It's here, Halloween!!! And *knocking wood non-stop* it is not supposed to rain. I worry every darn year that Gary puts together a big show that if it rains, there is typically no backup plan. This year is especially good weather specific since the skeletons are playing real instruments.
Windy but sunny, so the Boo Frighters are good to go!

The Mourning Tea was nice, soooo much food, nice time chatting. I loved how Caitlyn did my makeup, she is brilliant. I think there are a couple of pics floating around on FB but it is a Monday in a TWD season so I am off there for the day but I will grab it tomorrow and share here.
The weather was really weird. when we got there it was warm and cloudy, then sunny, then cloudy again. But we started outside on the deck and all of a sudden the wind picked up, a couple of drops of rain then, boom! The wind took the umbrellas, and it down poured. we grabbed everything and went inside. When we were doing the group shot of us, someone yelled Witches Unite and two huge claps of thunder rolled in. Mother Nature approved. :wickedwitch

I had a really hard time getting to sleep last night, I don't think I am used to being out past 7pm I tossed and turned for hours. Then my nose was stuffy and I had to keep blowing it and it didn't make for a good night's sleep whatsoever. Nothing going on here today except catching up on the last few weeks of life that I have blown through willy-nilly.

Hope that everyone has a spoooooooooooky day!

Nancy- Woot to the Devils! Good to hear that they won. Love the idea of the streaming video of the Day Care too. I would get nothing done I would spend my day watching the puppies. :)
MIL's quilt group had a costume party last week. One of her friends has a Labradoodle and she dressed as Bo Peep.

Rae- thank goodness for sleep, I hope that helps your body fight this darn cold. Scott is all caught up on TWD now and he said the same as everyone. That was one hell of an episode. This week's has to be a bit easier, there is *no* way it could have been worse. I hope.
hahaha about your Sandy!! J does that, sort of. It started whenCait picked up a leaf in Septemeber and showed it to me, saying what a pretty leaf. J grabbed it and crunched away on it very contentedly. Now every time you show her a leaf, say Pretty Leaf" she snags it. I know that Caitlyn and I have pics of that from our last hike. Never had a dog loves leaves so much heh.
I am not a huge fan of lime, but the cookies were good, and I think a drizzle of white chocolate would be a great addition.Next time, I will have to try that.
Bears are so fascinating, they are truly nimble and smart. We have seen the bears roll the bear cans and jump on them to pop the lids off which is why we now have ours chained to the front steps. ;) That is good news that they didn;t pull down the fence.

Sandy- stalk/lurk/post away! We always love having people join in and I am sure that the "regulars" here would love to hear someone chatting away other than me. I tend to :blah:
I recognize the name sansan but Key Lime Digi Designs seems to suit you perfectly.

Jean- how did the Indians do last night? Hope that they are playing well. The $20 was such a nice thing to see. Sad how the little things seem to make me the happiest. Tee hee!!!
I am excited and a bit nervous RE: the open house. My friend had me pass out the flyers yesterday at the Tea and I hope that I get a good turn out but what if everything I make stinks? Literally and figuratively!? *cringe*

I am going to go and spend some time with the rats. I miss snuggling with them.

Have a super day!!

good morning - Luther is off on his first day of obedience training. Lorrie the trainer is so fun she gave us a list of dos and don't for his training. We can no longer use certain commands as that is what she is training Luther to do so we can only say Lets go - no longer come, sit, stay or heel. It is only Luther and another dog so it should be interesting. He really whined when I left. I feel like a new mom all over again sending my kid to day care. Too funny. Yesterday was weird warm in the morning and then in the afternoon just as my son went to take Luther out for a walk they got caught in the rain but made it back before the thunderstorm broke. And it rained really really hard. But we still need the rain. Today is sun and cooler temps.

Chris saw some of the photos from the tea and you all looked great! So glad that there is no rain today. That boo fighters are awesome!

Rae glad you had such a calm weekend. Hope you are all feeling so much better.

Jean sorry the Indians did not close it out but maybe better to win at home. It was such a tense game!

Key Lime Sandy good to see new in this tread.

Good morning, ladies. I'm disappointed to see the rain and wind today. Hope it tapers off later in the day for the kids. I've been so sick I haven't even gotten the Halloween candy yet. I will have to pop into the store on the way back from the park with the dogs. We tend to get about 150-200 kids for Halloween here.

Chris - glad to hear you should have clear weather for tonight. If the rain stops I'll try to get some pics around the neighborhood but it sounds like a downpour all day so that might not happen.

Sandy - good to see you pop in to say hi.

Jean - are you feeling ok now? Haven't seen you around much lately.

Nancy - didn't realize Luther hadn't started training yet. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Trudy - stay warm today, it's a wet one out there.

I've got tons of work and a challenge to finish up, so must get going. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Morning ladies... I was MIA here for most of the weekend again!! Yup I was busy all day yesterday, cleaning the house then outside for most of the afternoon raking up all the leaves and cutting back my Phlox and a few other plants. I am a bit stiff this morning from all the raking. I wish I would have taken a photo of all the Japanese Maple leaves on the ground, such beautiful colour!! Now there is no colour at all only brown :mmph: Oh well the yard is ready for winter and hopefully we won't have to do too much more raking! Its frustrating because 3/4 of the leaves are from the bad neighbours trees, although they are lovely to look at in the fall , why do they all fall into our yard?? Of course I am sure that they also have many fall into their yard but I never see anyone doing yard work over there. I had a very successful shopping trip the other day! I found a very nice swimsuit for my laps and then DH thought that maybe I should get something for the vacation too! He spotted a nice little dress in the shop for me to wear to dinners at night . You can wear it a bunch of different ways, I just love it!!

Then he thought I should get a new sun hat too, how nice!! I left the store feeling very spoiled!!

Chris - I saw your Gary's awesome work on Facebook! What a talented man you have! Your display will be the talk of the town for sure! So glad the weather is going to cooperate for the band!! LOL Your morning tea sounded like lots of fun too!! I will have to check out the pics on Facebook!! Hope you have a spook-tacular day today  !!

Nancy - So cute that you feel like a new Mom again dropping your baby off to his first day of school :becky: I bet Luther is the Star of the class!! Good luck with your part of his training too! I was so happy to hear that the Devils defeated Tampa Bay the other day! I thought Wow Nancy will be happy with her team for sure!

Rae - I haven't got my Halloween candy yet either, so I am heading out right away to do just that! I get about half as many kids as you do, there is lots happening downtown for the kids so it keeps them off the streets, which is a good thing! Hope you feel better by the time the little ones come around. Keeping my fingers crossed for the little one that the rain holds off. Sending you more virtual chicken soup to help you get over this darn virus!! Stay warm and dry yourself, but it sounds like that will be a hard thing to do today! :rain:

Sorry I will have to finish off here and get going before the candy is no longer available. I still have to put up decorations too. This morning has been full of FaceTime call with Mason and Heather telling me all about the visit with my brother and wife, they had such a wonderful time together! Then Aunt Betty called to fill me in on all the news about this poor family that is falling apart. Her DIL Carol has a brain tumour now growing back, her sister my DH's Aunt is not doing well with her Cancer and oh brother such a sad time for this whole family. Please send us some healing vibes!! I hope that your Halloween is a spooky good time!!

Yes, we're still holding our breath hoping the Indians will close out the World Series tomorrow at home. That would be so great. Nice day today though cool. For better or worse we took our mail-in ballots to the post office today (they need 68¢). Nothing special on for Halloween for us.

Chris, wishing you a spooky, wonderful fright night!! :vader:

Nancy, it will be so interesting how Luther takes to "school." How long does it last?

Rae, you get a LOT of trick or treaters! Hope you can handle it. Still sending healing vibes your way.

Trudy, sounds strange you have no more color. Our trees are just passing the point of being half green I think and most leaves still on the trees. Seems so late for that here but we're also expecting warmer weather the next couple of days, so it fits together I guess.

Hope all enjoy the night! :wickedwitch
