Daily Ooo's: Monday, September 18

Hello and a happy Monday to you! It is just another day and one more time that the Republicans in the US are trying to repeal Obamacare. This iteration is the worst one yet, with one of its provisions being that insurance companies can raise rates at any time-- including after you get sick. So one day you could be fine, the next day have a kidney stone, then boom. Up go your rates. The next two weeks should be a fine time for my BP/heart palpitations (it has to pass before midnight, Sept 30). woot.

I worked my butt off yesterday cleaning my bedroom and office. I gathered a bag of clothes and a couple of pairs of shoes to toss in the donation bin, packed a small box to see if my mom can bring to the consignment shop. I don't think that they are going to want any of it right now. It is a lot of Cait's summer clothes from last year and I should have given them to her before the season began.

BFFATS works at the local TJ Maxx and she told me there was a ton of makeup on clearance and she let me use her employee discount. 10% but better than nothing. So for $22 I got her a new black top and some makeup for her birthday.

Today I am heading to the thrift store to see if I can find something for my ILs birthday gift I am making, and if not I will pop down to the dollar store.

Morning gals... I am up waaay to early 3:30am and now just about ready to get back to bed :sleep: How can I sleep until after 8am one day and then have such a crapy sleep the next? Oh well I got a page loaded to the gallery at least. Not much happening for me today. House is cleaned and the only job I have left to do is to get the downstairs vacuumed. Making plans for our Son and family to come for Thanksgiving. Hooray!! Just trying to decide if we should invite anyone else, it could turn into a huge dinner if I invite all the clan :becky: Wishing that DD and her family could be here too, but that's not likely to happen :sad:

Chris - Ugh not more trouble with the Republicans and Obama Care??? Why can't they just leave it ALONE!! :gaah: Glad that you at least are having some luck with the gift shopping and hopefully the consignment store will take your items! Good luck with the thrift store shopping! I love going through all the unique stuff you can find at the Thrift!!

Ok I have to head back to bed, then I hope to catch up with everyone later on today! :wave:

Cait's arm is better although I told her to hide it from my mom since she would flip out with worry. We had another scuffle in the morning and I somehow managed to get stuck underneath the 3 dogs. I was fine, only got my glasses knocked off. But man, they were loud. The rest of the day, they were calm and we limited their interactions a lot more.

Trudy- did it ever end up raining by you? I really hope that it did. I am jealous of all f you with your scrapping. I started a LO for a Sept challenge on Sat. and haven't been able to finish it. Maybe today if I can get my housework/food shopping prep done.
Yes!! Caitlyn already pulled out her decorations for her bedroom and it is getting spooky. :wickedwitch:

Rae- good for you for getting another bag of clothes! This consignment shop must be great for you!

Hello ladies! I couldn't find any deals for products for animals at yesterday shopping, because it was all about the children, because the school year start today. But today I received my new jacket, (I won the amount from a lottery ticket that I received for a gift for my Name day) and it's lovely! It's not so warm that I hoped, but it's always difficult for me to clarify this on net. Will be for autumn than for winter, but hay it's a gift from my mom and I could to not won at all, so I'm pretty happy with it. It's happen like she hoped!

Chris, we also changed our tablecloth from summer to cupcake, but I feel it's early for leaves and autumn, here is still too hot. Good luck into today shopping!

Nancy, good luck to your hockey team tonight! I'm so agree with you days fly so fast, especially now when go dark early. So you have cat too, so lovely. I especially like the afternoons when the sun come across the window and they lay down lazy.

Trudy, I didn't understand is that was the wedding of your sister or she is the organizer of wedding?! And what happened about the boil water advisory?! Hope is fixed now! I understand you so well about the traveling till you have pets, I was hoping to go London watch my favorite actor in play this summer. He play so seldom on stage, but then I was to deal white disease and cancels everything. On 30 I'm still not leave my country and this is something I hope to happen my very soon!

Jean, I hope you had relaxing day yesterday. I'll try to can work on my 52 page today, because I totally forgot it.

Rae, you remind me so much to my sister, in many things! She now changing seasonally her wardrobe too . Great that you found good deals!

good morning - well it is cloudy but not really cold but very humid. We are waiting for Jose to go past so should get lots of wind and rain. Yuck. Then I hear that Maria is coming along next - I don't remember this many hurricanes nor so many so powerful. Did not watch the Emmy's but saw the winners this am and I read both Big Little Lies and the Handmaiden's Tale and watched the Big Little Lies and they were deserving. I got my Eclipse book done. Now to go back and proof read and spell check and then upload. Such a good feeling when it is done. Tonight Hockey is BACK! Cant wait to see who makes the team. Want to see some chemistry with the addition of the new players. We are playing the Capitals and they are always tough. Glad I am going because the game is not being broadcast on radio or TV. But luckily the Rangers games and Islanders games will be on TV. I am hoping that the Canadian broadcast of the Kraft Hockyville game will be telecast in the US.

Chris that is a lot of cleaning and a lot of stuff to give away. Good going. Not surprised the dogs still mix it up. It does take a while for the newbie to fit in. I can't believe it either that the Republicans are still doing their best to deny so many health care. Hope your shopping goes well!

Good morning, ladies. Got up at 7, took the dogs out, fed them ,took them out again and then managed to sip a bit of my coffee and read a few pages of my book (Morning Star by Pearce Brown,sci-fi book). Beckham's dad just came and got him. So the house is quiet and Taz is zonked out. I'll be jumping in the shower in a minute for a nice long leisurely hot shower. My back is a bit sore after a wkend of lugging Beckham up and down stairs (he needs assistance b/c he stumbles which pulls on my shoulder and back). I'll be fine, just need to stretch it out.

Spent a nice quiet evening with hubs, watching 4 episodes of Once Upon A Time (PVR'd) so I think we only have 1 more and then finale, so I'll be caught up for when the new season starts up soon. I hear they have totally rebooted the show, new actors and moving on to Storybook #2. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the show.

Today will be desk work, chores and may bring another bag of clothes to VV this afternoon. I organized yesterday afternoon and for the first time in my life, all clothes are completely organized, separated into categories, and it all fits. I don't have to check to see if I can wear it, I know I can

Chris - glad you got some b-day stuff and hope you have success finding what you want for the IL's gift. Fingers crossed for obamacare bill not to get passed. That sounds asinine.

Trudy - hope you are back in bed. That's too early to get up. I wake up repeatedly throughout the night but don't get out of bed, I never feel awake enough to move around and do anything. How organized you are to be already thinking of Thanksgiving. I haven't even thought about it but I guess I'd better soon b/c I'll be the one making the dinner.

Nancy - enjoy the hockey tonight. I didn't read the book but watched BLL and loved it. I'm glad they won something. I have PVR'd HT and know that I am going to enjoy that one too.

Felis - too bad you didn't get any deals when shopping. That is awesome about getting the jacket with lottery winning. If it's not as warm as you thought it would be, maybe a sweater or vest underneath will allow you to wear it farther into the season. I do that with a few raincoats I have. They have little or no lining in them so a scarf and a light vest work well with them.

I'd better go hop in the shower and get to work. Have a great day, everyone.
