Good morning and happy Monday!

I had a really good day yesterday. I felt like I got a lot done outside. I am still not up to what I used to be able to do but when I start to see a difference in how the yard actually looks- that makes me feel happy.
I cleaned out dead leaves from the little side garden (would have been much easier to do a month ago before the plants got too big, but oh well, it is done now). I got my gardening clothes, and work boots "Permethrined"-- chemically treated against ticks, my beach chair and cooler re-washed. Gary got the climbing lines up for the morning glories. All of that makes me so happy.:)

I am not sure what I am up to today- maybe I can get a bit more yard work done.

Gotta head out now- Jaida is whining....

Back later!!

Hi

Wish you all a nice start in the week
Got an unbelievable message in another CT forum from a german scrapper who passed away. I was so shocked. I knew her since I started scrapbooking in 2008 . Although I haven´t had much contact to her, but I knew her and her pages , her children and we joined some CT. She had my age.

Our renovation is done, like meLOL. We always think it is not much work only one wall , but than.....it was a mess. I had so much papers from the past, before internet, when we read books and wrote all with the hand LOL. it looks good, friendly but the wallpaper has so much folds (what is typically us). We never made something without faults.

Today my plan was to cut the hedges. All our neigbours did it, so I feel forced to do . But it´s raining.:playball:

good morning - is is cloudy but it looks like it will be nice later and then thunderstorms. But should find time for a good walk. Yesterday was really awesome. Ashley, my son's girlfriend, came for a visit. She was on a weekend trip to see Taylor Swift in concert. She is so nice. My DH went above and beyond and made the best dinner, shrimp and scallops with zucchini and garlic, Mexican green beans and rice. He made such a mess but he cleaned up too. The kids went back for seconds so that was great. Poor cat though hid upstairs and had to be coaxed down this morning. She had to leave so that she could get back for work today. She is really nice. One of the best parts of her visits is that my son cleans and picks up his stuff. Love it to wake to a clean house. It is fun so sit around the table and just tell good stories. Got in a good walk.

Chris that is such good news on how well you did yesterday and how well you feel today! It is so exciting to hear.

Anika so glad the project went to well and more importantly that you like the results!

Have a great day all!

I'm up way too early again, but that means getting to the pool as soon as it opens.

Chris, your post sounded so sweet and upbeat. Glad you had such a good day and that the feelings are lasting awhile.

Astrid, so sorry for the loss of your cyber friend. It is strange when that happens. There have been two or three losses in my DigiWorld. I told Dave who to contact if I die. Glad you finished your wall and hope your get your hedge trimmed.

Nancy, your shrimp/scallop dinner sound wonderful. YES! I remember how my kids were all of a sudden clutter conscious when they had a girlfriend/boyfriend coming for a visit! LOL

DH is golfing today. It's going to be another scorcher, I'm told...reached near 90* yesterday. Glad for an air conditioned house and afternoon shade on the patio.

Let's all try to enjoy Monday! So many people hate Mondays and wish them away. That's 1/7th of our lives!

Oh how nice to see you in here already! I was hoping that I could sneak back in here before anyone noticed. ;)

Yup, Jaida is truly in adolescent Brat Mode. She had jumped the baby gate three time, once yesterday and twice today. We started using the shake cans and she does not like them at all. Well, good. I have no patience for bratty teens, human or otherwise. Gary has been spoiling her too so I might need to toss a shake can at him as well! :brick:
He loves it when she is all cuddly which was wonderful when she when she was have her size. But she is bigger and way stronger now and only going to be more so. It is really cute to see tough looking hubby be so sweet to her, though...

No yard work for me, it wasn't supposed to rain until tonight as of the report when I went to bed, but it has been raining pretty hard since 8am. I am working on my shopping list and then I want to scrap.

From Sunday:

Nancy- You had so many good sporting events to watch over the weekend, Must have been great! Yes, yesterday's weather was fab!!

Today:

Astrid- how sad to hear that someone so close in age has passed. :(
That is a basic truth about renovations- the more you get into it, the more of a mess it is! Hope the weather clears so you can trim the hedges, at least whenever you feel like it.

Nancy- that dinner of your DH's sounds so yummy! It must be nice for everyone to get along with Ashley. Except for your cat.

Sharon- send some sun and heat my way, please. It is cold (60*) and raining. It is supposed to get up to 80* but I am not sure how that is supposed to happen.

Enjoy the day, my O-zies!

Big breakthrough at the pool today. I started out with a warm-up backstroke lap, then did EIGHTEEN laps of crawl stroke in a row, stopping only long enough to move my lap marker!!!!!!!!!! Then a final cool-down backstroke lap. Just found my rhythm early and stuck with it.

Trudy, what do you use to condition your hair? Mine is getting to be like straw. I ordered some stuff called California Baby Conditioner (meant for swimmers), but I don't see that it does any better than the cheap stuff!

Chris, I'm sure most of the people in the PNW would LOVE to send you about 15 degrees of our heat! We are so not used to temps this high this early in the year. June is usually cool and wet. This is generally reserved for the last two weeks of July...maybe a week or two in August. My patio is awesome this morning...perfect temp for enjoying a couple mugs of coffee with my iPad. Then laundry and more scrapping.

Morning ladies... I have been absent all weekend!! I just did not have two minutes to get to spend on my computer. It was go, go, go all weekend :mmph: Oh well the day is all mine today and like Sharon said, its going to be another scorcher!! We are already on level one water restricktion and if this hot weather continues we will be at level 2 very shortly. Our idiot neighbours behind us think they should be able to water all night long and no one will notice  really!! I have a corner of my backyard that is sopping wet and its coming from their side of fence!! If this continues I will be making a phone call to the by-law officer, I have no problem at all reporting them!! They drive us crazy!!!! :loco:

Chris - How wonderful to hear that you are on your way to being back to full strength again!! So nice to hear that you are happier and feeling better!! Can you send some of your :rain: out this way? I love this warm summer weather, but we really need some moisture!! Man we are never happy are we?? Hope your puppy learns to be better behaved soon, so cute that your DH loves her so much!!

Astrid - Bet you are glad to have your project all finished! Wall paper really is hard to put up, I used to do it by myself, because DH hated to do that fussy kind of work. Now there is no wall paper in sight in this house, we just can't be bothered to put it up. LOL I bet your new area looks wonderful! Sorry to hear about the loss of your cyber friend!

Nancy - Isn't it wonderful that your son has found such a lovely girlfriend!! The dinner your DH made sounds scrumptious!! It made my mouth water!!

Hope you manage to get in your walk before the thunderstorms arrive!! You are such a dedicated walker, wish I could get back into walking more often.

Sharon - ugh sorry you were up with the birds this morning!! I slept pretty crappy last night also. Waiting for pictures of Mason's birthday party so I can get busy and do a page on it. No swimming for me today, I am going to go on Tues./Thurs and try to walk on all the other days. It is just too darn busy at our pool on Mon/Wed/Fri. Hope your swim went well! Yes we should all enjoy our Mondays!! That is a lot of time to wish away! Try to stay nice and cool today! Goodness what will July and August be like if it is this warm already??

Jean - hello to you where ever you are!! You too Phylis!!

Well yesterday was spent in a very HOT and CROWED hall, but the memorial was very nice, lots of great tributes to an old friend! We saw so many people that we have not seen for years! I even got to see the woman who was my maid of honour at our wedding! We have not seen each other since the day I got married, can you believe it?? Well she moved up Island and we moved to Saskatchewan and we just have never had the opportunity to see each other. We both almost cried we were so happy to see each other! We went all through elementary school together and then she moved away at the age of 13, we kept in touch and I made her promise that she would be my maid of honour if I got married. LOL We will now surely keep in better touch and hopefully see each other a bit more now that she knows that we are home to stay on the Island. Now that I know her married last name also, we can stay in touch through Facebook too!! We had supper with the In-Laws and the lake was like glass, such a beautiful place to be on such a warm night! Well I better get my butt in gear and catch up on my :washing: etc. I hope that you all have a fabulous Monday!!

Thanks Trudy. The cap didn't do me a bit of good...my hair was soaked after using it, and it is so uncomfortable to me, I ditched it after a couple tries. I'll try that conditioner.

How wonderful to have such a great reunion with your friend.

Keep cool!
