CHEERY O
I woke up this morning and it was pitch dark out there. I thought that it *had* to be middle of the night/3 am. Nope, it was almost 6am! I dread these shorter day, but I have my light therapy lamp next to me, as always. The sun is out and it will be a really nice day. Our town's Autumn Light's Festival is today so that will be really good for them.

(Claire and anyone else who doesn't remember from previous years, my town was so rural when we first moved up here 20 years, that they had just put in its first traffic lights. Hicks that we are, we now have a street fair celebrating traffic lights. Seriously.)

No way am I going, but the kids might. Cait was thinking about having her friends meet here and then walk over, but it is a nightmare trying to get around town so she isn't even sure anyone will be able to get to us.

I have Puppy School, at 10.15 which is about halfway to the main part of the Festival, but I am pretty darn sure that the kids won't be up and ready at that time. Wish me luck with Miss J today. I hope that we get some sort of break through. I asked Gary to dehydrate chicken livers for her (:puke: ) so I am gonna have to suck it up and see if they will be a better lure/treat. The things I do for my fur-babies. SMH!!!!

Yesterday, I called the Cancer Care dr and they had no record of me emailing them the referral so I put a hard copy in the mail. We will see if that gets straightened out any time"soon." I also got to work on some more Pinterest Halloween decorations- toilet paper tube floating candles, apothecary jars from old medicine containers, a spooky mirror from the thrift store. I love being able to make stuff for free/next to free. Yay for Pinterest! :D

I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Astrid- Soooo much spooky TV/Netflix going on right now. I am anxiously awaiting the new season of the Walking Dead. Did you get to see Fear the Walking Dead? I thought that it was a great start. We watched Am. Horror Story: Hotel the other day and it is creepy for sure.

Trudy- Ugh, that really stinks about waking up and not being able to get back to sleep, I hope that you were able to get some rest in yesterday. You don't want to be overtired today.
I think that is a great idea- be a good and helpful DIL and check that turkey :)

Nancy- it always sounds so fun when you have dinner with the girls. I had a text-convo with my BFF that had us both hysterical. Her parents are moving from Toms River to Riverdale. She is in Cedar Grove so they will be about 20 mins from her which is waaaaay closer than the hour and a half it was. she has a "complicated" relationship with her mom so I was teasing her that she needed to buy stock in vodka. Then she said that she thinks it might be good for her to have them close, and I said that was it, she was already drunk! I love having friends that make me laugh and I can see that you do too. Bet you were in all of your glory with the fam and the Devils! Did they win?

Trudy- that growth chart is amazing!!!! You are so darn talented!!!!!! Love the colors and the kitty!

Jean- good luck with your presentation today. I am sure you will do great!

Shar- Thanks for popping in. I always worry when I don't see "regulars" for a day or so. :)
These shootings are too much. I have always been anti-gun since I a pacifist hippie tree hugger, but this is now getting beyond scary. I am glad that your friend's son wasn't involved but it has to be traumatic for both kid and parents.

Claire- your gifts for Robbie sound perfect for him. It is so nice to have them be truly appreciated.

Good am! My Devils did not win but I still had a great time! The kids are so funny but not really kids anymore. But glad they still have fun! We all rode the train to and from the Rock. My team did score a goal so at least no shut out! Tonight they are down in Washington, DC so I hope they play better. I made it home in time to see the Mets defeat the LA Dodgers so that was fun. And now today is a beautiful day. Cool but sunny! Cant wait to get out and walk.

Chris have fun a puppy school! Glad that the instructor will work with Ms J. Hope the kids can make it to the festival - how fun to celebrate traffic lights! And yes it is fun to laugh with girlfriends.

Claire you are so prepared for your son's birthday. When mine were younger I was better but now that they are older the toys they want are more expensive LOL.

Trudy your growth chart is adorable! I love the whimsy! Your sister will love it! have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Sharron I could not believe the news about NAU. I can't imagine how this kids mind was working - you are fighting and you go to your car to get your gun. Glad your friend's son was ok. Still must be so unsettling for the students and all parents. Lives ruined!

Jean have a great meeting and I know your presentation will be fantastic!

Have a great Saturday!

Hi everyone
Is everyone enjoying the diary challenge- I am its really cool, just never thought of doing diary style for all the bits you want to remember but havent photos etc for.

Really need to get myself into the gallery to look at everyones layouts and do some comments. Really like what you made Trudy must have taken ages.
the things you are making chris sound great so will look out for photos when you are done.

Sharron so sorry to hear about the gun incident. I just find guns down right scary to the point it took me a while to let my boys have toy guns. When I was just 20 a close friend was killed in Northern Ireland when he was a young soldier on duty. Nuff said.

Hope you meeting goes well Jean

Good morning and Happy Sunday my lOves!
I had a long day yesterday and didn;t even realize I hadn't made it into the shower until I started cooking a quick dinner.
Jaida did much better at training yesterday. Whew! We only worked on two commands- heel and leave it. She loves the chicken livers (Yuck!) and I think that really helped to motivate her. The other thing that we decoded from her is that she is submissive, and insecure. (I know!! Only I could have yet another dog with "issues"! My baby had separation anxiety and was on doggie prozac for years. Ray is scared of her own shadow and now another one! I should become a dog whisperer.). When approached by a younger, smaller dog, she automatically rolled onto her back and submissive-peed. Then when we were working together, music from ALF came through and she immediately froze. The trainer suggested that she needs time to check out her environment to make sure it is safe, and then I can redirect her. Most things say that you need to show that you are the Alpha inthe Pack, but with her, it needs to be more of a respect/partnership while not allowing her to run roughshod.

Then I got home and the weather was gorgeous, so I pulled down another section of morning glories. I have almost a full mason jar of seeds, and I will start packing them up to share with family/friends/4-H, who does a seed exchange. A lot of the vines still have good seeds on them so I am dropping the vines along the edges of my property so they can reseed there too.
Then I pulled out some of the fakes candles that I am making for Halloween and the apothecary jars. Painted them up, and am working on a spooky face for the mirror. Next thing I knew it was 5 PM and i had to started dinner. As i put the pot of water on to boil, that is when I realized I had not even showered. Figured it would be a good thing to get cleaned up before I started handing food. :pound:
By the time I sat down to dinner, I was 100% exhausted!

Today will be finishing up my projects and cleaning up the area there. I think I might make an apple pie today. Not sure what to do about dinner. Does apple pie count as a meal? :D

4peasinapod (I think that was her screen name) asked about
Photo Swap - anyone interested?... I thought I would post it here to share. I have never done anything like that. Have you?

have a fab day!!

Nancy- our kids will be "kids" forever. It is great to hear that everyone has such a good time at the games. What would you do if one of them was a Rangers fan? LOL
Hope that the Devils did better last night.

Claire- I have really enjoyed reading your diary pages. They really are a great way to document without photos. How many LO's have you done for that challenges? I know it must be a lot!
With you on the guns, sadly it is so pervasive here in the US. Scott was 3 years old before he ever touched a toy gun and it was at a friend's house. he was even older before I would buy him a water gun. They just freak me out.

Trudy- did you survive the turkey and gravy? Hope your stomach is ok!

Sharron- hope that your golf game was great and that your friend enjoyed the time with you on his layover.

Hugs to all!

Missy J needs to go potty, I will TTYS!

xoxo

Morning
Re photo swap - yes I have done them before, the thing to work out is how do people get their photos to their "partner", it can be by sending email by pm, or a link to a photobucket account etc.
When I did them before we just signed up and you got the photos from the person above you and yours went to the person below you. We also sent a bit of info or journaling if appropriate. The other thing is sometimes its good to say send two or three pictures then if the partner has a few to work with. Hope that helps, may be interested will watch and see what happens.

The seed collecting sounds interesting Chris.
I am "resting" this afternoon ie doing scrapbooking as we had an extremely tiring 3 hours in the garden. We have planted the large bed full of the spring bedding David has grown and probably put about 150 bulbs in it.We also emptied three large tubs and potted up with bulbs, wallflowers, bellis and pansies.

I have a busy week coming up- it is Robbies Social Services review at his work centre tomorrow- the first one since he started in July, not sure the format but guess it might be quick and simple- fingers crossed anyways- the school ones used to be very complicated. On Tuesday I am going by bus to my friend's house which will be great, we usually have a natter, go out for lunch and maybe have a game of Scrabble. On Thursday we are going for Robbies Orthopedic Appliances appointment, so it wont be swimming so will move that to Saturday.

I have done 4 diary pages but only 3 for the challenge have another in my head for the Friday of the holiday on my to do list.

Hope you all have a great Sunday
