Hey there O-zies! I am still here and so is all of the alcohol. LOL! I haven't touched it. Braxton is still all dressed up for graduation and doesn't want any of the wine to stain his regalia.
I have good news to share!! ( Don't ever let it be said I am 100% Gloom and Doom, I do have good things happening too. I am only 99% G&D Bwuahah!)
Scott and Caitlyn's friend Sam (do you all remember Sam?) --her sister had a baby boy yesterday!!! His name is Logan and he is adorable!!! I am so happy for Sarah (mom), Sam, and her entire family. They needed something happy since Dan died and this is the best!
Scott called on his way to work yesterday to let us know that Sarah was in labor. He was running late to work because he was used to being 5 minutes from his job and is staying at Sam's apt while Gary and Cait and sick. Between that and being on the phone with Sam's family all night with the baby updates, he was completely discombobulated.

Discombobulated is something I know all too well. I am going to write up a very detailed to-do list for this morning so I can spend the rest of the day outside. Yesterday was beautiful and so will today. I wish I knew what to make for dinners -- I don't feel like cooking since everyone has to eat in our own little corner of the house. I already did leftovers, grilled cheese, and chicken nuggets. I have to work on my grocery list too- and I really have no ideas of what to cook on regular days. I think Scott will be able to be back home on Thursday so maybe we can have a family dinner then.

Wishing all of you a lovely day. And of course, I am remembering and honoring all of those who lost their lives in so many wars
xo

@LSlycord Gary was up to taking a shower today, that was a good sign that he felt strong enough to do it. He is still coughing a lot but isn't as bad as it was. Whew!

@tanteva what a sweet and friendly photo you shared here! TY!!!

@BrightEyes Are you going to extend your Do Nothing Weekend into today as well? You should, it is technically a weekend LOL You definitely deserve it! It sounds really nice. The only place I can do that- give myself permission to do that- is at my parents' house in PA. Maybe I can get here- no wait. Dad's surgery is next week, so no driving for him for 6 weeks. Crud. Maybe I should go there by myself *nods*
I add "retired" to the kit/collection folder title
That is smart! I should go through my stash. I have a huge folder of Vicki S's retired kits but she's the only one I kept up with

@bcgal00 It is soooo wonderful to hear about you going out for hikes and then soaking in the hot tub. You seem so content. I hope you are finding peace as well.
How was the visit to your friend's farm?

@taxed4ever What a nice day, spending it out in the yard planting flowers. Your yard/house always looks so pretty!
Costco/Bjs trips always cost a lot but if you have room to store the food, it really helps
Hope you get to sit outside and enjoy the flowers today.

@Cherylndesigns Did you get to see the pic of Braxton I posted in the other thread? I have taken up talking to myself (more than usual) and been getting my "hugs" from snuggling the dogs. It's hard not hugging my family. :(
Ninja Warrior Camp sounds like a *blast*. Asher is going to have so much fun and hopefully, that will give his 'tude a reset (boys!)
Happy birthday to Chuck!!!!!!

@tjscraps So wonderful to see you pop in here again! Fab news that DH is feeling better. Good luck getting through the next couple of months too, don't forget to take care of yourself

@felis- you too, I love seeing you in here!
Who- me? Involved in drama??? That is not possible My life is calm and peaceful always. Always!
*snorts*
Hahaha! You know it is always something going on, but it's fine, I got this! Don't worry about me. xoxoxo

Good morning ladies. Today is going to be a relaxing day...if it kills me. ;) Kids are both working today. Shaun works from 6 am to noon and Syd from 1 to 7:30. However, she got called to ask if she could come early and help. So she went in at about 9:00. They both get the nicest compliments from their respective managers. Syd's manager filled in over at Shaun's place a couple of weeks ago. He came back to work and told Syd that if he could get both her and Shaun working together, two people would always be enough instead of four because they both work hard and get it done. I told them that they couldn't imagine how proud that makes me.

We did have a call wanting to show the house at noon today and I said that's enough. I am tired of the nonsense...30+ showings in 2 weeks and 3 people have seen it a second time. No one has had any negative feedback. Sometimes, things aren't meant to be. I love our home here...so I think we are pulling it off of the market. As much as I would love to walk to the ocean every day (or maybe multiple times a day), I don't see it coming together this time. I almost wish people were saying our home was overpriced...that's something we could correct. But that isn't happening.

Keep your fingers crossed and good thoughts coming for Shaun...we think that the referral to Mayo will come through this week. Poor kid...this is just ridiculous.

In the meantime, I've spent some good time scrapping and am actually going to be able to wrap up May on time and kick off June with my Cheery-O stuff. That's a good feeling.

@faerywings so glad that Gary felt like getting up and showering this morning. That is a very good sign! Later my lOvelies!

Well, the smoke haze is back this morning... can barely see the mountain and there is gold metallic look to the sky! UGH!!! Means the house must stay closed up today. Going to be another hot day (90*+) with lots of wind AGAIN! No hot air balloons in the sky due to that. So far by keeping the blinds closed so the heat from the sun doesn't get into the house and using the ceiling fan, I haven't had to turned the A/C on. I did have to go out and set the patio chairs back in place around the table... the wind had shoved a couple of them around along with moving the patio swing around a bit. It was gusting up to 55 mph most of yesterday. So glad that it was a much calmer day when the roofers were doing the repair job.

Yes, I am going to take another 'Do Nothing' day... like I did over the weekend. Feeling a lot more rested so it is paying off. I did end up grilling a couple of steaks in the George Forman electric grill, nuking some diced potatoes and making dressing for coleslaw for supper last night. Will have the left-overs for supper tonight. :) Tomorrow will be busy as I need to go to the Post Office, drop off a library book, and stop at the grocery store for fresh fruit/veggies and creamer. Then Wednesday will kick off the new month (glad I have the challenge already to go) and back to scrapping duties and Thursday will be getting a bid on the lawn clean-up.

Need to call DD#3 today to see how she is doing.

Linda, I can tell you are tired and frustrated with all the house showings and no offers. <<< hugs >>>

Chris, so glad you had some good news over the weekend. A new little one is cause for a celebration! I am sure Scott will be glad to get back home toward the end of the week. Glad Gary is doing better - but sorry that cough is hanging on. Hope Cait is better, too.

Coffee cup needs a refill. CYL

@BrightEyes yes I'm frustrated. But we have two people from out of state coming to look today now. Our realtor had a conversation with the buyer's realtor and told them about the house and asked if they were really interested. Both want to re-locate here from the midwest (one from Minnesota and one from Ohio) so they are actually serious buyers so I caved and said ok.

I love your challenge for June and I actually did a layout this morning. I'm so excited that I am ahead of the game for once. Enjoy your 'Do Nothing' Day. Can't believe you are surviving without your AC...good for you!

Morning ladies! It is another rainy day. I need to get to the Bank today and get some cash then off to Hope Farm to pick up some eggs. Other than that it will be a quiet and hopefully productive day! Yesterday I got all my housework done and the laundry too. So I should have plenty of time to get caught up here at the O with month end things. Had a face time with Heather and the boys this morning. The school had a water main break and so no school for the boys. She just can't catch a break!! Oh well it is very warm there and the boys were in the pool having lots of fun! Everyone seems to be feeling much better! Mason still has a bit of a cough, but his appetite is back and Hunter is fully recovered too. Heather says she feels good, just a bit of a stuffy nose. So I guess it will be a pool day for them.

@faerywings - How lovely to have a new baby to swoon over!! Yes it is cause for a celebration and such wonderful good news for Sam's family!! Glad to hear that your Gary is feeling better too! How is Caitlyn feeling?? Hope she is on the mend also! No sitting outside and enjoying the flowers today, its raining again :(. Hoping for nicer weather for our hike on Wednesday, I really need to get out and get some exercise! Sorry that Scott is feeling discombobulated!! I know that feeling all too well LOL. Hope you get your list completed today and that you get to cross off at least a few things from it! Stay safe and healthy my friend!

@LSlycord - Linda I can't say as I blame you for being done with the showing of the house! That is a lot of showing for the short amount of time you have had it on the market! Even more frustrating when you don't know why its not selling! I am keeping my fingers crossed for Shaun to hear the news about the referral! You must be so proud of your kids, sounds like they have excellent work ethic! So hard to find in young people these days! You and your hubby have done an amazing job of raising both your kids! WTG!! I am very far behind in my CheeryO duties and hope to do some major catch up today too!

@BrightEyes - Ugh on the smoke returning to your area! Sure wish that you could get a break from all that smoke and get some much needed rain! I will be happy to send ours to you! Enjoy your day of rest and relaxation today, you deserve it for sure! Your dinner that you made for yourself sounds delicious!! Nice to have the leftovers! I will certainly have to check out your challenge for June!

Waving hi to everyone else, I need to get going and get busy with my day! Have a lovely memorial day to those of you in the States!

Good morning ladies. I had a fabulous visit with friends that moved to the BC interior about 5 yrs ago. They are halfway between here and Vernon. Because of the great highway system out here, it only took us about 35 minutes to get there. We saw the scorched dead trees from the fires last year that reached the top of their property so they lost a few trees but luckily the wind shifted and moved away from their home. Miles of dead burned trees is so disheartening to see. Hopefully it never gets that close to them again. They have a few acres and lots of animals. Jen and I had fun hanging out with the miniature horses and a mini mule. The mule was a bit skittish so would take carrots from us but didn't want cuddles but the horses sure did. They were all over us LOL. What a fantastic experience. They have dogs, cats, fish, llama, horses, mule, large birds and a tortoise. I'm going to bring my big camera with me soon and do some animal portraits for them. They have a house full of amazing photos but want some new ones. Jen got along well with our friends, felt very comfortable with them and will enjoy hanging out with them. I think she will want to visit often.

Today I'm going to work on some scrap stuff, household chores, get groceries, work on selecting photos for printing and then binge some shows later tonight, not sure if it'll be Stranger Things or not.

@faerywings Glad G continues to improve.

@taxed4ever I bet the grands were happy to be home, playing in the pool.

@LSlycord Hope something comes of the two showings you decided to do. I feel like everything happens as it should, so if it sells, great and if not, maybe a better time will present itself and then you'll find a great home to move to. Sending good vibes, fingers crossed.

@BrightEyes Enjoy another quiet day.

I'm getting coffee, getting dressed and will get on with my day now.

I know I haven't been here for awhile. Life has just been a bit hectic. It finally slowed down this weekend but it's fixin' to heat up again. We start all the year end activity to get the books closed then end of June. It's exhausting to close the books for the month, do the year end adjustments, close for the year, then do post-closing and do the final close. 3 months' worth of work in 6 weeks. I think this will be my last.

My father has asked me to come live at his house when I retire. He has had a long-time friend staying with him these past 5 years since Mom passed. (When I say Mom that means my dearly loved step-mother. Momma is my mother.) Daddy had changed his will to leave the house and contents to Mark for staying there to help him, then to care for him when he could no longer do as much for himself. But Mark hasn't been doing that here of late and Daddy thinks he's going to leave. He's changed his will back for the house to be part of his general estate. I think Mark has been stealing from him. I hope not but...

So it's a perfect match for me to retire there so I can help him. I will have very few expenses and can save accordingly. The biggest blessing of that? Having Daddy all to myself for awhile. I want to sit down with a recorder and record all his wonderful stories then scrap them! We're both excited. I hope to make that happen in the next 6 months or so if I can get the house finished and get it sold. I think my youngest will move that way. The area is perfect for his field - Cyber Security and Forensics - and he'll be on his own but close to us if we need him. He'll work remotely so that's a plus too. I don't know if Justin will go with me or not. He has gotten himself into a relationship so we shall see. I'm beginning to think it's not a good one and her parents are taking advantage. I hope he recognizes that soon.

@faerywings Chris, how about chicken salad made with boiled eggs, canned chicken, grapes and/or apples and pecans or sliced almonds, minced sweet onion. Add some mayo, sweet pickle relish, a little mustard, a little horseradish sauce and a good sprinkling of curry powder and it's heavenly. No cooking except for the eggs.

Afternoon Lovelies.

Chris @faerywings I'm STILL laughing - I just saw Captain Braxton No Beard!!! HAHAHAHAHA I'm so glad I didn't have a mouthful of water that's all I can say. You CRAY CRAY Girl!! I have to send that to Ava!! Thanks for the belly laugh!!

I'll tell Chuck that you said happy birthday. The gang are all coming over for hot dogs and cake later. I'm glad Gary felt like showering. That's a step in the right direction. Congratulations to ALL about the new baby!!! Nothing like a new baby to pull everybody up by the bootstraps. Even Captain No Beard would like to pull up his bootstraps. Seriously, that's awesome news.

Yes, we were pretty excited about that day camp and even more excited that Asher actually wanted to go. I told him that if he gave me 'tude I'd make him go down to the pond with Uncle Roger and skim and algae off or make him pull weeds. I told him we had lots of things to do "if he got bored" - we call it "ranch life" - don't think he was too amused. When I told his dad that, he said "DO IT!" LOL

Hugs to all!

Awwww, Susan - good to see you here - come in when you can. Sounds like things are working out for you and your dad. I too hope Mark hasn't been stealing from him. Keep in tough and I'm thinking of your dad especially since I saw your wonderful post in the "memories thread". Sending you both hugs.
