Happy Monday!
First off, I want to thank you all so much for listening to me as I tried to process everything this past week. I feel like I was a broken record but it was helpful to me to get some thoughts down, especially since I needed to be supportive of my kids not burden them with supporting me. Although they did do that in some huge ways- there were moments as a mom that were very difficult to handle and they were there too with hugs.
It was awful and difficult and frustrating. I can't do anything to help.

No big plans today, food shopping prep, and then spending the rest of the day outside. If I spend three hours picking up sticks in the yard (in preparation for another round of bad t-storms tonight LOL) then so be it.

Hugs to you all.

Kay- glad my nagging voice was a help in keeping you in line while you did your work. Ha!!
The before and after pics are very impressive! I think it is a great idea to keep the desk, too.
Oh wow, your poor D-SIL. Good luck to him with the surgery schedule. I hope that they are able to get him in quickly. Poor DD#3 - that has to be so stressful on her too.
So smart of you to have a "do nothing day." Hope your back cooperated.

@tanteva I love that image of Kay's hubby playing golf. :)

@bcgal00 So good to see you! Glad that you and the dogs are doing well!

@felis thanks, hon- I forget that you follow Leah on IG. She is having a tough time too- her dad's birthday would have been this week...
That is funny, at one point I was thinking that I could go back to school for library science- I would LOVE to be a children's librarian. Truly a dream job-- kids and books.

@Cherylndesigns DID YOU NOT SEE WHERE I SAID TO GET BUBBLE SUITS!!??
:D:D:D
I am sending you some gentle hugs and good luck at the ortho. My niece broke her clavicle a few years ago and - she was the same way- you could not get her to stop doing stuff. She was also a kid- so don't get any ideas, now.
I hope that you just need the sling for a bit esp with being right-handed. Let everyone spoil you.

Mistress of Mayhem
Busy week this week. I'm working full day tomorrow (Tues) & half day on Thursday. And then on Thursday evening we're probably going out for dinner. Remember my friend that I hadn't met for a couple of years? Sadly, her father passed, and they are coming up for the funeral on Friday. We are planning to meet up for dinner at their hotel on Thursday evening after work. See if we can get it all worked out.

Today Urban heard back from the Genealogy research archive in Vadstena, and he's booked a table for October 11-13 & hotel from the 10th. Seems like we're actually are going to Vadstena. Just hoping nothing crazy happens with corona, and the archives will close again. I'm also hoping for nice weather those days. I so want to go!

Have a lasagna in the oven right now for tomorrow. Feeling like I'm such a good housewife today. Preparing dinner for tomorrow so that we will only have to heat it up in the microwave oven tomorrow when we get home.

Today we're going to eat "batata harra" with a cold yoghurt sauce & some frozen kale burgers I found at the store. Here - I found a recipe for batata harra in English. Try it - it's amazing!

@Cherylndesigns Oh, NO!!!! So sorry to hear about your fall and the broken clavicle. Of course, it had to be your right arm.... glad the sling is helping some. Let us know how it goes at the ortho. Don't know what is going on with so many people falling lately!

@faerywings, I was thinking about you and the kids yesterday. Yes, it is sometimes so hard to be the Mom and give support when you are needing it, too. Knew you would come through for your kids.

@tanteva I was laughing and crying at the vision of DH playing golf in heaven. Yes, he would be playing there as he loved golfing. Thanks for the wonderful image. And thanks for sharing the recipe... and the others you have shared. Nice to get to know about other country's cuisine. Keeping fingers crossed that all goes well for your trip.

Thanks, gals, for the positive comments about the Office make-over. I find myself going in there just to sit and enjoy it now. By adding some of "my" things in there, it has become "our" office rather than just "Bill's" office. Think I was avoiding doing anything about the office as it had always been Bill's space and so much of his personality was there. But enough time has passed (3 1/2 years) that I can finally remove some things, add some of mine and make it into a shared space. I smile every time I walk in there now. I used to keep the doors to the office closed all the time - now I have both doors open and love seeing it as I walked pass. All in all, it was worth the time and effort spent.

The cleaning and reorganizing has spread... pulled out a huge bag filled with used plastic bags from the pantry and separated them into several smaller bags. Discovered that some stores have a bin for used plastic bags, so will be dropping off a few of the filled bags at a time. The city had a ban of plastic bags until Covid hit and they were allowed again. Now it is back to a ban on plastic bags. Gathered up my reusable bags, folded them and put them into a med plastic bin and put it into the SUV. Need to get back into the habit of taking the reusable bags into the stores when I am shopping.

Today I am off to a brown bag lunch with a few friends who were in my Red Hat Chapter. Although the chapter is disbanded, we wanted to get together occasionally. We have all had both shots so feel comfortable meeting. Need to put my lunch together... CYL

Good Morning ladies... I am sorry I was so MIA over the weekend, but as usual DH had many projects on the go and needed me to help him out along with some yard work and running errands he sure keeps me busy! We spent yesterday at MIL and FIL's place having coffee and visiting and putting away some things before the bad weather hits. FIL was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration and the news hit him pretty hard as he knows that soon he will not be able to drive anymore. He thinks that the new glasses that they are prescribing for him will be some miracle cure and enable him to continue on his merry way with the driving, but that isn't going to happen sadly. MIL confided in me that she is ready to look at moving into a retirement home, but FIL will have nothing to do with that! Stubborn MEN!! I am surrounded by them! Last night DH and I contemplated moving them into the suite downstairs and doing renos that would give them more space it would be a temporary fix as one day they will have to make that move into a care home. I doubt very much they would go for the idea though.

@faerywings - Chris so sad that you had a such a stressful and terribly sad weekend! It really is hard when we can't take the hurt away from our children. You have such wonderful kids and family though, so I am sure you were all there to support one another! Yes my hair cut felt amazing and it is so nice to have that nice soft feeling of just having your hair done at the salon. It doesn't last too long, but it sure feels good! So nice to have the hot water tank replaced and also got a pipe fixed that had a small leak in it also, along with turning up the water pressure we now have super hot water and great pressure too! No it was not the neighbour with the leaky irrigation system that helped us LOL. That would never have happened! All of our other neighbours are really great and friendly and would do anything to help out each other, but there is always those bad apples right?? Sure hoping that this week is full of sunshine and warm days and you get to be out in the garden enjoying some dirt therapy!

@tanteva - Are you feeling less grumpy today? Sure hope so! Yes it is irritating when the announcers on TV won't stop talking, just let us enjoy what is going on visually and stop with all the noise for heavens sake! Your recipe you shared looked very yummy and yes you are a good wife for getting a dinner prepared for the next day! I love lasagna, but have had to try other recipes for it as I do not process pasta very well and its not Keto friendly.

@Cherylndesigns - oh my goodness I hope that you are no longer in any pain! That would have been so scary having to deal with your fall all by yourself! Chris has the right idea, we all need those bubble suits LOL. Take care of you!

@BrightEyes - Your office transformation is amazing and what a lot of work you have done! Great to have the golfing books donated to the library where other can get as much pleasure from the as your hubby did! Yes he will be golfing in heaven for sure! So glad that you are able to smile when you look at the office now and happy that it is your shared space, hopefully it gives you some comfort being surround by what was his.

@felis - how nice to see you here again! I hope that you can get back to your reading once again. I really wish I could too, but I always seem to have something else on the go and I really need to get back to scrapping my photos from this summer. Next project is to get the fireplace refinished, Gary has done his part on it and now its up to me to do the faux marble finish on the outside. Hoping to get that started this weekend.

@bcgal00 - waving hello to you and hoping that you are enjoying the cooler temps. Miss seeing you here!

Well I have a lady coming to purchase a covered cat litter box that has been in storage in my crawlspace for forever. Oh and just now realized that I got a GSO on my recent layout, how flattering! So grateful for being chosen, the picture was so fun and the products so wonderful to work with!!

I NEED BUBBLE WRAP!!!! I’m so mad at myself for doing something so stupid!!! I’m on my phone so this will be short. The thing that hurts the worse is typing on my laptop so I logged on with my phone. I can keep my shoulder tight against my side. I’m going to the ortho in the am so I’ll let you know what I find out. I’m off to find my bubble wrap!!!

Pff, I don't know how to process with that. So many sad news and I don't want to be disrespectful to you all jabber about insignificant things!

OMG, Cheryl, so sorry to hear that you are had such a severe accident!

Trudy, I'll never get used to the idea that retirement home can be acceptable option! Nancy tried last time to explain me how different they are and even kind of luxury, but this is just against my culture! It must be so difficult for you to have to discuss this with your family! This news makes me so sad! Oh, and how is your brother with the stinky dog?

Kay, strongly hug my dear, it must be so difficult to process this pain! But I think Bill would approve these small changes.

Eva, I'm so sorry for your friend! Hope that you will be able to meet her and give some support!

Chris, I'm following only Leah's business account, because I love her plushies.
Highly recommend to all of you that have grandkids to check Leah's instagram and the cutest pumpkin head Pios, they are excellent gifts for little and grown up kids!
I really don't know what more to say to you! Sending hugs to the whole family!

I deeply sorry that you are all at so low vibration and have to go through such a dark episode! Hope that autumn will bring you bright time! Hugs!!! Stay strong!
