Oh, dear. Forgive and/or ignore my blatherings today. I woke up in a "mood." I think that the non-stop, underlying stress of daily existence is getting to me. I know that part of it is the much shorter days and colder weather. I forced myself to take W for a walk in the afternoon and as long as I can keep doing that a couple of times a week when it isn't horribly cold, I will do that.
Other than getting fresh air, there isn't much that I can do about the rest of it-- it is just "life." I think that today is the first day of open enrollment for Medicare which means several weeks of trying to figure out which plan is the 1. best for Gary and 2. the one that Gary can afford and 3. see if either of them overlap. Caitlyn also has aged out of her low-cost health insurance and I am going to have to add her to mine. But you can't not have health insurance. I only wish it wasn't so stressful.

No news on Scott's laptop since they are closed on Sunday's. Gary is trying to see if he can get Scott's laptop from High School working. It can power up but won't recognize the wireless network.

My ILs came up with the photos- it sure is funny seeing my MIL with a huge perm LOL Some cute pictures of Gary as a baby. Lots of pictures of the grandkids. Gary shouldn't have too much of a hard time making the DVD slideshow.

Today I am off to the dentist for an overdue cleaning. And I have to see if I can research a podiatrist for my ankle. The one that my GP suggested isn't in my plan (of course!). I was going to just ignore it, but trying to put socks on over the lump is irritating it and you all know how I feel about needing thick socks on my feet in the winter:wink:
Maybe after some more coffee, I will feel better. :cof3:

Nancy- PorchFest sounds like it is a fun time to be out and see some bands and the community. Great idea! How did the Devils game go? And my fingers are crossed that your DS doesn't delete any of your photos.

Jean- ITA that Nancy should schedule a quick trip to AZ (and I think that she should bring me too LOL) One thing I miss about not eating meat is the crockpot cooking all day long and making the house smell delicious! I can always tell when my next door neighbor has her crockpot on. I take the dogs outside in the early morning and it makes my stomach grumble :hungry:

Hugs to everyone!

good morning - OMgosh this cold cough is driving me crazy. And now I feel like such a dork as I think I have pink eye. Going to the doctor. Whew! But the Devils game was awesome as they came from behind to win 3-2. The Sharks are a good team and by the end of the game they were frustrated but we held them off. Next game is Tuesday. My DIL went to a Halloween party on Sat and drank too much so she did not go to the game LOL. I have never understood the need to drink so much that the next day you feel terrible. So I am taking it easy today!

Chris I am tired of this weather. I want the sun! I sure hope the rain is not non stop. Yes for sure having to look at all those medicare plans is the pits. The dentist will make you feel better there is just something about clean teeth. Hope you get a walk in and I hoping I do too. Hope the laptops are working. It must have been so fun to see the old photos!

Jean hope you are not having too bad of weather.

waving to all

Have a great day!

Morning ladies... I had a very busy Sunday so no computer time at all for me yesterday. The dance was so much fun, and the shuttle ride home was very noisy! Lots of of happy people who danced alot and drank a bit too much LOL. Breakfast with my brother and SIL in the morning and lots of coffee! Sadly no photos were taken of the event though  On the way home we stopped at the side of the highway and cut some bull rushes to use as decoration for the front porch, so nice! Poor DH got his feet all wet getting them for me though as he forgot to take along his rubber boots. Then home to quickly change into dry socks and shoes and off we went to visit MIL who is still in the hospital. She goes for another x-ray today, so we will see if they let her come home in the next day or two. So today we are off to MIL & FIl's to get her garden all dug up and pull up her dahlia tubers and get them put away for the winter. Clean their house and hopefully get the boat out of the water too. SIL Linda and I and friends of MIL & FIL will be doing the work, so hopefully we will get it done quickly and get home before the day is over. I really need a day or two to just stay home and get started on my calendars and get my own house in order again. Not sure when that is going to happen :becky: Seems there is always something else going on!

Chris - Sorry that Scott is having a hard time right now and I sure hope you can get his laptop in working order again! Then more frustration with the Insurance coverages for everyone, will it never end?? Nice that the photos gave you a bit of laughter and brightened your day a bit! Hope that you are able to continue to get out for walks with the dogs and that the sun at least comes out for you for a bit each day! Hopefully your cleaning goes well at the dentist, it will feel so good once you are done! Sorry that your lump on your ankle is getting irritated by your socks, but you must wear your socks right! I love the smell of the crockpot cooking up winter comfort food too, hope to make some stew in the next day or so, it always makes the house smell so great!

Nancy - Porch fest sounds fun!! I bet the music was great, what a nice way to spend the day! I see your Devils won their game yesterday! They are starting off this year great! Hope you had fun at the game and that your cold is almost a thing of the past! Hope your son did not get rid of your photos!

Jean - I am with Chris and agree that Nancy should plan a trip to Arizona this winter and she should take us all with her! I hope that you are enjoying a nice relaxing day today!

Rae - You are probably busy with work this morning, but isn't it a glorious fall morning!! The colours are spectacular here and not a cloud in the sky yesterday and it looks to be the same today! Loving our late Indian summer! Thinking of you always!!

Ok coffee and then I need to hit the shower and get ready to meet up with SIL and drive to the lake with her. I will be stiff and sore probably tomorrow, but it will be good to be outside and working in the garden. Have a great day everyone

After gorgeous sunshine yesterday we're back to a dark gray day with wind. But DH went to H&S where they were getting ready to play at a local library Thursday. I did bills while he was gone. Have been getting excited with the e-book I'm creating for a small group of people I researched for the historical society.

Chris, bummer the podiatrist isn't in your plan, but you do need to find one. Warm socks are going to be your thing for the colder weather now. Bet the new mouth feels good after a cleaning. Hoping for good news on Scott's laptop.

Nancy, that cough and cold doesn't sound good, so glad you're seeing a doc. Hope all is well and you'll be feeling better quickly. Devils are doing their best to help cheer you up.

Trudy, you will be one busy bee today but maybe you won't feel it too much come tomorrow. Hope MIL is cleared to go home soon. Somehow carve out some time to get YOUR things done.

Rae, Monday is always swamped for you but I'm sure you're doing your usual great job of dealing with it.

Wishing us all a good week.

Good morning, ladies. Busy day ahead of me (my usual Monday) and at lunchtime I'll pop over to the post office a few blocks away to grab a package for Jen (she gets all her mail delivered here) that came when I was out last week so they left a pickup slip. She'll come by this afternoon for a visit and pick up her packages.

I've been checking craigs list and amazon for a dehydrator to make jerky and dry nuts after soaking. D doesn't know it yet but the dehydrator and an instant pot are going to be my birthday presents this year :)

Chris - hope you get the medical insurance stuff all figured out without too much stress.

Nancy - enjoy your quiet day and hope you don't have pink eye or if you do, it clears up quickly.

Trudy - sounds like a busy wkend but enjoyable. Beautiful weather this wk. I'm looking forward to jogging with Taz in the sunshine.

I'd better get back to work. Have a great day everyone.
