Good morning and a happy Saturday morning to you all. Did everyone get a good night's sleep so you are ready for the weekend? I know that Trudy will be busy *winks*
I was so tired yesterday but I think I was able to get enough done where I don't think I was just being a lazy blob. I got most of the stuff unpacked that I want back in the kitchen and I have three boxes of "stuff" to donate to the Vets. I cleaned my office area and printed out some new pictures of the puppers for the frames before we hung them back up.
One of the things that I didn't like about the way I painted the island was the columns not "matching." My house was originally a tiny 1 BR lake house from the 50's. It had been added on to until it was 2.5 BRs when we bought it. (The .5 BR was what we used as the nursery when my babies were born. You had to walk though the nursery to get to the main BR- which was a nightmare with Scott considering that he *never* slept/had colic for almost 5 months)
At any rate, the island in the kitchen was made by the original owners from an old A&P checkout counter. The columns and cabinets are all strange. Painting the front grey made the oddness really apparent. Gary was able to cut a piece of wood to match the original trim and mount that and now I can repaint that column white to make it not look so obvious that it doesn't match a thing.
As always, once you start painting one thing, you have to keep on going...
I talked to my mom and she has the appt set for the pacemaker specialist and I am going with her for that. She sounded like she was all good with that and that makes me relieved.
That is about it from chilly NJ.
Wishing all of you the best of weekends!
