How can it be that a few days of doing *nothing* can make me so tired?
Pretty much all I did was read. OK, maybe not the only thing. But still. I did a bit of yard work with my dad. A couple of trees had fallen and I helped him drag the branches over to the side lot. I also did a bit of weeding in the front of the house but my parents kept yelling at me to take a break. At a point, I realized that my dad wasn't going to stop while I was still out there, so I stopped what i was doing for his sake. I was planning on doing more work clearing out the one area on Sunday, but it rained.

My dad was ok. He seemed a bit dizzy a couple of times but nothing crazy. He drove to church which was good- he was nervous but said that the drive home wasn't as stressful as it was getting there. And I only needed to break up a few fights between my parents. Not bad!
I missed the family and the dogs. I don't realize how crazy and loud it is here until I am in a quiet place for a long period of time.

I am mostly unpacked, just have to run some laundry today. Scott, Leah, and another couple are heading up there tomorrow for a couple of days, so I brought that laundry home and will send it up with them so they have clean sheets and towels.

I have to get ready for my favorite activity tomorrow and then Caitlyn and I will be off to the walk/yoga tonight.
My dad has 2 Drs appts today for his ears/vertigo/ Meniere's and my brother is taking him. he is going to give my dad the name of the sleep specialist he has seen. I think my dad should go for a sleep study too. He seemed receptive when I brought it up to him yesterday but who knows if he was just yes-ing me.

I am going to go back and catch up with everyone in a bit! Missed you all!

Jean- thanks for opening the weekend thread!

Felis- That is fantastic that you got some scrapping done. I started a LO one day last week and I think I have a paper and a photo on it and that is where I got stuck. I hope that your sister's photos give you a lot of inspiration. The pics that I have from Cait of W swimming are adorable and I want to scrap them too.

Nancy- yay! Bet it feels great seeing and talking and writing about the Devils again. That stinks about the traffic and road closure. There a small bridge (it goes over a creek- so it is basically road over a bit of water with guardrails) that is in the town "center." The road is one of the main roads around the town. The bridge is under construction and that section of road is closed until December. It is going to be a total PITA to get detoured around the back part of the town just to get 20 feet away from where you started.
I shouldn't complain since it isn't like regular north Jersey traffic. :car: :yell:
haha!!!
Hope that you enjoyed your sports-filled weekend!

Jean- I am sorry that the heat is getting to you. the talk sounds like it was a big success. How awesome to have an indoor air-conditioned picnic :)

How did DH do at the Hum and Strum- he didn't have a problem with the heat, I hope!

I am going to have to go back to Friday and see how nancy's trip was as well.

xoxo!

From Friday:

Nancy- the trip to ME sounds fantastic! I have no clue as to what any of those birds are but they must have been a sight to see. The island must have been gorgeous. I have to say that I am not sure how I would feel about the airplane- excited or scared :p You are so adventurous.

Felis- I hope that by today you are feeling happier. The lake house trip was just me and my parents. Almost total silence. It was weird though, not having the kids or dogs to laugh at but the gray and the kids sent me texts and pictures. Kids took W swimming again and they said that it was a good thing she was on a leash because she grabbed the stick and wanted to keep on swimming out! They reeled her back in like a fish :pound:

Rae- I hope that the weekend away did well for you too. I wish I had words of wisdom but I will just say that I am thinking of you all.

Jean- like I said to Nancy- I can't imagine being in a little plane like that. I feel bad that the heat is getting to you. Looks like today will be another HHH and by Wed it will cool off a bit. Is that what they are predicting for you too?

hugs, my friends!!!

Yes, it is still hot here but Wednesday is predicted to be perfect, much cooler and sunny. I must be getting used to it as it isn't that bad just now. Yesterday DH did the music thing where they were in the shade of a tree. It worked up a sweat but at the end they got ice cream bars which they really enjoyed. This morning was his regular Hum & Strum session during which I did my weekly bit with the bills. Now I have emails and phone calls to make (about genealogy) but no energy to actually do them.

Chris, doesn't sound as if you enjoyed the quiet weekend as much as expected. Between you worrying about your dad and them worrying about you, I can see the stress. Hope Dad gets good reports from the docs and does the sleep thing. Since DH and I are not quite two years younger than your parents, this does give me pause, to say the least.

Wishing everyone a good start to the week.
