In case you all haven't heard, Dirt Therapy is the BEST therapy for me. I was in heaven all weekend. Sun, sweat, dirt, plants, and Tif the Toad. He is just so darn cute hanging out in my planter. I plan on getting back out there this afternoon but first I have to scrub down my kitchen. It is that time of year when we get the ant explosion. Ant traps help a tiny bit but are not good enough this year. Gary put diatomaceous earth down by the doorways and then sprinkled some under the fridge and dishwasher. I woke up to an army of ants, a lot of them dead in the dust, some still alive -- which meant I was chasing them around the kitchen with a paper towel trying to smash them. I am guessing the diatomaceous earth made them look for water? So many of them. Most bugs get put outside, this many ants- nope. Die, ants die. #devil

Scott's b-day dinner was delish but I didn't have any brownies that I made, I was too full from the spinach pizza. That is one of my favorites.
Sheesh, I started to think about everything I need to do today, I am not sure if I will have time to get outside. Caitlyn and I are going to work on the centerpieces today, plus I need to get my food order ready, and the kitchen is going to be a beast of a chore.

It's going to be a coffee kind of day!

Oh, what's Braxton's degree? In osteopathic medicine?
@tanteva #clap:D
Cracked me up!!
So sorry to hear about the meds mix-up. It has to be so frustrating to know what is going to happen to your brain and not be able to do anything about it. Are you back on track today?
OMG- I loooooove that sweater- everything about it. Good luck and have fun making it! That is really smart to make a small size first, get any mistakes out of the way first. What color do you think you will use?

@BrightEyes Oh no! Back and legs are aching? Any better today?
I hope that you listened to me and Cheryl telling you to not overdo it.

I hope that the second lawn company calls back today.

@bcgal00 Do you have AC in this house? It is going to be interesting adjusting to the different type of heat this summer. Good thoughts to Jen!
Yes, that was me, covered in dirt and with a big grin! Kids were laughing at me as they heard me talking to Tif.

@Cherylndesigns Yes! I knew you would understand why my car misbehaved and brought me into the garden center.
I tried to behave and not buy too many plants because I know that over the next few years I can split all of the perennials as they grow. I think I started out with 3 astilbe plants maybe 10 years ago and now I have them all over. Same with the balloon flowers. I was really sad about the lavender dying over the winter, it was huge- well over 2 feet across, and now I have this little baby plant.
Lemon balm-- I think that I have that by my mint but I swear, I don't remember buying it last year. I would imagine it would be good in a salve or infused in oil, probably good in a tea too.
hehe- knew you would laugh at Braxton :D I had him dressed up so Cait would see him when she got home that night.

TTYS!! Hugs!

I will make it red. Had a similar sweater in my teens, though knitted. I loved that one and I think this will be a great substitute. But I decided, I must do some more decluttering of my UFOs before I'm allowed to start this new one.

I did listen, Chris. Ended up having a PJ day yesterday. Took some OTC pain meds and used the chair massager unit to ease the sore and tight muscles. Found a 3 book romantic series to read... and napped a couple of times #sleeping and relaxed and rested all day. Feeling better but think I will take it easy again today. I am up and dressed already just in case the 2nd yard guy calls/comes by.

Good morning ladies. I am going to putter around the house, go visit a friend later for coffee and pick up a frame I bought on marketplace. I want to make low carb choc chip cookies later this afternoon. I told Jen I would save some for her when she gets back late tomorrow night. We facetimed last night and she hates being back in the lower mainland, can't wait to get back here. She will finish up her appointments tomorrow and as soon as they get the summer tires on the car then she will head back.

I think sloppy joes for dinner. I have low carb bread that I love so will use that instead of buns (which D will have). Remi must be hungry, she is batting the food bowl and sighing. Time to feed the dogs :)

Just popping in to say 'hi' :)

After years of avoiding it, Covid has come to our place  DH is down, and Daughter-Two probably has it too though she's fine now after a couple of days of feeling off (negative test but I am suspecting user error/false negative). I remain fine but how long while locked up in a tiny apartment with both of them is the question ....

On a brighter note, my house sale is maybe looking more positive. Have accepted an offer, but it is dependent on the person selling THEIR house so it's all going to drag on for weeks or months longer

(actual footage of me this morning :p)

Hope everyone had a good (or better) day x

Good afternoon Lovelies.

It's raining and yucky today - I've started hearing thunder. Alyssa and I were going to go out and run around today but we put it off until tomorrow. I don't like thunder, because it means there's lightening. We were going to Walmart for one thing and you always have to walk far to get inside.

Adrienne and Ava will be home tomorrow night. It's been quiet without them and Roger's in Florida. Just Chuck, me, Braden and Alyssa holding down the fort.

Chris, @faerywings your spinach pizza sounds amazing and I laughed at your Gif! That's a good one. Glad you had a good bd dinner. I just looked up Lemon Balm and it's in the mint family, although it doesn't smell like my mint. Here's what I found: "Lemon balm has traditionally been used to improve mood and cognitive function" and you can make tea with it. There's a lot more, but this is the gist of it.

Kay @BrightEyes take it easy today (just like Chris and I would) BWAHAHA. "Nice to meet you, Kettle".

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson sorry to hear about the Covid hitting your home. I thought NZ had been under serious lockdown - did I dream that? Good news about your possible house sale and that's always a "chain" when there are other houses to be sold.

Well, since I'm not going out today, I think I'll get some chores done. I have laundry that needs to be put away.

XOXO

Yes, @Cherylndesigns, you remember right :) We went into a strict lockdown in early 2020 in the hope of 'slowing the spread' so our hospitals didn't get overwhelmed but to most people's surprise, it quickly became clear we could actually stamp out Covid altogether if everyone stuck to it. So we did, and then we had a long stretch without Covid - which was kind of weird watching the rest of the world while we carried on with our concerts and festivals and normal life etc. But as it became so widespread elsewhere it snuck in across the border so in the biggest city, Auckland, they later had another long lockdown and once Omicron arrived and spread, it was clear there was no point keeping the border closed and attempting to stamp it out again any longer. So now it is here and has been spreading fast, although fortunately we have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world plus of course a somewhat less severe variant than you guys dealt with back in 2020/21. Still a worry though, especially as (like most of us) I have family members who are at risk even with a less severe variant :-(
