Happy Monday and new week!
*cracks knuckles and rolls shoulders*
I am ready.

Thankfully, I got a lot done yesterday but I am nowhere near close enough to where I should be. The holidays are already stressing me out a bit (more than a bit to be honest). It's the same problem I go through every year. I make a lot of gifts but can never figure out *what* to make. Most years I make a bunch of the bath and body care stuff but the raw materials have gotten so expensive and my supplies are pretty much gone. Everyone has gotten scrapbook/photo pages that they are probably sick of them.

Today is going to be Day 2 of Getting S*** Done. Both kids are working today (1st official day for Caitlyn at the "new" job LOL). Gary has a dr appt this morning but won't be gone for long. My dad's birthday is Thursday and I don't know what to make/get for him. So yeah, the to-do list s already pretty long.

I got this!!

@LSlycord Wooooo hoooo!! I am so happy that you got PS working again! Were you able to find out what the glitch was in case it happens again? You have such good kids, I love that you and Shaun are taking an Asian cooking class together. Just knowing that you are there for him will make it so much easier for him to keep talking to you. It's smart of him to take some time off from work too. He seems like the kind of person that gives 110% to everything and he needs to take care of himself too- and I bet he puts all the dogs before himself.

@BrightEyes I was happy to have that extra hour of (not) sleep too hahaha!! Woah!! That is a great deal on the DVDs!! How will you decide what to watch first? Be careful with your back while you are inventorying them

@bcgal00 Eeeeeeep! So much snow already!! Remi is going to be bugging you even more to go out and play LOL
yes, be careful with the ice, nasty stuff when you aren't expecting it.

@Cherylndesigns how are you holding up, pretty much packed? (ooh, I had a dream about going on a plane trip, and I needed to find a carry-on. I wonder where I was going?) Make sure you pack your tea!

xoxo

Good morning lovely ladies. This is our last day with a predicted high in the 80*'s for 2022. Beautiful morning on my lanai.

I'm doing a Zoom call this morning---market research for a new 55+ community in our county. Should be fun to offer my opinions on things. Thinking about what prep is necessary for Tropical Storm Nicole. I just keep thinking how happy I am that the sale of our home didn't work out this summer...the community where we were trying to buy is filling sand bags again. It won't damage houses and neither did Ian. But Ian tore up their dunes on the beach and the community pool is on the beach so they are working hard to prepare with sand bags. I honestly don't think I would have the energy for that stress.

Didn't do a lot yesterday and probably won't do a lot today. And that is a goal that I can achieve. I need to go to the store and get some groceries. I really need to seriously think about grocery delivery. I just hate to go to the grocery store. On the other hand, it probably helps to keep me from turning into a complete hermit.

Have a great day!

@faerywings it sounds like yesterday was productive. And, my approach to the holidays this year is to remember that I have never missed one yet so I'm sure I'll get it together in time. I bet the same is true of you! It will come together. Yes, I'm so glad that Shaun is talking to us. I thought it would be a nice break for him while we were gone but I think that it just reinforced how lonely he is here. The cooking class is a start. And having a break from work. He does put so much of himself into things...and that sure can create burnout. I was actually thinking the same thing with Syd last night. I don't think that I have done a good job of modeling self-care. Because, to be honest, we didn't ever hear about self-care when I was young. Anyway, trying to get that figured out for me and maybe they can learn a bit of it by watching me. And, yes, getting PS to work again was a huge relief. I know exactly what to look at first if it happens again!

@bcgal00 I can't believe all of the snow that you have! I'm more accustomed to those first snows being light and melting quickly. New adventures ahead for sure.

@Cherylndesigns hope the packing goes quickly. We will sure miss you in here every day and will be thinking about you and your Florida family as well as your Oklahoma family. Our numbers are getting sparse in the Daily O's.

@vickyday I'm loving your daily gratitude pages. You have inspired me and I'm going to begin doing the same.

AWW! Thank you, Linda! I should do it every day of the year! It helps to change your perspective, that's for sure!

Oh, Brother! I'm a day ahead of myself! I kept searching and waiting for the Tuesday edition of Daily Ooos! I saw your posts in yesterdays and couldn't figure out why you hadn't started "today's!" Then I woke up! o_O

Anyway.......
Good Monday Morning to you all!
I think today might be a day to spend in my She Shed! The sun is up (after a cloudy, dreary Sunday) and it is still in the 60's! I need to get some groceries first, but then I'm going to spend the day in the shed doing a bit of cleaning out and organizing!

Have a great day!

There was no talk, really, of self-care when I was growing up, either, Linda! It was always drilled into you to work hard no matter what you are doing! Even now I feel guilty sometimes about doing nothing in retirement!

Good morning ladies. Remi is happy. We woke up to another 4" or so of snow. Remi has been out 3 times already and is crying at the door to keep going out. I've never seen a dog who loves snow like she does. Ok, I'm back...just took her out for 15 min and let the dogs play while I swept the porch stairs and fed the birds. This should make you smile :) I'll come back later. I need to warm up and get more coffee.

Slow but sure does it... Couldn't resist playing with Bliss by Daydream Designs and the fabulous template by @wombat146 this morning. Enjoyed scrapping even though I had to take a couple of breaks while working on the LO. Of course waking up at 5:30AM gave me an extra hour to spend on it. ;)

@BrightEyes I was happy to have that extra hour of (not) sleep too hahaha!! Woah!! That is a great deal on the DVDs!! How will you decide what to watch first? Be careful with your back while you are inventorying them
Moved all the books/papers from the bottom shelf in the DVD bookcase into a laundry basket. Will work on where to put them later on. Finished the inventory - had the DVDs stacked on the kitchen table and sat in a chair to input them into the DB on the laptop.
Then took them into the office. Sorted all the stacks of DVDs into alphabetical order in a couple of rows on the floor near the DVD bookcase. Then I sat on a footstool between the bookcase and the DVDs... so I could reach both easily. Took a few breaks but got them all in place. I did set aside 5 DVDs to watch soon - a mixture of different types ..... a couple of comedies, a fire drama, and a couple of real life docudramas. After supper, I took the time to mark which DVDs I have watched in the paper inventory notebook. Don't think I will be buying any more DVDs for awhile - as the Friendship store had put out all the boxes of DVDs they had in the storeroom. :p Between DVDs and books, I have plenty to enjoy.

Tomorrow is lunch with my Red Hat chapter, so won't be popping in. Have a good week.

Good morning my lovelies,

My last morning to say hi for a while. After Steph gets out of the hospital, I should be able to say a quick hello, and I'll definitely stop in when I can and update you on her progress. We're rolling out of here at 6:30 in the am. UGH

Packing is going okay. We (Chuck) decided yesterday that he was going to UPS a box to me so I wouldn't be over the 50-pound limit on my one free checked bag. So, I'm packing what I need for a few days, and he'll get the rest of my stuff to me a few days after I get there. There's a UPS store right around the corner from Steph's, so I can jump over there and send my stuff back. Also, if I buy anything there (who me?) I won't have to worry about stuffing it in my suitcase.

We were going to mail ALL of my stuff early so I wouldn't even have to check a bag, but I get one bag free, so we're splitting it up. They're so picky about the weight anymore, so I was stressing over the limit. Everything's a big deal anymore - ugh.

Chris @faerywings that's so funny that you dreamed about flying last night. You're like me - suggestions are put in my head so easily for my dreams. Haha I got great news this morning - the seamstress called me and said she had my jeans altered! When I took them in Thursday, she said it would be 2 weeks. I heard Chuck out there sweet talking her about how I wanted to take them with me Tuesday and she got both pairs done. I couldn't believe it when I saw her name on caller ID this am. I so wanted to take one pair with me, at least. He's going to go pick them up later and he'll need to tip her big!

I'm going to get off here and start the final organization. Ava's coming over this afternoon and helping me (Adrienne is, too) I think they're coming at different times. Yes, Linda @LSlycord "both" my families will be impacted. LOL We had family dinner last night and even Roger was complaining about me being gone for so long. Je said the ranch wasn't going to be the same. I'm on all of their Live 365's and "find My Iphone" so they can keep track of me. LOL We wished we'd ordered those "location devices". LOL They can already s3e where I am at all times, unless I shut my end off. Too Funny. I finally told them I'd leave a trail of breakcrumbs if nothing else. BWAHAHA

I forgot to hit send. #dk#crazy

Good news today! Got an e-mail from my boss. She had heard back from HR and I will be able to work. I will work 20% from Nov 15 til March 31! 20% equals 8 hrs/week. It's basically 1 day/week, but I guess it can be 2 days some weeks & no days another. All depending when I'm needed.

Yay! Money for me & great to know they want me there. I'm sooooo happy & relieved.

Work the 17th next time & we'll sign the papers then.
