HellloooooO! How are you all today?

The East Coast is prepping for some hot weather ahead. Gary is already concerned about the AC units. We might have to bite the bullet and get a new one for the LR. He doesn't do well in the heat and it throws his blood sugar levels off a lot. It is so strange that I married someone who hates summer so much *winks*

We had a nice visit with the ILs, we stayed in the backyard in the shade. It is sad that we struggle to find things to talk about, there is so little going on in life. They have been doing a lot of gardening so we compared notes on plants and stuff.
We watched another hour of squirrel videos and got to see a deer with small antlers come through too. After dinner, we played Mario Party. It is a video game based on Mario Brothers characters and is a combination of a board game with mini-video games interspersed. So a combination of luck and skill. My luck was better than my skill so I came in second place. I got bonus points because I landed on the highest number of "bad luck" squares so maybe it wasn't that my luck was better than my skill? :noidea:

Today is the luau party, I hope Gary remember that he is cooking on the grill. If he can't I am sure that Scott will. It is just chicken and veggie kabobs.

Better get rolling along since I have no real idea of what and when and how I am cooking everything! LOL

HAGD!!!

Jean- I hope the heat doesn't bother you much today.
The smell of a grilled steak or burgers still makes my stomach grumble (in a good way) I bet they tasted great. The card sounds fantastic and fun! enjoy your Zoom meetings, stay in front of the fans.
I hope that you get some good photos on the birdfeeder camera. We saw some really neat videos of cardinals hovering like hummingbirds. We had no idea that they could do that.
Drat!! Leah has a ukulele, I wish I had thought of that. Scott and Gary would have had fun messing around with it. Cait and I, not as much listening to it :lalala:
I will check out the videos, TFS!
OMG-- I have the sound off on my computer ATM, but we will have to watch and listed n to them for the luau!! hahaha!!!!!!

Felis- I am happy that you had a relaxing day and a long chat even if the topics were not pleasant ones. Will your dogs bark if people come near your property? I always say that no one would ever try to rob our house with our maniac dogs.
The acoustic music must have been a relaxing way to end the night.
The US is doing a lot of the same, economy over people's lives. And I get it, with everyone out of work, it is really hard but I would rather be alive.
Are you on Facebook? Gary tagged me in some of the pictures he had posted of the squirrels and the baby raccoon. I am Chris Iantosca Campbell there.

hugs to all of you!

Happy Monday everyone! Ya I know its just another groundhog day!! LOL. We had a beautiful afternoon for the Father's Day BBQ with the In-Laws and sat out on the upper front deck, soaked up the sunshine and had a glass of wine before dinner! We had rib-eye steaks for supper and DH grilled them to perfection! He is a great BBQ chef!!! :hungry: I made stuffed potatoes for everyone (except me) and a 7 layer salad. Asparagus and Béarnaise sauce. Strawberry shortcake for dessert no cake for me, but the strawberries and whipped cream were sure yummy! FIL liked his card and lottery tickets that we put in for him so hope that he wins big, but remembers us if he does!! LOL It is another sunny morning so I think I will grab a coffee and sit outside this morning. The eagles are flying around the neighbourhood teaching their young some hunting skills so I will have a great show to watch and enjoy my caffeine fix. I need to spend some time in the gallery today and also get Hunter's birthday card done and mailed. Hopefully Canada Post doesn't lose this one :mmph:

Chris - Nice that you had a visit with the In-Laws and yes our conversations were a bit slow at first because not much is happening with us either  DH kept the conversations going talking about his work and plans for when he starts his 2 week vacation at the end of July. I of course let them know what was going on with the kids and grands and they were pleased to talk with both of our children by face time while they were here. Hope the AC units are ok and that they don't have to be replaced! An expense that I am sure you don't need right now! Have fun with the Luau today!! I can't wait to see the photos from this party! At least you can have a few laughs with the squirrel videos they are so cute! Hope your Gary is up to cooking on the BBQ today! Enjoy!!

Ok I will grab my coffee and head outside for a bit and then catch up with the rest of you in a bit! Have a great Monday morning everyone!

good afternoon - We are back from my DH having his last cataract surgery. This time he said he woke up during the surgery. OMgosh I think that is terrible. It is one of the hottest days and I was just going to sit in the parking lot but I was only about 15 min from my son and his MG so I drove there. I could keep cool and have some where to go to the bathroom. I really don't like driving where I have never been but it was an easy drive. Just as I was leaving there I got the call and was right on time to get my DH. So it was perfect. It would have been so hot though there is a bit of a breeze. He is now not wearing any glasses and after so long he finds it so weird. So happy for him. He is sleeping now. Sat. night we watched Ford vs Ferrari. We really enjoyed it. All I know is I could not drive a car that fast. We have now decided to make Sat night our movie night. It will be interesting to see what we watch. Our city has put up a drive in theater in one of our public parking lots. What a great idea. Families are loving it! Our town also shut one street to traffic downtown so there could be socially distance dining out! I am proud of all our town is trying to do to keep businesses alive. Today salons can open. Not sure when I can get an appointment but not rushing. Though my hair is so long it is driving me crazy in how long it takes to dry and Chris as you say frizz! My son and his MG brought food over that they prepared and it was delish. Air fried chicken and noodles and mixed veggies. But left so not to ruin my DH's quarantine. My oldest son called and that was so sweet! He is so excited to be taking his motorcycle course and test this week. I know I will eventually have to try it out. Again I do not feel the need for speed. Got distressing news from my sister and sister IL. My sister now has members in her family who have been exposed to people who tested positive to the virus. She is in AZ so not surprised. But she never goes out and when she has to go out she always wears a masks. My SIL and her husband both had the virus and he was really sick but not hospital sick. He lost 22 lbs. They live in CA. They are recovered now but still so scary. They are hoping the antibodies they might have keep them safer now.

Chris have fun at luau night. The grilled food sound so yummy! Glad you had such a nice talk with the parents. It is hard to find find things to talk about. But gardening and kids are always good. I love the videos of your back yard nature. So cool.

Trudy glad you too have a nice talk with parents. Being outdoors does help. Fun for you to talk about kids and grandkids. I think it is great that you have ground hog days. I love that view from your home.

Jean congrats on the meetings. Hope the heat and storms don't come your way!

Felis I was talking with my kids and how it is to have those hard conversations. Enjoy the days!

Kay hope your back continues to get better! The weather men around here are saying that the smoke and sand from Africa will meet. Hope this does cause you problems.

Have a great day

Good morning, girls!
I had nice and long chat with my sis. She was finally able to get back in Germany, with no troubles, and she's so happy, which makes me very happy too! Life is so strange! (Or we just living in simulation as I suspect that the Matrix is pure true LOL) All their plans go out the window in just a day at March. But happy hearts not need direction, she is completely happy just to sail through the moment, and enjoy the summer.
All this puts me in sort of romantic mood and it's not surprising that messing with my mind. I'm going to bed with daydreams for one, but then fall asleep and dream the other. I guess my mind is try to protect me, but chose the wrong memories, it's painful. Eh, however! As it's said in one of my fav songs: "Isn't it awful when I talk about my dreams. It must be torture when I talk about my dreams.", do not let me to bore you!

Chris, I'm sure that the luau party will be awesome! Hope Gary to be in mood to join too!
You know that I hate heat too. It's just start to being hot here and I was complaining whole day, but for my luck we had short rain just before to have to go watering our veggies. Hope your AC to start working!
No I'm not on FB (only Instagram), and can't see your cute videos or Rae's posts  .
Ughh, the most ridiculous thing is that first time when we was robbed they kidnap my two sheepdogs. I just hope they are resell them quick and aren't been cruel with them. I miss these girls so much! This is why my family no allows to post public or scrap Biggy and Tiny. Usually they just will poisoned your dogs.

Trudy, your Father's day celebration sounds lovely! And fingers crossed FIL to win from the lottery! Oh, the young eagles must be so cute! Do you plan to visit the kids during these 2 week vacation ? What you decide about the campervan road trip you was mentioned as a option?

Nancy, OMG so scary to get awake during the surgery! Nice that he is feeling fine now!
LOL our movie night is at Monday, as everybody feels too tired to do something useful after day back to work LOL. I'm just kidding (but only partly), actually Monday and Tuesday have premiere of dubbed films, not necessary brand new, but first time without subtitles  .
Oh and today I watched "After" as it's supposed to be more realistic version of "Twilight", but it wasn't even close!
You probably have already heard about Grigor Dimitrov and the others tennis players with positive results, so unpleasant! But they are young and strong, so it's not sounds so scary.
