Happy Weekend! I am moving slowly this morning. Not for any reason except that I don't feel like doing anything. I don't have to be anywhere other than the Food Pantry this morning so I am blocking out of my head the stuff that I should be working on. :lalala:

Yesterday was good. I didn't get anything really accomplished but I wasn't really expecting too. It is too early for me to think about Christmas. I did pick up something small for Gary in the Halloween Clearance section along with a couple of boxes of Halloween lights to replace the ones that burned out this year. Cait also insisted on getting a dinosaur costume for Whisky. It was way to small for her even though it was a size Large. But for $4, the entertainment value was worth it. We tried getting photos and video but we were all laughing too much and she was wiggling too much (go figure!) to get anything all that good.

Not much else here, I have to get some bills paid and some other paperwork finished. F-W's perhaps... I need to get organized for that.
FP, then rake leaves? We will have to see.

But for now, I am going to post this and get my butt out of my chair. :)

Nancy- I heard that the metro area had tons of fog but we didn't Glad that you didn't have to drive too far to get your son's badge to him. yes, Cait is doing much better and when we went out to lunch, she said it was the first time that she had any sort of appetite since last Friday.

What????? Trudy- tell me you are joking about the snow!? I know that you aren't since I saw on FB a couple of other people said the same. We were up to 70* again yesterday although a cold front came in overnight.
That is fantastic news about being almost done with your calendars!! And the Nativity is moving along too-- yay!

So I have a question for you- Cait and I saw these adorable dog treat mason jar shelves in the Christmas Tree Shop, very similar to this:
image_5d8c6fc4-c1f8-4f4a-a295-bb0acf4088c9.jpg

We thought that it would be an easy project that Gary could help us make to sell at our Open House. He said that it wouldn't work, with the pipe clamp being hard too open and close to remove the jar. We looked on Pinterest and everything Cait and I suggested he thought wouldn't be practical. Any ideas of how we could modify it?
They were so cute and look simple enough to make.

Rae- yuck about the snow my you too! At least you got nice pictures. What the heck with the doctors? Good luck and yes, try not to stress about the backlog.

Jean- I am with ya-- I prefer rain over snow any day. How did your heritage page come out? Great news about your labs (and no I still haven't gone for mine :( )

Hugs to all of you who stop by!

good morning - the sun is shining and it is cool only in the 40s but really nice for a Nov day. I slept until 8am and then up and ate and got Luther out on a walk. It was a good day as he got to see old friends and meet a new one. He was happy. Now he is resting as yesterday he was a tired boy when he came home. My Devils lost to the Oilers last night but my young players really came through so that was good. But not one penalty was called against the Oilers and there is no way that was true. But I must say that as well as Cory(my goalie) played in Vancouver he gave up a very soft goal just a minute after my team had tied it up. While the Devils never gave up it was like all that work and that goal goes in. They play again Sun against Calgary and then home for 3 games. It is hard to see them lose but I know they cannot win every game. I found the coolest thing on my phone. I have always loved it when you take a long exposure of water to blur the water and I thought I could only do that with my dSLR but I saw on Facebook that it can be done with my iPhone. I walked to the river but it is so low not great views of flowing water but I got some photos and then I tried the effect and OMgosh it worked like a charm. I am one happy camper. Amazing to me what these new phone cameras can do.

Chris enjoy the day relaxing - it is not necessary to always be on the move. Our leaves come down but of course not all at once. Hope you find those treats for Gary at the FP.

Trudy and Rae wow the first signs of winter with your dusting of snow. We are still having really good fall weather.

Trudy congrats on the calendar. I still am debating what to do.

Rae I bet you got some lovely shots.

Jean me I much prefer the snow over the rain. The rain makes me wet but the snow just can be brushed off.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm off to a Xmas craft fair this morning, then over to the butcher shop as I have a 10% off coupon so its a good time to stock up. Hope it also applies to the sale items too. Then I'll be home to get some desk work done before Beckham gets her in the early afternoon. Jen is coming for dinner and we'll watch a movie tonight.

Chris - I saw the pic on FB of W with her costume (sort of LOL). I can imagine how much fun it was to try to get it on her.

Nancy - that's cool about the iPhone camera, I didn't know that. Its probably something for the new phone (I've still got the 6).

Trudy, Felis, Jean.....everyone else...hope all is well. I'm getting out of here now. Be back later today.

Have a great day, everyone.

:hello: ladies quickly in and out of here this morning! Its chilly and starting to snow Ugh!! but we are on our way out the door before it gets bad out there I will try to catch up with all of you later on. Chris I love your little idea with the mason jar and was wondering why you would need to remove the jar? If only for cleaning why could you not just put the whole thing in the sink, the wood would be protected with a varnish finish wouldn't it? Ok I gotta go :bolt: talk to you all later!

Today was genealogical committee at the historical society and I stayed for the class after although didn't think there would be anything I didn't know, but speaker said I could chime in - so I did. Actually found something cool while helping one of the students.

Chris, glad W and the costume provided welcome comedy! Hope the day was calm for you. I have no clue about the mason jar question.

Nancy, sorry, snow results in slippery and icy roads and walks making driving and for me with bum knees walking is potentially tricky. Rain just makes wet not ice. Sorry, you need the ice for hockey! Too bad about the Devils loss, but good to see young players still doing well.

Rae, hope you scored big at the butcher shop. Did you get more snow? Enjoy weekend with Beckham.

Trudy, more snow? How can that be. But then we haven't, but can get snow already in October and now it's November.

Felis, hope the weekend is going well.

Did everyone enjoy their extra hour of sleep? I did! It was nice to wake up and it was not totally pitch dark outside. Although when I get up tomorrow with my alarm, it won't be any different than usual. Too dark.
And in about 7 weeks or so, the days will begin to get longer again. *focus on the positive*

I think yesterday was a successful day. I can't say that I got all that much accomplished but I made baby steps in the right direction. I didn't pay any bills-- I still have a couple of days left to get one bill in the mail. but I found out that I am not eligible for the Low-Income health insurance plan through my state so I re-enrolled in the ACA/Obamacare plan that I had this past year. I was hoping that I would be eligible for the CHIP program since that has no premium or deductibles, but at least I still have health insurance and that is critical.

Cait and I had fun at the FP as always. While we wait for them to bring us our food, we just laughed about silly things. Like how my mom thought we were serious about a story that we told her on Friday. We ended up concocting this insane story that while we were in the ER, I stole the pillow from the man in the bed next to us, tired to smother Caitlyn with it because I didn't want to be there. her make-up left an imprint of her face so we bundled up the blankets and left the pillow as her head, and snuck out. My mom believed almost all of that until we got to the part about how we snuck out. Really? I would steal a pillow from a man in the hospital?

On a serious note, I guess with Trudy saying that her MIL had some TIAs (IIRC?) I worry that maybe my mom is experiencing something similar. Some days I see her and she is totally on point. Other days, she seems like she is more out of it She always says that it is b/c she is tired since my dad doesn't sleep well. I dunno- it isn't like she ever goes to the dr. :(

I raked the leaves in the front yard and found so much hidden dog poop. Sometimes I found it too late. J and R poop once a day, W poops so much more than that and I can't keep track of it all. ha!!

Have a fun day today!

Nancy- Yes, the weather was nice to be out raking. It was cool but not cold or windy. Thank goodness for that. How nice that Luther met a new friend too. I had my pups outside with me for a while while I was raking too. Good weather for dogs :)
Sorry to hear that the Devils lost but like you said, at least they kept playing hard.
What is the name of the effect on your phone? I wonder if my phone has something similar?

Rae- how much longer will Beckham's family be around- they are moving soon? Hope you got lots of snuggles with him too.
Wasn't that picture of W in the Dino Costume funny? She kept trying to eat it. LOL
Hope that you and Jen had a nice time for Movie Night, what did you watch?

Trudy- hope that you had an easy time getting your errands done. I know out here, drivers forget what to do on the first snowfall and the roads get silly with them.
Cait found a cute idea on Pinterest to have a small shelf with a rail to keep the jar steady and the hook for a leash underneath it. We are going to work on Gary to see if he will help cut the wood for us.

Jean- that is awesome that you were able to stay after for the class-- how fun! if it weren't for my dogs and family, how crazy would I be? or is it that they make me crazy? :loco: ? Either way, they make me laugh!

Hugs to all!!!

Good morning, ladies. Beckham woke me up at 6:00 (5:00 with time change). Took the dogs out and now Beckham wants to stay in the basement, in my office. His legs are so weak that he doesn't want to do the stairs even with me holding him. Poor boy, he is fading, getting weaker, stumbling and falling a lot more than last time we had him. He's back to sleep beside my chair, not even wanting to have breakfast. Looks like the cancer is hitting him fast and hard this time. I feel so bad for the dad b/c all the surgery and chemo didn't give him much time before returning. I have been giving him lots of rubs and snuggles and he's happy to be close to me. He ignores D and Jen, wanting to stay close to me. Took a few pics of him in the yard yesterday. I sure love this guy and am going to miss him. His owner talked to me a bit when he dropped him off yesterday and sadly realizes that this time surgery and chemo is not an option. It's so sad but I'm happy to have had this time with him.

Jen came for dinner and we had watching "Get Out". It was just what we needed, an easy movie to follow, so we could chat a bit, it kept us guessing as to what was going on and we all enjoyed it. It's not an academy winner by any means but a good solid B movie.

Once Beckham goes home just before lunch time, I'll go meet Jen at Home Outfitters. I popped in there yesterday, looking for a glass pump container for my soap but didn't find anything I liked but I did come home with new bedding, blankets, sheets, pillowcases and sham, all for under $60. They are closing the store and most things were marked down quite a bit. So now Jen wants to go and get some new bedding too. Hope they didn't get too picked over throughout the afternoon and that they still have something for her to get. Then we'll take the monitor back to the store and between her boss and I, we'll pick out another monitor to exchange for. I'll do some desk work this afternoon. It'll be a busy day.

Chris - hope you guys get the design figured out for the project. That's funny about how your mom almost believed you about the story LOL. Hopefully, her sometimes foggy state is just due to the tiredness. Her not going to a doctor is just like my mom was. She went about 25 yrs with hardly ever seeing a doctor, she was so stubborn.

Hope everyone else is sleeping in, enjoying the extra hour. I'm going to go get a coffee and see if Beckham will wake up to eat now.

Have a great day, everyone.

good morning - it is a grey day with drizzle on and off all day. Joey had Luther out and none of his doggie friends were out so he was bummed. Poor guy. LOL. Not much going on today. Will try to get some laundry done. My Devils play tonight against Calgary and then next week they are home. So I will be able to see more live hockey. Hoping my team can get a win. I watched the Coyotes win last night so that was good. It took a shoot out but glad to see them get a win. It is only their second win of the season and their first win at home.

Chris glad you got some raking done and dogs had fun. That is a funny story about your mom and I don't know how she could believe you would do that. Congrats on signing up for insurance.

Trudy always good to get errands done. Hope you have some down time today!

Rae how sweet to have Beckham back for a visit. Bet Taz is excited to have a companion. Both will be worn out by days end. Have fun!

Jean your class sounds so interesting. Have fun you got to help out and you still learned something new. And yes the first snow does cause slick roads and that is the pits. I like snow more because I get less wet LOL.

Have a great day all.

Morning ladies! I forgot to change the clocks last night before going to bed, so now my day will be all screwed up LOL. Chilly with snow on the mountains, but none on the ground around our area, so I am happy for that! A somewhat busy day yesterday as we hit the Home Depot and checked out some fireplace tv stands to put in the suite downstairs, we thought that it would be nice to finally get the flat screen tv that we got for free from telus put onto a tv stand. The boys would love it to watch whatever they want to downstairs over Christmas, it is chilly down there so the fireplace would be perfect too! We found one we really like and now DH will hmm and haaa about for a while before he finally breaks down and gets it LOL. I don't say a word, if its his idea to get it then its a good idea "MEN!!" We are hoping to maybe start using the suite for an Air B&B when DH finally retires for good. It will be a good way to have some extra $$ and supplement the income! Lots of grocery shopping done and I am hoping to get my :washing: done today and catch up on "Stranger Things" can you believe I fell asleep during an episode on Friday night?? Oh well I feel all caught up on my sleep now for a couple of days anyway.

Chris - Glad that you and Cait have found a more suitable craft to do, hope you can convince your Gary to do the wood cutting for you! I am happy that my Gary is doing the cutting for the nativity, there are so many small pieces and that darn scroll saw scares the heck out of me now. Funny it never used to and I would spend hours cutting out things to paint. Another thing that sucks about getting older, you get afraid of more things. :becky: Sorry that you are starting to be concerned about your Mother's well being! I hope that she is just tired and that there isn't anything else going on there! Too funny that she believed your cock and bull story about being in the hospital :pound:

Rae - Oh how sad about Beckham! It breaks my heart to think that the cancer is coming back with such a vengeance! It will be hard for you to say good-bye for sure, but at least you had some precious time to give him some love! Good luck at Home Outfitters, another store that has had to close its doors  I missed out on all the good sales when our store in Langford closed, I really would have loved to have gotten new King Sized Pillows for a good price. Darn it!

Nancy - Poor Luther, no friends to play with this morning, oh well at least he got out for a nice walk with Joey. DH is bummed out that his Bruins are not doing so well, but hey its very early in the season and you never know what can happen right? I bet you will be glad to have your Devil's back on home ice!

Jean - how nice to find out something cool while helping out one of the students! It must have made you feel good! Yes it is very unusual for us to have :smow: this early in the year, but they say it will be a colder winter with more moisture in the way of snow for us this year. I just hope it stays on the mountains and not down below, but that is a lot to ask for isn't it!

Ok DH wants pancakes for breakfast this morning, so I will look for a Keto recipe for myself and join him, gosh I haven't had pancakes in forever! Weight loss is stalled for a for a few weeks so perhaps I am just not going to lose anymore, perhaps I am not drinking enough water or I need to tweek a few things with my Keto way of eating?? :noidea: I am happy with my weight right now, but wouldn't mind losing about 5 more pounds. If it happens, it happens I am not stressing about it! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Pfuu, past few days was so squeezing. Emotionally so hard for my family. It was anniversary of the loss of beloved member of our family. At Saturday was the Memorial Day before the day of St. Michael the Archangel, I don't know how you call it on English. Chris, was told for something similar. But we don't have special dress code and tea. We go on the graveyard and bring food and candles for all beloved that have passed away. It's very nostalgic and strange, the whole place was full with people who suffering for their relatives, even we go at the afternoon, when we suppose that will be more quiet and intimate. Like Emily Dickinson is said times can not heal at all. It's difficult to believe how fast the time is flew away, but still feels like was yesterday. I still feel so blue, sorry I shared all this! Hope you have great weekend, away from every pain!

Rae, so sad about Beckham! But every won day was gift, so it really was worth it! I'm not sure do you are read ''The Art of Racing in the Rain'' by Garth Stein, it's about the dog that want his owner just to let it gone. I hate it and also love this book! Personally I never wouldn't do it, I fight for every second, even when it was so painful for them, but I'm not sure do this is right or selfish, I'm just too weak to can easy to say goodbye.

Chris, I saw many variations of this idea but all with A hose clamp, good that Cait is found something that work, looks like we wasn't very helpful :) . Haha, I inspect the leaves almost daily daily, but I don't take it so seriously like you :brushteeth: , It's kind of dung, I guess.

Nancy, WOW this app on your iPhone camera sounds awesome, you have to scrap these water pics! Not good that today was drizzle but I hope at least the game to be fun!

Jean, so prestigious and fun to can helping others, you are highest level!

Trudy, I so envy for the snow! Please send a little snow weather to here! I'm always happy like a child to see the winter! But also feels very guilty, because of my homeless friends, which will be freezing out there :tsk:. The tv stands sounds great, hope you get good deal! One possibility for the weight loss can be stalled, because of your body react to the weather changes too.

Hugs to you all!

Another quiet Sunday with football on TV. Our team has a bye week, so we don't have to watch them lose again. OTOH I don't much care about the other games today. May sit and read while DH watches later. It is fairly warm today, so may get out too. Hate that it will be dark so early now.

Chris, given your mother is near my age, I have mixed feelings about your observations. I am sometimes just too "tired" to do things but hope I'm not out of it. Silly for her to be so gullible with your story as she knows the two of you! Glad our leaves don't have surprises like yours.

Rae, must be bittersweet with Beckham. Wonderful you can give him all that loving. More shopping success, hope Jen makes out too.

Nancy, good luck to Devils tonight. Won't Luther get another walk with chances to see his buddies? Enjoy the warmer day while we can.

Trudy, your story about the TV decision is great. But once they decide that's it don't you think? Glad he's cutting out the nativity pieces. I can easily understand fear of the saw. I'm not as steady as I used to be which effects how well (or rather poorly) I can use a telephoto lens hand-held. So I can easily see how a slight movement could be bad. Keep that snow in the mountains! And don't send any my way, please?

Felis, so sorry for your pain. The activity at the cemetery sounds something like the Mexican ceremonies on Nov. 2, the Day of the Dead. I think it's also called All Soul's Day. Hope that it was not all painful but had good memories too. Wishing the coming week will be better.
