We have another hazy, hot, and humid day ahead. 89* with 70% humidity. Get ready for a crazy hair day!

Was your weekend nice and relaxing? Mine wasn't. I am joking, it wasn't terrible, I am still playing therapist to my parents. They are in a bad spot, neither of them willing to give an inch. I have been telling them both that they need to set up "rules of engagement" and then sit down and talk. COVID is not going away any time soon and they *have* to find a way to communicate with each other. They have been married for 56 years so it is like banging my head against the wall.

Caitlyn and I spent a good chunk of the day getting the menu ready for tomorrow's theme. Then I had to spend another hour or so fighting with the ShopRite website. Then a phone call with my mom.
It was such a relief to get out of my head and watch the rest of Hamilton. I really enjoyed it and would love to see it on stage. But nope that isn't happening any time soon so many, many reasons, COVID being the least of them haha.

I have to pick my groceries up in am little bit so I am going to cut this short and do quick personals.

Gratitudes:

Kay- Did you have any fireworks last night, we heard a few go off but nothing like the night before. Hopefully, you got a good night's sleep on your comfy sheets. I was able to track them down on the Costco website. I just have to ask Gary what the log info is. thanks again!!

Trudy- How nice to a good time with your Gary and the wine! Were you able to get the yard work done too? You are always so busy and productive, I am jealous :D

Felis- your description of your day makes sense and I feel like that sometimes too.
Yes, I was wondering if you have the album or CD but I guess i should know that the digital form would be what you had. Happy that you get to listen to it!

::grouphug to all of you!

Morning all... going to be another scorcher.. maybe even hit over 100. Good day to stay in and veg.

Yesterday afternoon, DD#3, her son, girlfriend and their baby came over for a visit. The little on is just 6 weeks old. It was a thrill to get to see the newest great-grandbaby and get to hold him. We were keeping social distancing... so glad my family room is as big as it is. Had them sit on one side of the room and I was on the other side. I only held him for just a little bit but it was a thrill to have him open his eyes and look at me. Grandson is a wonderful dad... changing his diapers and feeding him a bottle. So I had my spirits lifted to see the newest generation. Ended up missing most of the weekly family chat as they were here when it was time - and we all forgot about it. Popped in for the last 5 minutes while DD#1 and DD#3 were still here.

Yes, Chris... no fireworks going off last night, thank goodness. Glad you were able to track down the sheets. Think DD#1 will be picking me up another set of sheets this week. So sorry that the parents are fussing again. I know that has to be hard on you trying to be a mediator between them. <<< hugs >>>

Trudy... how nice that you are able to bottle your own wine. Hope you got some of the yard work done, too.

Jean, Nancy, Cheryl, Felis. and all.. hope you all have a good week.

good morning as others have said it is going to be hot and humid. I got in my walk early and it was lovely out. Saw a flicker's nest, a bunny rabbit and had a nice chat with a Devils fan. He noticed my Devils' hat and we had a nice conversation about the team and if any sports should really be coming back. One of the baseball players said "sports are a reward for a functioning society." I totally agree. I keep not understanding the people who won't wear masks. They say it is a free society and they can do what they want. I remember when my parents grumbled a bit and we kids did too when we first had to wear seat belts and my parents hated it when they did away with smoking indoors and on planes. But both were to save lives and so is wearing a mask. It just boggles my mind. Luther did okay on the 4th with fireworks but man the illegal fireworks went off until 1-2am. Sad but the worst was that they just left their messes in parking lots and on lawns. Where were the police? I tried to think what I did yesterday and I read books. I found a Netflix series Virgin River. I loved it and want a second season but turns out they are a series of books and so I am to book 3 and I could just keep reading. It is set in a small rural town and the main story lines are women centered. But I have to stop and get some scrapping done. I also ended up going to the grocery store 3 times. LOL. I needed to pick up my refills and first I went before they were open, then I read and they were closed on the 4th so finally yesterday I got them. LOL. Everyone was in masks and gloved and very respectful. My youngest has to physically go back to work. He loved working from home but real life is just not that way. He really misses those kids and his MG.

Chris it is warm! I expect storms today. Hope you can help your parents but it must be so hard when they are together all the time and you cant be there. I really believe men get grumpier the older they get. Have fun getting read for your theme night.

Kay have you read any of the Robyn Carr books? They are fast reads but I like that they center on women's issues in rural areas. Of course there are also some good men to help them out. Your visit with newest great grand baby sounds awesome! Congrats! Glad you got to be on the video chat for a few minutes. Stay in from the heat! But at least as they say it is dry heat!

Trudy you are always so busy. I am glad you watched some of Hamilton. Yes I think the error was just so many trying to see it at once. I really am watching today. That is really long for a Broadway play.

Jean I cooked yesterday and it was not so hot but today will be worse so I am think of finding food from delivery or pickup. My DH had to go to home depot and he came back with my first white chocolate mocha frappe chino. OMgosh it was so good. Stay cool! Enjoy the genealogy classes. I bet you are learning a lot!

Felis glad you have new music. Enjoy. Hope things go well.

Happy Monday ladies!! I am extra late getting in here today, but as soon as I sat down at the computer my DD and the boys called. We had a nice long chat and although the boys were not very interested in talking with me today, it was good to have a long conversation with Heather!! It is another very warm day for them also, but the humidity is not bad, so it is a bit more bearable. The bathroom downstairs is all finished except for some towels that Heather is ordering today. It turned out really nice and the boys are loving the extra space! So before I headed here today I decided to get my floors vacuumed and washed and made myself a little something to eat. Not much else going on today, except that the In-Laws are supposed to pop in and pick up the wine that we got bottled for them. They said they would be here in the morning, but it is going on to 12 noon now and still no sign of them. I wonder if they are waiting for lunch so they can perhaps get a bite to eat here LOL. I would be happy to make them lunch of course.

Chris - That is sad that your Mom and Dad are bickering again!! I agree with Nancy and think that men actually do get grumpier as they age! It's a known fact that their brains shrink with age (not so much in women) so guess that would make anyone grumpy right?? I hope that they can find a way to work it all out, but it must be very frustrating to be caught in the middle! We did get lots of yard work done yesterday and the weather was very good! It was even quite hot in the backyard, so it was good to clean the awning and be in the shade while we cleaned it. It wasn't as dirty as we thought it might be, so that was nice! Grass got cut and weeding got done it was a good outdoor day!

Kay - Ughh I don't think I would like your hot weather, although I suppose its not so bad when it is at least a dry heat. Still 100 degrees is too warm for me LOL. How lovely to be able to hold the newest addition to the family! So nice that you got in a good visit with everyone, don't you just love new baby snuggles  Hope you can stay nice and cool today!

Nancy - That was great that you got to chat with a fellow Devil's fan on your walk this morning! I love what that baseball player said, it is so true!! I totally think that sports should just be put on hold right now, there is no way the world has any of this under control yet! Yes it is sad that some refuse to wear masks! They are not mandatory here yet, except in certain places like Costco, but I certainly don't have a problem wearing one if it is the rule! I hope to get the rest of Hamilton watched today, but if the in-laws don't get here soon I won't have time :mmph: Oh well there is always tomorrow! That drink your hubby picked up for you sounds amazing!! What a nice treat!! He's a keeper!! Hope you find some scrapping time today!

Well I will get to the gallery and see what inspires me today! Have a lovely Monday ladies!
