Happy Happy Monday!!!!!

Are you all happy and relaxed from the weekend and ready to nail this week down?? I am better this week than last week, but we'll see how I feel in a few days
Scott and I had a nice convo and he and I have a better understanding. I apparently need to back off and let him be a bit more independent and he accepts that if he messes up with schoolwork, not having his room cleaned and not being allowed out until it is, then its his responsibility. I think with Gary I am going to have to use the Honey-Do List again. Might save us both aggravation, and his Lyme brain is most literally a sieve. (Lyme Spirochetes drill through soft tissue -- ick). So I have to get it back into my own head that he is disabled and accommodations have to be made. If he were visibly disabled, it would be easier, but I tend to forget his physical/cognitive issues because I can't SEE them. And I would rather keep my head in the sand, even after all these years.... ;)

S, yup, head's in a somewhat better place, new week, new start (yay Sally!). *fingers crossed that i can stay this way!*

Off to work at my biggest house and no Caitlyn today. (Can I put her into Work-Study yet?? LOL).
Better get my butt out of this chair and ready to roll.

XOXOXO!!!

'morning, Chris and everybody. dunno WHAT was with me yesterday. :twitch: i just couldn't get myself going on ANYTHING until late last night. then i made a page and did laundry. weird. but, as Chris says: a new beginning. aren't Mondays good like that? they give you the illusion that every week is a new beginning. and maybe it really IS. i gotta hit the grocery store this morning. i can actually see shelf space in my fridge, which is very unusual. then to WalMart for some stuff. then i have to try on the clothes i'm wearing for the blasted class reunion this weekend to see if they actually WORK and don't make me look too tubby. i wish i knew how to "accessorize." i'm a fashion flop. i need Fiona (Applechick in the gallery) to live with me for a month to teach me how to be stylish.... you should see her IRL. she's got the scarf/jewelry, color thing DOWN. i, on the other hand....

it's 46 degrees at the moment. i hope we don't just bypass the lovely 60-degree mornings and head straight for the furnace coming on every morning.

hope your week gets off to a roaring start, all positivity and good stuff!

Well this week started with John messing up his sleeping hours AGAIN. Woke up Sunday morning and he hadn't gone to bed yet. I had to cancel his appointment with the physiotherapist he had today. Looks like he's on Australian time or someting ... he just went to bed. (at noon our time)

The school nurse has given him (read me) "homework" - to write when he gets up, when he goes to bed + what & when he's eating. Good thing - she'll see what I mean when I say it's impossible to say when he's awake LOL

Plan for today:
playing with photoshop elements. Maybe go and meet up with DH when he finish work. I need to see if they have any good book on genealogy with tips on what to do when you get stuck.

We are into the LAYERS days.....it's 55 this morning....feels really really really good to a hormonally challenges Nana :)pound:) but a little cool to the kids...so jackets on this morning....but up to 82 degrees....when you start at 55, 82 is pretty hot!!!

Lack of sleep always catches up to you....we got up late this morning...alarm went off and Mike hit the snooze and we both just rolled over!! AAAAAAAAAACKKK!!! didn't get up til 7!!!!! I was proud of my kiddos...we got up, dressed, ate breakfast and rushed to the bus in 15 minutes (Jesse had about 6 or 7 minutes extra before his bus came)...all with NO COMPLAINING AT ALL!!!! :high5: HA!!! this takes me back to my school days...Mom would holler and holler for me to get up (HIGH SCHOOL DAYS) and I waited until the absolute possible second!!!

Chris.....I know it must be hard....I am the same way with Traci...I stay so mad at her because I can't see ANYTHING wrong with her....but I know there really is....so I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND HEAD IN THE SAND!!!!!

Phylis...good luck with the grocery shopping....you sound like me....there is not suppose to be any empty space in the fridge.....I am so amazed when I go to younger people's houses and I see their fridge...AAACCKKK..THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! If I don't have to move 12 things to get to what I want, then I am out of groceries :pound:

BIG  all around again this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOTS OF

Eva, have you acquired death certificates of your relatives? (in the USA, we can order them from local or state governments.) sometimes they give some info that will launch you into a new direction. also obituaries (which often list family members) in newspaper archives and wedding announcements in newspaper archives. also, do you have anything like Ancestry.com in Sweden? the biggest boost i had in my husband's family genealogy was when i posted in a "surname forum." i just said something like i was looking for relatives of (insert name of family member here.) i got a response from a guy who was married to the great granddaughter of my husband's grandfather's uncle. between the two of us, we worked out a TON of stuff. i also went into cemetary records and found out some stuff. good luck on this. i had SO much fun doing genealogy stuff.

hi, Nana. i got a giggle out of you and hubby oversleeping.... the lesson there is NEVER put the alarm clock on your husband's side of the bed.

Phylis...the alarm clock has ALWAYS been on his side....years ago when we got married, I was a HUGE sleepyhead...hard time getting up...if it were on my side, no one would have ever gotten out of bed until 11 am!! HAHA!! And for a year and half before Savannah was born and Cameran started Kindergarten (Miss S was born the day after C-man's first day of K.) Cameran was in preschool..so I didn't have any kids during that time..no reason to get up early.....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH those were the days....no kids..husband at work all day.....:whoo::whoo: WTH HAPPENED

I've been lurking around here for some time and figure it is about time I jump in and get active on this forum. I have been posting in the gallery---does that count?

After reading the posts this morning I sort of cracked up when I read 46 degrees? Really? We had a cold front come through and the low is 65 and the high is 95! It's still summer here. Although, the 95 did feel grea since it has been over 100 lately.

Monday--the beginning of a new week and a busy one at that. I'll be traveling out of town for work this week for a couple of days. Yuck! I hate leaving my little haven here. But heck! Gotta work. Gotta pay the bills, right.

Do have a dentist appointment later this afternoon. I don't do well with interruptions to my work day. Just when I get to cranking the work out--have to take a break and go to the dentist. To top it off, that kind of break is no fun, plus it is expensive!

I have some reading to do this week. I'm taking the guided study critique class at Get it Scrapped, which starts on Friday. Need to get my homework done before the class actually starts.

Hope everyone has a productive Monday.

Morning ladies... Last week of work before holidays Yippee!!! Its a full one with four 8hr. shifts, part time????? But hopefully the last week that I have to do these extra hrs! My supervisor is back from her stress leave and so it should mean that I can go back to my nice little shifts. They actually hired two more girls also, so that should take away some of the pressures!!

Chris - Sounds like you had a good talk with your son! Nice to get things aired out and know where each other stand! He is at that wonderful age where he is not quite yet an adult, but certainly not a little boy anymore! Fun (not really!!)
Good luck cleaning that big house today, hope you don't get stiff and sore from too much work!!

Phylis - Wow you certainly got out of your fog last night and did some awesome scrapping!! I adore your style and creativeness!! Good luck finding the right accessories for your reunion outfit, wish I could help, but I am hopeless with finding the accessories, can find the dress and shoes, but after that...:mmph:

Eva - That sucks that your son does not sleep, hope that they can figure something out for him. Doing genealogy is frustrating sometimes, but ancestry.com is a great help, not sure if you have that where you are though. My cousin and my oldest sister have spent year gathering info and pictures, they simply love it!! I am hoping they will turn it all into a family book for the rest of us lazy people, who can't be bothered to do it!!

Nana Linda - Yikes, sleeping in just kinda makes the whole day feel rushed! But I had a nice chuckle over your MG hitting the snooze button! Don't you just love the cooler mornings!! It is so nice for us menopausal mommas!! I used to freeze everyone out of the house when we lived in Sask. I would stand in front of the back door with it wide open in -30 degree weather when I had a really good hot flash and just love it!! Everyone else were hunkered under blankets in living room :becky:

Terryb- Sorry don't know your real name, but please don't feel like you need to lurk here, we love to welcome everyone to our daily chat sessions!! Sounds like you will have a busy week! Enjoy your homework!!

Well gotta get going and get this day over with, at least I have Friday off so I can get my bag packed and ready to go on holidays... so looking forward to this time away, we really need it! Only four more shifts for MG and then his 35 years of being RCMP will come to an end. Sad, but exciting too!!! A new chapter!! Have a great one!

Hi Terry! Everything counts. We're a bit nutty here, but I guess you've figured that out already LOL

Phylis. I've heard Sweden is one of the best countries in the world to do genealogy in. We have records that go way back (think they started in the late 15th century or something like that). The clergy kept records of everyone. Births, deaths, marriage, moving - everything - is kept record of. But at times the priest wasn't as meticulor as you'd wish. Sometimes they just got old and couldn't keep up. Also - all my relatives are poor people, that moved around a lot. They had to go where the work was, at times I lose them :) I'm a member of a place there most "church books" are available for research. Not all, but it's a growing project and new photos are added every day.

There's a funny story of relatives to my dad - a pair of twins. One of them lost a finger in an accident, and when it was time for them to register in the army, only the one with a missing finger went. The other brother got called back, but the brother with one finger missing went again - hence both of them got a free pass, and didn't have to do the service.

Sounds like you all had some rought Sundays and Mondays.. :(

Well, I am procrastinating cleaning the house, today. I can't believe it's already noon! Oops..lost in digi-scrapping land. My in-laws are coming to town tomorrow to pick up my son to take him for a few days. It's the first time I've left him overnight. My husband and I are going to a conference on Missional Communities in Huntsville, AL. I plan to take lots o' pictures so I can scrap them all. It will be fun, but I'm sure I will miss my baby boy.

But anyway, I really should be cleaning because I'm leaving my mother in law (who I love, btw) all alone in my house, giving her a chance to closely inspect all the parts I never clean. ::gulp:: But I loathe cleaning...loathe... Maybe I'll let myself scrap pages in between cleaning things? Yes! Problem solved.

Anyway, I will probably be away for a few days on my trip. Pray that everyone's travel goes well and that my baby boy does well at his grandparents.
