This is it. This is when I (officially for the gazillionth time) get my act together!! I really mean it this time. I do. *winks*
I tried to get myself organized yesterday a bit, I have my to-do list ready to go, a schedule/routine forming in my head. I am writing all of this here to keep me honest and accountable with myself. Wish me luck.

Yesterday's get together was very nice, I could tell that my family enjoyed talking to each other. In fact, it lasted much longer than I was expecting and a bit more than I was comfortable with. They stayed until after 6 pm. For the most part, everyone was very careful around each other and if we noticed people getting too close, someone would shout out- back up! I had set out Lysol wipes and hand sanitizers and everyone had masks with them. Scott started the fire pit which made it feel cozy and everyone brought snacks. Overall, it was nowhere near what the September Bash usually is like but worked.

Today I have a list of a ton of things I need to do, the top of that is food shopping order for tomorrow. And of course, that means I have no ideas of what to cook. I read an article about how to get out of the cooking rut and the ideas they suggested were 100% unhelpful. Gather up some prosciutto and cheeses and make a charcuterie board! Make fresh dips in your blender! See, not all that helpful. :pound:
I have to clean up a few things in the kitchen including the cabinets. We have pantry pests that are disgusting and next to impossible to figure out what they have infested so I have been tossing out a ton of food.

One of the things I am trying to stick to with is limiting my time online. I have to make sure that Cait is out of bed by 8 this morning so I am going to post super-quick personals and check on her. She is usually awake when she needs to be but asks me to peek in just in case.

Hugs and HAGD!

Kay- I feel your pain, Winddows updates are only somewhat better than Apple updates. Or is it the other way around?
Hope that the smoke stays away, it is so sad to see the photos.

Jean- One thing I miss about not eating pork of beef is crockpot cooking. I bet your house smelled wonderful all day! Did the Browns start playing any better? Enjoy all of your lectures, happy to hear that the conference worked out.

Nancy- that has to be exciting and suspenseful with the different races affecting each other. This has to be perfect weather to be walking with Luther. It is very cold up here at night.
How sweet for your sister to get a kitten!

Kythe- I think of ephemera in scrapping as vintage-styled elements, scraps of old books or papers, envelopes. it is one of those things that I know it when I see it! LOL

good morning - well today is a rest day for the TdF, tennis is over and it was an exciting match. Tonight is the start of elimination games in the hockey play offs with both Tampa Bay and Dallas holding 3-1 leads. So this will be exciting. I do though wish it was a bit warmer. My phone plan has been wacko and I have been getting overages. I have so much on the plan that I could not figure out what was happening. Turns out my son's school teacher wife was using his phone as a hot spot instead of wifi so using all this data. Ahhh. Then my DH was using my iPad at work so more data. Ahhh. Then they all send me this message don't we have unlimited. They know we don't yet for some reason its all my fault. Oh well that what I get, one of the perks for being a mom.

Chris so glad yesterday went so well. Sounds like fun. I don't think there is any easy way to make dinners easier. Perhaps in the days when there were not so many choices it was actually easier. Good luck with the to do list.

Kay wow that is a long time for an update. That is why I am a Mac girl. Hope the wind and smoke don't blow your way.

Jean hope the new online classes go well.

Have a great day all!

I'm baaack... Good late morning everyone! It is a very smokey day here today and we now officially have the worst air quality in the world!! Thanks to the fires in California and Oregon and so many other places south of our border. It would be great to be able to see the sky again!! We have had a busy time as of late, getting MIL all settled in and getting their home a bit more accessible for her. A lot of meal preps and freezing so that she does not have to be in the kitchen for too long. SIL Linda has been going with her to her appointments and we now know just what really is going on. FIL had it all wrong, telling everyone that she had at least 5 blood clots at the base of skull. Really she has two and they are both in the brain :fear: one on the right side and one on the left. The blood thinners will hopefully keep her from getting anymore blood clots, but they will not do anything to dissolve the ones she has. So for now she is a walking time bomb!! We are waiting to hear what the Stroke foundation has to say and hopefully they will call Linda too, because MIL and FIL only hear what they want to hear :mmph: FIL is showing more signs of dementia and gets confused very easily, obsesses over everything too. It is time for them to start to think about selling I think, but that probably won't happen until one of them is gone. So we continue to be on pins and needles and freak out everytime the phone rings!! MIL is at least using the walker and other mobility aids to help her out, so that is good! Not sure she still understands just how lucky she is to still be alive. Anyway I felt it was time to get back here to my O family and get on with life, what will be will be. Please send your thoughts and prayers to our family, we hope that we can help them make this last stage of MIL life more comfortable and longer!! I have lots to catch up on around here, but will take it one day at a time. I need to get busy with my calendar soon too and will have to pester the kids for lots more photos!

Chris - Hope that today is the day that you get your act together!! LOL. I wish I could get mine together too! So nice to hear that you had such a great visit with your family! Hopefully someone got some pictures! Good luck with your food shopping and I hope you figure out what to have for dinner tonight! We are having a fast and easy supper of chicken Caesar salad and hubby will have a cheese bun with his. I am tired of making meals, especially when I don't get to enjoy eating them!! LOL.

Nancy - Ugh on the overages for your phone plan!! How on earth is that YOUR FAULT??? Hope you are continuing to enjoy all the hockey! We have kind of lost interest in it all

Ok I will check out the gallery and the rest of the O for a bit and then get started on scrapping a page! Have a good day everyone! I hope to be more present here in the coming days!

Kythe, I have a pretty definite idea of ephemera but did a search in the shop. Way too much came up until I searched only on the title. Here's a link that should help give you an idea: https://www.oscraps.com/shop/search.php?mode=search&page=1&keep_https=yes

Today was DH's H&S Zoom session while I did bills, etc. Then I had a Zoom meeting and nothing special the rest of the day. Now I have to figure out what to make for dinner.

Chris, you need to get a little organized for real if for no other reason than to read the book for Cait's class and to take your own parallel one. Sorry for the kitchen pests, just what you don't need. The get together must have worked if you don't have major negatives to report. Way better than nothing!

Nancy, arrrgh for sure about the data usage that sure is NOT your fault! Hope the hockey games are good. Dallas seems to be very much in the zone.

Trudy, welcome back here. MiL's condition is scary but sounds like you all are doing everything possible to help. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong and the clots can be addressed.

Wishing us all a good day.

Cheery O to my Cheerio's my lovely-o's:hippie:

I hope everybody is as well as can be expected during these "unexpected" times. Crazy everywhere, huh?

I've had some conversations with our dear Ona and between us, we've decided that I'm going to take a sort of "leave of absence" but I'll still be around. I never expected this move to take quite the toll on me that it has. We decided that I was going to give it 3 more months - during which time I won't be downloading anything, but will still (if you're all okay with it) be a Cheery-O - "without pay". I fully expect that at that time, I should be fully functional again.

This move has been a wild ride and my brain is in overload for learning new things right now. I still love to digi scrap and it's my refuge, so if you're all okay with it, you're stuck with me - after I take a breather, of sorts, for 3 months.

I'm going to try to keep up with everything here - except I won't be eligible for any downloads for 3 months.
