Monday, again? Really??
And here I thought last week and weekend were going to be relaxing ones. :giggle4:
How was your weekend?

I spent most of the day over at my friend's house for the garage sale. It was so quiet that she didn't really need me but I had fun chatting with her and two of her other friends that were also helping. I don't think I got much of anything else done yesterday. I sure don't feel any more prepared for the week than I did three days ago.
The patio repair is supposed to begin tomorrow but we never got any confirmation for the contractor over the weekend. Gary called him on Friday and he said Mon or Tues but not a word since. Last night we had a bear show up on the patio for the bird seed. We'll take that down today as soon as it is empty and leave it down, but wouldn't it be funny (ish) to have bear prints in the concrete?
I'll amend that to it being funny to have *one* clean print in the concrete. Just one. ;)

Gary is also waiting on Sam to call this mornignto see if they can squeeze Jaida back in for a recheck on her leg. The hot spot had started to heal and now it is open again. That means it's some level of more likely to be a mast cell tumor. I can't even begin to think of that - surgery? Treatment? Could not come at a worse time financially. As if any time in my life is OK financially. :crying1:
It will work out. As long as she is ok.

I'd better get going. I have to check traffic in a bit before I head to the Doctor's office. It could take me anywhere from 50 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on traffic and construction on the highway. I planned for an hour but one accident or lane closure can blow that up.
After that, I'll stop for a visit with my parents and then head home.

Sending all of you big hugs!

@vickyday Hope you had a wonderful day!

@BrightEyes Yippeee for feeling back to normal. Hoping that the weather cools off soon.
Good luck getting everything done today and enjoy the time with DD#1

@bcgal00 It is not like you to spend a day in bed, glad that the doctor was able to clear the ear out. Let is know if the olive oil drops work!

@BoatLady thanks for asking about my parents. I talked to my mom yesterday and she sounded much better. My dad is the same, checked out mentally and depressed.
It must feel very quiet after the busy week with family and friends. How long will you stay before you move on to the next adventure?

@AK_Tracy Did you get enough time to soak in some sunshine and store it up while it rains the next few days? Sending you hugs so you feel better too!

I hope Jaida is OK and it's just a fluke in the healing process! :hug4:

Thank you! Went to lunch with Mark's daughter after church. She bought an older trailer that she is fixing up for her and her son to live in, so we went to see that afterwards. She has done a lot of work on it but still has lots to do! I hope she doesn't regret it. It is 50 years old but has new AC unit and new kitchen cabinets. She mainly bought it for the land investment. She is hoping to get her grooming business moved closer to home, so that will help, too. After that we went home and just chilled in front of the TV all afternoon. I worked on the church deposit and paperwork while Mark slept with the NASCAR race on!

Good Morning,
Waiting to hear from Mark. Im sure lunch is in the near future for us.
I will make the church deposit while out.
Other than that I'm going to do laundry (already in process) and scrap.
Have a great day!

@vickyday That trailer sounds like a project but when she is done she can be proud. Lots of people fix up old trailers and some are really cute. I'd love to see pics of her project.
Sounds like a relaxing afternoon...I hope for one this week. Being with our son who is a workaholic is not necessarily relaxing although this property up here is. Have fun scrapping.Hubby slept through NASCAR---wow.

@faerywings Hoping Jaeda is ok with no big vet bills, so keep us posted. Animals can be as expensive as children.LOL I'm glad your parents are better that takes some stress off you and brother. Your bear paw pic is amazing! How nice that you helped your friend with her tag sale...I hope they found a new place to live. If I remember they need to be out soon.
Oh go checkout my page on Monthly challenge Birds at McCabin...the birds I heard here at Mikes.

We are leaving our son's place here in Upstate NY going to Lake Placid today only 2.5 hours away so not a bad day. I cleaned and mopped the floors, did some dusting, cleaned the bathroom. the outside needs a good scrubbing but it will have to wait. Just got a note from DD she is at one of my favorite places ---Block Island RI. she is over with 2 college friends to see one of their friends sing at Ballards- the bar/beach by the ferry dock!!! I'm so jealous that I couldn't go be with the girls. She just got back from Cape Cod MA. --my traveler!

Ok got to go pack up now we pull out in an hour.

Unfortunately she has not been taking photos of the project! She is not a scrapper, LOL!
I've been to Lake Placid with DH#1. We went to the New England states back in 2006, maybe, during the leaf peeping season and went through Lake Placid. I don't remember what all we saw when we stopped there. I'd have to go back and find my photos to refresh my memory. I do remember the ski jumps, however! Scary!

We had a busy weekend. Trail work Saturday morning, socializing with friends at a winery Saturday afternoon while the first set of thunderstorms passed. We got another one at dinner time and a third at about 11pm. Sheesh. Then church Sunday morning and a matinee performance of Pirates of Penzance and dinner with more friends. Last night's thunderstorm didn't come by until after dark. I think I've woken up every morning this summer to a Flood Watch on the weather app. Enough already.

I have my office back after using the room for a second guest bedroom while the grands visited. So I am hoping to start catching up on my photos, as well as some web maintenance that needs to be done for the Community Chorus.

My mom told me she has Covid. I did a zoom with her, she doesn't seem to be very sick. Her doctor prescribed cough medicine and the independent living where she lives is delivering her meals to her door. She keeps close track of the menu, and sees that they're having a seafood boil Wednesday and wants to go to the dining room for that. I'm trying to talk her into at least testing negative before she appears in public. I did manage to convince her not to go for her hair cut appointment this morning, by pointing out that if she gets the stylist sick, the stylist is liable to lose out on several days of earnings and how will she pay her bills? At least with covid now she won't have to try to figure out how to get a booster vaccine until November.

I made a lovely recipe the other day: Linguine with shrimp, corn, and zucchini. Used lots of basil and mint from my garden. It's definitely going on the "make it again" list.

Everyone keep cool and dry!

DD#1 and I were up, dressed and on the way to the base just before nine. We were living right... and we hit most green lights on the way there (30 miles on the other side of town). Only took about 20 minutes to get her a pass onto the base (usually takes upwards of an hour), Walked into the BX pharmacy and NO ONE WAS IN LINE!!! Caught a great sale on a new Swiffer mop and in addition it had a $10 off coupon. My old Swiffer wouldn't hold the pad in place any longer. Of course, it was only about 15 years old... :floorlaugh: The commissary was not crowded either... We were back home before 1:30 and everything put away in record time. We are kicking back and resting...then making Chicken Patty burgers and sweet potato fires for an early supper. Have a feeling we are going to crash early.

I have a LO that I hope to finish and upload this afternoon. If not - I will get it done tomorrow.

Wow you kicking butt and taking names!!!!! Good Job!!!!!

Can I quit? Am I allowed to throw a toddler fit and say NO no more. :giggle4:

So tired. Paid property tax bill. Worked on ILP for homeschool, almost done. Worked on getting driver ed set up, college class looked at, PE schedule sorta prepped, laundry running. Mentally wore out. Nothing like having to put together what subject, course line, year or semester, curriculum titles and authors, hours, etc. I quit.

**stomps feet, sits down, crosses arms** Harumph. I done!

Give me an hour then I will adult and finish dinner and maybe make the bed with the sheets I just washed. Coffee wore off and I am ready for a nap, but naps and I dont get along. (nap):pokestick:(me). Like poking a bear.
