9 More Day Until Spring!

I started to wonder-- what if I messed up my counting? It will be very silly of me if I did and all of my counting down has been wrong. But I know if I did, you will still love me anyways Hehehe

I love DST -- love it!! I just wish it didn't mess my body clock up so much, thank goodness that only lasts a day or so for me. And thank goodness I don't have little ones who don't understand. Don't miss that at all. For those of you who have little ones, how are you coping?

I am so done with snow and cold (I know, I have been done but I am really really really done now). I am bored out of my mind, I don't like sitting at my desk doing nothing. I have been having a hard time again trying to scrap. I did two pages last week for Christopher and now it's like there is absolutely nothing left. pfft

Sat night, the kids went to the HS play with Sam and her family. The HS had a small memorial for her brother and created a scholarship in his name as well as naming the Audio Booth in the Auditorium after him. Caitlyn said she couldn't stop crying. It sounded like the family knew about the memorial/scholarship but had no idea they were naming the booth after him. It has to be a comfort that he won't be forgotten for generations to come.

I have a lot of small things on my to-do list and will be plugging along on that. I have the info for Cait's taxes so that is going to be the most important thing to do. Plus get ready for in-person food shopping tomorrow.

To end on a really promising note- I know what I am making for dinner tonight. That is always a good thing!!!
(In case you were wondering- broccoli and cavatelli)

xoxoxo

@BrightEyes I feel bad for you that you get hit hard by the time changes. I wish it would stay DST year-round, the back and forth is silly.
I wish I had your scrap energy/mojo. Even with a "slow" month, you knock out page after gorgeous page. How many pages have you done so far?
That is so sweet of your church to do that for you- it is the little gestures that mean the most. I think that is my mom's biggest hurdle- she is so isolated socially. She used to do stuff with Arlene- but--- *angry pfft*

@bcgal00 *snorts* We don't; have a garage but that is exactly how I feel about the attic and basement. It would alllllllllll go in the trash. I have so many big ideas about organizing my scrap stash better. then I never seem to get it underway.

@Cherylndesigns Research has shown that elderly people who receive Meals in Wheels are better not just nutritionally but cognitively and emotionally. Human connection is such a vital part of well,- being human. It makes me really happy when I see that too esp in times like now when it feels like everyone is angry/scared/anxious.
I was going to brag to you all that I slept until 7am yesterday which was ah-MAY-zing until I realized that my body still thought it was 6 am. haha!
Tell Ava I hope she feels better, I bet CiCi is missing her chattering about everything

@scrap-genie Happy Pi to you too!
I heard so many birds outside this morning, it was a nice sound (mostly pew pews!) and gave me hope.

@LSlycord Yay, you survived the weekend!! Oh, drat. I see that you didn't make it to Gainsville, but thank goodness you did. Billy Joel is 73?? He is one of Christopher's favorite musicians and got to see him live a couple of years ago. I bet he puts on a great show. The Stranger was one of my first cassette tapes LOL

Well, guess 5 AM is my 'new normal'!!! Awake and not able to go back to sleep. At least it is slowly warming up here... above freezing last night and this morning. May actually get up to 70* this week before another cold front comes in. Plan on running those errands I had put off last week since it will be in the 60's today.

@faerywings Yes, I have been busy scrapping... made 28 LOs so far this month - although not all of them have published (waiting on release dates). I have about 12 more to do before the end of the month. And that is fitting them with DD#3 here starting on Thursday and her surgery next week. So glad that I have the forums to do some 'social interacting' as that really helps keep the spirits up. So sorry your Mom doesn't have much in the way of that. I swear it helps keep me feeling 'young at heart'. What a wonderful tribute to Sam's brother.

Yes, the birds are back again in our area. Saw a huge flock of them circling in the sky when I was at the library last week. And am hearing and seeing the doves and other birds. No humming birds yet but it won't be long before they are nesting near by. I noticed that there are a few buds on the plum tree in the back yard. So there is evidence that spring is coming.

@scrap-genie I am with you... don't care what the 'rules are', I am masking whenever I am out in public. And I am still not comfortable eating out yet. Told DD#1 that I haven't been to the movies but will probably go once they release Top Gun II.

@LSlycord I saw the images of the tornado in FL... so sad about that damage. Glad you had changed your minds about the trip to Gainesville. But also glad you did get to see Billy Joel. Just sorry it was outdoors and so cold.

Off to grab another cup of coffee then get my shower. CYL

Happy Monday Morning! It is another very rainy day! Yesterday was a day of cleaning the house, doing laundry etc. I got a call from a friend that I worked with at Home Hardware a few years back. He wanted to know if I still used a pen tablet to do things on Photoshop? I said yes I use mine all the time. Well he wanted to know if I would like to have the one that he bought a few years ago, never been used still in the box. I said sure, why not? So I met him outside of Home Hardware and was surprised to see that it was a Wacom Intuit 5, it had all the bells and whistles and three times the size of the one that I have been using for the last few years. I couldn't believe he would be giving it away! He said it was just sitting there and thought of me when he was cleaning out his closet, so yay!! Lucky me!! Ok, @Vicki Robinson I need that tutorial on how to set the darn thing up LOL. I know that there are many videos out there on how to do it, I just need to sit down and learn!! Guess I will start doing that sometime this morning. The boys will most likely keep me busy talking with them as they are on spring break. Most likely won't hear from Isaac and Sadie as their other Grandma is there visiting and keeping them busy! Not much else happening here, so I hope to get something done in the way of scrapping with my new tablet and see if I can figure out some of the many features of this great gift I got! My husband said I should have bought a lottery ticket, with my good fortune of getting all the goodies from @bcgal00 and now this gift from my work friend. :). Tomorrow I hope to make it to the pool and then Wednesday our hike is very close by so I will be going on that.

@faerywings - Wow only 9 more days until spring?? Sure hope it starts to feel more like spring for you soon! Our Son txt us and said he had to get the snowblower out again, they got a big dump of snow the other day! Ugh!! What a nice tribute the HS did for Sam and the family!! How wonderful that he will always be remembered!! Hope you get all the little things done and off of your to do list today! I went in person shopping on Saturday, but wore my mask, most people did not including most of the employees! I think it will awhile before I am comfortable not wearing it! Hope your shopping experience is a good one! Yes I need to get my scrapping mojo back too, still have to post my last layout in the on-line galleries, forgot to do that the other day.

@BrightEyes - I did not sleep well at all last night, stayed up until 11:30 just so that I would not have a bad sleep with the time change, but nope that did not work! However on Sunday morning I woke up after sleeping right through the night at 8:15 am that never happens!! Then I realized that we had not changed the clocks yet and it was actually 9:15 am YIKES. I slept the morning away LOL. Holy cow 28 layouts this month already!!! You put me to shame!! WTG you!!

@scrap-genie - Happy Pi day to you! Love that video!!

Ok Heather is calling I gotta run! Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning lovelies.

Chris @faerywings here's an interesting story about Meals on Wheels. My grandma (Lola) was one of the "pioneers" of that - I remember going with her, when I was a kid. She delivered meals to what they used to call "shut ins". It was very depressing (to me, as a kid) but she loved doing it and they loved having her there. She always visited for a bit. Our church did lots of outreach to the shut-ins. Funny how things come full circle. I'm so glad that you know "what's for dinner".

Trudy @taxed4ever how amazing that you got that Wacom pen! It's really funny, because I was thinking that I'd get my iPad and my pen and try (again) to learn Procreate. I bought Procreate a while ago, but just dabbled with it. It was be perfect for traveling - like I travel so much. BWAHAHA But, that's what I originally had in mind.

It's 66 here but feels much colder - the wind is really whipping.

Kay @BrightEyes you're on fire, girl - 28 layouts so far??? WOW!

Gotta go - I may not be around much until later - got a busy day today - and Adrienne and I are going to the seamstress - finally. I have 3 pairs of jeans that are too long and I'm going to get them hemmed. WooHoo - I can't wait to add them to my wardrobe.

CYL have a good Monday.

@BrightEyes 4am has become the new normal at our place thanks to DH's early morning work on his newsletter. A late morning is after 5.30. It is weird how you adjust though, and now I feel ick if I sleep much later.

Yay on the scrapping (28 layouts - woot!) and like you and @scrap-genie I'll be masking after it's no longer a requirement here too. In fact, I was joking with my daughter after I had a meeting that it is great because you only have to worry about your eyes and not what your mouth is doing/if your lipstick is smeared/if you have food caught in your teeth ;)

@LSlycord Bill Joel sounds like a lot of fun

@taxed4ever How nice of your old friend! Good luck setting it up. I was gifted a scanner/printer by someone in our apartment complex a few weeks back - I need to tackle setting that up
