Welp. It is here, the last day I have before I have my official holiday FREAK OUT!

I have to say that things are slowly coming together- as in they are only millions of miles apart instead of light-years apart. Progress. :pound:

I finished cleaning downstairs so I will ask Scott to start bringing the boxes down from the attic. I also decided to make life "easier" (fingers crossed this works out as planned) and instead of trying to shop for separate gifts for my two nieces, I am going to put together a little basket of homemade items for the family. I think I am going to do the same for Arlene, my brother and SIL, my ILs. Maybe even my mom and dad. It means I will be busy but it will be easier than staring at the computer trying to find items in my budget.

Besides cleaning, I finished the LO for the upcoming party. I also found a pattern for little bat ornaments and I made one for Cait's stocking. I have to say, it came out really cute, I just have to sew it together and add some eyes/fangs. The best part of it was my first successful magic circle!! A magic circle is a way to start crocheting in the round and you can pull the stitches very tight to close it up. I never was able to get it right and would fall back to using chain stitches which don't look as good. But woohoo, I did it!!

First thing this morning I am going to pull all of my cookie ingredients out and take stock. Then I am going to see what needs to be added to the grocery list and place that order.
BTW- I asked Gary about the shortbreads and he said yes, he would eat them. He said he probably shouldn't but that he would anyway. No surprise there! hah!

I need to get Cait out of bed to start her day. Back in a few!

Morning, all. Woke up at 4:30 AM to a light shining on the door blinds next to my bed. Looked out and saw the full moon shining down. It was almost a spot-light on the door. It was only 27* so is a chilly start to the day. Most of the snow on our side of the mountain [west side] has faded away.

I needed a lift to my spirits... and in keeping with tradition... yesterday I decorated for Christmas. I pulled out my aunt's/mom's/mine 3' gold pinecone tree and put it on one of the buffets along with a gold angel. Put my 2 Victorian Santa's and purple/gold angel on the other buffet. And added a burgundy tablecloth topped with a lace tablecloth. My long wrought-iron candle holder with holiday foliage is on a long burgundy satin runner to finish it off. And I have my burgundy/gold grapevine wreath hanging on the inside of the front door - in the living/dining room. That is going to be it for this year. Not up to moving furniture around to put up the 7' Christmas tree in front of the living room window this year especially since the great-grands aren't living here and won't be coming over for Christmas.

Had a nice on-line family chat with DSon#1 and DD#1 yesterday afternoon. DSon#1 was saying it was cold in Las Vegas, NV... down to low 40's... plus they had had rain - 1st in over 200+ days. DD#1 will be coming home from AZ this week but will be in self-isolated 14 day quarantine once she gets home. We got the good news that GSon#2 does not have Covid... it was just a bad, bad cold. He, his GF and son have all been sick for over a week so he got tested.

Yes, Chris... I know where my long johns are... in my chest-of-drawers... and I did get them out to wear along with a heavier pair of pants and sweatshirt. Looks like we are in for another cold front tomorrow. So I need to cut this short and get dressed and head for the grocery store. CYL

good morning - getting drenched by rain. It will be an all day rain and windy too. Today is cyber Monday and I have gone on Amazon and wow they had everything I wanted. They have the cutest stuffed birds that look like the real birds and make the real life bird songs. I am happy! My house smells good from the tree. Luther keeps wanting to bury something behind it but he has not taken it down yet. So this Sat will be the big decorate the tree and dinner. It will be with both my boys and their main squeezes and of course the kids. Should be fun. Yesterday had two good walks with Luther. It was lovely out. But the best was my DH finally put up my bike so I can ride inside on days like today. It has been over 2 years since I rode my bike and I rode it this am. My DH did not think I could get on and off but I did great. I only did 15 min and it makes me so happy to think that perhaps by summer I can actually ride outside again. My youngest son and his main squeeze brought down dinner. They really are so funny together. And my son is so tired. I love it it is like karma. But they really are happy so that makes us happy!

Chris glad cleaned and all is ready for your decoration celebration. I love your bat ornament. It must be so cute. Congrats on getting a page done. I am glad that your Gary will be able to try the shortbreads. I have started watching the BBC version of an updated Sherlock Holmes. It is awesome but sometimes the words get lost with their accents. But it is fun seeing it updated and done by the British.

Kay wow 27F is cold. I would be wearing long underwear too! Hope the grocery shopping goes well. I am putting it off until tomorrow when there is no rain. Glad that the covid test turned out negative. How fun to talk to your family. And better that one will be their soon.

Trudy a snowblower awesome. And I think that Chris is probably correct and this means less snow for you.

Jean yea for those Browns. They did hang on. I am hearing this is a great record breaking year for them.

Cheryl sounds like you will have a calm week coming up. Maybe this will be just the thing to get the house construction moving again.

Felis please stay. They have not kicked me out and I have not scrapped in a while.

Have a great day all!

Good Monday morning everyone! It will be a nice quiet day for me today. DH is back at work and man did he keep me busy this weekend LOL. Just kidding, he was great and we both kind of did out own thing for most of the day. He was happily playing around with his new toy (snowblower) and is anxiously waiting for the snow to start falling LOL. I told him now he has spent all that money on his new toy, we won't get any snow this winter. That happened the year he bought a great big snowblower when we lived in Regina, no snow, well not enough to use a snowblower on anyway. However all the other years we lived there we had record amounts of the white stuff! This new snowblower is light only 50lbs and runs on two lithium batteries, it has amazing power though and I will be able to use it, so that is good! I got all my housework done yesterday and today I really need to start wrapping presents so I can get them in the mail!

Chris - I am glad that your Gary is able to eat the shortbreads, even if he knows he shouldn't LOL. Congrats on figuring out the magic circle stitch!! Hooray!!! I have to get my layout completed for the upcoming party too!! I really should have done that yesterday! I am happy that you are getting some help from Scott with the decorations, you certainly don't need to be in that attic and twist your back again!! Hope you don't need to get too much in the way of cookie ingredients. I am not sure if MIL and FIL will be coming here for Christmas yet so I haven't bothered with making any goodies so far. I doubt that anyone will be here for the holidays and that makes me sad!!

Felis - Ha Ha, yes I really need to find a pattern to cut out for a Donkey for my Nativity Scene and I will call it Felis LOL. Sure hope we hear more from you in the coming days!! We all have missed you so much!

Kay - Wow that moon must have been a sight to see! Too cloudy here to see the moon last night darn it! Hope you can stay warm and cozy and that you have a successful trip to the grocery store! Hooray for Gson#2 not to have Covid what a relief!!

Ok I need to hit the shower and get this day going! Have a wonderful day everyone and I hope you do something creative today!

Good morning, Sweet O's. I feel SO much better this morning!

Chris, I have NO idea how that pie got in front of me - let alone into my mouth!!! It was SO good, but kind of started rock and rolling around in my stomach by late last night.

It's SO quiet here today! The last 10 days have been insane, but fun. Daisy is even exhausted! Chuck said she's been almost lethargic since she got up. He was worried about her and I reminded him that she was probably just like us, plus confused about where all the people went. Poor thing. She's had constant excitement for 10 days!

I hope the work will start on our house now! They promised that the flooring was going in this week and the granite guy squeezed us up on the list (I'm sure there was some persuasion) so that was good news. We got our appliances this weekend - gorgeous stainless steel. I haven't added any pictures to my album but I will this week. Black Friday sales brought the appliances WAY down in price!

Those bat ornaments sound adorable, Chris! I'm pretty sure there are bats in the barn. I hear something flying around and hitting the walls whenever I listen in. I won't go in there alone, and we've only been in there once, to look at our flooring. If I do find them, I'll name them, then they'll be pets.

Let's see, we found a gorgeous Great Pyrenees dog Saturday. He obviously belonged to somebody, and had apparently escaped from his collar. He had wandered onto our 50 acres and we were frightened because the guys were all out hunting. Not good for a roaming dog. Ava finally put him in her car (hair city) and took him around to various farms, to no avail. She brought him back and put pictures of him on FB and found his owner in about an hour!

Our dd bought us some beautiful pre-lit garland for our front porch and hung it - it looks so pretty. I'm going to try to find a pre-lit wreath now. I have a fall wreath up, but can't find my Christmas wreath. LOL Story of my life in boxes.

Nancy, I hope you-re right that the work of the house goes crazy this week! we're getting very impatient. Maybe the guys can stay out of the deer blinds finally! I know that one of them got a buck (ugh) and Braden shot a turkey. (We did NOT have it for Thanksgiving!) :amen:

Have a good day, all. Group hug.::grouphug

Good morning ladies. Had a quiet wkend but somehow aggravated my back so will have to lay down and be extra careful for a few days. I'm in more pain but not excruciating so I'll accept that. I guess that's the way my life will be now, I'll have good day and bad days but know I know to take it easy when I have a bad day.

Started Absentia on the wkend. It's with the woman from the Castle TV show. We both are enjoying it.

Thought of another gift for D so will get out in the next couple of days to get it. I stayed away from shopping on the wkend, too many people out there so early morning during the wk I think will be better.

I'd better get to work but wanted to pop in and say hi.

Chris - show us a pic of your crocheting. Sounds cute.

OK, I'm back in my full glamour (as we says here)! :brushteeth:
My frailty is that I'm very superficial. And also my flaw that I can't define correctly intonations. As in my culture we are very combative and argumentative, I too often get wrong an advice for reprimands. So I discussed it with Chris, and she think that I'm totally crazy and should not act so impetuous. So I'm back.
Today we wake up in the white world. I'm always love the snow, makes me feels festive and purified. But this winter it's makes me also melancholic! I'm almost tempted to start one of these Project 25 days of december, just to check how much 2020 can screw this christmas LOL. But I'm not so brave to provoke the Fate, as we all know she's b***..

Chris, I want to see the pattern too! The gift basket sounds lovely, I hope they'll like it!

OMG, Trudy, you can't named donkey Felis as felis means cat :biggrin1:, but from other side I really love this idea! It's really hard to be a donkey who travel with pregnant woman. Maybe should call him Feliz. I'm sure that the snowblower will be lots of fun!

Oh, Rae, I'm missed this about your back, how you hurt it? Are you try Cosmodisc? My mom and her friend have it, mom like it but her friend not, I guess it depends of the reason for the back pains. My cousin wear the short one. Lots of jobs provoke these pains.

Cheryl, your new house sounds so gorgeous! I can't wait to know you better! Daisy is so adorable! Are you sure there are bats in the barn, as they can be also little owl (Athene noctua)? They are really cute and hard to see as they hide pretty well.

Nancy, I love so much your idea for the kids birding kits! I'm so happy you made good Monday shopping! Same here. My country made it a week earlier and deals was really awesome. Is it strange that we don't have Thanks giving day, but do have Black Fraiday's sales?

Kay, you decoration sounds amazing, hope to see it on some LO!

Jean, it's great that you get to enjoy more on your online meetings.

Felis, it's SO glad to have you back with us!! I totally understand because I "jump to conclusions" myself and it's not in my DNA. LOL That's just the way I am. I always blame it on the fact that I'm "artistic"LOL You can "claim" that from now - "it's because I'm an artist". LOL

Now, if we have "issues" let's just PM each other.
