Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I missed out on all of the fun here yesterday, 3 more designers "revealed." I have LO's I have to get into the gallery too. And the Shop! Gah! So many new and amazing designs.
Why oh why must life get in the way of my scrapping!?!? Not fair!

I know, no one feels sorry for me :violin: being that I spent the day relaxing, but *still*!!
Now I have back-to-back parties this weekend and I am cleaning 4 days next week. I need time to scrap!!!
:D:D:D

The spa was wonderful wonderful wonderful! I wish I could do that all of the time. I wish everyone could do that all of the time. My skin feels so soft and my back doesn't feel completed kinked. Only slightly-- which is great! The funniest part of the day was when the woman doing my pedicure pulled out her cellphone and showed us pics of her 4 month old sitting in a carved pumpkin. She had one of him sitting in the pumpkin and another where she cut out leg holes and his legs were through them. Guess what my immediate reaction was??

I want to scrap them!!!! If I could have somehow snagged those pics, you know I would have. I am incorrigible!

Today is my SIL's birthday party and I get to see my little dude!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss him so much and I am planning on bringing my camera and going nuts. :camera: Tomorrow is another House Party here- for peanut butter, heh.

What about you?? Good fun stuff? Relaxing and scrapping hopefully?

Linda S- Yay for Saturday! I hope you don't have too many games to go to today. Enjoy!

Laurie- I know I say it a lot, but I am really proud of you for working out so regularly and keeping sane with it. Happy Vacation!!!!

Phyllis- "No one Was Hurt...." You crack me up! Good advice for your DD. It is usually much better to stay out unless the relationship is abusive.
Dinner-- we ended up having kids over, and ordered pizza..... Next two nights are parties, so I don't have to worry about dinner until Monday! Hope you didn't struggle to much with your dinner plans.

Eva-
I need one of them too!

Hi Nancy- ick, it poured and poured here yesterday! Looks like the next few days are gonna be nice here! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I heard on the radio that the NHL is still not coming to any agreements as of yesterday Boo!!!

Terry- sounds like a fun day!

Andrea ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))
I hope that Gravy is hanging our with my old girl Scarlett (also a calico) on the Rainbow Bridge. Much love to you and your family. No matter when or how it happens, its so hard. You have had more than your share of stress and I truly hope that it starts going in the other direction. Like, Now.

Trudy- How did the visit with your IL's go? Dinner sounds delish and I hope that they stayed over too. You are a good DIL.:)
How is DD doing with the job, did she start yet? I cannot tell you how happy I am for her. Can I ask you a nosy uestion? In Canada, its ok to collect disability and work at the same time? Even if Gary were able to work PT, he would lose his benefits if he did. There is a program where you can work PT on a Trial basis to see if you can begin working again, and once you are "successful" you are un-enrolled in SS Disability. Its kind of sucky that it really seems to limit your options. One day I would love for Gary to be able to work, even at a low-stress, low hour place, but we would never be able to survive without the SSD and Medicare for him.
Anyway-- I am so happy that she has this opportunity- it really sounds like the prefect thing for her on so many levels!

Jen- 10 more weeks? wow!! It will go fast, too fast, I am sure. How early do you tend to go?
After living with Gary's diabetes and growing up with my grandfather who had Type 2, I honestly think that Type 1 is easier to deal with than Type 2. There seems to be so much more flexibility with Type ! especially since Gary is on an insulin pump. Even my MIL who has Type 1 and takes injections, seems to have it easier than you and Phyllis with food choices. If you eat something with carbs, you just take a little more insulin.
And my goodness, the amount of hidden sugar (aka High Fructose Corn Syrup :( ) that is everything is insane. I don't know how you ladies do it....

I have to run, cooking to do for today and tomorrow......

Make it a great one!!

woot!! i made it to 7 a.m. this morning (from 11:30 p.m.) :cheer2: slept pretty well except for the part where i woke up, tried to roll over and got a giant cramp in my leg. i tend to turn to cement when i stop moving, then when i try to move, my muscles go : WTH???? :hurt:

Chris, sounds like a fun weekend. have fun with the little Dude! a page or two is coming from this visit, i'll bet! i ended up making tacos and burritos for dinner. (that's my go-to when i have no ideas in my head.) i have to mail order the corn tortillas i use because the stupid grocery store stopped carrying them. THAT is a pain, but the company is only a few hours away, so they get here fast, then i put them in the freezer.

Laurie, THIS
we are going to some bourbon distilleries to take their tours & hopefully get some pics for me to scrap!

made me laugh. my OWN brain finished the sentence this way:

we are going to some bourbon distilleries to take their tours & hopefully get some samples for me to try!
:becky:

not much going on today. i've been cleaning and doing laundry for a few hours already. much beyond that, i have no idea. oh, i did make some almond flour/no sugar apricot jam/coconut oil crumble earlier which i will dig into for lunch. maybe i can talk Hubby into going out to someplace non-shellfish for dinner. although the rain is supposed to start at any moment, so maybe home and comfort food would be better.

happy WEEKEND! demand a foot massage from some significant other.:thumb:

Good morning - A fun weekend ahead. lol Spending the day with new DIL so that is fun but we are going to get her put on my verizon phone plan and her a new phone so not sure how long that will take. But it is a beautiful day in NJ.

Woke from a strange dream - I was a kid and my dad died and my mom remarried and I was a step kid. We moved to a new house that had two of everything! Too funny! I have no idea what this means as my parents were married until my dad died.

Andrea so sorry for the loss of your kitty!

Chris - yes NHL and the players are still holding their party lines. Very sad seeing the rich arguing how to get richer.

have a great day ladies!

Happy Saturday ladies... Woke up early and got breakfast for the In-laws, we had a great visit with them and supper at the Rock Cod was fabulous as always!! After dinner we came back to our house and had a night cap and then watched the movie - The Best exotic Marigold Hotel. MIL just loved it!! Me too, our guys however kept falling asleep, but we would not let them and kept them awake so they could not snore and spoil it for us. (Dam Men)!!!! Have any of you seen it?? It is so good!!

Chris -Yes my DD can still work and collect her disability up to a certain dollar amount. Then they decrease the amount that she receives a month, but not by too much. She will always have her medical benefits, because she had a brain injury and that is permanent ! So she will never have to pay to go the dentist or the doctor and her meds are all covered. They can't take that away from her. She started her job on Friday and seemed to have a great time! Back to work on Monday for a few hours and the lady that she works for wants to show her how to work her website and do changes for her. She is excited to learn that and can even work at home if she likes too. The perfect fit for DD!!

Laurie - Try a few for me too would ya??? Have fun!!

Phylis - You had a good sleep Hallelujah!!!!! Isn't it wonderful!! Hope that you are not like me and pay for it tonight!! I like the way you finished Laurie's sentence much better!! :becky: Have a great Saturday!

Nancy - I know that you are a big hockey fan, but really don't you think that they get paid waaaayyy tooooo much money for playing a game?? I mean really?? The average person can't even afford to attend a game anymore, let alone the kids from underprivileged families. I hope that they come to an agreement soon and that they put into perspective what the game is all about , not about how much they can line their pockets!! Ok off of my pedestal now :tape: :sorry:

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! I am off to scrap!! Horray!!

Oh my- bourbon is not my fave- I tried several brands- my fave Wild Turkey American Honey- cause it is a liquor, not a true bourbon. The trees were beautiful and there are horse farms everywhere. Cold day though. I need to download my photos so I can scrap!

late checking in here!

Been busy today--talked with my mom.

Met my youngest at the tire shop and bought him two new tires. Still need to have the car aligned--next week. He was on his way home from college last night and had a flat on the way home. Not quite what I had planned---spending a couple of hundred for two new tires. I hate buying tires--nothing fun to play with or look at!

Washed my car.

Sprayed round up on the stuff growing where it shouldn't.

Worked on a LO for a CT assignment.

Hubby and I cleaned AC vents. Have lived in this house 20 years and have never had mold around the vents. I noticed it yesterday. YUCK!

Left at 1:45 for a wedding and just got home at 7PM. The reception was at the Country Club---dinner, drinks, dancing. We left before the dancing. At the wedding saw the guy who put in my AC several years ago. Asked him about the mold. He started talking velocity and all this other stuff. Anyway--he's coming next week to make adjustments. Wonder why all of a sudden it went wacky?

Tomorrow is church. Scrap. Golf.

It is 3:30 and I am wide awake! This truly annoys me. But it is Sunday so I can get bak in bed at 5 if I am tired and sleep late. Yesterday flew by as yesterdays always do! Syd had a soccer game in the morning and then a friend came over for a play date. We had pizza for lunch then Shaun worked on his social studies project. He is making Molokini Crater from chicken wire and paper mache. I am not good at this stuff! (And all through the directions from the teacher it keeps talking about your parents help!) After that, both kids went to a dance at the school. Neither danced (nor did anyone else) but Shaun said it was fun and Sydney said it was boring!

Well, I think that I am going to take advantage of some of these night time hours to do a little scrapping!

Yesterday was CRAZY!

First of all, I have "my monthly visitor" and hadn't slept well during the night, only like 5 hrs - and not even that very well waking up all the time. Mom woke me up at 9.30 and wanted us to go and buy a new thermometer, cuz theirs was broken. Dad had a fever. We went there and dad had over 39*C (102*F). Told mom to call the hospital, and they said they'd send an ambulance. Dad was very tired, but he could sit up for a short time to drink water, and was talking to us. The ambulance came, and he went to the hospital around 11. I told mom to get some rest, we went home to rest too.

Then at 2.30 mom calls. They've called from the ER and wanted us to come and take dad back home! We went there, and he was so tired. I said "Are you really well enough to go home dad?", but he's a man that doesn't want to be any trouble, and since the dr said he should go home, he was going home. He was very tired, the fever had dropped some, but he had taken meds so that's why. He was so weak, we had to borrow a wheel chair to get him out to the car.

We had all the heating on in the car, even in the seat, he was still complaining he was freezing. When we got home to their house, he got out of the car. They have a small stair case up to the porch - like 5-6 steps - and we (me & DH) had to hold him all the time making sure he didn't fall. When we got inside, he only got as far as through the hall and in to the living room (just like 5 steps) he said "I need to sit down here in the chair" - and he just collapsed on the floor - hanging on the chair. He puked, and he was totally gone. Just moaning - not replying. I just pulled out my cell phone and called 112 (emergency number). I thought he had a stroke. His mumbling and lack of response looked just like when my MIL had a stroke.

Dad came through, and needed to use the bath room - I told him to pee on the floor :) But he's a stubborn man, and we managed to get him up in the chair. Was easier when he was consoius and could help a little bit. Then he went to the bath room - with help. Mom had do help him pee, and then he just sat down on the toilet.

After 15 minutes the emergency number called back - DH said I was a wonder of patience then, he's never seen me to patient LOL The idiot said there was no such address in Orsa. She had spelled the address with a T not a K ... not sure how you can hear it wrong? So I said no a K, not a T - then she said there's no such address ... turned out she's changed a H in the address to a T ... eventually I spelled out the entire address for here really slow ... and she managed to get it right. DH almost ripped the phone out of my hand to yell at her LOL

Dad was so tired he couldn't sit up on the toilet, we helped him to the bed (luckily we changed the furniture like 6 months ago so they sleep in the living room, to save dad from having to walk up & down the stairs to the bedroom). He just took the few steps to the bed and collapsed.

Anyway ... 30 minutes after we've got home from the ER the ambulance was there again. His blood pressure was fine, his pulse was fine, his sugar levels was fine. But having a heart that only functions to 25% - fever is enough to put stop to even the most stubborn man. He was admitted to the hospital, and mom spoke to him yesterday evening. Very tired but at least concious. Mom and my sis is there now, haven't heard any news today, but I suspect they stop here on their way home from the hospital.

Eva-- oh my goodness!!! What a freaking day!
I am really glad to hear that your dad is in such good hands. I had to laugh at you telling your dad to pee on the floor. LOL
Are all Swedish men stubborn like that? My friend Lura tells me stories of her dad when he was dying of cancer and the determination that he had right up until the end of being so strong and not wanting an ounce of help.... you are a tough breed for sure!
I hope that he will try to rest and heal and stay in the hospital as long as it takes to get better this time.

I am going to run and get all of the food and cleaning donas as fast as I can, then I will (hopefully!!!) have time to upload some pages I have already done and then I want to scrap a new one-- at least to get started on one!

I hate REAL LIFE sometimes!!!!!!

Eva, geez!!!! that was truly hair-raising! i hope he's resting more comfortably in the hospital. i wish hospitals weren't so enthusiastic about shoving people out the door these days.

Linda. STOP IT!! (ha. as if we have any control over this sleeping thing....) hope you have the opportunity for a nap today. take care.

Terry, when i went to pick my daughter up to drive her to the airport on Friday, i looked at her car parked on her street. 2 front tires. bald as can be. so i guess buying 2 tires is in my future, too.

Trudy, hockey players DO get paid too much. bringing professional hockey to the USA in a big way ruined the game, i think. well, i think ALL athletes AND tem owners make too much money. but whatever the market bears, i guess. they've left me behind ages ago. i won't pay it. eventually all of this is $$$ stuff going to crash and burn.

Nancy, how did the day with the new DIL go?

:bolt: Chris?? was that YOU???? :becky:

have a happy day. do something you love.

Eva... my goodness what a day you had!! Your poor Dad and Mother!! I sure hope that he is improving in the hospital! They should never have let him leave the hospital, but they are so quick to get you out the door so they have a empty bed. It is the same everywhere I guess. You are a great daughter! I bet your Mother is so proud of you! to you Eva, I hope the rest of the weekend is a bit more relaxing for all of you!

Chris - Sounds like a busy day for you! I am having company again today also, my Brother and his wife are coming for supper, they leave for Australia pretty soon and we wanted to see them before they take off. I still do not have their calendar done so hopefully I can work on that today a bit and get it to them before they fly out. Yikes so much to do so little time!!

Phylis - You and I are on the same page about hockey, I would never in a million years pay that much money to watch a hockey game!! They are all a bunch of greedy gus's and they are just ruining this sport!! You are right... one day it will just all come crashing down around them! Hope you get to do what you like today!!

Well I am back to working almost full time this coming week, only because my good friend is begging me to. We lost another employee ( she quit) and then on Friday a really great employee got fired!! I couldn't believe it but she got caught stealing money???? She was such a sweet girl and has worked there for over 3yrs. She is my friends niece and she is just devastated by this !! I don't know what this girl was thinking??? Anyway I told her that I would help out, so now I am working 36hrs next week :mmph: I told the manager that I would do this on one condition, that I got a raise!!! He said that was fair so we have to sit down and get that all straightened out too. Oh boy this is going to be an interesting week!! They better get their butts in gear and hire some more people quick!!

Good day all - just got home from a lovely morning with my DH - my favorite craft show is this weekend so we went to that and helped stimulate the economy a bit - then headed to Jockey Hollow for fall colors. Jockey Hollow was where Washington's army wintered before they went to Valley Forge - we hiked and took photos

Trudy and Phylis - yes hockey players - all professional sports players earn way too much for just playing a game - it is stupid - most of the owners I feel see the teams as their toys as the teams did not make them rich the owners were rich before they purchased their teams - it is way sad that families cannot go and see their teams play in person - my son could not go unless I was willing to subsidize and we sit in the cheap seats only $22/game during the regular season - this whole lockout galls me to no end! The people I feel most sorry for are all the workers at the arenas who probably just earn minimum wage and now are not working as there are no games - in Newark all the restaurants and bars are dying because there are no people coming with no games at the Rock. But no where does either side care what happens to the support people that is a real shame. I totally feel that police, firemen, soldiers, teachers, doctors and nurses deserve the money these players make because its not like when they are done playing they can't work. LOL somewhere all of this got way out of line!

The hockey strike reminds me of a major league baseball strike that happened in the '90's. We lived in Kansas City at the time and went to see quite a few games. Well, Brian (DH) was complaining about it and I told him that he needed to stop complaining and stop going to the games or stop complaining and keep going to the games...but either way, market was what drove them thinking that they could do this. Well, for once he listened to me and that was the end of us watching MLB. I missed it but that's how it goes.

Good evening- total for the two days- 4 places, Jim Beam, Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey and Makers Mark. It has been fun- we need to get 3 more stamps in our passport to get a tee shirt. And for those wondering- we had samples at every place. My husband even bought a bottle of WhiteDog- the bourbon before it goes in the barrel and I bought two cookbooks! Tonight we are going to try the urban bourbon trail- AKA- hit the bars- should be interesting for two old people!

In already, and I had 1 drink. Did go to an interesting bar/art museum called proof on main. It is attached to the 21C hotel. There was even a mosaic limo out front. Entire car covered with those sooth flat glass orbs, in orange instead of clear.
