Hmmm... I have a question for you all. Do you think I am off my rocker crazy? If the answer to that is "eh, not 100%" you can now officially say that yup- the Faery is well over 100% off her rocker.

Yesterday, I was scrolling along on FB when I saw a series of posts about animals being euthanized in Houston. For no reason, although some reports said that it was focused on "bully breeds." Since I have a mixed-bully breed and know what an absolute sweetheart she is I was kinda...angry. To put it mildly. One of the posts was made by an organization, Southern Paws, that rescues dogs from kill shelters in the south and brings them to NJ. They were in Houston bringing up shelter dogs so there would be space for dogs that were displaced from their families and homes. It turns out that they are based 5 minutes from my home and were looking for people to foster these dogs. (Do you see where this is going?)

There was a contact number to call for info so I called it. Got the info. Filled out the application. And now, there is a good chance that we might be fostering a dog. Open-ended to adopt if wanted.

I knooooow!!!! We are in no position to be taking on another dog. The fostering org provides supplies and will cover vet services if needed. The dogs are all over 1 yo so they are up to date on vaccinations/spay/neutering. They have been temperament tested so they will place a dog with us that gets along with cats and others dogs. We requested a female so they won't be too many territorial issues.
Who knows, maybe this will help Gary out of his depression.

We also got to meet Cait's BFFs new puppy. She just adopted a St Bernard puppy and he came to visit us last night. He is 3 months old and is an uncoordinated 50 lb mush. So darn soft and snuggly and has the most expressive face and eyes. And the paws! Huge!!!!

Those were my highlights from yesterday. Now I am just watching Irma and keeping my fingers crossed that she heads back out to sea. Please don't let it hit the Jersey Shore, I will be so upset if our mini-vacation gets ruined ( #firstworldselfishproblem ).

Today I am getting my shopping list and coupons ready (and dinner ideas, ugh ugh ugh) to go to the store tomorrow and then spending time out in the gardens.

Here is to a wonderful Monday, O-Fam!

good morning - The weather here in NJ is gorgeous. High near 85 and sunshine. My son was up early and took Luther on his morning walk. awesome. I bought an epson artisan wide format printer. Today I heading off to buy my recliner. I found one I think I like on the website but I need to test it out so I am dragging my son with me as my DH is home steam cleaning our carpets. And he is getting all the schedules for all the classes confirmed. He was needing some professors and two of his students helped by posting on FB and he got several replies so now he is a proponent of social media. LOL I could have told him that. My rookies for my Devils should be reporting this week and the vets next week. First preseason games are the end of Sept. Pro football starts this week so we will see home my fantasy teams does LOL. Watched tennis and it was fun. Also watched the Yankees win so that too was fun.

Chris I keep seeing those dogs and cats in Houston and it tears at your heart. You are so good with multiple animals. Good luck. That St. Bernard puppy sounds so cute! I bet it was so fun!

Rae you are amazing with your shopping. Bet you are having such fun with Jen there. Glad you found ways to ease the back strain. It is so hard to (at least for me) realize I can't do what I did in my 20s or if I do I just don't recover as fast. Have a fun day!

Jean so glad that your nephew's home is okay. Must have been so frustrating to have been away at this time. Glad it is working out well.

Have a great day all!

Good morning ladies. It's been soooo hot here this wkend, mid 90's. Its been so hot I haven't even wanted to be on the computer much since Fri which is very .unusual for me. I wanted to be outside in the shade and getting what little breeze there was. I had low carb ice cream yesterday and thought I'd burst with happiness LOL (black cherry). We relaxed in our adirondack chairs and watched a few netflix movies yesterday after shopping (more great deals). We're heading home in a few minutes so need to get going but will pop in later when home (back in the comfort of the A/C).

We're briefly warm here today which is nice. Not much happening though.

Chris, you all will have an interesting time with another dog. Hope it happens and goes well. Sounds like lots of photo opps. Did you get any of the puppy? Enjoy the day in the garden!

Nancy, lots of sports today and much more coming. Good luck with your fantasy football team!

Rae, know you'll be happy back in the A/C. Hope it remains a good weekend.

Trudy, you must be trying to keep cool too.
