helllOOOO O-zies!

I am glad that I made my plans to get out in the yard early yesterday because it rained early. That was a bummer. The forecast said around 3 pm and it started at 12.30. I was able to get the daffodils planted and on the bright side, I didn't have to water anything. ;)
I decided to finally do Ona's challenge and I am so happy with the way it came out. It was one of those (rare) times that everything just flowed and fit perfectly. That is, everything flowed perfectly *after* found the drivers for the Wacom and found the brushes I needed and all that. I can't believe I am finding things that need to be set up still.

Today's weather is going to be like yesterday's- sunny with a chance of showers in the afternoon so I want to finish the gardening that I had planned on doing yesterday. I also have to do my food order and I *should* clean the house a bit.
Not much else happening here. have a fab day!!

@tanteva Oh no, I am so sorry to hear the news about your friend. I have no words other than I am sending love to you and to her DS :(

@Kythe That is wonderful that you have hydrangeas on your patio- I don't think I have seen them in pots, how big do they get? I wonder if it is a different kind. My neighbors are gi-normous.
Heh-- my MIL is constantly trying to pawn off her stuff to us. They were thinking that they would scale down and then realized that it was impossible to do that. Now she is cleaning things a bit but wants to give us it all. I don't have room for other people's junk- Gary is a hoarder and keeps *everything* b/c he "might need it someday. ARGH!!!! Whoops, that got heated quickly. LOL!

@Cherylndesigns Are you doing any better today? I am so happy that your pots and plants are looking good. I am LMBO about the palettes. They are one of my favorite things to Pin for upcycling. I wish I had access like you do :D
I saw a picture of using a palette for cucumbers and I bet it would work great for pole beans. I grew pole beans last year but went back to cukes this year, My family likes pickles so I made lots of them.
Happy to hear that Sam and Daisy are getting close enough to photograph together.

@nancyr Wow you had a busy few days bit seems like you spent a lot of time with the family and that makes it a good time. It sounds like everyone is blending in so well together. How exciting to see your DIL pick out her wedding dress! Are the kids going to be flower girl/ring bearer? Talk about some amazing family photos.
That is such a bummer about the oven. Hope you and DH are able to get one soon.

@scrap-genie It has been nicer this past week than I expected so it is great that you and DH have been doing a lot of birding.
But I am not happy how you slipped in that your birthday was Thursday...

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!
xoxo

@felis Hi there! Hope you are having fun crocheting!

@tanteva That is so true and what is so hard to accept- that if you can't see that you are ill, it becomes impossible to get better. It is such a loss and is hard for the people left behind to make sense of it all. It sounds like you are in a good place and are able to step back and assess yourself, but if this sends you back a bit, the same goes for you, call for help- I am *always* here for anyone who needs to talk/vent.

BIG HUGS to all of you.

I'm okay today. I had a week to prepare for the truth - I kinda knew it would be true as soon as I heard the first rumour. I'm trying to focus on all the good she did, not how it ended. She was an amazing friend, and she made my life so much richer. I'm a firm believer in, that the more who leaves us, the more we are obliged to live the rest of our own life better, brighter and happier.

I've realized there's something messed up with my backups. There must be stuff that I haven't backed up on my external drives, cuz I wanted to redo this layout today and I don't have it on either EHD, nor do I have the kit, template and elements I used.

I wanted to do a version of this, adding the poem "Do not stand by my grave, and weep". I hope it's all there on the HD in my old computer upstairs. Cannot check right now, cuz hubby has borrowed one of the cords, and I need him to put it in again. He's at work for a couple of hours more. I might have lots of layouts and Oscraps kits on that one. Hope so!

Monday = weighing day. Gained 100 grams this week (1 lb = 453 g) - no big deal. It's a win really, since I ate 2 ½ bags of snacks + 6 chocolate bars last week. LOL I'm beginning to think I'm a bit too laid back about weight loss this time. :D

Have gotten some job scheduled for the summer period. Not many days, like 10 or something, during the whole summer. 6 hrs. Not much, but at least we'll get some extra money. It's really easy work. No real responsibilities, just be there at the reception, help people find and borrow books. Just being nice ... I'm acing it. LOL

and this is what Discord had to say to you all:

good morning - yesterday was a rest day. I watched hockey and backed up photos. Good to get space back on my laptop. Well my DH finished up taxes and not too bad. Today our kitty has to see the vet as a nail got stuck. Luckily my son will do this. Not much else going on. But it is a pretty day.

@faerywings Chris have fun in the garden. We did not have any rain at all. I think we need rain. Good luck with the food order. Chris I feel like your MIL in that I want to pawn stuff off on my kids. LOL

@Kythe Kythe I understand the need to downsize.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl hope your back is better.

@scrap-genie Jean seems you too have been busy. Glad you are seeing so many birds. One son has a cat and it was sitting at the door and a mockingbird kept yelling at the cat. My son sent me the video and it was too cute. He was surprised.

Waving to all.
Have a great day!

@tanteva the same goes for you, call for help- I am *always* here for anyone who needs to talk/vent.
@tanteva same for me Eva!!! I'm too busy for daily chat, but always on line to share tips that are helped to me, book , podcasts, yoga against stress and anxiety, just tells what you need (if you prefer on PM) and I'll be there for you.
Last time Chris notice that I'm too bad and send me on therapist ( @faerywings always grateful honey), I wasn't able to go because of the lockdowns, but find online therapist. Many countries have this option now, it's online, but in real time, personalized and totally privacy. Check this for your country if you feels need, PLEASE!
It's a big punch and it's normally to shake you!

@scrap-genie, we missed your birthday wishes, ouch!!! Happy belated birthday darling! So sorry that missed it! Wasn't your wedding anniversary near to it, or it was to someone else's birthday? OMG, I'm horrible with dates. o_O

Edit: It's close to the mother's day not anniversary, as we not celebrate it here, I'm remembered it's a special date, but not what!!!

Thanks everyone - I am fine, really. I have had help with therapy (CBT) to handle my anxiety and I have meds if I need them. But what has helped me immensly is mindful meditations. Helped me see everything in an all other way.

I have an app called Calm - it's a bit expensive for an subscription, but it's worth every cent. Among other things there's a Daily Calm, i. e. a short (10 min) meditation, with a new theme every day. I've done it for 528 days now, and it's helped me to change perspective in so many ways. I've learned to stop myself from spinning off in emotions.

This is why I really KNOW you can get better - Life is ALWAYS worth living.

“Mindfulness gives you time. Time gives you choices. Choices, skillfully made, lead to freedom. You don’t have to be swept away by your feeling. You can respond with wisdom and kindness rather than habit and reactivity.”

Felis @felis thanks for the birthday wishes. I think you are correctly remembering our anniversary which is exactly one month before my birthday.

This morning was DH's H&S (Eva, that's Hum & Strum, a group from the senior center who play guitar, ukulele, etc. and sing. They've done a modified version on Zoom while the center is closed.) while I did bills. When we went outside to go to the grocery, two or more Tennessee warblers were singing near the house. Last evening we heard one. We are going to have to go birding now as it seems the warbler migration has finally picked up steam.

Eva @tanteva thank you for the posts on mindfulness. I really appreciate what you're sharing.

Waving to all while we get outside!! :D

Good afternoon all.

Happy birthday @scrap-genie !! Hope it is/was a wonderful day!

My back is still "tight" but better by this time today. It wasn't so good when I first got up. Thanks for asking, Nancy @nancyr

Eva @tanteva I'm so sorry about your friend. I DO love that poem - it's one of my favorites for grief. I so agree with it. Sending you hugs and what a special lovely tribute layout.

I've been busy today - I'm involved in a "layout exchange" on another board - we're sending our "partners" pictures of ours to scrap. It's going to be a lot of fun to see what everybody does. Of course, with my snails-pace upload speed, it has taken me HOURS to send my partner a selection of pictures. She requested Oklahoma "landscape pictures".

I think I told you that Ava took pictures of a wedding. I'm going to edit them for her, so the bride has narrowed down (from well over 400 pictures) to the ones she really wants. The downloading process has begun so I can edit them. Once again, my "lovely" slow connection makes everything take 25 times longer than it should.

Chris @faerywings I'm still moving slower than usual, but at this point in the day, I'm MUCH better!! We got the whole front half of the garden done - even mulched. Ava showed up in time to do some of the "heavy lifting". Bless her heart! She even took her truck to Lowe's and picked up all the mulch. She picks those big bags up like they're packages of frozen peas. BWAHAHA Yes, doesn't it slay you that I can go get those palettes? I spied one yesterday that I want, too. The one I have my pots on looks SO amazingly good! Chuck nor Adrienne saw "my vision" (Ava did, of course). After I got it all done, they both admitted that it looked great! (Ava said it was "precious".) It was SO worth all of the work and the back/butt aches! I have admired both front and back so many times today.

I'll try to add pictures tomorrow.

Hugs to all and extra hugs to anybody who needs it. XOXO

I'm about to go upstairs and see if I can start my old computer and see if I can retrieve some of the missing kits and layouts. Cross your fingers - and everything else you can cross - that it's there. And that the old puter starts at all!
