Uh oh, I am running late this morning. Not sure why. I was up at the same time. Maybe it's because it's Monday. And cold. Surprise! It's November and it's cold in the morning. ;)

How was everyone's weekend? Yesterday was relaxing. For real!!
I adopted 20 more voters to write letters to for the GA Run-Off Election so a lot of my day was spent working on them. I think I have three or four more to finish and stuff into the envelopes. I also ripped out the entire shawl that I had worked on Fri-Sat. The who darn thing - ripped it out and started from scratch. If I keep doing this, I won't be done before Christmas that's for sure. I think this is the last time I will rip it out. If I am doing something wrong, it's just going to have to stay that way.
I scrapped a page using the photos of Christopher. It's posted at Just Arts since I used some non-O designs. It came out pretty good. I need to keep working on LOs of him if I going to be able to an album for him. I think I have only scrapped a handful of pages since his B-day in May. I am going to have the house to myself for an hour and a half today! The kids are at work and Gary has an endo appt. What will I do??
Probably finish putting the Halloween stuff away, my brain is going toward Christmas mode.
I am heartbroken, BTW. Gary found a big enough box to fit Linguine O'Brien and Braxton inside. *sobs* They are going into the attic. I'll miss them.

Have a fantastic day!!

Good morning. It's beautiful here this morning. Supposed to hit 71* today so windows wide open today and more fresh air.

And, drumroll please, Shaun is 20 today! Oh my! That means I only have one teenager remaining. How in the world did that happen?

Got my ovens cleaned and some Christmas shortbread cookies baked yesterday. Didn't get my refrigerators cleaned so that's on the docket today. Must get that done before bringing in more food that must be refrigerated. I really do need to find a job! LOL

@LSlycord Snuggling with dogs is a nice way to stretch out some extra time in bed on a weekend. I hope that the temps stay low enough for no AC until April too.
Did you get the fridge and oven cleaned? I should think about my oven....
There. I thought about it. Cross that off my list. Heh. It's not too bad. I do have to think about the freezer. Ugh. Maybe that is what I will do this morning.
Hahaha!! I hope we don't scare everyone off

Christopher is -- sit down for this-- 11. In middle school.
Scott is freaking out because when he was born, Scott said - "when he is my age (15) I'll be 30."
30 being *ancient* to a 15 yo. Now that he is creeping up to that in a few years, he is flipping out LOL

@vickyday Show me your yarn!!! I love yarn, I wish I had money to buy really nice yarn. And skills to work with it. *G* But def. show us what you got and your plans for it!!

@Lynn Grieveson I wish I could remember what exactly you wrote in your last newsletter but OMG, I was laughing my butt off. Hope things have settled since then. I would be heartbroken too if my kids left home. Good luck to her and I am sure that you will get to visit her often like Linda does with Sydney.

@bcgal00 You haven't had time to read because you have been so busy being out and about with the dogs and your camera! Which is a really good thing for you. (IMHO, of course!) Enjoy finishing the book you have now. I get a lot of my books through the Libby app and I struggle to try to finish them in the 2 weeks loan period. I started Project Hail Mary but this one I think I will finish in time. It's very engaging.

@Cherylndesigns That would be wonderful news for Steph!!! But so soon??? Yikes. I hope that she gets home when it's best for her, but I know hospitals don't like hanging on to patients for very long.
Let us know when she gets sprung :D
Woo hoo to the guys for fixing up the laptop.

@vickyday its cold here today, can you send me some warmer weather soon? :D

Hugs!!

@faerywings so have you figured out the Christmas schedule for this year? With both of the kids being in serious relationships, do you need to work out that schedule? I know that will happen but I'm sure glad for each year that I don't need to deal with it. I won't like sharing my kids! And I think that I am going to get a puzzle for Syd and I to work on while she is home on Christmas break...actually I might get two.

@Cherylndesigns so glad to hear that Steph should be out so soon. My fingers are crossed that it is today! And how nice is it that Brandon finished fixing your computer. It sounds like you have a good relationship. Love your relationship with Asher. How special that you have this time with him. So what I really want to know...did you have time to catch Yellowstone last night? Rip was looking good!;)

@Lynn Grieveson I can so totally relate to what it feels like when moving a child out of the home. It sounds like she has a nice place to live at least. But Chris is right, Syd and I have found our way to make sure that we have our time together. Currently I'm counting down the days until Sunday when I am going down to Gainesville to do a cooking class for her.

@vickyday I hope that you and Mark aren't really coming down with a cold. The one that Brian and I had recently really knocked us out.

@bcgal00 I love that you are so busy and that it is in such a good way! I haven't done as much reading as I thought I would. Started a new book last night and it managed to catch my interest...until Yellowstone started. LOL

Ok, off to start the refrigerator cleaning! Have a good day all!

HA! As it turns out.......I forgot about Hobby Lobby being closed on Sunday......so I drove there and turned around and came back home and dug into my yarn stash! I am like you, I wish I could afford the really nice yarn! But I've never bought yarn from Hobby Lobby and really wanted to try it! But, the more I thought about it, the more I decided I really needed to make a bucket hat with this pattern before I bought more yarn! I have tons of yarn! But, mostly, it is odds and ends that my m-i-l found at thrift shops and gifted to me when she had to sell her home and move in with her daughter. I can handle little projects like this hat, but not much else! Depending on the project I don't like to mix yarns. So, anyway, it's all good.......for now. I'll post a pic of the hat when I get my "prototype" completed. Hopefully later today!
And, btw, I think our warm temps are gone! It is 40 here at 10:30 this morning! YIKES!

@faerywings you always make me laugh, love reading your little summaries! There was a big gap between mine and the eldest is coming up to 30 too. I also just booked an oven clean with a cleaning company because I decided that was one job I could treat myself and contract out. They asked for a photo of the oven (so they could shame me???). Anyway, snuck in with one of the last pre-Christmas appointments so looking forward to having that crossed off my list.

Good luck with the fridge cleaning @LSlycord ! For some reason I find that job fairly satisfying - though the results never last long ... :-( And happy birthday to Shaun! For some reason 20 is a funny age ... sometimes I think of M as really young (she's JUST 20!) then other times can't believe how grown up she is ;-)

Sorry about the wasted trip @vickyday ...

So far Mark is showing more signs of a cold than I am. He wakes up all plugged up and was blowing his nose throughout the night and has a tickle in his throat. My throat is just a bit scratchy. I had a headache yesterday, but not so far today, thank the Lord!
I soooo need to clean my fridge out, too! I know there are dishes growing things in there!

I agree with you, Lynn. 20 is a weird age! 30 is much better and 40 is great! I have 2 in their 40's. They are completely settled and enjoying life! This next year my 3rd child will turn 40! Then 2 years later the "baby" will be 40! WOW! How did I get so old?!
As far as cleaning the oven goes.......I'm so thankful for my self-cleaning oven! I can lock the door, turn the knob and 2 hours later it is clean! Love that because I hate that job! So glad you can treat yourself!

Good Morning!
Not much on the docket for me today. Probably some laundry for Mark. I need to go to the grocery store for some frozen veggies. They have Green Giant on sale 5 for $5. Mark loves the broccoli spears! Food Lion is doing their annual deal of spending $50 in each of 6 trips before Thanksgiving and you get $20 for your next trip. There are very few things I buy that are not on sale, so I try to take advantage of it and make sure I have my calculator with me when I shop! We were gone the first couple of weeks the deal was happening, so I'm a bit behind! Another problem I have is that my side-by-side fridge doesn't have a lot of freezer room! The deal they have this week is a whole turkey for $0.29/lb. when you spend $35. I got a 13# turkey last week for less than $4! I had to put it in the fridge part because I couldn't get it in my freezer! I checked it today and it is still pretty frozen! We are going to my daughter's for Thanksgiving, so I don't really need a turkey, but Mark loves them and also loves turkey salad, so that is what I will be doing with ours! I may get another one this week, cook it and pull the meat off of the bone and freeze it for meals later.

I saw a bucket hat crochet pattern in my web scanning this weekend and decided I needed to make one, so I have one about half finished with some yarn that has been in my stash for several years. I did a google search on trending stuff for teenagers and that is how I got onto the bucket hat! My 18 year old granddaughter that lives near me is who is in mind for this project. But, if she is like her mother was at this age, she won't like it and I will have wasted my time, LOL! Her younger sister (by almost 7 years) is as big as she is, however, so maybe Abby will like it if Hannah does not!

Well, I'm starting to feel hungry so I think I will head to the grocery store and get something for lunch while I am out. That way I can spend the rest of the afternoon doing laundry and crocheting in between loads.
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I'm going to make it quick b/c Remi is quietly whining at my side and now is sitting so nicely (as she grumbles at me LOL). Ok, decided that I am going to reward the good behavior with some playtime. Back in a few minutes :)

I'm back. Had a short playtime with Remi, did a few stretches and now I'm going to take her upstairs while I get dressed. I think she is going to need playtime at the park again today. She has a lot of energy. Right now she is trying to engage D with throwing a toy, she is dropping it in his lap as he looks at his tablet. He ignored her and now she is sulking on the back of the couch. She just doesn't get that not everyone wants playtime 24/7 LOL.

I took out steak for D's dinner tonight and I'm going to BBQ smokies that I will have extras of, for chopping up and frying with peppers and eggs tomorrow for dinner (D can have potato salad and a meat pie). So yay, two dinners figured out :)

I need to organize office supplies today. I've got them shoved into drawers but no order to any of it. That's my goal for today.

Remi sure is needy this morning. She is lying at my side, softly whining and talking to me. I am going to get coffee, head upstairs to get dressed and if she doesn't settle in the next half hour, I'll head out to the park for a bit. That's life with an aussie...they often need a lot of attention and exercise. I don't mind :) HAGD everyone. I'll be back later.

Good evening my friends. Steph is home! I'm not sure she should have come home, yet, but it is what it is. I'll try to check in tomorrow. At least, I can get on my computer now and I couldn't even open PSE, but now it seems to be working. Love to you all and keep the good thoughts coming. I need them.
