sideways down the hill right now. Not much happening here today, except some grocery shopping and a quick trip to the farm market if it is open on such a horrible day. I need to get some of my Pork Crisps that I love to have for a snack. The ones at the farm market are the best, a bit more expensive so worth it! Poor DD went to the dr. yesterday and she does have strep throat, we facetimed just a few minutes ago and she is feeling a bit better today, actually got some soup down for the first time in a few days. She is very worried about Hunter not getting enough while he is nursing. Hopefully she will be back to normal in a couple of days! No one else has caught the bug yet and hopefully no one will!

Chris - I am so glad that you had wonderful weather for your trip to the shore! I bet you loved every moment! Our in laws are very private about what they want to happen when the time comes to put them into long term care. We know that they want to stay at their home for as long as possible and that will probably be until one of them passes. My Gary is the executor of their will and all he knows is where the will is located and few other minor details. They are not willing to talk about much else than that. Dam stubborn people!! :becky: Oh well it is what it is and I am sure they have everything in place, they are nothing if not organized that's for sure!

Nancy - Sorry to hear that your Devils had their winning streak spoiled by those darn Sharks last night! No games for 6 days?? That is a weird schedule!! Hope you and Luther have a lovely walk in the sunshine today, opposite weather than we will have all day today! It is one ugly day out there! Yes I enjoyed my cut and colour yesterday, always fun to catch up with my hairdresser too, she is a lovely girl!

I will have to sign off here and get some breakfast for DH and myself, we need to get some errands done and get some groceries. I hope that you all have a wonderful Saturday and that the weather is much better for all of you than it will be for Rae and I today!

Good morning, ladies. The power went out 4 times yesterday afternoon but luckily only for 5-10 minutes each time, so I was able to get back online and get my work done for the day. I took Taz out to the pet store and got him a new plush toy and ran a few errands while the rain had let up. Good timing b/c it started pouring again when we got home. Enjoyed a quiet night watching the PVR, then took some SF cough syrup and slept pretty good except for 2:30 wakeup when Taz wanted to go out. I knew that would happen b/c I forgot to pick up his food bowl in the late evening and I heard him scarfing down the leftover food in it at 11:00, just before bedtime (the little bugger lol).

We're heading out soon to go get the new android box controller and some groceries. I need to check recipes to see what dessert I want to make for tomorrow. We'll get carrot cake for everyone and then I'll make my own dessert that anyone else can try too if they want. Since we're going out during the day, it'll have to be something I can make quickly when we get back to the house after our mini golf. I think its been over 15 yrs since I last played. Should be fun.

I'll be working and doing paper work later and then tonight hope to sit down to scrap a bit. I need it. I miss it.

Chris - glad you had a great day with your mom, aside from the traffic.

Trudy - pork crisps sounds interesting. Glad H is feeling a bit better. We both need to bundle up today when going out in our torrential rain storms. Glad I have boots and a raincoat with a hood :)

Nancy - enjoy the open practice tomorrow and today enjoy the good weather. Those days are over for us now. We're into the typical west coast weather of cold, rain and dampness. Now they are saying we'll have a colder, snowier season too than we normally have. Weird weather this past year.

We're heading out soon so I'd better go pop over to pinterest and check my dessert pins to see what groceries I need for BBQ and dessert tomorrow. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Hello ladies,
the warm weather continue at the days and I had a totally lazy day. I waked up late and then spend most of the afternoon in my yard, to oversee the games of the dogs with all these cats surrounds them. Was so precious time! I don't left often them all outside at the same time. And it was really difficult to take back inside all these cats.

Chris, sounds like you are have wonderful time of the beach! Sorry about the traffic, this is always bad side of every adventure, I guess! Excuse my curiosity, but what actually supply cabinet is used for?! I'm I missed that or I don't understand it correct. Is it something like crafts room or what?! Hope you found time to go out, like you want!

Oh, Nancy, poor Luther, such a long list of allergies you'll have to deal with! Especially these outdoors, you'll have to be careful all the time, so unpleasant for dogs which loves to play. And like you said they was supposed to guard the sheep across the pastures and different terrains. I watched some TV show where they spoke for that how past 5 years many human children are diagnostic with allergies, because of the increased use of chemicals everywhere around us. I can't be sure do this is true or just in past people wasn't informed enough for the allergies, but really looks like number of allergic humans and pets are increased.

Trudy, I don't see wrong in that to find more qualified care for our parents when they need it. We owe them the best care, but often don't have the necessary knowledge and time, so why not to choose someone who can give them better support?! So bad about this strep throat of your daughter, hope she gets better quickly! I can imagine how worried is she for the H., and probably you too. Hope the farm market will be open and you will found some good deals!

Rae, enjoy your birthday celebration! I hope you'll feel good enough for one funny day and have a lovely time with your family!

Jean, I guess you are busy, but hope you have warm weather and good weekend!

DH went with me to the computer genealogy group today and even enjoyed the talk in the morning. It has been a lovely day, mostly sunny and warm for October. I know that weather is ending soon! Still need to work more with the last days of my subscription, but scrapped a page anyway.

Chris, so glad the day at the shore was lovely. So the traffic was bad after? But you're in NJ, so what do you expect! :car: Wow, it isn't even Halloween yet and you're inventorying faery-wings stuff. I gather that is for making Christmas goodies. Imagining how heavenly the house will smell when you're concocting them.

Nancy, sorry to hear the Devils lost and that you have six days without a game! Thank goodness for the practice. For the baseball, you know I'm hoping the home team wins again tonight. Great that the knee is improved! Super that Luther is already feeling better. I know you'll enjoy the last of the nice weather this weekend.

Trudy, must be so hard for Heather to be sick and nursing. Glad she's a bit better and wishing good health to the rest of her family. Your weather must be daunting if it's raining sideways. Hope you got out to stores and stayed dry. Hope ILs are as organized as you think. Don't know the legalities in CA, but in US they should have health care PoA and living wills and your DH should know about them and/or have copies. In fact, here the hospital treating MIL would want copies. Oh well, they'll do whatever they want. Hope she is better.

Rae, hope you're better too and having a good birthday weekend.

Felis, the pets in the yard must have been something if they were all out together. Glad you're having nice weather too. Hope Sunday is a good one too.

Where in the world did Saturday go? It flew right past me-- whoooooosh! The majority of my day was finalizing the products I am going to make this year. I keep a few of the favorites and then add a couple of new ones. Then I pulled out all of the ingredients from my closet, took inventory, and then made my list of what to order. That gave me such a headache that I put off checking the bottles and jars I will need. That will have to be done today.

By the time I was done with all of that, I played with the fur-babies a bit and then it was dinner time.

Today, I hope to get the order placed and get ready for food shopping. The weather is going to be amazing again so maybe I can get outside this afternoon a bit. There isn't much to do but maybe even just a walk with the boopsters (aka dogs).

I think I need more :cof1: care for a cup?

Nancy- Sorry to hear that the Devils lost and I hope that the 6 days off don't kill the good momentum that they had. How is Luther feeling being on the new allergy meds?
Believe it or not, the Parkway was fine- it wasn't until we got onto 287 that is was a mess and in both directions. I like living up here in the country where there are lots of side roads to get around.
Oh, I saw that the Yankees lost- must have been a tough loss for them :(

Trudy- I hope that the rain eased up for you yesterday and that you were able to get to the Farm Market. Is it outdoors?
The one good thing about strep (and I think the only thing!) is that you know that when the abx kicks in, you will feel better. I hope that all 3 boys stay healthy and that Heather is back to normal very quickly.

Rae- that is both good and bad news about the power. Thank goodness it was only out for short periods of time but that was still enough to make me crazy especially if I was trying to get work done.
Taz must have been very happy to get a new toy! We need some new ones desperately.
Whicky is an aggressive chewer ATM and when all of them tug together, the toys just shred. LOL
What dessert did you decide to make? Have a super time at golf!!

Felis- how many dogs and cats do you have? I must have been a blast to see them playing together. I can't imagine what it was like trying to get the cats back inside haha!!!
I started a small aromatherapy business years and years ago, I used to do a lot of craft shows but now I just do a small one at my house. I make bath teas, body lotions, that kind of thing.
I feel the same, it is crazy to me how many dogs have such allergies. I never heard of it even a few years ago and now I know so many people and pets with allergies.

Jean- how nice of your husband to go with you to your meeting. I think that tomorrow is going to be the last nice day we are going to have too. I don't want it to end!
It feels very weird to be thinking about Christmas and Christmas-y scents but the way time flies, it is smart of me to get going now.

FIL sent us the link to his DNA results at Ancestry.com and it was fascinating seeing how the family might have migrated from Great Britain to the US. I would love to see how my family did that - my mom's side came here around the turn of the century and my father's father came around 1910- give or take.

Better go going so I don't end up wondering where my day went like I did yesterday.
xoxo!!

Morning ladies... another wet and soggy morning. It was raining so hard at 6:30 this morning it woke both of us up  So as I was lying there I thought, I think I will have a nice hot bath this morning, so I did LOL. I am cozy warm now and enjoying my first cup of coffee :cof3: Bottling a White Zinfandel this morning sometime and will be listening to the Eagles while doing that. DH just loves that he can watch his blue ray video of the Eagles live in Melbourne Australia. It is so good, but we still are sad that Glenn Frey is no longer with us! Yesterday we purchased a new little 28inch tv for the kitchen, so now DH can hook up his stereo system to it and have even better sound than before. The old tv just did not have the hook ups that he needed to do that, this new one is four inches larger too, so I will enjoy seeing my morning shows on the larger screen while I am on my computer. Other than that we got groceries and I did get to the farm market to get my pork crisps. Oh and I finished another calendar page! :becky: Today will be :washing: and cleaning the bathrooms. Tomorrow we go to a Memorial Service for a woman who was a good friend to my DH's Mom and Dad. I did not know her personally, but will go to support my MIL. Hopefully she is feeling well enough to go!

Chris - You had a very busy day getting all organized with your faerywings products! Hope you manage to finish off your inventory today! It probably is a wise decision to get started, the days fly by and it will be Christmas before you know it! Yes the farm market is outside, but they have covered stalls all set up for all kinds of weather, it was just sprinkling when I got there so that was good. Lots of pretty umbrellas all over the market place though.

Rae - I hope you had a nice supper for your early birthday celebration! You must have had more wind than us around your place to have the power go out so much. We did not lose power once yesterday, but lots of mess to clean up on the decks and yards Ugh! What desert did you make for yourself? I am so lazy and never think to make anything like that for myself, but then we have never been big desert people anyway.

Felis - Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday enjoying your pets in the lovely warm weather! I too am curious as to just how many pets you have! Yes I believe that allergies have gotten so much worse because of the chemicals that have been introduced over the years! That is why I sell Norwex products, my home is chemical free and clean only with my Norwex cloths and water, I feel better for it and I hope in some small way I am helping to make the world a better place too.

Jean - You have been having such lovely weather, it will be a shame to see it change! How nice that your DH went to the meeting with you!

Alright I better get DH some breakfast and get the kitchen cleaned up for the bottling. Have a great day everyone!!

Another lovely day, but DH watching football and I'll be doing records online as tomorrow will be my last day of access. Alas to not really enjoy the weather. Tomorrow it is changing, but we're also getting the new car in the afternoon.

Chris, hope you do get outside as it would feel good. And yes, Christmas will be barrelling down on us pretty quickly.

Trudy, bottling to the Eagles sounds like fun! Good for you getting warm when it is nasty out. Hope MIL is OK to go tomorrow.

Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of the weekend.

Good afternoon, ladies. Just popping in to say hi and then rushing out to the store before the family comes over. Had a lovely morning. The rain had stopped so I grabbed my camera and Taz and we headed out for a walk along the Burrard Inlet. Taz was in heaven. He ran and splashed in the water, played with lots of dogs and wore himself out. I got some lovely fall pics and lots of pics of Taz running around. Going out to get ingredients to make a keto friendly pumpkin loaf for me. We cancelled the mini golf as the weather was too iffy. We'll stay here and play a dice game, just relax, have a BBQ and open gifts. Tonight we'll watch the season premiere of TWD. Should be a great day.

Sorry, no time for checking in everyone else. Hope you all have a great day. Gotta go.
